I don't own The Walking Dead. I only own OC's.
Sorry if you find any grammar mistakes. I'm still learning English because it's not my first language.
The sun had come down from the top of the sky and the darkness fell over Savannah. The group was gathered in the backyard, doing some final preparations before their Crawford raid as they waited for Vernon to return and lead the group into the sewers. Everyone held whatever weapon they had on them in ready, knowing it will become handy during their operation in case things went wrong which was something all of them hoped wouldn't happen. Mark and Clementine stayed on the side, silently watching their group prepare to leave the mansion for their mission.
"Check out what I found in the garage." Kenny smiled at Lee and Jack as he walked out of the shed, "Hatchet, hacksaw, some other tools. Might come in handy on this little break-in."
Lee smiled back at him, "Nice."
"Yeah. It will definitely help us out." Jack nodded in agreement, equally as pleased by this information as Kenny grabbed a hatchet for himself.
Kenny shifted his gaze between the two, "Can I talk with you two for a minute?"
Jack nodded, "Sure."
Lee raised his brow, "What's up?"
"I took another look at the boat. She's a 30-footer." Kenny explained.
Lee looked between them with a questioning look on his face, "What's wrong?"
Jack crossed his arms, "Judging from your tone, I'm guessing we have a problem."
"We have." Kenny nodded in confirmation, "A capacity problem to be exact. Boat that size ain't gonna hold more than five people, even with one of them a kid."
Lee shook his head at this information, knowing they had a problem here as he looked over his shoulder at their group, "...Me, you, Jack, Clem, Christa, Omid, Mark, Travis, Ben, Chuck, Molly..."
Jack sighed, "Over half of our will have to stay behind..."
"Yeah, pal. That's my concern." Kenny nodded in agreement, "Assuming everyone makes it back alive, that's still one too many, even if we cut Molly loose. Before this is over, we're gonna have to make a decision.."
Lee shook his head, "You're not serious."
"Look, I'm just saying, if we want the best chance of..." Kenny began to say but was cut off from saying more when the gate made a noise. signalling everyone it was opened and saw Vernon and his friend Brie walking into the backyard.
Kenny gestured to Brie with a questioning look on his face, "Who is she?"
"This is Brie." Vernon introduced Brie to the group, "She can help us."
Lee looked at Brie with an interested look on his face, "Help us? How?"
"I was a student at the school Crawford keeps their supplies. I know the layout." Brie explained.
"You're right." Jack agreed with Vernon, knowing Brie can really help them with her knowledge, "She can help us in Crawford."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's get moving." Molly said, beginning to head towards the gate.
"She's right. Let's go." Travis nodded in agreement as he followed her and walked past Ben. He patted him on his shoulder to signal him to follow him, "Let's go Benji. Time to play breaking and entering."
"Yeah..." Ben nervously agreed with him as he pushed himself into walk to follow Travis and Molly. Everyone aside from Lee, Mark and Clementine began to move out a second later, intending to make this operation as smooth and quick as possible.
"Hold up just a sec." Lee called out for them, making all of them stop dead in their tracks and look over their shoulders at him. He turned around to face Clementine a second later and adressed her, "You understand why you have to stay behind, don't you?"
"I guess..." Clementine reluctantly nodded as Chuck shook his head in disapproval, being against Clementine staying behind for their Crawford raid.
Lee nodded back at her and shifted his gaze to Mark, "Mark. I'm trusting you with watching over Clementine, Omid and the house."
"I will do my best. You don't need to worry." Mark reassured him.
Lee nodded back at him, "I know."
"What should I do if something happens while you're gone and Mark will be unable to protect me?" Clementine wanted to know.
"Here, I want you to take this." Lee said as he held pistol out to Clementine, "You remember how to use it, don't you? It's just like I showed you."
Clementine nodded in confirmation as she took the pistol from him, "I remember."
"So if anyone tries to get inside the house that isn't one of us, or if something does happen to Omid and Mark won't be there for some reason..." Lee began to say to her.
"I know what to do." Clementine cut him off, knowing what he was about to say. She hugged Lee a second later and Lee hugged her back. She pulled away from him a second later and felt Mark place his hand on her shoulder.
"Let's get you inside." He told her as Clementine turned around to face him and gave him a nod. The two turned away from the rest of their group a second later, sharing their final farewell with them and went into the mansion, closing the door behind them. The rest of their group left the mansion shortly after, making their way towards their new destination.
"This should be it. We're right underneath the center of Crawford. The old school should be directly above us." Vernon explained as the group was underneath a manhole that he and Brie had led them to. The group had to admit. His and Brie's knowledge of the sewers was a great help when it came to making their way to Crawford as soon as possible.
"Okay, people, this is it." Lee looked around his group upon hearing his words, "Remember the plan. We stay quiet, we stay hidden, and we stay together. We find what we need and we get the hell out before anyone even knows we're there. Got it?"
Everyone gave their confirmation and readied themselves as Lee made his way up the ladder. Pushing the covering at the top up just enough to take a look at his surroundings, Lee made sure there wasn't anyone nearby. He signalled his group to follow him right after as he climbed out fo the sewers, followed by the rest of his group.
"Where is everybody? There should be guards patrolling." Vernon muttered to himself.
"What? Are you disappointed?" Jack asked the older man.
Vernon shook his head, "It's just strange, is all."
"Could they be switching shifts?" Chuck asked.
"Maybe...but it's strange." Vernon replied.
Ben shook his head with a nervous look on his face, "I don't like this. Not one bit."
"You'll get through this, Benji." Travis offered her some support, "You'll see."
Ben nodded at him, "Okay."
Kenny saw the movement at the end of the street and pointed, "There. I see one fucker."
"Okay. Me and Jack will take him our quiet. The rest of you wait here for our signal." Lee ordered as Jack nodded at him and took out his police baton, ready to use it.
Lee and Jack stayed down as they walked into the streets. Moving silently towards the man's back, Jack tightened his grip around his police baton in order to prepare himself to take him down. When they both reached the guard, Jack got himself into a standing position with his hatchet raised as Lee held monkey wrench in ready, ready to support him in case if things go wrong. It was when the guard turned around, revealing himself to be a walker.
"What the fuck?" Lee exclaimed in suprise as Jack quickly shook off his suprise and swung his police baton, knocking it down and hitting it until it dead. The rest of the group made their way to them.
Chuck looked at the deceased walker with a suprised look on his face, "What is a walker doing here?"
Jack looked at Vernon questioningly, "Isn't this supposed to be a survivor community?"
