Hi everyone, so I went with a new direction that I bet no one would expect me to take on, Mega Man. My history is simple, I grew up with Mega Man exe, I didn't know there was a game series until much later, got caught up to the lore due to Pop Culture and that's it. True be told I didn't had much investment on the series, however I stumble across the Archie Comics Mega Man series and this thing is amazing.
Archie Comics really had some bangers before they decided to just focus on Riverdale, like this Mega Man series their Sonic stuff before going to IDW (I prefer the IDW run since its still brand new and I don't have to read over 20 years of stuff yet). Plus, with Secret Level making everyone hype for more Mega Man so I decided to take a try.
The main source of inspiration is the Archie Comics Mega Man which ran from 2011 to 2016. Really good read and check those out and now prepare for a good time
At the year 22XX
The world has never been the same since a baby in China was reporting glowing out of the blue.
Once this happened a lot of others strange abilities started to appear through people all over the world, these abilities soon received a name on Quirks. At first, they were seen as a bad omen, but with time people adapted and know the most wanted occupation of this new era was something that was only thought in dream, the job of pro hero.
However in the science side the breakthrough in robotics and others parts have been a bit slow, while people get more modern devices stuff like the flying cars and instant transport to planets was still seen as something of fiction. While speaking of robots it did came through as robots have become more adaptable to society, but only the rich and powerful had access to a great amount of these great machines. However, the world would have a lot of different opinions on robots.
It all happened in a regular day at the town of Musutafu as the world renowned Dr Thomas Light was getting ready to make a big speech at a conference. The chubby doctor was all nervous since he was never good in public speaking was trying to rehearse his lines with his two kids Rock and Roll.
"A new age of…should that be A New Era? I don't want to sound presumptuous.'' Said Light looking at his card speeches.
"You'll do fine, doctor Light!'' Said Rock, Light son and assistant who had blue eyes and brown hair.
"Oh, I am not good at public speaking.'' Said Light looking at his notes worried.
"Quit it, Doctor Light! You'll muss up your hair.'' Said Roll, Light daughter who had long blonde hair and tied up in a pony tail
(AN: Both of them are to be around 13 to 14 like a regular My Hero student, also they are set up to be twins).
"All set!'' Said Rock finishing polishing Light shoes.
"I am sorry Roll. You're right. I would be lost without the two of you.'' Said Light with a little chuckle as the two kids also smile back.
Soon people started to fill up the seats at the big conference, there were people from news, magazines, enterprises and a ton of Pro Heroes, but then someone came from the back door much to the group surprise.
"I am here to wish my friend good luck!'' Said the number one Hero All Might entering the backroom to check on Light with a big smile at his face.
"Oh All Might, you came!'' Said Light with a smile.
"Dr Light, I wouldn't miss the chance to see a old friend of mine make a life change speech.'' Said All Might.
"Not just him but we felt also obligated to come.'' Said a new voice.
Soon the group turned around to see most of the Top 10 Heroes of Japan standing right there in front of them, there was Endeavor, Hawks, Best Jeannist, Edgeshot, Wash, Kamui Woods, Mirko, Ryuko and Gang Orca all there present to see Doctor Light and wish him good.
"Wow you all came?!'' Said Light in shock.
"Of course, we couldn't miss this day doctor.'' Said Ryuko with a smile.
'Yeah, break a leg doc. Make their minds explode.'' Said Mirko with a smirk.
"Your help in the field of Heroes is indispensable. Whatever you have in there its sure going to make a mark.'' Said Endeavor.
"I just did what any scientist who wants help the world would have done, you all did the heavy lifting.'' Said Light.
"Would anyone like some tea, water, shoe shinning.'' Said Rock making some offer.
"No thanks kid.'' Said Endeavor.
"Do you all need something, I can get it.'' Said Roll.
"Rock, Roll please don't bother our guests.'' Said Light with a little laugh.
"Nah let the kids be excited, after all it's a big day.'' Said Mirko with a smile as she put her arm around Roll shoulder just to let the girl be a bit excited.
"Heh.'' Laugh Hawks.
"What is it?'' Asked Edgeshot.
"Is their names. Rock and Roll?'' Asked Hawks now realizing that.
"Are you serious?'' Asked Edgeshot a bit annoyed.
"Yes, this is hilarious.'' Said Hawks.
While the heroes went to wish Light luck, they couldn't help to wonder what was the big revelation that he was going to make today.
"We are trying our best to not peak over the curtain, but you are sure building up to be something great Dr Light.'' Said Gang Orca.
"Oh thanks, I've been working on this project nonstop for the last few months. Me and my partner had a lot of fun making them but it was still hard work.'' Said Light as one part of his sentence got the heroes by surprise.
