Cassie woke Santana up at 6:50 a.m., gently nudging her to rouse her for her 8:00 a.m. doctor's appointment. Santana, feeling groggy and slightly irritable, looked at Cassie as she settled down on the edge of the bed, offering reassurance that Santana only had a half day at school and could rest once she returned home.

Reluctantly, Santana threw off the covers, grumbling as she rose from the bed and made her way across the hallway to the bathroom for a quick shower. Meanwhile, Cassie headed downstairs to start brewing a fresh pot of coffee. Following her shower, Santana returned to her room to pick out clothes for the day from her closet.

At 7:20 am, Santana came downstairs and was surprised to see Rachel already in the kitchen. She sat down on a stool and listened as Cassie explained to Rachel that she couldn't drive her to school that morning due to Tiger's doctor's appointment. Shelby would be taking Rachel to school once everyone else was ready. Rachel suggested calling Kurt to ask his dad to pick her up, but Cassie quickly intervened, explaining that it wouldn't be feasible. Rachel, feeling frustrated, questioned why Santana, Quinn, and Kitty could attend the same school where Shelby worked, while she was the only one at William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio.

Cassie responded, "We've already had a conversation about this, Rachel."

Expressing her frustration, Rachel replied, "I understand, but I still don't think it's fair."

Recognizing Rachel's point of view, Cassie reassured her, "I know it may seem unfair to you, but you have great friends and teachers at your current school who genuinely care about you. We don't want to disrupt that."

Santana interjected, "It's not always about you, Rachel."

To which Rachel retorted, "I never said it was."

Cassie, trying to diffuse the situation, firmly said, "It's too early for this. Both of you need to speak respectfully to one another; I won't tolerate arguing in the morning."

Apologizing simultaneously, both girls acknowledged Cassie's admonition. Meanwhile, Shelby greeted her wife and their daughters, giving each a kiss on the forehead as she entered the kitchen, with Cassie grabbing her travel mug and purse, ready to leave the house with Santana at 7:30.

While Cassie drove Santana to her doctor's appointment for a check-up, Rachel decided to enjoy a relaxing moment with a bowl of her favorite cereal while she waited for Quinn and Kitty to arrive. It wasn't long before Shelby, their Mom, reminded them to eat quickly, after which they all gathered at the kitchen counter. Following their meal, Shelby efficiently loaded the dishes into the dishwasher, and soon they all headed out in Shelby's sleek black Escalade. First, they dropped off Quinn and Kitty at Carmel High School before making their way to Lima to ensure that Rachel arrived at her school. Afterward, Shelby returned to Carmel High School.

Meanwhile, Cassie signed Santana in at the doctor's office, and together they settled into the waiting room until the nurse called Santana's name.

After Santana's doctor's appointment, Cassie went with her to the pharmacy to pick up her allergy medication. They then headed over to Valley Café for a wonderful breakfast. They opted for a satisfying spread, including a stack of fluffy pancakes, perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, steaming hot coffee, and refreshing orange juice.

As they waited for their meal, Santana shared her exciting plans to organize a dance team at school. Cassie was proud of her daughter's initiative and suggested creating a flyer to post on the bulletin board to attract interested students. She also asked Santana how many members she aimed to have on the dance team.

"I want at least 10 people, mama," Santana replied with a bright smile. "I've already prepared a flyer, it's in my backpack. I can show it to you when we get back to the car."

As their meals arrived, the conversation dwindled when the waitress placed their dishes on the table. They ate quietly, and after finishing, Cassie took care of the bill and left a generous $20 tip to show her appreciation for the excellent service. Walking out of the restaurant, Cassie put her arm around Santana and led her to the car. Inside the car, Santana reached into her backpack and retrieved a flyer for a dance team, excited to share it with her mother.

Looking at the flyer, Cassie expressed her approval and suggested that Santana show it to her mom before putting it on the school bulletin board, returning the flyer to her daughter.

"I will, Mama," Santana said, gazing down at the flyer in her hand.

"Tiger, I didn't appreciate it when you interrupted me while I was trying to calm Rachel down. We need to make sure we're treating others with respect," Cassie gently advised.

"I'm sorry for interrupting you, Mama. It was rude, and I'll try not to do it again," Santana responded sincerely.

While Cassie and Santana conversed in the parking lot, Quinn decided to skip her math class.

Kitty noticed her sister Quinn walking down a different hallway instead of being in Math class as expected. It was clear that Quinn was skipping, so Kitty decided to follow her. However, before she could do so, she heard her mother Shelby's voice behind her. "Where are you off to, Kit? Your history class is in the opposite direction," Shelby asked, with her hands on her hips. Caught off guard, Kitty explained, "Um, I was just grabbing something from the vending machine, Mom."