"I'm asking myself the same thing." Vernon told him.
"Something tells me that there isn't much people left." Chuck muttered.
Travis opened his mouth to say something, but his words died in his throat when he saw some movement not too far from him and his group. Walkers started climbing and walking out of every hole around them and started filling the street.
"Guys! We have a problem!" He shouted, pointing towards the walkers.
"Shit!" Lee's eyes widened at the amount of walkers heading towards him and his group, "Everyone to the school! Now!"
The group wasted no time and immediately headed towards the school. After making sure everyone was inside, Lee made sure to close the door to prevent the walkers from entering the school. They ran up the stairs and bursted through a door into a hallway of lockers, with Vernon and Brie making sure to close the doors behind them.
Kenny shook his head, "Fuck. Fuck! Do you think they saw us?"
"Definitely." Lee sighed as Ben gulped nervously.
Jack sighed, "Otherwise they wouldn't be heading towards us when we made our way into the school."
"What the hell happened here? I thought this place was supposed to be secure!" Christa asked.
Jack nodded in agreement, "That's what I asked outside."
"What always happens, I guess." Molly stated, "In the end, the dead always wins."
Travis put his hand on his chin, "Do you think they didn't know?"
Vernon looked at him questioningly, "Didn't know about what?"
"How the infection spreads." Travis replied, "It's not just the biting that turns people. You come back as one of those things no matter how you die unless you destroy the brain."
"He's right." Lee nodded as Vernon, Brie, Molly, Christa and Chuck were shocked by this revelation, "We all saw it happen back in our old home."
"We're all infected?" Molly pinched the bridge of her nose, "Fuck."
Jack gave her a comforting pat on her shoulder, "Yeah. Our reaction was the same when Ben and Travis told us about it after they joined our group."
"Well...fuck." Molly cursed.
Ben shook his head nervously as he looked around himself, "This is bad..."
"Actually I think the opposite." Vernon said, "It just made things simpler for us."
Ben looked at him questioningly, "What do you mean?"
"Before, everyone in Crawford was smart and had guns. Now they're dumb and and they don't." Vernon explained.
Chuck nodded in agreement, "It can work in our benefit. At least we won't have to worry about other people jumping at us."
"Let's go." Kenny pushed himself into walk, "The plan hasn't changed."
Brie followed him, "Follow me. Come on, I think I know which way to head."
"I got a bad feeling about this." Ben whispered to himself as he and the rest followed Brie and Kenny.
The group found themselves standing in front of a door a few moments later. Lee opened the door and took a look into the room, seeing it was a large classroom. He signalled everyone to come in after making sure it was safe. The group split up around the classroom as Jack saw a door nearby named 'arsenal'. He walked over to it and reached out his good hand towards it. He tried to open it, but the door wouldn't open.
"Of course." He muttered to himself, "It would be too easy if it was open."
Christa looked around herself, "Looks like they were using this room as some sort of command centre."
"Okay, so now what?" Molly asked, "Where do we start looking?"
"Here." Brie said as she walked to the hand-drawn map and pointed at it. Everyone followed her to the map, allowing themselves to take a good look at it.
"Any idea where we could find a battery?" Lee questioned, his eyes set on the map.
"Maybe at the auto shop?" Vernon suggested as he pointed at one spot on the map, "There used to be one in the alley outside the fire escape."
Brie nodded in agreement, "Yup, it's called Herman's, you can't miss it."
"Where can we find some fuel for the boat?" Kenny asked.
"There's a maintenance shed across from the playground here." Brie replied as she pointed at one spot on the map, "If they were storing fuel that's probably where it'll be."
"Where would be the best place to look for medicine?" Christa asked.
Molly pointed at the map, "Right here. Nurse's station, they were using it as a medical facility."
Christa raised her brow at her, "How do you know that?"
Molly blinked, looking nervous for a second, "Just makes sense, doesn't it?"
"Someone should try to get the armory door open." Travis pointed at the armory door behind them, "This way we could replenish our stock of weapons."
Lee nodded in approval, "Good idea, Travis."
"Alright. We already know where to head." Jack nodded to himself, "So. Who's going where?"
Lee looked around himself, seeing which members of his group he had available. There was him, Kenny, Jack, Jessica, Ben, Travis, Molly, Vernon, Brie and Chuck. There were teen people to assign for four jobs. Unfortunely it would make one group or two groups have less members because of their numbers being uneven. Now he had to figure out who was best suited for each task.
"Christa, Chuck and Vernon." Lee said, making the said four look at him, "You will go get the medication. Vernon has medical experience so it will be for the best if you'll go there and gather all the medication we need. Christa and Chuck should go with you to keep you protected in case if you still stumble upon any walkers on your way there."
"Got it. It's where I wanted to go myself." Christa voiced her understanding to him as Chuck and Vernon silently nodded at ihm.
"Ben and Travis should stay here with the kids and try to get the armory door open." Lee explained next.
Travis nodded at Lee, slightly disappointed he wasn't going to get the fuel or the battery, "Fine. I'll get the armory door open before you'll make it back here. You'll see."
"We'll see." Lee nodded back at him.
"Me, Kenny and Brie should go get the fuel." Lee said, "Brie knows the layout of this place so she should take you the quickest and safest way to fuel."
Kenny nodded at him, agreeing with it, "That's what I was thinking."
"Can I go with you?" Ben asked.
"No, three people's enough." Kenny glanced at him and shook his head as Ben looked down with a regretful look on his face, "You stay here with Travis like Lee said and see if you can use any of those tools we brought to get that armory door open. We might need to shoot our way out of here."
Jack shifted his gaze to Molly, "It just leaves the two of us to get the battery."
"Looks like it." Molly returned his gaze, "Just don't slow me down out there, alright?"
Jack shook his head, "Wouldn't dream of it."
Jack nodded to himself, "Alright. With everyone assigned to their jobs, we should all head out. The sooner we get everything done and go back to the mansion, the better."
Kenny nodded at him, "Let's move out."
"Be safe everyone." Chuck added.
"Try to come back in one piece." Travis added, moving towards the armory door with Ben. The group split up and left the classroom a few seconds later, heading out to do the jobs they had been assigned to by Lee with hopes of getting them done as soon as possible.
The first thing Jack noticed when he walked out of the school was silence of the darkened streets of Crawford. He knew they he let this lower their guard, though as he knew there was a high possibility of something jumping at him in an attempt bite into him out of nowhere. He looked around as they went down the steps and reached the ground, quickly noticing Molly was nowhere to be seen.
