Beginning of ACT I

PHASE 01: Prologue

Junius Seven

October 3rd, 73 C.E.

Junius Seven.

This place… had once been a home… to hundreds of thousands…

It was not a military base, but an agricultural facility. A place where Coordinators could grow and harvest their own supply of food instead of relying on the one on Earth. And that because of the growing discrimination and divided policies were becoming too much for the PLANTS to handle.

And yet, despite bearing no evidence of harm or threat to the Earth Forces, it was Junius Seven where what would become the biggest tragedy all alive then would witness in their lifetime.

A nuclear warhead.

On that had suddenly appeared without warning, and had erupted a fireball that collapsed the entire colony into the vaccum of space.

Along with taking 243,721 lives. Including his mother.

This is where it started.

Not by accident or miscalculation. But an act of murder and hate made discreetly by those plotting the destruction of every human alive with genes and DNA that had been programmed and designed before birth.

And that hate had been reciprocated in full…

Thus, starting the war that nearly destroyed them. That nearly destroyed all of them.

The broken colony had become nothing more than a cold graveyard drifting through the void that was space. And a reminder of all those who had been lost on that day…

That reminder… that there were scars that couldn't be healed.

And because of that…

In the present moment… the half of it… was descending towards the blue sphere and the origin of humanity. That which was known as Earth.

He would not have it.

Alex Dino would not have it.

Or rather… Athrun Zala would not have it.

Better thinking than making it.

Athrun glowered as the meteor breaker he had taken to work on the descending half of the asteroid remained out of reach. And that was thanks to the bizarre mobile armors swarming towards him…

He groaned as he maneuvered his borrowed ZAKU Warrior and quickly aimed his assault rifle to blast green emerald beams that struck down another round-shaped mobile armor.

And then there came another mobile that started on offense with his ZAKU. It was of a weird design that Athrun had never seen before. It was big, almost round, with a bronze-colored due. Its arms and legs looked too short, but it carried a long, gold lance in its right hand. It even moved fast despite its design.

Athrun quickly pulled out his beam axe from his shield, and pulled it up to parry the unknown striking with its lance. It wasn't done, however, as it flew back, and from its stomach, shot out multiple beams that burned across the ground towards the ZAKU. Athrun nearly felt a beam graze near his ZAKU's foot. He took his chance to launch missiles from the ZAKU's hips towards his opponent. The missiles caused an explosion that only caused to push back the mobile suit as if it was moving through water.

"SHIT! You insane!"

Athrun turned, and saw the Impulse Gundam hover high and came down swinging its double-bladed sword towards the mobile suit lancer.

"No! Wait!"

"I'm taking this chubby thing right now!" He heard the pilot brashly ignoring his call, and the Impulse started to spin its double-bladed sword, before clashing against the lance of the round mobile suit. The Impulse's double-bladed sword and the enemy's lance were caught in a hold. Before long they broke off, and the Impulse dashed again towards the enemy, spinning his blades like helicopter before using the momentum to make an uppercut that made a dent at the mobile suit's cheek. The machine retaliated immediately, and a burst came from its stomach area that shot the red-white Gundam back.

Athrun responded and swung his beam axe like boomerang till it spun across the space and made its mark on the enemy's head before it advanced upon the vulnerable Impulse.

"Are you okay?" The ZAKU approached the Impulse.

"Don't worry about me!" He could hear the Impulse pilot retorting, almost angry. "I can take him!"

"Not if you keep going at him recklessly!" Athrun yelled.

"Like you're doing any better against him?!" Both their suits turned and saw not only the lancer mobile suit, but even more mobile armors swarming to their side.

"You cover me from the lesser prey, I'll take the big one!"

"Wait!" The Impulse was already engaging and trading blows with the mobile suit's lance again, and it left Athrun to quickly trade his axe for his machine rifle to keep fire on the smaller mobile armors trying to swarm him.

He couldn't take it. First it was those rogue GINN's, then Bogey One, and now this new faction were distracting them from doing what needed to be done. While the Minerva had called all mobile suits to retreat, Athrun knew they had a chance to break apart the other half. Because even though they succeeded in breaking the giant asteroid in half, the other half would still be enough to cause catastrophe. Millions upon the surface would still die. The damage would be just as bad.

No, not bad. Worse.

It would be no different.

No different than what happened here… on this ground that they stood on.

He would not sit back and let that slide. Not when there was a chance to reduce it.