Shelby, recognizing that Kitty might be skipping class, expressed her disappointment. "It seems like you were planning to skip your history lesson, Kit," she said. Kitty, determined to defend herself, insisted, "No, I'm really going to my history class now, Mom." However, Shelby stopped her by firmly grabbing her arm. "We'll talk about this later. For now, I'll walk you to your history class," she said, leading Kitty to her classroom and discussing the situation with her teacher.

Once Kitty was seated, Shelby gave her a final look before heading back to her own classroom. As she left, she noticed Santana in the hallway with a late slip, heading to her Chemistry class.

As the school day came to a close, Santana eagerly made her way to the bustling school auditorium. She was pleasantly surprised to find her mother, Shelby, the coach of Vocal Adrenaline, leading the group in an intricate dance routine. Santana settled next to her sister Quinn in the second row, eagerly watching the captivating choreography unfold.

Meanwhile, in Shelby's office, Kitty sank into a chair, visibly dejected. Shelby took a seat beside her, inquiring about her absence from history class. "I swear I wasn't skipping, Mom. I saw Quinn in the hallway, but then I lost sight of her. That's when I heard your voice," Kitty explained truthfully.

Curious, Shelby asked, "Any idea why Quinn was headed in the opposite direction of her classroom?"

Shrugging, Kitty replied, "No clue. You'll have to ask her yourself."

"Okay, but for now, you can work on your homework here," Shelby said as she stood up, leaving the room. "I'll be back to check on you in 30 minutes," she added as she walked out.

As Shelby made her way back to the auditorium, she caught a glimpse of her wife Cassie putting in a lot of effort into the dance routine. Wanting to check in with Santana about how the rest of her day at school had gone after her doctor's appointment, she decided to sit next to her.

"Mom, the doctor gave me some allergy medication for my allergies," Santana shared. "By the way, I'm interested in starting a dance team and I wanted to talk to you about it."

"That's great, Tiger. I know you're incredibly talented as a singer and dancer, but will this affect your school work?" Shelby asked.

"No, Mom, school always comes first," Santana assured her.

"Absolutely. If I see your grades slipping, I'll have to put a stop to the dance team right away," Shelby stated firmly.

Santana remained quiet, meeting her mom's gaze, and Shelby reiterated, "Is that clear, Tiger?"

"I understand, Mom," Santana replied, her tone lacking enthusiasm.

Shelby's attention abruptly shifted to her other daughter, Quinn, as she sternly demanded an explanation for leaving school grounds without permission during the third period.

"Um," Quinn hesitated.

"Quinnie bear, you're grounded for two days. Hand over your cellphone," Shelby declared firmly.

Reluctantly, Quinn surrendered her cellphone to her mom. Shelby then instructed Quinn to go to the office and write a three-page essay detailing the reasons for her absence from math class. Quinn let out a frustrated groan as she rose from her seat, slung her backpack over her shoulder, and trudged alongside her sister to the office, expressing her feelings of injustice about the situation and lamenting the fact that she had to write a lengthy essay.

As she put down her pen, Kitty questioned her sister, "Where did you go?"

"I was just taking a walk around, and then I ended up in the auditorium until my next period," Quinn explained.

Kitty looked skeptical, "It doesn't sound convincing to me, Quinn."

"Who cares? I'm grounded anyway," Quinn replied. She then took out a piece of paper and a pencil to start writing the three-page essay about why she skipped her math class.

Meanwhile, back in the auditorium, Shelby focused on perfecting the songs they were going to sing during the dance numbers. She ran through the routine five times until they got it right, while Santana laughed as her mother corrected their dance moves.

Following the rehearsal, Shelby gave her students a short five-minute break before she made her way to her office to review the homework assigned to Kitty and check on Quinn's progress with her three-page essay. After that, she returned to the auditorium for more rehearsal

After the Vocal Adrenaline rehearsal concluded, Shelby and Cassie dismissed the students. Shelby then went to her office to retrieve Kitty and Quinn so they could all leave together. Santana grabbed her bag and followed Shelby to her car, getting into the passenger seat. Cassie started the car, and as they drove home, Kitty joined Santana in the backseat, while Quinn took the backseat. Once home, Cassie unlocked the door. Santana put her things away and took off her shoes in her room, while Cassie washed her hands before reheating the leftovers for their family meal.

Later on, Rachel arrived home after everyone had finished cleaning up. She shared details about her day before heading to bed at 10 pm.
