Guess who's back with a new chapter? It's my birthday next week, so I'm doing a double update for KHRWBY. Enjoy! Now, let's get to it.

(Flashback)
With Twilight Town back on the map, Sapphire, Sora, Donald and Goofy decided to stop by. Upon arrival, the gang helped out Seifer and his crew from some Nobodies. Once the battle was over, Saix, a member of Organization XIII appeared to warn Sapphire and Sora of Axel. Another Organization member who would stop at nothing to turn the two Keybladers into Heartless. While the group ignored his warnings, Sora thought he could follow Saix to his groups base. Only to warn Sora that he'll "end up like Riku" if he does.
Moments later, the gang met up with Hayner, Pence and Olette and Sora learned some surprising news. Kairi was in Twilight Town! However, she was soon kidnapped by the Organization. Sora, refusing to give up, resumed his journey with his friends by his side.
The party was once again called to Hollow Bastion. There, reunited with Cloud, meet the Gullwings, Tifa Lockhart and an alien called Stitch.
The Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee was hard at work trying to crack Ansem computer. Thanks to their new friend, Tron, Sapphire Sora and the gang were able to learn some pretty important information as well finally reuniting with King Mickey. As it turns out, the Ansem that Sapphire and the others defeated was a fake! Not only that, but his Nobody was the leader of Organization XIII!
Things went from bad to worse as the Heartless launched a full-scale attack on Hollow Bastion. Maleficent, Sephiroth, Demyx and a army of 1,000 Heartless! Luckily, Sapphire, Sora, Donald and Goofy had plenty of friends helping out. The gang even finally learned the identity of the leader of Organization XIII. Xemnas. Formerly Xehanort, Ansem the Wise's apprentice. Unfortunately, Xemnas got away while Mickey chased after him.
Axel, the Organization member who kidnapped Kairi, revealed that the Organization was using Sapphire and Sora to collect the hearts taken by the Heartless. Disillusioning the heroes. Thanks to the unlikely help of Maleficent, the gang was able to safely leave Hollow Bastion. Where they then met a dark figure who left two clues. A bar of Sea-Salt ice-cream and a photo of the Twilight Town gang. Only, there were two more people only Sapphire and Sora somehow knew. A boy named Roxas and a girl named Rhexia.
Their resolve renewed, Sapphire, Sora, Donald and Goofy resumed their quest.

Out of all the Huntsman to shadow team RWBY, the girls did not expect their green haired, hyperactive, coffee obsessed history teacher.
"Professor Oobleck?" Weiss asks.
"Yes, I'm afraid those bags won't be necessary, girls, seeing as you've opted to shadow a Huntsman on what is now essentially a reconnaissance mission." Oobleck says in his usual rush while pacing in front of the students. "I can assure you, we will not be establishing a single base of operations; rather, we will be traversing several miles of hazardous wasteland and making camp in any defendable locations we may stumble upon. I packed all of our essentials myself, plotted our air course, and readied the airship. And..." Oobleck zooms up right to Weiss' face. "It's Doctor Oobleck. I didn't earn the PhD for fun, thank you very much!"
Oobleck quickly backs away. Leaving Weiss to look over at Blake, who is equally disturbed.
"Come now, children." Oobleck says. "According to my schedule, we are already three minutes behind... schedule!"
Oobleck zips off to the airship docked farther ahead in a second.
After a moment, Sapphire face palms. "So that's why Ozpin wouldn't tell me who was joining us."
"Well, alright, then!" Ruby says positively. "Looks like we're going to save the world with Doctor Oooobleck-" Ruby trails off in depression. "...okay yeah when you say it out loud it sounds worse."
"Save the world?"
Sapphire and team RWBY turn around to see Rhexia, Nora and the rest of JNPR approaching. Jaune and Pyrrha notably holding hands.
"You're going on world-saving missions without us?" Nora says dramatically. "I'm hurt... sad!" Noras stomach suddenly rumbles. "Maybe a little hungry?" Nora turns sharply at Ren with a frown. "That last one's not your fault, though, Ren..."