"Wait, partner? I thought you made this all by yourself. Who could keep up with your intellect?'' Asked All Might.
"Well…'' Said Light ready to answer but then they heard some commission happening near the backstage.
"I told you! I have the right to be here! Look at my badge! VIP and Guest!'' Scream a scruffy and annoyed voice.
"Sorry sir, please enter.'' Said a security guard a bit scared.
"Stupid kid, bet got this job as unpaid internship what else is going to… urgh, great I already ran into you all.'' Said the man who had a bald spot, a long mustache and an overall annoyed look
The man was Doctor Albert Willy, also a world renown invertor but while Light was always seemed as a good person but the hero community, most of them if not all heroes despite Willy and his obnoxious style.
"What the hell are you doing here, Willy!?'' Asked Endeavor already pissed as flames dance in his body of the pure rage as he was omitting.
"You better not touch me Todoroki, I don't know where you muscle bounds fingers have been. Oh wait, couldn't they've been on Rei face?'' Asked Willy already pushing the buttons on Endeavor face.
"Would bastard!'' Scream Endeavor ready to attack but then Light interfered.
"Hold on! Don't hurt him, he is an important guest if he wasn't for him I would have never finished my inventions on time. He is as important as I am for this conference.'' Said Light protecting Willy who had a look of distress.
"Yeah, he is an important guest too. Would like me to polish your shoe Doctor Willy? Some tea? Water? Energy Bar? You named it.'' Asked Rock.
"No thanks kid.'' Said Willy.
"Would like me to get you something doctor?'' Asked Roll
"No, I am fine girl.'' Said Willy.
"Sorry Albert, lets talk just you and me.'' Said Light taking his partner to the other side of the backstage leaving his kids with the heroes.
Most of the heroes decided to leave, just seeing Willy face, they knew this wasn't going to be a good conversation. The only one who sticked around was All Might.
"What's wrong with Doctor Willy? Shouldn't he be happy?'' Asked Rock.
"Young Rock, doctor Willy while an old friend of your father has shifted into different ideologies on their field. I think Light still imagined that he is talking to his old friend in college.'' Said All Might.
"Yeah, but they worked so many times together, couldn't they just patch their differences and continue?'' Asked Rock.
"True but not all scientists have the same vision as your father.'' Said All Might
While Rock looked confused at that both Light and Willy were having a discussion.
"Look Thomas, today is a big day probably one of the biggest of your carre…but I helped design the robot master line, didn't i?' 'Asked Willy.
"Yes.'' Said Light.
"I helped build them, didn't I?'' Asked Willy.
"Yes.'' Said Light a bit annoyed.
"Then I should be on that stage making the unveiling announcement with you.'' Said Willy annoyed.
"Albert, we've been over this you lost your credentials when you did those unethical robotics experiments, you are already a bad image on the robotic community. If it was up to me I would let you be on stage with me, but the higher ups from the HSPC would pretty much cut all my funding all together and take the robot masters to them, I had to fight them from nail to my teeth to just allow you to help me you're the only one on the planet that can keep up with my workload.'' Said Light making Willy still annoyed.
"Oh yeah, the excuses, why don't you say out light Thomas. Light makes Right.'' Said Willy.
"Now hold on! Your name is still on the blueprints and the documents, I am not taking full credit for this project, while I had the idea you assisted all the way. I can't forget about all the work we did in the University, I know you made your mistakes but I know you can make up to them.'' Said Light.
"Never knew you were into second chances.'' Said Willy.
"The Hero age showed me that almost everyone deserves a new chance. What you did in the past was bad, but I believe you still have a bright future ahead. You'll miss out on today but history will remember the two men who changed the future just like the glowing baby, what do you say Albert?' 'Asked Light giving his hand for a handshake.
The other scientist looked a bit anxious but then in a mood change he accepted the handshake.
"Just don't flub your lines Tommy.'' Said Willy.
"Thanks, but lets not ask for Miracles.'' Said Light.
"Dr Light! Its time here's your cards.'' Said Rock giving the cards.
"Oh right, thanks.'' Said Light nervous.
"Good luck!'' Said Roll all excited.
Soon Dr Light appeared in front of a large crowd, full of some of the most important people from all over the Japan. They were already clapping and excited to see it.
It wasn't just them, a lot of people were tuning in both their TV, Phones and other devices to see this presentation because it has been building up for days and then Dr Light started to speak.