It would be easier if his new partner… would be willing to listen to his lead for once. He was the one with the Gundam.

But he was the not only one on this falling rock.

He dared to take a glance to his left to see near the other side of the crater, another fearsome battle was taking place.

Two mobile suits clashed with ferocity against one another. One red and one white.

The red mobile suit being a model and design he had never seen before. It's shape and armaments almost look bizarre compared to mobile suits he had been used to. It had a glowing dome for head, and its upper body and shoulders look too big, they wouldn't be easy to miss. It made the red-painted ZAKU look well-fit. And yet, the abomination was able to push back against the Gundam.

And the other opponent was a mobile suit he didn't think he would see again… lest this high out in the Earth's orbit.

It had been repaired. And fighting alongside him… in this most desperate hour.

And that was ZGMF-X10A Freedom.

And he knew exactly who was piloting it.

ZAFT Battleship LHM-BB01 Minerva

"It's closing towards the gravity well!" The red-haired pigtailed girl by name of Hawke at her monitor exclaimed. "It will only be a few minutes before half of the asteroid makes it to Earth's atmosphere!"

Cagalli Yula Atha couldn't believe what was happening in front of her.

When she had awakened and got back to the bridge of the ZAFT's new battleship, she learned that situation to deal with the looming crisis that Junius was not going as everyone had hoped.

First, she heard the Joule Team had been attacked by rogue mobile suits, thus delaying the operation to break apart the asteroid before it could make its way towards Earth's gravity well. Thus, the Minerva had to intervene in sending her own mobile suit pilots to help the Joule Team, and among them, was Alex Dino…

Athrun.

The feeling of both ache and concern was twisting her, almost making sit at the edge of her seat.

It had only gotten worse when three new mobile suits joined the fray.

Gaia. Chaos. And Abyss.

The same three G-Weapons that had been stolen from Armory One. The ones responsible for starting this whole voyage of confusion since she and Athrun had to come aboard ZAFT's new battleship and give chase to the thieves before they could get away.

But the greatest shock of the day didn't compare to what appeared shortly after the battle started.

The sight of a mobile suit she had seen in a long time.

One that had managed to stop the Gaia from brining its beam sabers upon the red ZAKU Warrior, before it rose and announced its presence to all in the battlefield.

The Freedom.

The representative of Orb already knew automatically who was the pilot of the mobile suit, even before the pilot had contacted every suit and ship in its vicinity to cease the useless fighting.

Kira.

He was here.

Kira.

Her twin brother.

The boy who shared with her a mother they had never known.

He was here. He had come… at what may be the most desperate time for everyone living on the planet below.

And yet it baffled her with even more questions.

Why was here? Had he realized that severity of Junius Seven's descent, and was willing to the pilot the Freedom again to come all this way and… try and stop it himself?

They at least contacted each other before she and Athrun departed for the PLANTS to meet with Chairman Durandal at Amory One. These days she could see that he was in a better place than when he was after the end of the war. She knew that it had taken a toll on him. On his mind and his spirit. Especially with what happened at Jachin Due.

She knew that it would be best that he would be far away from any mobile suit from now on.

And now… here he was.

While she felt immediate concern for what Kira's well-being was going through, now that she had seen him in the middle of the battlefield, the last ideal place he should be…

She couldn't deny the relief she was feeling seeing him here. And that was added by the divine visage the Freedom brought with it.

Kira was not like any other pilot she had known before. On the battlefield, he was the best kind of fighter. Whether in the Strike or in the Freedom, Kira always pulled through to put a stop to the carnage from unfolding. And he always would make it. Even if he detested the battle and weapons, he did it only for the sake of preserving life.

The moment she heard his voice on the comm, she wished if by any way to contact him immediately. To hear his voice talking to her. To ask for his well-being. To ask if everyone down at the orphanage were alright. To let him know that Athrun was on the battlefield in a mobile suit of his own; that they could not only fight together, but watch out for one another like before. For both of them to come back to her safely…

She had been getting ahead with these thoughts… till something sudden happened next.

The brief ceasefire and hope the Freedom had brought with its intervention had been swept under the rug when crimson beams had shot down several ZAKU's and GINN's. And Cagalli and the bridge saw mobile armors of kind they hadn't seen before and started the havoc again. It was confirmed to be a separate faction, evidenced when it started attacking the rogue GINN's, ZAFT's ZAKU's, the Minvera's mobile suits, and Bogey One's stolen Gundams.