Ren, for his part, simply crosses his arms and turns away.
Sapphire sighs before reaching into her pocket. She then pulls out what looks like a wrapped burrito and hands it to Nora.
"Here, Nora." Sapphire says. "It's a pizza pocket. Double pepperoni style."
No sooner than when Sapphire said those words did Nora grab the offered food, unwrap it and start devouring it with gusto. A small moan escaping the excitable ginger.
"How is this still warm?" Nora asks with her mouth full.
Sapphire gestures to her clothes. "Enchanted clothes. Magic's weird like that."
Nora pauses for a moment before shrugging her shoulders. She then continues to eat the pizza pocket while side glancing Ren with a mischievous smirk.
"If she keeps this up, you might be out of a job." Nora says.
Ren says nothing to Noras comment. But his eyebrow does twitch a little.
"So, where ya going?" Jaune asks.
"Oh, just outside the kingdom." Ruby says.
"Hey, so are we!" Nora says while stuffing the rest of the pizza pocket in her mouth.
"Ren and Nora wanted to shadow the sheriff of a nearby village." Pyrrha says.
"Never know, might find the Keyhole out there." Rhexia says.
"We set out tomorrow." Ren says.
"Then you can party with us tonight!"
Neptune and Sun approach the two groups.
"We're shadowing a crime specialist." Neptune says. "All inner-city detective stuff. We get junior badges."
Jaune looks at Neptune and Sun with stars in his eyes. Pyrrha notices this and giggles over her boyfriends antics.
"We normally go to the city with you guys, which means stuff's always exploding and junk, so we thought this might be a better way to check out the kingdom when it's, you know... normal." Sun says.
"Well-" Ruby says.
"Four minutes, ladies!" Oobleck says before going back inside the airship.
The huntress team are embarrassed by their professor while their friends smile awkwardly.
"Well, uh..." Sapphire says awkwardly before throwing a thumbs-up. "Wish us luck!"
With that, the friends disband.
Moments later, Sapphire, RWBY and Oobleck are flying over buildings and streets by airship.
Yang looks towards Oobleck. "I guess I just never saw you as much of a fighter."
"I admit I fancy myself more of an... intellectual, but I can assure you, as a Huntsman, I've had my fair share of tussles." Oobleck says.
Ruby tilts her head in confusion. "Like the mushroom?"
Blake leans over to Ruby. "Those are truffles."
"Like the sprout?" Ruby asks in befuddlement.
Yang also leans over. "Those are Brussels."
"The clams?" Ruby asks.
"Those are mussels." Sapphire says.
"Besides, given my expertise in the field of history as well as my dabbling's in the archaeological surveys, our dear headmaster saw fit to assign me to this particular... assignment!" Oobleck continues. "But, while I'll be assisting, Miss Sapphire has the reigns of this operation! It is her first official mission as a newly minted Huntress after all!"
Sapphire glances at Oobleck with understanding.
Like Glynda, professor Port and Doctor Oobleck were brought in on the secrets of the Heartless thanks to the incident with team CRDL. While professor Port was fine knowing the bare minimum, Oobleck was eager to learn more. Hence why he sat in on Sapphires first class on the Heartless. It was also a shock to find out that both professors were in on the Maidens secret too. But, it did make things easier for this mission.
"What does history have to do with this?" Weiss asks.
Oobleck turns sharply at Weiss. "Why, what a preposterous question, you silly girl! Why, history is the backbone of our very society! And the liver! Probably the kidneys, if I were to wager."
"Great." Sapphire thinks sarcastically. "Now I'm hungry."
Sapphire takes out another pizza pocket and starts eating it.
"And that means..?" Weiss asks.
"The southeast quadrant outside of Vale is home to wild forests and deep caves, but it is also the location to one of the kingdom's greatest failures!" Oobleck says.
"Mountain Glenn." Ruby says.
"That's right." Yang says. "It was an expansion of Vale... but in the end it was overrun by Grimm and fenced off from the rest of the city."
"Correct!" Oobleck says. "And now it stands abandoned as a dark reminder."