Her sudden obviously disappearance made him question where she was, but he knew they couldn't call out for her to see if she was somewhere nearby as he knew it would lead the walkers straight to him. The rest of the way to the autoshop was quiet as well. He was blocked off by a metal fence, but managed to find a way over it by climbing through the roof on the shed.
It was when the garage door found itself in his view. At the end of the alley, there were a couple of walkers wandering around but Jack didn't thought much of them as he knew they wouldn't possess much of a threat to him if he'll stay quiet. The lone man tried to get the garage door open shorty after. He opened it enough to form a chasm, but not enough to pass through. It didn't budge any further.
"Dammit. It's locked." He whispered to himself, shaking his head, "It doesn't like there's a secondary entrance either. What am I going to do now?"
He scratched his head, trying to come up with a solution for this problem. He was pushed away from his thoughts as a bald walker dressed in the medical clothes fell down from the sky. He set his eyes on the walker as soon as it landed on the ground, splattering blood around it.
"What the...? Where did he come from?" He asked himself, looking at the walker with suprise written all over his face.
"Leave him. He's mine." Molly's voice rang through his ears as he looked in the direction of it, seeing Molly at the other end of the alley.
"There you are." Jack said as Molly pulled out her pickaxe and moved towards him, "Where the hell have you been?"
Molly ignored him, acting like he wasn's standing in front of her and made her way to the fallen walker. Not wasting any time, she started to kick the walker. She stopped kicking it after a few kicks. It didn't mean she was done with the walker, though as she started bringing down her pickaxe at it, stabbing the undead repeatedly with it.
"Molly!" Jack whisper yelled to Molly in order to gain her attention, "What the hell are you doing?"
"What?" She looked over his shoulder at him, annoyed by his question, "Never saw anyone kill a geek before?"
"Not like THAT." Jack pointed out as Molly let out a deep breath and stabbed the walker with her pickaxe for one last time. He's wearing medical scrubs. Some kind of scientist or doctor, maybe?"
"Yeah, well, he ain't shit now." Molly replied as she kicked the walker for one last time and turned around to look at Jack. She regained her composure and looked at the group of three with a questioning look on her face, "Did you find us a way in, blondie?"
Jack nodded and pointed at the garage, "Yeah, but the garage door's jammed, can't raise it."
Molly reached into her backpack and pulled out a car-jack, "Not a problem. Look what I found."
Jack took it from her and turned around towards the garage door. As he turned around, he saw all the noise Molly had just made with the walker from the roof didn't went unnoticed by the walkers at the end of the alley as the undead started to make their way towards him and his group.
"Take a look around. I'll make sure no stragglers get under this door." Molly told Jack.
Jack nodded at her and walked over to the hood of the semi-truck. He opened it and took a look inside. There were several slots, each one with the parts of the engine but the slot for the battery was empty, "Well, I can see where the battery SHOULD be. But it's not."
"Perfect." Molly commented dryly.
Jack looked up at the raised car, seeing a red light blinking on the windshield. Realizing it must have been an antitheft system gave him hope that he would find a battery inside. The control box was right next to the raised car. He guessed nothing would happen, due to the lack of power, but pressed the button anyway. When nothing happened, he examined the controls again and realized he will have to find some other way to lower it down. An idea popped into his mind when he saw a hose that stretched all the way to the lift.
He knew there was something he needed to do before putting his plan into motion, though. He walked over to Molly, wanting to talk with her about what happened in the alley, "What was all that about back there?"
"He came at me up on that rooftop, tried to take a bite out of me, so I took care of business." Molly replied, "What, you got a problem with me killing geeks?"
"No." Jack shook his head, "It just seemed like you went to town on him a little more than you needed to."
"Hey, you never really know when those things are all the way dead. I was just making sure." Molly responded, "Look, you should help your friends if you want to get this battery. Time's wasting."
"What do you think happened to Crawford?" Jack wanted to know.
"Don't know, don't care." Molly shrugged, "As far as I'm concerned these fuckers got what was coming to them."
Jack raised his brow, "Not a lot of sympathy for the people who died here, huh?"
Molly nodded in confirmation, "I have about as much for them as they did for the sick and the old and anyone else they didn't think was fit to belong in their little paradise. So, yeah, fuck 'em."
"I see. Fair point." Jack replied in understanding as he shifted his gaze to Molly's pickaxe, "Think I can borrow that hook thing of yours?"
Molly shrugged, "I don't know, Hilda and I have been through a lot together."
Jack raised his brow, "Hilda?"
"My hook. Don't judge." Molly explained.
"Please can I borrow Hilda?" Jack asked her, trying to make himself sound dramatic to reassure her that he will take care of her weapon well, "I'll take good care of her, she won't get a scratch."
"I got your promise now. Not a scratch!" Molly replied as she held Hilda out to Jack, allowing him to take it from her. She had to admit. Even his dramatic ask was a bit cringy, it was a bit amusing as well.
"I promise with my life." Jack promised in the same dramatic manner, making Molly roll her eyes. He made his way to the car a second later. Not wasting any time, he lifted up Molly's pickaxe above his head He brought it down on the hydrauilic hose, making a hole in it as the liquid started to leak out of it. He smiled to himself as the lift started coming down shortly after and shifted his gaze back to Molly. "See. Not a stratch."
Molly crossed her arms, "Alright, blondie. I'll give you that."
Their conversation got cut short a second later as the car came crashing down to the ground in a loud and quick motion when more liquid poured from the hose. It triggered the antitheft system and the alarm went off as soon as the car hit the ground.
"That's probably not good!" Molly stated.
"You think?" Jack replied with sarcasm evident in hos voice.
"Take a look into the car!" Molly told Jack as the walkers began swinging their fists at the garage door, with some of them kneeling down and sliding their arms into the autoshop. She tightened his grip around his pickaxe, ready to use it at any moment, "I'll try to keep them away!"
Jack nodded at them and quickly popped the hood open, seeing there was a battery inside, "There's the battery!"
"Take it out! Quickly!" Molly added.
Jack wasted no time as he quickly detached terminals and yanked the battery off, "I got it!"
Molly kicked the carjack, but it wouldn't budge, "Put it in my backpack! I'll carry i!"
Jack quickly ran up to her and unzipped her backpack, putting the carjack inside, "Okay. We have what we came here for. What do we do now?"
"Follow me." Molly replied as she moved towards the semi-truck and climbed on top of it via the ladder nailed on the vehicle's side.