"Good morning, everyone. I am Doctor Thomas Light, PHD, founder of Light Labs and winner of the Quirk Nobel Prize in Physics. Thank you all for coming out today for Light Labs most important product unveiling of its entire history. Ove the last century even with the great rise of our beloved heroes, advance in robotics have been still very low in giving people new luxurious and help. Even with heroes for us all day I feel that we could have more help in day to day activity. I believe the field of robotics can be pushed further, that we can be pushed further for the better of mankind and robot kind. I've been developing a lineup that will change our day to day life's and helping out our beloved heroes when they need help but also help the standard citizen with a simple quest. They are my dream project for a better tomorrow. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you all the next generation of robots, the Robot Masters.'' Said Light presenting a line of 6 robots and while they had goofy designs ti wasn't different from standard Hero costume.
The crowd went nuts seeing these robots, they weren't like the usual droids you would hear about it, they looked like human and specially like Pro Heroes. Dr Light soon gave a rundown of each one.
Cut Man, who will oversee forestry management.
Ice Man, who will push arctic and Antarctic exploration to new horizons.
Guts Man, who will oversee land reclamation in hazardous conditions.
Bomb Man, who will revolutionize and excavation practices.
Fire Man, whose incinerator function will promote waste reduction.
Elec Man, who will rewrite the book on power management.
The revelation was already being trending on social media and even the heroes were impressed by this. Imagine all the lives that these robots would save.
"These robot masters will all have advanced A.I systems that will allow them to perform complex task, interact with people and direct other robots in their duties.'' Said Light as a wave of claps was heard.
Clap Clap
"I will now be open for questions.'' Said Light as he saw the first report.
"Excuse me, Merly from Hero News, Doctor Light you built Robots for the military like your so called sniper joe model. Are there any plans on using these advanced robots for the like of covered war operations?' 'Asked the reporter which Light was already with its answer.
"No , I am through building weapons. I am more interested in pursuing constructive means of advancing humanity. Either is from making gear for heroes, creating more robot masters or developing new technology for adaption I am not creating any more weapons under my name.'' Said Light all serious.
The crowd was all surprised over that statement, they never imagined Dr Light so serious about his intent in helping out society. He truly believed on his cause which is why Dr Willy wasn't interested in hearing any of that sappy speech.
"Next question please?'' Asked Light.
The rest of the day was a banger, showing off the Robot Master in actions, having them interacting with people so overall the plan of Dr Light was a success and the public was being very overall open about these robots.
"Sir, one last question. What about the people who don't see your robots as members of society? You know the technophobia?'' Asked another report.
'I know my robot master's wouldn't be for the likes of everyone and that's ok, I don't want to make people like my stuff. I just want them to know that these robots will be present to help out humanity and any task that they might present.'' Said Light ending his speech much to Rock and Roll joy.
Later
At Light House
The doctor was changing to a normal set of clothes while Rock and Roll prepared dinner.
"What a day, wouldn't say rock?'' Asked Light.
"It sure was, doctor light. But was it a good day?'' Asked Rock.
"I would say it was a resounding success. What do you think went wrong?'' Asked Light.
"Well, you seemed upset by that one reporter question. About building robots for warfare.'' Said Roll
"Ah that. I believe violence should be saved as the absolute last resort. I build things I may not have agreed with in the past to the money and notoriety I need it to start Light Labs. I am not proud of that, I also turned down billion-dollar contracts to make more robot weapons which they wanted to be on a city level and I immediately turned them down because I didn't wanted blood in my hands, more than I already have. When I built you two I knew I could make something that could change the daily life of our community, I saw the potential for a better future. Where robots are more than just tools, and people are better it. In some way they might be as inspiring as the heroes.'' Said Light.
"But the heroes aren't the beacon of hope for this era?'' Asked Rock.
"That sort of thinking is a bit black and white. Heroes are good but they are not the path that will last forever.'' Said Light.
"I also think they are bit overdone, we have over 6000 heroes not to mention sidekicks and other helping forces. We are Japan not the United States.'' Said Roll.
"Calm down Roll, I believe with time the number of heroes will go down and people will live a life of peace. Then they will see the Master Robots as their new heroes.'' Said Light.
"Do you think people would accept us, I mean if they discover what we are?'' Asked Rock.
No one, not even the media or the Heroes knew that Rock and Roll were robots created by Light, they just assumed they were his nephews or some streets kids he took in. He knew that it will be a bit risky, but he felt with time people would eventually accept the two.
"Of course, they will love you all be robots or not. You two are my kids and never forgot that.'' Said Light hugging the two.
The little family all went to turn off for the night, expecting to see the good job that the robot master's would do for society on the next day.
As they sleep Dr Willy sneaked into Light Lab and installed chips into all the Robot Master, their function obey Dr Albert Willy. Instead of helping humanity, Dr Willy had other plans for these robots.