"And a likely place for a hideout." Blake says.
Oobleck adjusts his glasses with a smile. "Precisely!"
The group could see Mountain Glenn on their approach. A ruined city that could've done a lot of good. Honestly, just looking at it now was depressing.
The airship comes in over a spot of street amidst the ruined buildings and structures of the ruined area. It hovers right above the ground as Yang, Blake, Oobleck, Sapphire, Weiss and Ruby (with her backpack) all jump out of the craft with weapons drawn (minus the doctor, who simply holds his coffee canister) before the ship flies away from the destruction.
"Guys?" Sapphire asks with a serious expression. Getting everyone's attention. "This is your first official Huntress mission. Watch each other's backs, stay close to me and Doctor Oobleck and follow our lead."
Team RWBY nods in agreement.
"Quite." Oobleck says with a nod. Suddenly, he looks at Ruby, startling her. "Additionally, Ruby! I thought I told you to leave all of your bags back at school."
"But, uh, you hadn't told us to listen to you yet." Ruby says hesitantly. "So, I didn't."
"She's not wrong." Oobleck mumbles. "Very well, Ruby. Leave your bag here, we can pick it up upon our return."
Ruby panics. "But I, well uh-"
"Young lady, what in the world could you possibly have in that bag that could be so important to bring it with-" Oobleck says.
The Doctor stops as Ruby's bag opens and out pops Zwei's head. causing everyone to stare at the uninvited guest with varying expressions.
"Get back in the bag." Ruby whispers.
Zwei merely barks in response.
"We're here to investigate an abandoned urban jungle teeming with death and hostility and you brought... a dog?" Oobleck asks with a stern expression.
"I, uh..." Ruby stutters.
"Genius!" Oobleck exclaims before backing up.
Ruby to give a confused shrug before Oobleck speeds past, snatching Zwei away from Ruby, who tumbles to the ground as Oobleck spins the corgi in the air. Said pet barks happily in the Doctors hands.
"Canines are historically known for their perceptive nose and heightened sense of sound, making them excellent companions for a hunt such as ours!" Oobleck says.
"...I'm a genius!" Ruby says proudly.
Weiss and Yang both facepalm at their grinning leader along with Sapphire.
"If it wasn't for Zwei's Semblance, I'd call you on that." Sapphire says.
"He has a Semblance?" Weiss asks in confusion.
"You remember those old cartoons where people fall off cliffs or run into brick walls and yet are totally fine afterwards?" Yang asks. "It's like that. Zwei's pretty much indestructible."
"And here I thought it was absolute cuteness." Weiss mutters.
Ruby turns to Weiss in confusion. "What was that?"
"Nothing!" Weiss exclaims with a hint of pink in her cheeks.
"So, Sapph, Doctor, what are your orders?" Blake asks.
"Ah, yes, straight to the chase." Oobleck says. "I like it!"
Oobleck lets go of Zwei. The corgi is suspended in the air for a second before dropping down
"As you've been informed, the southeast area has been marked as a recent hot spot for Grimm activity." Oobleck says. "Now, there are several possible explanations for this behavior, one of which being-"
"AAAAAAH!"
Suddenly, Oobleck is interrupted by what sounds like a girl screaming. Taking everyone by surprise.
"...Odd." Oobleck says after a pause. "Screaming children was most definitely not on my list of explanations."
"Sounds like someone's in trouble." Ruby says.
"All the way out here?" Yang asks.
"They're still behind us!" A girls voice exclaims.
From behind a collapsed building, a trio of fairy-like girls fly towards Sapphire and her group. Looking at the three closely, the brunette-blue haired girl manages to recognize the girls after a moment. It was the Gullwings.
"Hey, I know those three!" Sapphire says.
"You do?" Blake asks.
Before Sapphire can explain, the ground begins to rumble. From behind the Gullwings, three trails of what looks like moving sand charge towards them. From out of the sand, three Earth Core Heartless pop out before diving into the ground again.

"Heartless!" Sapphire and RWBY exclaim.
Trailing behind the Earth Cores are a group of Fluttering, a few Search Ghost and Driller Moles.