Not wasting any time, Jack quickly followed Molly as Molly climbed to the top of the semi-truck. He glanced over his shoulder as he made his way to the semi-truck and saw at least a half of dozen of the undead in the autoshop. Once both him and Molly found themselves on top of the semi-truck, the autoshop became filled with the undead. The walkers underneath the semi-truck smashed their fists against the vehicle, making it wobble as Jack and Molly did their best not to lose balance.
"Great. Now what?" Jack asked.
"Skylight." Molly replied, pointing upwards.
Jack pulled out his shotgun and aimed it at the ceiling before firing a single shell. The shell shattered the glass and Molly wasted no time when it came to making her first move. She leaped up and got the grip of the rooftop with her pickaxe. Once she mantled up, she hung her hand down for Jack as Jack jumped up and reached out to her, managing to grab her hand mid-air. Not wasting any time, Molly quickly pulled him up to the rooftop.
"Great. Now we're on a roof." Jack said, frustated about this situation.
Molly rolled her eyes, "Do you ever stop complaining?"
"Excuse me for not liking when things don't go according to the plan." Jack replied with sarcasm evident in his voice as he looked around himself with hopes of finding a possible way down to the street, "How are we going to get down?"
"Just watch." Molly replied as she pushed herself into run towards the edge of the roof and jumped, hooking Hilda on the edge of the building next to them before hoisting herself up. Jack looked at her if she was crazy, feeling hesitant about doing it, "Come on, what are you, chicken? Jump!"
"Are you sure about this?" Jack asked with an uncertain look on hs face, "It seems too dangerous if you ask me
"There's isn't one!" Molly shouted, "Now come on and hurry."
"Okay. Here goes nothing I guess." Jack let out a deep breath to compose himself and sprinted towards the edge of the roof. Molly prepared herself as she saw him dashing across the rooftop. He leapt towards her and the rest as soon as he reached the edge as she stretched out her arm to him, grabbing him and hoisting him up. He let out a deep series of deep relieved breath as soon as he found himself on the roof with Molly, "I'm not...doing that...ever again."
Molly rolled her eyes at him, "Don't be dramatic, blondie."
"I'm not." Jack shook his head as he got himself into a standing position, "I'm being serious."
Molly chuckled, "If you say so."
"How do you even know how to do all of this?" Jack asked out of curiosity.
"Parkour. I used to do it a lot before this shit started." Molly answered, "This along with martial arts saved my ass a lot of times already."
"Parkour and martial arts? That's impressive."
Jack sounded and looked impressed by the activities Molly was doing in her free time before all of this, "And I thought I was doing crazy stuff because I was going to a shooting range from time to time."
Molly looked pleasantly suprised by it, "You were going to the shooting range? You can color me suprised. You don't look like the kind of a person that would go there back when the world was normal."
"A friend of mine from highschool had a father who owned a shooting range." Jack explained, "We were going there from time to time to hang out."
Molly nodded in understanding, "I see. A fun hanging out place if you ask me."
"It was. Let's go find a way into Crawford." Jack sad as Molly nodded at him. The four of them found a hole in the roof a few moments later and proceeded to drop down into Crawford, one by one. It was just matter of seconds before all of them found themselves back in Crawford. Well, all of them but Molly as she remained on the roof for some reason.
Jack looked up at Molly, "Come on."
"Later. Something I gotta do first." Molly replied.
Jack raised his brow at her, "What? What do you need to do?"
"Sightseeing." Molly replied, "Catch you later."
"Wait. What about the battery?" Jack asked.
"Yeah, I think I'll hold onto it, make sure you don't leave without me. See you back in class!" Molly replied as she made her way out of their view, leaving him alone.
"Dammit where did she go?" Jack thought to himself, shaking his head. He couldn't help but feel like Molly was hiding something. There was something off about how she went berserk on this one walker. It seemed almost personal to him. He once again shook his head, knowing he won't get any answers for her now and will have to wait until she'll come back to them as he started to make his way back to the classroom.
He never reached their destination as he was forced to stop dead in their tracks when Kenny, Lee and Brie bursted through the double doors, with latter two holding the gas cans. A large group of the undead was right behind them. Kenny quickly started trying to block the door to prevent the walkers from entering Crawford as Lee and Brie wasted no time and dropped everything to the floor.
"A little help!" Kenny shouted as Jack quickly made their way to them. With their combined efforts and thanks to Kenny and Jack's quick reaction, they managed to close the doors just in time. Knowing they had to place between the handles otherwise the undead will break into the school after they will let go off the doors, Kenny wasted no time and quickly placed his new hatchet between the handles.
"Think that'll hold?" Lee asked as all of them backed away from the door.
"It damn well better." Kenny replied as Brie and Lee picked up the gas cans from the floor.
Brie shook her head, "There's so many of them..."
Jack nodded in agreement, "We'll be in real trouble if someone will take this hatchet."
Kenny nodded, "Yeah. No shit."
Jack shifted his gaze from Kenny to Lee and Brie, "You got fuel."
Kenny shook his head, " Let's not start high fiving each other just yet.."
"We lost a lot of our ammo to keep them away from us." Lee added, letting out a sigh, "There better be something left in the armory otherwise we will have trouble with it."
"We can only hope. Let's just go back to the armory." Kenny replied, beginning to walk back to the armory as everyone followed him.
Lee, Jack, Brie and Kenny made their way back to the classroom a few moments later. Lee and Brie set down the gas cans, sighing and wiping their foreheads as Kenny, and Jack looked at Ben and Travis who were still trying to break into the armory. From the looks of it, it seemed like they weren't anywhere close to getting it open as well.
Travis looked over his shoulder at them, "Oh! Hey, guys!"
"How'd you guys make out?" Ben asked, having looked over his shoulder at them as well.
"We got the fuel." Kenny replied, pointing towards the gas cans.
Ben smiled, "Awesome. Good job, guys."
Jack crossed his arms, "How are you doing with the doors?"
Ben sighed, "Not so good."
"Those damn doors are closed with four trigger..." Travis added, annoyed by the trouble they've been having with the doors.
"Here, let me give you a hand." Kenny replied in understanding and pushed himself into walk towards them. Upon making his way to them, he looked over his shoulder at Jack, "You get that battery yet?"
Jack nodded in confirmation, "Yes. Molly has. She should be back soon."
"She better be." Kenny replied as he shifted his attention back to the door."
Jack sighed, "Yeah..."
Lee looked around himself and noticed Molly wasn't the only person from their group who hasn't returned from their assignment, "Vernon, Christa and Chuck aren't back, yet."
"So someone should go check on them." Brie suggested.
