Brick, Boomer and Butch flew onto the porch of their house. they each had their backpacks on.

"we're home!" Brick announced as he opened the door.

he was then tackled by a full grown golden retriever with a black spot on their wildly wagging tail.

"hey Dandelion! good to see you!" Brick greeted.

"welcome home boys" a middle-aged woman spoke, on her knees as she sorted through books on the bookshelf. she wore a white long-sleeved shirt-dress, blue jeans, no shoes and a red and white bandana around her head while her collarbone-length desaturated brown hair was tied in a bun.

"hi aunt Alice!" Boomer replied as he walked past Brick and the dog, Dandelion with Butch.

"what are you doing?" Butch asked.

"I'm re-sorting the shelves after Dandelion knocked it over. would you like to help me?" the woman, Alice asked.

"nah, I'm going to our room" Boomer replied.

"hey Brick, could you tutor me?" a child girl asked as she approached Brick. she wore a black shirt-dress, a light blue hood-less poncho, black jeans and no shoes while her collarbone-length light brown hair was brushed back out of her face.

"of course Mack" Brick agreed walking past her as Dandelion followed him.

"well I'm going to go deal with those pests. after getting changed of course. can't deal with pests in jeans" Butch declared as he began heading up the stairs.

"I'm gonna go get my notebooks and stuff and wait for the rest of the creative crew at the bus stop so we can continue writing 'the world of myths' together" Bommer announced as he began following Butch upstairs.

"why do you keep calling Fiona, Liam and Jacob that?" Brick asked.

Brick and Mackenzie sat at the dining table working on homework while Brick petted Dandelion.

"good afternoon Brick and Mackenzie" a middle-aged man greeted as he entered the dining room. he wore a black t-shirt, a plaid beige jacket, blue jeans and a black leather belt with a silver buckle while his ear-length red hair covered his forehead.

"eich omrim et ze ba'avrit" he continued. 'how do you say that in hebrew?'

"tzhari'im tovim brik umakanzi" Brick and Mackenzie replied. 'good afternoon Brick and Mackenzie'

"tov" the man smiled. 'good'

"dod yetzchak! bechader kosher hayom haya yald beshem yetzchak!" Butch announced as he rushed into the kitchen, visible through the open wall. he wore a dark green shirt with the elbows stained by dirt, beige short overalls and green and white sneakers. 'uncle Isaac! at gym today there was a boy named Isaac!'

"are you speaking ivrrit again?" Emily asked as she came into the kitchen as well. she wore a desaturated green tank-top, beige shorts and no shoes while her collarbone-length curly hair was tied in a high ponytail and decorated with many leaves, twigs and flowers.

"tut, tut, tut. how do you always end up with such messy hair?" Alice wondered as she came up behind Emily and began trying to run her hand through the tangled mess.

"ow! I should really cut this" Emily responded, pulling away from the attempt.

"yeah. you could just use a straightener. you look way better with straight hair" Alice commented.

"I'm not using a hair straightener. remember when I took moms and tried to use it?" Emily queried.

"ooh! tell us!" Butch cheered.

"she stole our mom, your grandmothers hair straightener and she tried to use it. she ended up with a burn scar on her shoulder that didn't disappear until a week after prom! ha! she had to get a whole new dress to hide it!" Alice explained.

"Alice! don't tell them that" Emily scolded.

"lea! sper lenu!" Mackenzie cheered. 'no! tell us!'

"I already did Mack. now come on. we need to cut that hair" Alice spoke, leading Emily out of view.

Butch and Ivy walked down a rocky path between crops of wheat as the sun set behind them. she wore a thigh-length short-sleeved white dress, blue denim shorts, brown cowboy boots, a gold chain necklace, hearing aids in both ears and a beige open coat while her hair was straight and tied in a low ponytail.

"I just don't feel like how I know I should feel when I tell people I'm a guy. it feels like a lie. but it's not a lie! right?" Butch vented.

Ivy shrugged.

'sometimes when given life. we're given the wrong body. like when you use the wrong color for a drawing. you have to fix it' Ivy explained.

"so your saying I have to scrap this body and get a new one?" Butch questioned.

Ivy stared at him in confusion.

'what do you usually use for drawing' she asked.

"markers, why?" he replied.

'forget everything I just said then' she scowled.

Brick yawned as he entered him and his brothers room. he wore a loose red t-shirt, plaid dark red sweatpants and white socks while his hair was draped down his back.

"brushed your teeth?" Boomer asked from the top bunk where he was lying on his stomach doing homework. he wore a buttoned up light blue pajama t-shirt and light blue pajama shorts while his hair was down.

the room had a pair of bunk beds against the left wall, the bottom red and the top blue while across the room was a green bed. there was a chest of drawers at the end of the bunk beds, a closet against the wall next to the clutter-filled desk on the left and a closet at the end of the green bed. finishing off the room was a pastel fluffy rug in the middle of the room.

"yep. Butch back yet?" Brick asked as he stood on the rug.

Boomer gestured to the empty bed across the room with his pencil.

"right" Brick nodded as he sat on his bed.

Butch walked into the room with his toothbrush in his toothpaste filled mouth. he had no shoes on and one of his overall straps was off his shoulder.

without a word he opened the closet at the end of his bed with many drawings of clothes pinned on the back and side.

"evening" Brick greeted, to which Butch nodded.

the raven-haired boy grabbed his pajamas and left the room.