"Not good." Ruby says as Zwei cowers behind her.
"An accurate assumption, yes." Oobleck says grimly.
Yuna looks up to see the group in front of her. She zeroes in on Sapphire and immediately recognizes her. The fairy-like leader flies towards Sapphire and the others with Rikku and Paine following her. The two recognizing the brunette-blue haired girl as well.
"Long time no see!" Yuna says while flying pass Sapphire.
"Mind helping us out?!" Rikku asks, following after Yuna.
"Thanks." Paine says while following Rikkus lead.
Sapphire and her group look back at the Gullwings before turning their attention back to the incoming Heartless.
"Doctor?" Sapphire asks while narrowing her eyes. "You might wanna step back."
"We'll handle this." Ruby says, mirroring her twin.
Weiss, Blake and Yang nod in determination. Seeing this, Oobleck examines the girls for a moment before nodding.
"Very well, ladies." Oobleck says. "Show me what you're capable of."
Oobleck turns around and jogs away.
"Zwei, go with him!" Ruby says.
Zwei barks before following his owners order.
With Zwei and the Doctor clear, Sapphire and RWBY (after putting their original weapons away) summon their Keyblades and assume their stances.
"Remember what I said." Sapphire says. "Watch each other's backs. Now, let's go!"
"Right!" RWBY exclaims.
The team divided to take on the Heartless. Sapphire leading the charge with her years of experience guiding her. Weiss and Blake worked together to snipe the Fluttering with their magic. The white-haired heiress displaying her mastery of the basic first tier magics. Weiss was well on her way to using second tier magic. Blake on the other hand turned out to be gifted with Zero Gravity magic and helped her teammate keep the Heartless from escaping her attacks.
Ruby and Yang took on the Driller Moles and Search Ghost. While the blonde was great in her use of Fire magic, she was also quick to get a technique Terra was known for. Things really went off with a Yang thanks to her Meteor Crash attack. Though, it wasn't at the same level as Terras. The Search Ghost were no match for Ruby. Though they tried to be sneaky, the brunette-red haired girl caught them by surprise with Wind Raid.
Soon, only the Earth Cores remained. One however decided to turn into a Tower. Much to RWBY's surprise.
"Did that thing just turn into a sand tower?" Blake asks.
"How do you fight that?" Weiss asks.
Sapphire gives Yang a look and the blonde instantly narrows her eyes.
"No way." Yang says.
Seeing her older sister not budging, Sapphire brings out the Rose families secret technique. Puppy Dog Eyes. Upon seeing the look, Yang flinches before slumping with a sigh.
"Fine." Yang says reluctantly. She then gives Sapphire a stern look. "But if I get sand in my hair, you're gonna be sorry."
With a salute, Sapphire jumps on to Yangs shoulders while the blonde primes Ember Celica. The two launch into the air before Sapphire spins her sister and throws her at the Earth Core Tower. ...Right down it's mouth. The Heartless shakes from side to side as cracks form in it's body. After a moment, the Tower crumbles into dust and Yang wipes some sand off her while spitting some out her mouth.
"Just like with Goofy." Sapphire says with a smile. "Only instead of a Goofy Bombardier, it's a Yang Bombardier."
Ruby looks in awe of Sapphire and Yangs combo attack.
"You're paying for my dry cleaning, Sapph!" Yang yells.
"And you say I'm salty." Weiss says with a smirk.
"Not funny, Weiss!" Yang exclaims indignantly.
Yang, her focus on Weiss, casually punches away a Search Ghost without even looking at it. She's then forced to jump back with her teammates as a group of Shadows appear. Much to the Huntresses annoyance.

"Great." Blake says sarcastically. "At least things can't get any worse."
The second Blake makes that comment, a howl sounds out. From behind the huntresses, a pack of Beowolves come charging into battle. Seeing this, Sapphire, Ruby, Weiss and Yang stare flatly at Blake.
"You just had to jinx us, didn't you?" Weiss asks dryly.
Blake has the sense to facepalm.