But Cagalli noticed something else. Despite attacking everyone, the mobile armors, along with the bizarre red mobile suit, were focused more on only one unit with interest:

The Freedom.

They were attacking and focusing more on the Freedom!

On Kira!

"Dammit!" Yzak cursed. "Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!" He kept cursing as he pushed the Blaze ZAKU Phantom to cut open the strange mobile armors attacking him and what remained of his team. He put his shoulder cannons to overheat as they barreled green beams that tore apart the white armors that started to swarm around them like hornets.

These were not human; he was sure of it.

This was not how the mission was supposed to go! It was supposed to be simple! Both the Voltaire and the Rousseau would have been enough to fix the whole thing. To apply the meteor breakers in place around the asteroid, and when they applied, the whole damn crater would be split into pieces before they even reach an inch towards Earth's gravity.

It was going as he would have expected… till Dearka and his team were ambushed.

And by who? By a pack of measly GINN's?

That was when it started going downhill from there.

Yzak gritted his teeth thinking about those annoying GINN's, and the fact that still some of them were still kicking around and causing more trouble around the asteroid. But what caused him concern more than fury… was with how skilled they were. And how they managed to kill a dozen soldiers.

The captain of the Joule Team could tell that they were not only Coordinators like him, but… they even had experience. No doubt they had to be veterans who had fought and survived the war not too long ago. And they were making good on using their GINN's against their new ZAKU Warrior models.

The ZAKU Warrior; the new mass-produced model that were to succeed the GINN model as thanks to the new Millenium Project. He would admit at times he missed the Duel, and how he grown accustomed to it during the final days of the war. However, as per agreement with the Junius Treaty, many weapons, including those that had been stolen from the Earth Alliance had to be closed from use, and that included Yzak's Duel, along with Dearka's Buster.

The Slash ZAKU Phantom may not have been the Duel, but it made up in being more effective and more advanced than either a DINN or a CGUE unit.

But it hardly mattered. What mattered was how he could pilot it.

Then those three G-Weapons appeared, and added to the mess.

Then the calvary arrived in the form of the Minerva, at least bring a G-Weapon of its own. But what baffled him the most, was when that piloting one of the ZAKU's, and just by hearing his voice… that unmistakable voice.

Athrun.

Seriously?! Of all the places, and times?!

Hardly the place for a friendly reunion between the last three members of the Le Cresuet team.

But then that idiot had the audacity to acting like he was taking lead of the operation.

Did that idiot think he was still his superior?

The bastard with his stupid habits. What point did he not understand about being a civilian now?!

To make it worse, Dearka laughed. He had the audacity to laugh at his captain and for Athrun to hear!

At least Shiho was not present for this.

Oh, why the hell was he thinking about her just now?! Not at a time like this! Not when he and the other ZAKU units avoid a beam blast from the crimson red enemy battleship streaking across from the Minerva, and the mobile armors coming from it.

The rogue GINN's and the stolen G-weapons had departed, but those mobile armors were proving to be a nuisance.

"Yzak!"

The white-haired captain looked to see Dearka in his black-colored Gunner ZAKU Warrior unleashed a deadly barrage of a red beam that vaporized a white mobile armor fighter that had been gunning towards them.

"We're to regroup back with the Minerva!"

"What?!"

"It's from the Chairman onboard!"

"The Chairman?!"

ZAFT Battleship LHM-BB01 Minerva

"Captain!" Arthur Trine, her second-in-command. "All mobile suits have returned to the docking bay. Captain Joule and his team have joined us!"

"All of them?" Captain Talia Gladys said. "Are there any news on where Shinn and Alex Dino are?"

"Ath… I mean Alex Dino's ZAKU followed after the Freedom towards the other half of Junius Seven," Arthur answered with grimace. "The Impulse followed after them."

Dammit…

Talia wanted to make a fist in frustration. And how this complicated things.

She would be given no choice but to risk them.

"Attention! All hands to your battle stations!" She proclaimed to all those present on the bridge. "We are going to engage Bogey Two!" She stared at the crimson red carrier a way across from the Minerva, and the endless the enemy mobile armors emerging from it and had been attacking them non-stop.

"Bogey Two?" She turned to the Chairman giving her curious look. "Were calling it that now, captain?"

She sighed as he was now giving that look again.

