Chapter 1: Obsession

Izuku Midoriya wanted to be a hero, that was his dream, but not anymore. Why? Because he was quirkless.

Ever since he was diagnosed quirkless at the age of four, his life completely changed, his best friend Katsuki Bakugo as well as all his other friends started making fun of him and bullying him, calling Deku, which means useless just like him. His father Hisashi Midoriya started to neglect him and his mother because he was disgusted at the fact that his son was powerless, and his mother, despite loving Izuku, told him that he couldn't become a hero which broke him more than anything else.

And as he was drowning in a sea of despair and sorrow, he turned to the only friend he had left...

Television!

He always watched it after another bad day to forget about his troubles, to bring back a smile on his face, he watched the news where he could see heroes in action, he watched some of their movies as well, although in their current society it was the only thing movies were all about, but one day as he was going through the movies his family have, he found something that would change his life...

We now see a six-year-old Izuku rummage through some boxes that contained movies that they own, and as he was searching through the near endless amount of hero movies he already watched plenty of times, he stumbles upon a movie that he never saw before and by the glimpse of it, it doesn't seem to be focused on heroes which was a first for him since in this society almost everything have to do with heroes nowadays, which means this movie is from the pre-quirk era and this theory was confirmed when he saw that the date on the movie case was around 20XX which is around two hundred years ago, this discovery definitely interested him so he watched it.

And by the end of the movie he was awestruck, speechless, it was the best movie he has ever seen, and with how much he idolizes heroes especially All Might, it takes a lot to consider something not related to heroes the best for him.

Or at least he thought.

The movie he has seen has done things better than all the hero era movies he has ever seen, the action, the dialogues, the introduction of the protagonist and its conclusion, the dynamic between different characters, the overall plot, literally everything was done better than even his favorite movie which was about All Might of course, but how? How did something from before quirks appear be better? How can something made by people like him surpass what those that have a gift have produced? Well, he was going to find out.

After having seen that movie, he started to scavenge for more pre-quirk era movies, and not just movies but shows as well, he wanted to know what made those cinematic piece of art different from the ones from today, he found three others of those movies in the same couple of boxes he was looking through as well as an entire season of a cartoon, and when he finished watching those he was yet again left without words, it was the same result as with that movie, it was the best thing he have seen.

And with that he started to search for more pieces of media from before the age of heroes through the internet, such as movies, series, game shows even documentaries, he searches far and wide, taking notes on all of what he sees inside notebooks, just like how he started to do the same with heroes but he has long since threw them in the trash bin, after all everyone have made it clear that without a quirk he couldn't become a hero, well, to be more precise everyone apart from his mom have said that he wouldn't accomplish anything, and he started believing in those words until he found out how people from the quirkless era could succeed just as much as those who have powers, so he distanced himself from the world of heroes and dedicated himself to his new aspirations.

And before he knew it, he now had a new dream, and it was to bring back the golden age of televised entertainment, he would become a producer, a composer, an actor, everything related to the entertainment area so that he could bring a smile on the faces of everyone in the entire world just like how it managed to bring back his smile.

He of course told his mother about his new dream and passion, Inko was a bit sad that because of her and everyone else he has given up on becoming a hero but that sadness was overshadowed by the huge amount of happiness she felt seeing her son be happy again, Hisashi though was a bit less supportive if not at all, to him Izuku would never be capable of accomplishing anything, as for Katsuki and his "friends" the mocking didn't stop as they had similar thoughts to his father, so they of course continued to bully him, not that Izuku cared, sure it hurts but he knew that compared to his almost unrealistic dream of heroics this time he would show them for sure that he would succeed, and so as time went by he spent all of his time learning about how things work behind the scenes, analyzing movies, practicing his acting skills as well as building up confidence which he now have a lot of, but more importantly watching more movies and shows until he have seen them all, he also was great at engineering so much so that if it wasn't for his new dream he would probably have tried out the support course.

He didn't neglect his studies of course, and despite his schools best attempts to sabotage him they couldn't hide the fact that despite lacking a quirk he was quite the model student with a promising future, so they reluctantly gave up on getting in his way, but that didn't stop the bullying though, rather it made it worse since the pride of those who were born to be "better" than that "quirkless loser" was heavily damaged due to Izuku always performing better, and after a beating has almost resulted in him losing his life at the age of ten he decided with the help of his mother to take online classes from now on, which allowed him to (somehow) graduate early at the age of thirteen which means he could now go to an acting school.

Rejected, they rejected him, how? Why? What? Why would they reject him especially since he definitely scored way more than enough to pass, well, the answer was simple really.

It's because he was quirkless, because he was "worthless", because he had "no potential since birth", it hurted him deeply to come to this conclusion but it was okay there are more than one acting school and plus they are other courses that will allow him to reach his dreams.