Lee nodded in agreement, "Yeah. You're not. I'm gonna go check on them."
"I'll go with you. It's not like I have much left to do here." Jack added as Lee nodded at him.
"Just come back quickly." Kenny told them, "We'll try to have those door open by the time you and the others will be back."
Lee nodded, "We will."
"We'll be back before you know it." Jack added
Jack and Lee exchanged glances with each other and nodded a second later. They left the classroom a second later and made their way to the nurse's station. As they neared the nurse's station, they stumbled upon a few umoving lifeless bodies of the undead with bullet holes in their foreheads. Growing worried for Chuck, Christa and Vernon because of this view, Lee pulled out his pistol while Jack pulled out his shotgun before the two finally reached the entrance to the nurse's station. He opened it and was immediately greeted by the view of Chuck aiming a revolver at him.
"Don't shoot. It's me." Lee said as soon as he saw Chuck aiming his gun gun at him.
Chuck lowered her revolver as soon as he laid her eyes on him, "Guys."
"You have a revolver?" Jack raised his brow, having only seen Chuck use a shovel until now.
Chuck nodded in confirmation, "Yes. I only use it in rough situations, though. I always make sure to keep one bullet left for me as well."
"I see." Jack replied in understanding.
Christa looked at Lee questioningly, "What are you doing here?"
"You haven't been back for a while and some people are starting to get worried so me and Jack decided to check on you to see if you stumbled upon any problem here." Lee explained, gesturing to himself and Jack.
Christa nodded in understanding, "I see."
Lee pointed behind him, "What's the deal with all those dead walkers outside?"
"They jumped at us when we were making our way here." Vernon explained, "Good thing your friend Chuck was here otherwise we would get trapped here."
Chuck sighed, "Too bad I had to use everything, including the last bullet on them."
"Have you gotten the medication?" Lee asked.
"No." Vernon shook his head, trying to open the safe, "Looks like they were keeping all the prescription meds in that safe - locked up tight."
"There's no way we can bust it open?" Lee asked.
"Maybe, with enough time." Vernon replied, "But I don't know how much of that we have. Be a hell of a lot quicker if we just knew the four digit combination."
"What about the battery and the fuel?" Christa asked, "Have you found it?"
Jack nodded in confirmation, "Yes. Everyone made it back safely from their jobs alive. We still haven't gotten the armory open, though but Ben , Travis and Kenny are working on it."
"Alright. Good to know." Christa replied in understanding.
"Let's look around the office." Lee suggested, "Maybe we'll be lucky enougb to find a clue how to get the safe open."
Jack, Vernon, Chuck and Christa silently agreed with him and wasted no time when it came to look for the combination to the safe. As the minutes passed, however, it seemed like Mother Luck wasn't going to smile down on them as they didn't found anything that could help them with the safe. At least it stayed like this until Lee opened a file and saw a picture of a woman labelled as Anna Correa.
"Anna Correa. I guess she must have been a patient here. And what's this?" He asked himself, noticing a video tape next to the Anna's picture. He took the tape and walked over to the nearby camcorder, intending to use it to watch the tape, "Everyone. Come look at this."
Jack, Vernon, Chuck and Christa gathered next to him around the camcorder and the video started playing a few seconds later.
"This is day eighty-two since the outbreak... fifteen forty-seven. Doctor Logan in consultation with patient Anna Correa." A doctor Jack immediately recognized as the walker Molly massacred in front of him in the alley earlier appeared in the group's view.
"Why are you recording this?" Anna asked, looking up at the doctor questioningly as Logan walked in front of the camera.
"Regulations. Oberson has ordered me to keep records of all medical examinations and consultations." Logan explained, "I need you to brace yourself, Anna. The sonogram confirms that you're pregnant."
Anna covered her face with her hands, her face going pale at this news, "Oh, God, oh, God, oh, God..."
"As you know, the rules are very clear. The termination is mandatory." Logan told her.
"You don't have to tell them." Anna pleaded, "Tell them it was just nausea, that you gave me something for it and it went away. This is my problem, not yours."
Logan shook his head at her pleading, knowing his hands were tied, "If Oberson finds out that I concealed evidence of a pregnancy, I'm sorry, but these are the rules. I'm gonna give you a sedative. It'll make the procedure easier on you."
"I don't want the procedure! I want my baby! I can't do this! I can't do this!" Anna shouted, breaking into tears.
"Anna, you don't have a choice. Now, if you like, you can take some time with this, but I need you to come back no later than tomorrow." Logan responded, "Or I'll have no choice but to inform Oberson myself. I'm sorry."
Anna got up from and rushed out of the room, slamming the door behind her. The doctor rolled his eyes just a second before the video ended.
"Jesus." Jack shook his head as Lee took the tape out of the camcorder with a saddened look on his face.
Vernon let out a frustated sigh, "Damn it, we almost had it!"
"What the hell kind of place was this?" Christa asked in shock.
Lee sighed, "The worst kind."
"Maybe there's another tape. We've got to keep looking." Vernon suggested.
Jack nodded in agreement, recalling where Dr. Logan was in his zombified state, "I think I know where to look. I'll be back in a few minutes."
"I'll go with you." Lee said, "It will be safer."
Lee nodded at him, "Alright."
Vernon nodded at him, "Okay. We'll wait for you here."
"Be careful out there, you two." Chuck told them.
"We will." Lee reassured her and left the nurse's station with Jack.
Jack arrived back at the nurse's station about ten minutes later. After leaving it all this time ago, they went back to the alley where Molly started massacring Dr. Logan's in his zombified state and found him still alive and trying to crawl his way out of the alley. After Lee ended his life once and for all by stomping his head, Jack searched his body and found an extra tape and a strange combination of numbers written on a piece of paper.
Upon taking a look at the combination on the paper, both Jack and Lee realized it couldn't have been for the safe as it had more numbers than the four digit combination Vernon had told them about. After making their way way back to the school and starting to making his way back to the nurse's office, both of them noticed a locker with Logan's name on it when they neared their destination. They decided to try out the combination on it and it worked.
After opening the locker, he and Jack took a look into it and saw there was another tape inside. He took it and put it in his pockets before closing the locker. He and Jack went back to what he was doing a few seconds earlier and made their way back to the nurse's office several seconds later. Just like before, everyone in the nurse's office stopped what they were doing and looked at them. Only this time they weren't greeted with a revolver aimed right at them.
Chuck smiled as soon as they walked into the nursery's station, "You're back."
"How did it go?" Christa asked.
"We found two more tapes. One of them is dated October tenth." Lee informed them.