As the huntresses prepare to take on the Beowolves and the remaining Heartless, something strange happens. The Grimm, creatures of destruction, ignore the humans and attack the Heartless! Leaving said humans confused and shocked.
"The Grimm are..." Ruby says.
"Attacking the Heartless?" Yang finishes dumbfoundedly.
Sapphire rubs the back of her head as a feeling of déjà vu. "Well, this looks familiar."
The only time Sapphire saw something like what she's witnessing now was back in the Underworld. When the Heartless attacked the Nobodies.
"Sapphire!"
Sapphire looks up just in time to catch a small object in her hand. She looks down to see a light blue amulet with an odd blue logo. Seeing the familiar shape, the brunette-blue haired girl gives a small gasp.
"This is..." Sapphire says in shock.
"You need it more than we do!"
Sapphire looks to see Yuna waving at her from a nearby building. Rikku and Paine behind her. After a moment, the Keyblade Master nods before holding the amulet to her heart. Focusing her magic.
"Here goes." Sapphire says. "Summon!"
{Play Theme of Sonic the Hedgehog ~2006 E3 Version~}
A blue wind envelopes the area around Sapphire. Blowing away the enemies surrounding her. The brunette-blue haired girl looks around and after a moment, the wind dies down. The cause of it all was... a blue anthropomorphic hedgehog wearing gloves and shoes? The hedgehog looks at Sapphire and grins before scratching it's nose.
"Hey." The hedgehog says causally with a male voice. "You call for me?"
"Uh... yeah." Sapphire says after shaking off her shock. "I'm Sapphire. Call me Sapph."
The hedgehog gives a two fingered salute. "Nice to meet ya, Sapph. The names Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog."
The now named Sonic looks around and sees the Heartless and Grimm pausing as they look at the hedgehog in what seems to be confusion. Sonic nonchalantly stretches his legs before shaking his wrists.
"Looks like we're in some trouble." Sonic says.
"Think you can help?" Sapphire asks.
Sonic chuckles before taking a runners stance. "Just don't blink. You might miss it."
Suddenly, Sonic shoots off with a sonicboom! In a flash of blue streaks, the talking hedgehog charges through the Heartless and Grimm. Taking RWBY by surprise. Sonic moved so fast that a literal blink later and an enemy was on the ground. Sapphire, Ruby and Blake were the only ones who could see the fight clearly. Sonic even spun in the air in the shape of a ball before hitting his foes with a chain of attacks.
Sapphire stands jaw dropped in awe of her summons display.
"He's a speedster." Sapphire says. She then grins. "Oh, this is gonna be fun!"
Sapphire shoots off and fights alongside Sonic. Blasting through their foes. The Keyblade Master even managed to use the blue hedgehogs techniques. Things seemed to be happening in slow-mo for the two. Seeing someone who could move at high speed brought a grin to Sonics face and seemed to spur him to not be outdone. Before long, their were only a few foes remaining.
"You ready to wrap this up?" Sonic asks.
"Got any ideas?" Sapphire asks.
Sonic smirks before somehow pulling out seven different colored gems. Said gems then circle around the hedgehog and Keyblade Master.
"Let's finishes this Super Sonic style!" Sonic says.
The gems shoot into Sonic and Sapphire and in a bright flash, transform the two.
Sonics fur has turned golden yellow, his skin took on a golden hue and his green eyes have turned red. Sapphire took on a similar transformation with her body giving off a golden glow, her hair spiking up moreso than usual while also turning golden yellow (minus the blue tips) and her eyes shining brightly.
Sapphire looks at herself in awe. Feeling the power of the gems coursing through her.
"Whoa!" Sapphire says with a gasps. "This is amazing! I feel incredible!"
Sonic chuckles as he and Sapphire turn to the remaining enemies. The two begin to float before disappearing. In multiple golden flashes, Sapphire and Sonic decimate their remaining foes before landing on the ground. Their appearances returning to normal as the gems leave their bodies and disappear. The blue hedgehog and Keyblade Master turn to each other and bump fists.

"Wow, what a rush!" Sapphire says. "I've never gone that fast before! Thanks for the help, Sonic."
