Hi guys, I'm an old fics writer, although for a few years I stopped writing because of boredom and maybe I didn't have the spark to keep writing after the changes in the anime after XYZ, but now with journeys I felt like writing about the new couple Ash and Chloe.

I hope you like this story and leave your critics and comments, I appreciate any constructive criticism and comments.

Note in this story the events of the anime are a little different, it would be right after Chloe caught Eevee.

Chapter 1: Everyday

Days for me are always the same, I wake up when the sun reaches my eyes through the curtains of my room, I say good morning to my partner Yamper, who with his smile and gasp greets me. Which is really the highlight of my morning. Then it's all that long process of getting ready for school. Sometimes my brother reproaches me for the time it takes but well, what can I expect from a little boy.

He just does not know how important grooming is for a girl, especially my hair. Ever since I was a little girl my mother used to style my hair in a long braid like she did at my age. It has never been something easy to fix, but without a doubt my hair is what I appreciate the most about myself, plus my friends say they would kill for hair like mine. So, I guess it's worth the hassle.

After breakfast with my parents and brother, I take the usual route to my school. Something common in Vermillion City is the obsession that people of my age have to start their pokemon journey and be a trainer to compete in the pokemon league, so it is no surprise that the school in don't have many students.

I have never understood why everyone's obsession with being a trainer and everything related to the pokemon. A lot of people believe that I hate pokemon, which is not true. I love my Yamper, my newly captured Eeeve and the pokemon my dad takes care of in the lab. But I still do not understand why everyone seeks that dream of exploration and dangerous adventures with pokemon. Of course, I have the two clearest examples of this living in my father's lab.

To me Goh has been one of the most stubborn but tenacious people I've ever met, since childhood my friend has been a fan of pokemon and even more so since he swears, he saw the singular pokemon Mew one day at Professor Oak's summer camp. Since that day he swore that he would capture all the pokemon in the world to finally get Mew, something that according to the books no one has been able to do, since there are more than 900 of them. However, as impossible as it sounds, he already started catching different pokemon from the 8 regions, something I never thought he would do. Although it was thanks to my father's new assistant... Ash Ketchum

The day I met him I didn't think much of him, I practically ignored him when I saw him electrocuted on the stairs of the laboratory, not for being a bad person but I have never been a very social person with people I don't know, being completely different from him, who is a person who doesn't hesitate to say hello and try to get to know you more. I must say that as I got to know him better, I was surprised by his ability to surprise and irritate me at the same time. It's not that I don't like him, but he is so different from me, that sometimes he overwhelms me. But even so I must say that his determination and guts when he fights with his pokemon impress me, he is certainly not the rookie trainer I thought he was when I saw him there, but anyway I try not to make a big deal out of it.

The days at school are always the same, I go to classes, which every year I feel that they are easier, my classmates call me a book worm for being the daughter of a researcher and professor, but it has nothing to do considering that what I do has nothing to do with pokemon. Still, I try to strive to get the best grades and build the foundation for a career in an area other than pokemon... or well that is the plan.

After school is over, I walk back with my friends Mica and Violet back to the lab and go inside to get something to eat and do my chores or homework. Although well it would be easier to do if Goh and Ash were not making noise or breaking things in the lab with their nonsense, although I appreciate Goh and tolerate Ash, I don't know why my father hired them as field researchers, they may be capable trainers, but they don't have the seriousness of a researcher, since Goh is 15 years old, and Ash is 17.

Even so my day are quiet and peaceful, at least they were until today...

I was doing my homework of culture and mythology of the world without disturbing anyone, when without warning someone came from behind and with a loud and annoying voice said.

"Hey what are you doing?"

I dropped my pencil in shock and angrily replied, "I'm trying to do my homework if you mind" I replied still not turning to look at him.

"Wow yeah that's really weird" he replied sarcastically, "Don't you get tired of doing the same stuff every day".

Now more annoyed, I turn to look at him but he looked different this time, He looked all sweaty, wearing a black sleeveless tank top while holding towel on his back. "None of your business and why do you look like that?"

"Well Goh went to explore a bit to catch pokemon, so I decided to do some training and exercise with my pokemon" he replied while taking a sip from a bottle of water.

"Okay and if you're doing that why are you coming to bother me" I asked him already more annoyed and wanting to go back to my work.

"Pikachu and Lucario had to go eat with the other Pokémon, so I came in to rest and saw you, I must say I'm a little bored too" he answered me carelessly.

"Do you find it funny to annoy me" I replied

He just turned to look at me and smiled, "Yes a little".

Even though I was annoyed I could notice things about him, I had never taken the time to look at him in detail physically, he always looks the same disheveled, with his messy hair and those brown eyes. But there was something I hadn't noticed, his hands and arms full of marks and some scars. I had once heard about the adventures he had in other regions and the encounters with legendary Pokémon, I certainly did not believe him when he told me but looking at it closely maybe there was a bit of truth by the way he looked.