Vernon smiled at the news, "That's the day after the first one we watched."
"Put it in." Christa said, gesturing to the camcorder.
The five of them gathered around the camcorder a few seconds later and Lee inserted the tape into the camcorder.
"Have you made a decision?" Logan asked, standing over Anna.
"I thought you said I didn't have a choice." Anna replied, nervousness evident in her voice.
"Well, technically you do. You can terminate the pregnancy or leave Crawford. Of course, that would be a death sentence for both you and your unborn child." Logan pointed out, taking out the sedatives from the last tape.
"Maybe that's best." Anna stated, "I stayed up all last night thinking about this. Why are we even trying to survive, to keep on living, if this is what it takes? If this is what it's turned us into?"
"I don't make the rules, Anna." Logan pointed out coldly.
"Doctor, I'm begging you. Please help me." Anna pleaded, tears going down her face.
"Maybe one day, when things are different, you can try again. But for now, today, we have to do this." Logan replied as he entered the code on the safe. Lee quickly zoomed in on the locker to get the code. Anna got up before he could open the safe, though and ran up to the desk before grabbing the medical tool. Anna ran behind Logan and stabbed him in the back, quickly grabbing his gun and running away.
"No, no, no..." Logan muttered, falling on the floor.
Lee sighed, both saddened and relieved, "I think we know what happened to Crawford."
"That was hard to watch." Christa stated with a saddened look on her face.
Jack shook his head, "This poor woman."
"More importantly, we've got the combination." Vernon said as he repeated the code from the tape on the keypad and smiled as the door buzzed and slung open while Christa looked deeply upset by what she had just watched. Something Lee and Chuck quickly took notice of, "We're in business. Antibiotics, morphine... we'll take as much of this as we can carry."
Jack nodded in a pleased manner, "Cool. Glad to know our efforts paid off."
"I couldn't have put it better myself." Vernon nodded in agreement.
Lee raised his brow at Christa, "Christa, are you alright? What's wrong?"
"You don't seem alright." Chuck added.
Christa brushed his concerns off, "It's nothing. That was just... hard to watch. Don't worry about me, I'm fine."
"Alright. Let's get those meds and get the hell out of here." Lee replied, remaining uncertain by her answer and so did Chuck as Vernon and Christa nodded in agreement at them leaving the nurse's office.
"You know, I found a third tape in a locker outside. Maybe there's something else on there?" Lee asked.
"We got the meds for mine and your group, that's all I care about." Vernon replied.
"If you want to know what this tape contains, we won't stop you from watching it." Chuck added, "I'm sure we'll make it back to the classroom safely."
"Just don't take too long." Vernon added.
Vernon, Lee, Chuck and Christa left the nursery's office right after, leaving Jack alone in it. Wanting to know what the last tape contained because he knew it wouldn't stop bothering him if he left it without watching it, he inserted it into the camcorder, switching it with the previous tape and the video it was containing started playing a few seconds later.
The tape started with Logan zipping up his pants, before nacking away from the camera and moving towards a woman who was buttoning her jacket. Jack immediately recognized this woman as it was Molly.
"Listen. As fun as this was, I have to put a stop to this little arrangement. This is the last I can give you." He told Molly, having just approached her.
"Why?" Molly asked.
"Oberson had someone down here yesterday taking inventory, he's really cracking down. I just can't risk it." Logan explained, opening the safe.
"We had a deal!" Molly pointed out, getting up from her seat.
"Yes. We had a deal. We don't anymore." Logan replied, not caring about whatever Molly was going through as he handed her the medicine.
"My sister needs this medicine. Without it, she'll die. Or she'll start showing symptoms and they'll take her away. I can't let that happen." Molly replied, desperation becoming evident in her voice as she took the medicine from Logan.
"I'm sorry, Molly. I've done all I can. But I have to look out for myself here." Logan stated selfishly.
"Yeah, that's the Crawford way, isn't it?" Molly scowled as she purposely bumped into Logan on her way out.
Jack shook his head, taking out the tape from the camcorder, "Well, shit."
Making a mental note to talk about it with her the next time he will see her, Jack walked out of the nursery's office and started to make his way towards the classroom as he knew he kept his group waiting for him longer than he had expected. On his way to the classroom, he looked up at the hole in the ceiling from earlier. Just as he passed this hole, Molly jumped through the hole and landed in the hallway.
Jack turned around to look at Molly with wide eyes, taken by suprise by her action, "Jesus Christ. You scared the shit out of me. Where the fuck have you been?"
"Sightseeing. I thought I told you this before I parted ways with you." Molly reminded him.
Jack narrowed his eyes at her, "I'll take that battery now."
"Oh... yeah, about that." Molly started to say as Jack looked at her with a shocked look on his face. She laughed at him in an amused manner as soon as she saw his reaction, "I'm just kidding. Here ya go."
"Not funny." Jack told her with an unamused look on his face as Molly took the battery out of her backpack and handed it to him. After putting it away, Jack looked at Molly and saw her holding something that looked like a photo, "What's that?"
"Nothing." Molly replied, moving the photo out of his view.
"You can quit with the act, Molly. I know you're from Crawford." Jack revealed, deciding to go straight to the point.
Molly's eyes widened at his words, "What? Who told you that?"
"I saw you on a security tape. Why'd you lie to me and my group?" Jack asked.
Molly sighed, "Are we really gonna do this now?"
"I guess that's up to you." Jack answered.
Molly let out another sigh, her expression softening, "I used to live here with my sister. She was fourteen years old. When the dead started walking and Crawford shut itself in, it seemed like a pretty good deal at first. We were safe, we had everything we needed to survive. Then the rules started coming down. No one who couldn't justify their place, earn their keep. No one who required special care. My sister was diabetic, and by Crawford's rules, that made her a liability. I kept it a secret. Kept her safe for as long as I could. But in the end, I couldn't protect her. That's when I got out. Crawford, they always talked about how their system worked, how anything was better than becoming "one of them". But I saw what they'd already become. I just wished I could have seen it before it was too late. Before they came and took my sister away."
She paused for a second and wiped a tear from her eye as Jack lowered his head with a saddened look on his face. It was when Molly showed him the photo of a young girl that she held, "This is all that I have left of her. I didn't have time to take it before I got out of Crawford. I just wanted it, okay?"
Jack slowly reached out to Molly and put his hand on her shoulder in a comforting manner, knowing the poor woman he needed someone to comfort her. Molly looked at Jack as Jack acted without think and pulled himself close to her and wrapped his arms around her in a comforting hug. Molly was a bit suprised by the hug at first, having not been expecting this but melted into it a second later. The two stayed like this for a moment.