It honestly didn't matter what to call refer to it as, not when she or anyone had no knowledge of who they were dealing with. It was the same matter with the same ship that had been responsible for attacking Armory One and stealing three of their G-Weapons. To be dealing with another unknown party that had been nothing but hostile was drawing on her nerves. The only benefit was realizing that they were not associated with 'Bogey One' as their mobile armors, along with that bizarre red mobile suit had started attacking them, along with everyone present.

She had hoped to use this opportunity to call out to 'Bogey One,' due to both of them apparently now sharing a common enemy in 'Bogey Two.' She even held to the foolish hope that they would at least agree to a ceasefire or a temporary truce. Especially, when the situation was now desperate. She was reminded that when she glanced again upon the other half of the dead colony… now descending faster towards the Earth's atmosphere.

When they saw the flares coming from afar, and the three stolen G-Weapons withdrawing, she had thought for a moment that they had got their message. Until she realized why…

"Chairman," Talia Gladys addressed. "I ask that you and Representative Atha take your leave. There's a ship waiting to take both of you safely to the Voltaire."

"What?" Representative Atha exclaimed.

"Bogey Two stands between us and the falling half of the asteroid. As long as it stands in our way, we won't be able to deploy our main cannons to destroy it."

"WHAT?!" Arthur exclaimed, while Meyrin turned her chair to look at her. "C-Captain, you can't be…"

"I have to be," Talia said. "I don't know how much more we can do, but it wouldn't be right… if we didn't try everything we could."

It wasn't just a risk… but it was so much to do… with so little time running out.

Even if they manage to overcome and beat back Bogey Two, then they would barely have time to descend and…

"Talia…" She looked up at the Chairman, still seated. "I applaud your plan, and appreciate your concern for my well-being… but I afraid I'm going to decline."

"What?" The bridge turned silent, now turning their attention on Gilbert Durandal.

"I intend see this crisis to the end with you."

"Chairman…" Was he being serious? "Please. If something were to happen to the Minerva, with you on it…"

"And that's why I'm putting my faith in you and everyone on board," He gave a small smile. "You always have been the women of luck, Talia."

The woman paused at that, and almost caused her sigh with frustration. Was he being foolish, right now? Was he letting his personal feelings get in the way…?

"I'm staying as well!" Talia glanced at Cagalli Yula Atha, and noticed the resolute fire on her face. "If the Minerva is going to throw everything it has… then I would be foolish to flee as well."

She would applaud such commendable courage, but surely, they both knew the responsibilities they had as important statespersons…

"Captain!"

They were running out of time.

"All hands!"

The Minerva started moving towards the crimson carrier.

She couldn't guarantee the safety of the two people behind her seat. It could be that their feelings were going against protocol.

She didn't know Representative Atha that much, but she had displayed a fiery heart when defending the ideals of her nation.

Another could be the concern of her bodyguard, who had already gone and was in the middle of the battlefield. Well, 'bodyguard' seemed farfetched. Besides the matter of his true identity, she noticed clearly how the teen was rarely seen without Representative Atha. How he would always be by her side during the stay throughout the voyage. And in-between she noticed the small things. The assuring gazes, and even noticed them locking hands together.

They were young, just like she and…

She glanced to look at Gil, who still sat with a strange look on his face. It was that look she couldn't decipher. For as long as she knew him, he was not the average kind of person. While sometimes his attitude could easily be mistaken for apathy or amusement, she knew there was more to it than that. He always managed to keep his emotions in check, and knew when it was right to do so…

Then she noticed a strange look coming upon him earlier. When the Freedom mobile suit had appeared in the middle of the battlefield, and its pilot calling out to all those in the area.

Talia had not seen Gil look so surprised and at loss for words when he, like everyone on the bridge beheld the white mobile suit on the monitor. And it took something else that would catch him off guard.

She too was honestly caught off guard by the Freedom's entrance. Especially, when it was supposed to have been destroyed. So, why…?

It was after he overcame the shock, that Gil adopted a different look when observing the monitor screen and the ensuing battle ongoing. An almost inquisitive look across his feature, and his amber eyes now keeping straight like a hawk.

Phantom Pain Battleship Girty Lue

"Are Sting and the others back now?" Neo Roanoke asked the ship's captain sitting right next to him on the bridge.

"Yes, Commander," The middle-aged Earth Alliance veteran answered. "While their mobile suits will need heavy repairs, they remain physically well."