Rejected again, and again, and again, and again, no one, no one wanted him despite being a god damn prodigy in the entertainment department and wasn't even a major yet for f*ck sake, Izuku was once again filled with despair, words of his former classmates and his father who have eventually left resonated in his mind, telling him he was worthless, he was useless, that his life would amount to nothing, that he was a Deku.

His mother was as distraught as her son by this, but she did her best to support him, she would make sure she doesn't make the same mistake as when he was four, when he asked her if he still could become like All Might, unfortunately she would not have that opportunity has in the same week that Izuku got his last letter of rejection, Inko passed away in a villain attack.

This was it, the last drop, first he discovered at the age of four that he would never be considered as a human in this society, then all schools denied him his dream, and now they take away the only person who ever loved him, believed in him, and who would've never abandoned him, the only person he have ever loved more than his hopes and dreams.

He now have nothing, no one, and no where to go since the landlord of their apartment kicked him out, it was obvious on their face that they waited to do this for a while now, all of his mother's money went into her own funeral that no one but him and the Bakugo's attended, It did ease him a bit to know that despite his existence there were still people who cared about her, although he could clearly see that Katsuki was dragged here against his will, Katsuki's parents offered to take care of Izuku but he refused.

Izuku was on the streets for a while until he found an abandoned warehouse near the docks where he would stay for a while until he figured out what to do now.

-Present day, abandoned warehouse

Izuku was sitting on a worn down chair looking blankly at the small table in front of him, he didn't know what to do next, a lot was going on in his mind at the same time until he turned his gaze to his right where he saw a shattered mirror that still had enough glass to fully reflect his appearance even with the little amount of light in this place, he was rather short even for his age, his green messy hair were full of dirt, his emerald eyes were devoid of emotions, which does not reflect the man he wanted to become, he was wearing a worn down suit, the same one he had during his mother's funeral.

(…Pathetic…) was all he could think of when looking at himself, then his blank expression turned to one of extreme rage, he got up from his chair and stomped towards the partially broken mirror while starting to have mental breakdown, (This… face… that face… THAT F*UCKING FACE!) as he finally was in front of the mirror he started to let out his frustration on it, punching the mirror repeatedly, (THIS IS THE FACE OF SOMETHING THAT DENIED ME EVERYTHING! MY FRIENDS! MY DREAMS! MY FAMILY! MY HAPPINESS! MY… my…) Izuku furiously thought as blood started to pour out of his hands due to the constant beating that he was giving to the mirror that now was starting to look like nothing with blood on it, eventually Izuku came to a stop once he spotted a tv, not a flat screen one like the one in which he used to watch movies, series and so on, no this time it was like the old ones around the 70's, he then had an idea, a dumb one to anyone that is sane but Midoriya is no longer sane anymore so you can't really blame him.

He looked through everything in the warehouse and was delighted to know that he has everything he need's here so using his pretty impressive tinkering skills he went to work on something, it would take him a while to complete it and he had only one chance to make it work or else… well it's not like he have anything to lose any longer, and so with a new goal in mind he went on to work on something that would change him forever.

-Around a week or so later, same location

Inside the warehouse was a mess, well, it already was a mess but this time it's an organized mess? Like someone has been here building something, we then see a completely different figure now sitting on the same chair in front of the same table as before but this time it has a not so pleasant sight, there was blood all over the table as well as a bloodied saw and next to the table was a couple of boxes covered in blood which contained… c-contained… I think it's best if you don't know, suddenly the figure which had a tv instead of a head had his tv head turned on showing nothing but statics as well as emitting static sounds, his tall and long suited up body started twitching and then he rose up as the statics dissipated showing a cartoony like face, one with small white dots as eyes, no nose and a never disappearing smile made of teeth of different colors which would remind anyone of the error screen often seen on tv, the figure then started talking as he looked at his hands, "I-I it worked! I can see! I can move! I can talk! I can… smell? Well, this is certainly strange, not that I complain, but now is not the time to chat to myself! I have a dream to accomplish! Watch out world because Izuku Midoriya-… no… Mr. Puzzles is coming to steal the show!" the figure known as Izuku Midoriya but now named Mr. Puzzles exclaimed as he started laughing like a madman.

And this signs the start of something that would reshape the world.

...Alright I guess we need to talk, first I hope you've enjoyed this new fanfic, I had this idea of making Izuku Mr. Puzzles for a while now especially since I love the character of Mr. Puzzles he's cool.

Now for those who know me from my other fanfic well I know it's been a while since I haven't uploaded anything in a while and honestly it's my fault for underestimating how hard managing this account, my studies and my real life all at the same time would actually be so just like I've warned a couple of times, don't expect a consistent upload schedule.

But I still have some good news, I'm halfway from completing the sixth chapter of Naruto, the ultimate lifeform and I'm planning to make the seventh as well before uploading those three chapters I've promised to one of you.

Anyways, with that said I hope all have a nice day! See ya!