Molly pulled away from him a second later and shot him a grateful expression, "Thanks, blondie."
"Anytime. We have to look out for each other, right?" Jack smiled back at her as Molly smiled back at him. Their shifted their attention away from each other a second later when bell began ringing out of nowhere.
Molly looked alarmed by it, "What the hell?"
"I think that's our cue to get the hell out of here." Jack replied as Molly nodded in agreement.
Both of them started to make their way towards the classroom. On their way to the classroom, Jack took a look at the door he had blocked with a hatchet earlier with Lee, Kenny, Chuck and Brie. The hatchet was nowhere to be seen. He raised his brow in confusion, keeping his eyes on the door as he kept walking with Molly until they reached the turn leading to the classroom. It was when Ben jumped out of the corner with his hatchet raised at him and Molly, scaring both of them.
Molly's eyes widened, "Jesus!"
"Ben?!" Jack asked with a suprised look on his face.
Ben put down the hatchet and looked at them with an apologetic look on his face, "Sorry, sorry. I just got spooked by those bells, and then I heard someone coming."
Jack looked at him questoningly, "What are you doing here?"
"Kenny, Travis and I still can't get the door open to the armory. He sent me out to look for something we can use to bust it open." Ben explained and held the hatchet out for Jack and Molly to see, "I found this."
Jack raised his brow, recognizing the hatchet, "Ben? Where did you get it from?"
Ben pointed behind them, "I just found it. It was stuck in the door handle at the end of the hallway back there."
Jack gulped, "Oh no..."
Just as he said those words, the door bursted open. The walkers entered the school's hallway, beginning to make their way towards him, Ben and Molly. He immediately pulled out his shotgun, intending to use it on the walkers as . Molly wasted no time and charged at the walkers. Molly stabbed a walker in the head with her pickaxe, kicked another and drilled the head of the third one as she proceeded to kill the walkers that had just invaded the school. It was when a walker grabbed onto her arm as she punched it, trying to free herself from it's grasp,
"Jack, shoot this fucker!" She shouted to him.
Jack aimed his shotgun at the walker Molly was trying to free herself from right now, trying to get a good shoot at it He shook his head a second later, knowing firing his shotgun at her would be too risky as he handed Ben his shotgun and pulled out his police baton. He rushed towards Molly an the walkera and slammed his police baton against it, knocking it down. Using this situation to her advantage, Molly quickly pulled herself away from the walker and killed it with Hilda.
She shifted her gaze to Jack a second later, "Thanks. But couldn't you use you shotgun?"
"Didn't want to risk blowing your head! Come on!" Jack replied. Not wasting any time, they pushed themselves into run and made their way to the classroom with Ben following them.
Kenny turned around to look at them with a questioning look on his face the moment they came back to the classroom, "What the fuck is going on?"
"They're coming!" Jack informed his group.
Kenny's eyes widened at this, "Shit..."
"That oughta hold 'em!" Vernon told her.
Brie looked at him with a nervous look on her face, "Sure, but now how do we get out?"
"Through the armory, if we can just get this damn door open!" Kenny replied, beginning to slam himself against the door with hopes of opening it as Jack glared at Ben and took his shotgun from him. Lee took notice of this and realized it must have something to do with Ben. He got his confirmation a second later
" This is my fault, all my fault..." Ben said nervously.
Christa looked at him questioningly, "What the hell's he babbling about?"
"Ben, we talked about this." Lee told him as Travis turned around with an alarmed look on his face.
Christa shook her head, "No, wait, I want to know what he meant. What do you mean, this is all your fault?"
"Kenny, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, man..." Ben began to apologize to Kenny as Jack raised his brow. Ben took notice of this and shifted his gaze to Jack a second later, "Jack. I'm so sorry to you as well..."
Kenny brushed this off, "Kid, this ain't the best time! Whatever you did, save it for later!"
"I opened the door, I let them in." Ben continued to panic.
Kenny once again brushed this off, "I said save it for after we get outta here!"
"Ben, we don't have time for this now!" Lee told Ben.
Travis nodded in agreement with a worried look on his face, "He's right, man! Just calm down!"
Ben shook his head with a regret filled expression, "I'm sorry, you two, I can't do this anymore! He's got a right to know!"
Chuck looked at him questioningly. "Know what?"
"Yeah. What?" Christa added as Jack narrowed his eyes at Ben.
"It's been me all along, putting all of us in danger! Katjaa and Duck and later Lilly going crazy and killing Andre, it was all me! It was all me!" Ben revealed, making Jack's eyes shot wide open as Kenny kicked the door to the armory open.
Kenny shook his head, processing what was he just told by Ben as he slowly turned around to look at him, "Wait a minute, what are you saying?"
Ben continued his guilt filled confession, "It was me who made the deal with the bandits at the motor inn, slipping them supplies! I thought maybe I could keep them off our backs! When it got discovered, that's when they attacked. That's when Duck..."
"Ben..." Travis shook his head at his friend, aware of what his confession was going to cause. His worries were confirmed a second later as Kenny looked at Ben like he wanted to skin hm alive and lunged at him.
"Kenny!" Lee shouted as he and Chuck grabbed Kenny, trying to stop him from reaching Ben, "Calm down, man!"
"You little pissant!" Kenny's voice was filled with rage as he yelled out those words, "You're fucking dead! You hear me! DEAD! My wife and child you got both of them fucking killed!"
Molly crossed her arms, "Nice group you got here."
"Not the time, Molly!" Lee narrowed his eyes at her, freeing Kenny from his grasp as Jack silently glared at Ben.
"If this asshole thinks he's getting on my boat after what he did, he's out of his motherfucking mind!" Kenny shouted, shoving Ben upon finding himself free from Lee and Chuck's grasp, "You hear me, shitbird?! You can stay behind and fucking rot!"
Travis's eyes widened at this, "You can't be serious!"
Kenny looked over his shoulder, "I'm damn serious! If you don't like it, then you can leave for all I care! Unless you had something to do with it!"
"No! Travis didn't know this! It was me! Just me!" Ben immediately denied this, not wanting Travis to get caught up in his mistakes.
"Kenny, we'll sort this out later! After we get out of here, okay?" Lee tried to get Kenny to calm down.
"The boat's not big enough for all of us!" Kenny replied, "The boat's not big enough for all of us! Somebody's gotta get left behind! Might as well be this piece of shit right here!"