"Good," Neo nodded. Things had gotten a tad bit messy upon this mission. The interference of that that white G-weapon had caused quite the ordeal. He could see now why the Freedom unit had been considered dangerous unit during the war. It was supposed to have been destroyed during the Battle of Jachin Due, but until today that had been proven false.

"Commander." Ian Lee said, his voice uneasy as they continued looking at the falling half of the great asteroid. "It's still falling. It's going to…"

"I know…"

"There's nothing else we can do here." That was the harsh reality Neo knew. He saw Lee glancing at him, as if wanting to read the expression on his face. If it hadn't been for the mask that covered half of his head, Neo wondered what expression he was making.

Many things were going through his head. And this day's battle turned into something else entirely.

"Withdraw the ship as far you can from any eyes. We can't involve ourselves more in what is about to unfold," He ordered the captain, who nodded, albeit with reluctance washing over his face. Neo Roanoke turned and glanced once more to the falling half of the dead colony.

All that was left was to observe what will happen next. And the consequences that would come after.

Junius Seven.

He never thought that he would return here after all these years. And the first time he had come here… felt like it had been a different lifetime ago.

Here where he had arrived with the Archangel, having fled from Artemis, and beholding what was left from the carnage and devastation that had taken place years ago.

He could still remember that one GINN scout unit he had shot down. He remembered in that one moment how he prayed that it would just move on without spotting him or the Archangel, and thereby avoid a fight. And then it caught sight of his friends moving the supplies they had found on the asteroid.

He was confronted with the deadly choice of either his friends or the lift of the GINN pilot.

He pulled the trigger and the green beam vaporize the GINN before it could shoot down his friends. And Kira couldn't stop the tears from spilling out. He had taken another life with his own hands, just as it had started on Heliopolis.

He hated it. He hated fighting. He hated war.

It was shortly after then… when he spotted a floating pod in the midst of the ruins. And it had to have been from the abandoned ship the GINN scout had been investigating.

And he remembered clearly when he brought that pod to the Archangel's hangar.

"You seem to have a knack for bringing things back, don't you?" Ensign Natarle Badgiruel noted to him while Murdoch worked on opening the pod.

And the first thing that came through… was a Pink Haro. That caught all of them off guard, many of them staring confused as the sphere-shaped robot floated among them and repeatedly exclaiming.

But that didn't compare to who came after it. He would never forget that moment. The moment he set his upon her for the first time.

Yes, it was coming to Junius Seven… that led him to meeting her for the very first time. And how he was so transfixed by her. Her bright smile. Her soft voice.

This was the place where it began for them…

And now… this place was about ready to crash towards the Earth.

"EYES FRONT, BRAT!"

Kira grunted as he made the Freedom pull back to avoid the number of beams coming from the Egg Dragoon's arm cannon, and the explosions ripping out the crust and dust clouds between them.

"How about this?!"

The Freedom had lost his shield a while back, and it had to pull up its beam shield for protection from the multiple blasts coming straight for him. Then came the barrage of missiles launching from the Egg Dragoon's back and…

The Gundam's head looked up, from the sides of his helm a pair of Picus machine guns fired at the incoming missiles and made bright explosions in front of it, even as it pushed reverse in full thrust to avoid it.

The Egg Dragoon came again and pulled out its spiked mace from its left arm. The Freedom held up its arm to activate the beam shield to stop it. Before they broke off, and the Kira swung his beam saber and slashed at him. They made distance between one another, and the Freedom pulled up his assault rifle and fired green beams accompanied by the yellow shots from both the railguns at his hips.

Unfortunately for him, the Egg Dragoon had produced a shield of its own to reduce the damage. The next thing it did after discarding it, was a sudden dash and flinging its left mace in chain and that flew straight towards the Freedom, who brought up his beam saber to deflect it.

"Are you insane?!" Kira yelled.

"Huh?" He heard back.

"Will you stop this madness at once!" Kira called out to the madman in the attacking mech. "This whole place coming down to the surface! Millions are at stake here!"

"You think I'm stupid not to know that, brat?!" His opponent sneered he swiped his weapon, causing the Freedom to whip his pink beam saber to block.

"Ask yourself, Dr. Robotnik!" Kira called out with the man's real name. "Do you not care for what is happening?! Do you not care to stop what disaster will come upon everyone down on Earth?!

There had been a pause… and Kira thought he saw the Egg Dragoon pause its onslaught.

"Perhaps…" He heard the doctor's voice. "But unfortunately… in the grand scheme of things…"

"No…" Kira shook his head.