"No problem." Sonic says. He then notices that his body is starting to fade. "Looks like the party's over. See ya around, Sapph. Chili dogs are on me next time."
Sonic vanishes with a thumbs up. Ending the summon. Sapphire then desummons her Keyblade before looking at the amulet. Suddenly, Ruby tackles her twin with a squeal. The brunette-blue haired girl barely manages to stay upright as the rest of team RWBY gather around. Their Keyblades already put away.
"Sapph, what was all that?!" Ruby asks excitedly.
"Who was that hedgehog Faunus?" Weiss asks.
"Actually, I think he was a hedgehog." Blake says.
"His name's Sonic." Sapphire says. She then holds out the amulet. "I summoned him with this. It's called a Heartbinder. They're special items that let you Link Summon allies to help in a fight. Only catch is that using a summon takes all of your magic."
Team RWBY stares at the Heartbinder in awe.
"Wow." Yang says. "So, you can summon that Sonic guy whenever you're in trouble?"
"Basically." Sapphire says before downing an Ether. "Sora and I used them a lot. Even some of our friends from our earlier journeys let us call them for help."
"Quite the display, ladies."
The huntresses turn to see Oobleck walking towards them with Zwei and the Gullwings following. Rikku sitting on top of the corgi.
"As much as I would love to go more into depth about what has just transpired, I believe we should get moving." Oobleck says. He then gestures to the Gullwings. "I've already spoken with our new friends on the matter and they have agreed to join us."
"We've been camping in a spot a little ways from here." Yuna says. "It's big enough for all of us."
"Plus, we owe you for helping us out." Rikku says while scratching Zwei between his ears. Much to the corgis enjoyment.
"Not to mention that we'll need it again in case we run into those monsters again." Paine says.
Sapphire looks at team RWBY as the girls come to a silent agreement. They then nod at their Keyblade teacher.
"Got it." Sapphire says. "We can talk on the way."
Yuna and Paine take point as they lead the Hunters to their safe spot. All while Doctor Oobleck watches his students closely.
It took a while to reach the Gullwings safe zone. On the way, the group encountered more Grimm and Heartless but were taken down easily by Sapphire and team RWBY. The pixe-like girls safe zone was a building with a high vantage point. With it the sun beginning to set, Doctor Oobleck suggested that Weiss, Blake and Yang set up camp while he, Sapphire and Ruby secure the perimeter with Zwei following. The brunette-blue haired girl had given the girls a few Tents. Not only do they restore your stamina but they're also surprisingly comfy.
As Sapphire, Oobleck and Ruby round the corner of a building, the latter sees something in the distance that leaves her surprised. A wide forest stretching below the ruin and in the midst of it, a line of giant elephants with the black and white features marching through the trees.
"What is that?" Ruby asks. "It looks awesome!"
"That, my dear girl, is a Grimm." Oobleck says.
"Whoa." Sapphire says. "They're about the size of a Behemoth."
Ruby stares at the lumbering mass of monsters in amazement and awe before pulling out her gun. "Let's kill it."
Sapphire gently pushes Crescent Rose down with a shake of her head.
"Not a good idea, sis." Sapphire says. "Not only would attacking them make them made, it would also give our position away."
"An astute observation, miss Sapphire." Oobleck says.
"But what if it attacks us?" Ruby asks.
"Fret not." Oobleck says. "Those Goliaths are not concerned with us. Not every Grimm is mindless, Ruby. Or rather not every Grimm is still mindless. You see, the Grimm you see before you are so powerful, so superior to the Grimm you fought, that they've undoubtedly lived hundreds of years, and in that time between killing humans and attacking our borders, they have done one important thing: They've learned. They've learned that when they attack our borders, they're likely to die, and what we lack in strength, we make up for in will, and that killing one human will only bring more."
As Oobleck says this, one Goliath swivels its thick neck to look at the figures watching their procession, eyes glowing as fiery red as any other Grimm.
"Then why are they still so close to the city?" Ruby asks. "What are they doing?"