Christa wasted no time in voicing her vote, "Well, I vote we leave him. I'm sorry, Ben. I know you mean well, but all I want to do is get back to Omid. And you put that at risk."
"I vote he stays with us." Chuck gave his own answer a second later, "Just because someone made a mistake doesn't mean we should leave them behind to be killed!"
Travis nodded in agreement, "Yeah! What the old man said!"
Christa looked at Lee questioningly, "Lee?"
Lee quickly gave his answer, "I've seen enough of Crawford to know that becoming like them is the beginning of the end. I vote Ben stays with us!"
Kenny shook his head in disapprovla and shifted his gaze to Jack, "What about you, Jack?"
Jack glared at Ben as he broke himself out of his silent state, "You got my best friend killed. He died because he was defending you! You then had the audacity to be there when Travis comforted me about it and said nothing to...!"
His answer was cut off as the walkers hands erupted through the glass window of the classroom door and their hands grasped Brie's face. The woman lost all her strength and let go off the door, allowing the undead to open it. She fell to the floor, the walkers getting the upper hand and wasted no time when it came to feasting on her flesh. Their hands pulled her everywhere as if she was a ragdoll.
"Brie!" Vernon shouted, watching how the undead started to feast on Brie with a horrifed look on his face.
"Now can we go?" Molly asked as she backed away from the walkers.
"Damn, right." Lee nodded in agreement as Vernon continued to watch what was happening to Brie in horror, "Vernon. C'mon!"
"Let's get out of here!" Travis shouted, being the first person from his group to run into a bell tower the now open door to the armory was leading. The teenager was followed by the rest of his group, with Lee pulling a shellshocked Vernon with him and Kenny and Chuck grabbing the gas cans from the floor before running into the bell tower.
After parting ways with Vernon, Lee leaned against the door to keep it shut as the walkers as the walkers slowly filled the classroom. His group split up around the armory as they either searched the cabinets for ammunition or searched for a way out of here. Unfortunely, there wasn't much left of the armory and a few handgun magazines was all the group found in the armory.
Kenny shook his head at the amount of supplies he and his group found in the armory, "So much for the armory."
"What's left of it." Jack stated.
"A few rounds. That's it." Christa said, sliding the clips into her pockets.
Kenny turned to Lee, "You didn't close that door behind us?"
"I couldn't. The lock was busted." Lee replied.
"Great. Just fucking great." Kenny shook his head.
Travis pointed towards the staircase leading down the bell tower, "There's gotta be a way out down here!"
The group wasted no time and went down the stairs, all of them in line, until they reached the bottom of the bell tower. They saw a door leading back into the hallway as soon as they reached the bottom of the bell tower. Lee quickly opened it, being in the front of the group and was immediately greeted by the view of a massive crowd of the walkers. The undead immediately shifted their attention to Lee's group as the group stood petrified for a second.
"Fuck!" Kenny cursed, his eyes widening at the view of the walkers as Lee quickly closed the door.
"That's not gonna hold! Back upstairs!" Lee shouted as his group immediately made their way back to the top of the bell tower.
Kenny was the only exception as he stayed on the bottom of the bell tower with Lee. He saw a shotgun laying close to the body. He quickly picked up the shotgun and looked at Lee, "Lee! Look!"
Lee turned to look at Kenny as Kenny tossed him the shotgun. Lee caught it without any problem as Kenny made his way up the stairs to the top of the bell tower. The walkers bursted through the door and Lee opened fire at them as he backed up the stairs. As he continued to make his way to the top of the bell tower, his foot broke through one of the steps.
Not wasting any time, Lee started alternating between shooting the walkers and pulling his leg out of the stair he had broken through. Fortunely, he eventually got freee and tried to keep walking up the stairs but found there were some walkers in his way. Shoots echoed from above him as he looked up at and Christa aiming her smoking pistol as she offered Lee her help.
Lee shifted his gaze away from her, making a mental note to thank her later as he continued to make his way up the stairs. As he proceeded to make his way up the stairs, the walker in front of him grabbed onto the shotgun. Lee shoot it and it lost it's grip on his shotgun before falling down to the bottom of the bell tower. He reached the top of the stairs where the rest of his group was waiting for him a few seconds later.
"You didn't come into town from the railroad, did you?" Vernon questioned, looking out of the window towards the railroad.
"Yeah, why?" Kenny asked in return.
"Never mind. Just asking." Vernon replied, "I can see the sewer we came in from here."
"Well, what are we waiting for? Go! Go!" Jack shouted.
Vernon climbed down first, followed by Christa, Molly, Chuck, Jack, Travis and Kenny. When Lee and Ben were the only people from their group in the bell tower, he saw something or rather something hanging from the bell. It was a bearded man. From all the pictures he had seen all over Crawford during his time in this place, he recongized him as Oberson Crawford himself. The leader of this fallen community was reanimated.
The bell swayed back and forth and when one person found themselves in Crawford reach, she grasped them. This person was Ben. Ben screamed in as he was towed backwards. Lee wasted no time and aimed his shotgun at Crawford. He fired, killing him once and for all and the rope around his neck snapped and it fell, taking Ben with him, but he managed to grab onto the edge. His hand slipped as Lee quickly dropped the shotgun on the floor and grabbed his arm.
"Hold on, Ben! I've got you! Ben, climb up! Come on, you can do it!" He cried out to him.
"There's no time!" Ben screamed, "You have to go, now!"
Lee shook his head, "Quit fucking around, Ben! Come on!"
"Let go, damn it!" Ben shook his head in return, "Get the others out of here!"
"Lee." Kenny called out to Lee. Lee looked behind him and saw Kenny standing out of the window, staring at him. He gave him a look, implying what he wanted Lee to do. Lee shifted his gaze away from him a second later, setting his eyes back on Ben.
"Lee, we both know..." Ben told Lee when Lee laid his eyes on him again as he let go off his hand only for Lee to continue to hold on his arm, "...Let me go."
"No. I won't let you die. " Lee shook his head, putting all of his strenght in his arm as he pulled Ben upwards. He quickly pulled him up, placing him on the floor where he was save from falling to his death.
Ben looked up at him, "Why?"
"Go, go, go!" Lee shouted as he and Ben jumped to their feet. It was when the walkers reached the top of the bell tower. Lee dragged a guilty Ben away from the edge and dragged him to the ladder. Ben bit his bottom lip, keeping himself silent as he climbed down the ladder where he was greeted by a glaring Kenny. Not wasting any time, Lee followed him down the ladder where the rest of his group was waiting for him and Ben...
Hope it wasn't so bad. See you in another chapter.