"Only one thing matters more…"

Kira's instincts flared and he had the Freedom dodge the Egg Dragoon's shoulder cannon's burst.

"Don't think you can ask me for help, boy! I have been both patient and generous the past two times before… but only sought to spit on my face!" The doctor growled. "You and your little friends!"

"Doctor…"

"I am taking what belongs to me!" The Egg Dragoon fell back. "But not before I crush you and that stupid hedgehog once and for all!"

Kira's instinct flared before he noticed the spark coming from the center of his red-colored opponent, and the Freedom jumped to miss the crystal laser beams firing at him. He still had to keep moving as the thick laser moved towards him.

"OH-HOHOHOHO!"

Kira had come to hate that laugh.

"Okay… not going as quickly as you hoped it would be… right, Sonic?"

Wearing a spacesuit to keep him breathing, and a sort of jetpack that allowed him to move throughout the zero gravity of the asteroid… this definitely wasn't Sonic's best time.

"C'mon! C'mon! Where are you?!" He pushed the jetpack to scour across the ruins of the colony… hoping to catching that red glint of a certain…

"No time like the present." He was pushing his luck. If it weren't the common thing about this space not allowing gravity for him to run on, then he would have found the last one across this barren rock, and make due…

He was pushing his limits. With how much his jetpack can go. How much time Kira could hold off Baldy McNose Hair. The mad doc really came for them prepared. Bringing not only a bigger army and carrier, but even a different mech suit of his own. The Egg Dragoon look bigger and badder than the last time Sonic saw it.

And that because he had Kira Yamato and his Mobile Suit Gundam in mind.

Yep, Kira was not a fast hedgehog, but he really found a way to topple Eggman's ego the last time.

On the other side of the asteroid, Kira was putting another match with the Egg Head, while on the other side, the hedgehog could see two other mobile suits, being the green cyclops and another suit that look so much like the Freedom, were now dealing with Eggy's leftover toy set.

And it was ticking towards what could be... the end of the world.

...

...

"What could make my day?"

He spoke too soon.

"AH!" The hedgehog felt himself being thrown in the air when another missile from Egg Dragoon's next barrage came near his area. Sonic struggled to gain balance and control again with the jetpack he had, lest he would start flailing towards the void that was space. Dust clouds and debris from the ghost town of the city below spread in front of him.

And just somehow… by mere luck… it had to be…

A small glint… something that he couldn't miss. Not since it stood out from the debris and dust clouds around him…

It had to be…

"Come on, jetpack… don't fail me now!"

Even with the dust cloud and debris in his vision, Sonic dared not to stop and lose that glint again.

It was life and death. It was literally the life and death of everyone down below.

He was getting closer.

He was running on fumes through the debris…

It would be worth it. It had to be.

Closer.

Never mind the screeching sounds of the green beams shooting. Or the vibration of the missile barrages shaking the ground.

Closer.

He felt his breath hold when he beheld the visage of the sparkling indigo emerald flailing through the debris… before he…

"GOT IT!" He could nearly cry for joy. "I HAVE IT NOW!" He turned in the direction of his partner. "KIRA! BUDDY, I GOT IT! I GOT THE LA…"

He didn't get to say more, when he realized his error when something hit the ground in front of him… and his body went up along with the explosion.

The last thing he heard before his mind drifted black was Kira screaming:

"SOOONIIICCC!"

Marshall Islands

Orb Union

Lacus Clyne shuddered as she felt a stinging feeling waving through her, and she was certain it was the strong breeze of the wind pushing past her face and her long pink hair. She felt the breeze and air from the ocean waves in front of her as she stood with her feet on the sandy beach.

It would been a tranquil evening for this kind of time. When she and Kira would walk across the sandy beach.

She looked to see how it had changed.

The dark evening sky started to turn red when the great husk of the asteroid was now visible high up in the sky. Its surface now turning into a burning red as it started to make its way to the planet's atmosphere.

While she stood alone transfixed by the sight, she felt that she could feel the feelings of fright and horror that were coming from the billions living on the same surface as her. And those who were not ready for what they inevitably feared…

However, the girl felt something else amidst that sea of fear and despair. And it was something that called faith. Something that stood a rock in the midst of the chaotic sea. And with it, she hoped that it would reach out for those in need of it.

To the one she had given her heart to.

And to another she had trusted to watch over her beloved.

Both of them… she knew will return… and when they did…

...

...

The world will forever change.
