Tripp sat in the shuttle and watched as Enterprise grew smaller and smaller. His family was on that ship, and he was leaving them. T'Pol wasn't happy with him even if she didn't show it. He should be heading to Earth with them and setting up their new home and watching the birth of the Federation.
Tripp glanced over to Malcom and thanked him again for coming with him on this mission. He hoped that this mission wasn't going to take too long so he could go home and be with his family. It shouldn't take too long for them to get Coffin and bring him back to Starfleet. It should only take a month, two at max. Then he should be back with his wife and watch his children grow up.
"We could turn around, go back, and give this mission to someone else," Malcom said.
Tripp shook his head. "No, this man saved my family," He took one last look at the ship where his family was before turning away and looking out to the stars and the unknown.
Malcom gave him a moment before saying. "Where are we going?"
"To our friends Orions," Tripp said. "Here are the coordinates," He gave Malcom the coordinates.
"How are they going to help us? Wouldn't it just be easier to go and get Coffin. We could be back in no time," Malcom put the coordinates in.
"Balab is going to see us coming in this Starfleet shuttle. He could kill Coffin, and our mission would be ruin," Tripp said. "I want to save this man."
"Okay," Malcom didn't know if this was going to work, but he had to have faith in Trip that he knew what he was doing. "If I remember we don't have a good relationship with the Orions."
"Yes, but we are looking for a certain somebody," Tripp smiled.