To my misfortune he realized what I was doing, "Why are you staring at me?" he asked me in surprise.

Trying to deny it all I said, "I don't know what you're talking about, but you should take a shower, your stench goes from here to Galar".

He laughed a little and replied, "Hehe you'll live, but hey tell me what your homework is about".

I realized that I wouldn't get him off my back, so I told him what I was doing, "Well if you want to know, I'm doing some homework about the mythology of the Sinnoh region".

This time he took the chair in front of me and very confidently told me "The mythology of Sinnoh, I know quite a lot about that subject".

I teased him a little, as I knew he barely remembered what he had for breakfast the day before, "Ash I already know you, I highly doubt you know anything of this."

For a moment, he became quite serious to me and with a defiant tone he said, "You think so, then ask me about it."

This caught me by surprise I had not seen him so confident in anything other than Pokemon battles, "Very well, then tell me the 3 most important deities of this region".

After I asked the question he made a thoughtful grimace, I was sure he had no idea what he was going to say, but I was wrong, "The 3 main deities of the region are Dialga, the temporal pokemon, Palkia, the space pokemon and Giratina, the dark matter pokemon. These 3 Pokémon are known to be the creators of the 3-dimensional states but these 3 were created by the same being, the Alpha pokemon Arceus."

For a moment I didn't believe it, he actually knew the answer and explained better than my textbook, "But how do you know that" I asked him.

He just looked at me with a smile and said, "I was traveled Sinnoh for a year, I visited different museums and archeological sites where I learned about the creation myth".

I must admit I was shocked when he told me this, "Wow then do you think you can help me with my homework, well I don't know much about the subject yet" I asked him, feeling a little bad for how I had underestimated him

Maybe if I were him, I would have denied out of pride, but he just looked at me with his hazel eyes, gave me a smile and said, "Of course Chloe."

He pulled his chair up next to me and began to tell me about the creation myth, the formation of Mount Coronet, the importance of the 3 lakes in the region and their guardians. I was really fascinated with his knowledge of the subject; it was much more interesting to hear it from him than to read it from the textbook I was given at my school.

Thanks to him I was able to finish the report in less than 30 minutes, it would have taken me a couple of hours if it hadn't been for his help. "Wow I must say I'm impressed; I finished my homework much faster... thank you, Ash" I thanked him with a bit of regret for being a bit harsh on him when he arrived.

"Don't worry, I never liked doing homework, but I liked helping you, it was interesting" He answered me and gave a warm smile.

"You've never been to school have you" I asked him, wanting to know a little more about him, "You'll be surprised to know that I was studying for 6 months in a school in Alola" he told me with pride.

"Oh, really and how was the school there" I ask him, already being prey of my curiosity, "It was something very different from what I was used to, I learned a lot about their culture, their pokemon and I had a lot of fun there" He answered me looking at the ceiling definitely remembering something.

"Wow sounds pretty interesting and I congratulate you, Goh couldn't stand more than a month at my school" I commented sincerely, "Don't be so mean to him, I was the same way when I started my journey, and it wasn't until much later that I decided to try different things."

"What's more, you should try different things once in a while" he told me without shame or hesitation.

"What do you mean" I replied going back to being a little defensive, "Don't take this the wrong way Chloe, but life isn't just what you read or what you're told, it's about going out and getting to know those things on your own."

His words hit me a little, he knew I was a stoic person and without so much ambition. I was happy doing things and learning on my own way, but those times I accompanied him and Goh to another region I was able to experience new things and although there were things that bothered me, at least I experienced them.

"Look maybe you see me as a girl who focus only in school and books and not being an adventurer like you or Goh, but I'm happy with it" I answered him with sincerity and a bit of anger as I felt irritated by him again.

Ash before answering me got up from his chair, grabbed his stuff and headed to the exit, but before he left he stared at me and said something that changed my day and my perception of him.

"I know Chloe, you are a girl who is really stubborn, we have that thing in common. But I have to say that's what I like about you."

With nothing more to say he walked out the door and returned to the habitat where his and Goh's pokemon lived.

After that I could not concentrate well on anything else, I didn't think that Ash liked anything about me. Most of the time I usually ignore him or just be cordial to him when he talked to me, but he still takes the trouble to get to know me and take an interest in me.

This guy is the opposite of me, in personality, interests and manners, but he thought they were both stubborn or sure of their ways, whether it was an insult or a compliment. One thing I'm sure of, is that Ash Ketchum is one of the people who most disturb my days... but without a doubt since that moment I can't stop thinking about him.

Well guys, I hope you like this first chapter, the next one will be from Ace's perspective, and from then on it will be the story in third person.