"Now bow to your master!'' Said Willy.
"All hail Dr Willy!'' Said the robot masters.
"Yes! Ha Ha Ha.'' Laugh Willy as he send off the Robot Masters.
The robots soon left Light Labs and went to the main city
At the main street of Musutafu
People were walking around enjoying their night; however a regular person saw Bomb Man from the Robot Master line and of course was amazed by.
"Hey look it's one of the Robots from that Master Line!''
"Do you think he takes selfies?''
"Excuse me sir…I mean robot can we take a picture?''
The giant mohawk looked at the fans and just a smirk on its face.
"Huh?'' Asked them confused.
"Kaboom!'' Said Bomb Man starting to make explosions around the street.
Boom
The explosions didn't killed the people but left them in a state of shock as they run like hell.
"Aaaah!'' Scream the people running.
"What is going on?'' Asked some random hero that was soon beat by Elec Man electricity.
Soon the standard heroes of the are were all beaten, police sounded the alarm for the main heroes of the HSPC go over the area and deal with these robots. Which it had to be quick since every single of them was at minimum an A Class level criminal with crazy quirks.
Cut Man was destroying all sorts of building with his cuts.
Guts Man was throwing cars left and right.
Ice Man was making the weather too cold for people.
Fire Man was burning everything he sees.
Bomb Man was just exploding things for fun.
Elec Man was absorbing all the electricity that he could
Soon the main line of Pro Heroes appeared and they were shocked to see the Robot Masters line.
"are those Light Robots?'' Asked Gang Orca.
"Yes, what happened to them?'' Asked Ryuko.
"We need to save the civilians first. Take down and we will question Light later.'' Said Endeavor as everyone went into action.
The heroes all thought that going up against a robot Master was going to be just a little easy quest, a singular top 10 could take them down easily. How wrong they wore.
Best Jeannist soon use the fibers of his Jeans to attack Cut Man.
"You will stop right this minute scissor head.'' Said Best.
"Think again Prada.'' Said Cut man with a smirk.
Cut Man with super speed reflexes cutted off all Jeanist threats and lines much to his confusion.
"What?'' Asked Best confused.
"I have all your moves downloaded and how you use your quirk. There is no fiber that I can't cut it.'' Said Cut Man with a smirk.
"What!'' Scream Best Jeannist confused as cut man attack his stomach.
Stap
"Argh!'' Scream the stylish hero.
"Jeannist!'' Scream Endeavor.
"Don't you think I will just let you pass?'' Asked Fire Man with a smile.
Endeavor soon unleashed his powerful flames but it was soon counter by Fire Man own flames.
"You can't keep this up forever.'' Said Endeavor already furious.
"Of course I can I am robot. I don't get tired or run off fuel.'' Said Fire Man with a smirk.
Endeavor was just pissed as he wanted answers of what was going on with these robots.
Soon All Might arrived and saw this chaos.
"What is going?'' Asked All Might.
The number one Hero saw the Robot Masters line and was beyond confused on why they were attacking people.
"Light robots?! Why are htye doing this?'' Thoguht him.
"Hey All Might, help us!'' Scream Hawks as he was fighting Ice Man.
"Deal with these robots first, I will save the civilians.' Said All Might running to get the people.
"Sure.'' Said Hawks as he fights the little eskimo.
The number one hero grabbed as much people as he could and evacuated the area.
"Ugh! There's still so much more.'' Thought him.
"All Might please save my daughter.'' Said a civilian.
"Do not fear I am here!'' Said All Might.
The hero then did that and saved a building worth of people and put them to a save spot.
"Ok, I got everyone out of danger now I can…'' Said All Might ready for action when he heard more screaming.
"All Might help us!''
"Uh?!''
"All Might destroy these robots!''
"All Might save me!''
"Please, someone save us!''
The number hero was now faced with a dilemma about if he should save people first or stop these robots, he wasn't sure since the Pros were having a hard time defeating any of them.
"What do I now?'' Asked him worried.
As this horror show happened the real mind behind of this attack was watching everything happening live. Dr Willy was beyond excited to see this happening.
"HA HA HA! Its working! Now fear me stupid heroes! It's now the Era of Willy!'' Scream the mad doctor with more robots at his hide out.
So yes, we have the main introduction of the Masters Robots, the Pro Heroes fighting them and things getting a beat heated up. I am glad that the Archie series puts almost every single robot master villain from all the Mega Man games and not just from the two firsts. I gotta say Mega Man dealt with a lot of variety.
I hope everyone likes it, and I want to add the question of Are Robots people into this fic. I mean, after watching Pluto I had to do it since there are no Pluto stories in this website.