The Goliath turns its head forward again and moves on with its kin.
"Waiting." Oobleck says with a frown.
Oobleck turns around and walks away while Ruby puts away her weapon.
"Doctor Oobleck?" Sapphire asks.
"Hmm?" Oobleck asks.
"Why did you want to become a Huntsman?" Sapphire asks.
"Y-yeah." Ruby says hesitantly. "I've kinda been wondering the same thing."
Oobleck gestures the area around them. "Look around and tell me what you see."
Sapphire and Ruby take a look around.
"Lots of old buildings, uh, empty streets..." Ruby says.
"Lives that could've been saved." Sapphire says grimly.
"Indeed." Oobleck says. "But there's more."
Oobleck starts walking with Sapphire and Ruby beside him and Zwei at their heels.
"As a Huntsman, it is my job to protect the people and although I am capable of doing it with traditional weaponry, I believe I can make a much larger impact if I do it with my mind." Oobleck says. "As a teacher, I'm able to take knowledge, the most powerful weapon of them all and place it in the hands of every student that passes through my classroom. I look at this wasteland and I see lives that could have been saved, but I also see an opportunity; an opportunity to study these ruins and learn from this tragedy and therefore become stronger."
Oobleck stops for his final answer. "I am a Huntsman, girls, because there is nothing else in this world I would rather be."
Sapphire gives a small smile. "I can understand that."
Sapphire summons her Keyblade and gazes at it.
"All I ever wanted was to be like our mom." Sapphire says. "A strong huntress. But my journeys have taught me that there's more to it. I never asked for this power but now that I have it, there's only one thing to do with it."
"And that is?" Oobleck asks.
Sapphire smiles. "Doing what's right. And following my heart. ...A good friend of mine taught me that."
Ruby smiles at her twin. Oobleck stares at Sapphire for a moment before giving a small smile.
Back at the building, night had fallen and during the time, the team did as instructed. Building a fire in the center of the room and huddling around it or standing up. Tents pitched behind them. Yuna had taken a spot on Weiss' shoulder with Rikku and Paine sitting on Yang and Blakes shoulders respectively.
The Gullwings had shared stories with the huntresses. The three fairy-like girls were treasure hunters who had been to many worlds before meeting Sapphire. To their embarrassment, the treasure fanatics explained that they worked with Maleficent before finding out that (in Rikkus words) she was "pretty lame". Afterwards, Yuna, Rikku and Paine fought with Sapphire and everyone else in Hollow Bastion (now renamed Radiant Garden) to protect the town from the Heartless invasion before parting ways.
"I can't believe we didn't find anything." Yang says. She then glances at Rikku. "Well, besides you guys."
"Hey, don't sweat it." Rikku says cheerfully. "We haven't found what we're after either."
"We've always been fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time." Blake says with her arms crossed. "I guess we can't always have luck on our side."
Weiss looks at Yuna. "What exactly are you looking for?"
The Gullwings look amongst themselves before nodding in agreement.
"We're looking for a way for us to get our original bodies back." Yuna says.
"Original bodies?" Blake asks in confusion.
"Come on." Paine says. "You don't think this is what we really look like, do you?"
Weiss, Blake and Yang look sheepishly at each other. With all the things they've done since Sapphire came back to Remnant, pixie-like girls seemed to be expected.
"We were once regular humans like you." Yuna says. She then becomes embarrassed. "But, we got into some... trouble during one of our treasure hunts."
"Now we're cursed." Rikku says. "But it isn't so bad being fun sized."
"Yuna thought we could find some clues on this world." Paine says. "But we had no idea there were monsters besides the Heartless here." Paine looks at Weiss, Blake and Yang. "Luckily, we found you guys."
"Hope you don't mind us sticking with you for a while." Yuna says. "Since Keyblade wielders are known for getting into all sorts of strange things, we might find a way to return to normal if we stay close to you."
"Plus with everything you told us about living in a castle where you learn how to kick bad guy butt, who knows what goodies we'll find?" Rikku asks with a smile.
Paine scoffs. "You sure it's not about the fact that they have a festival coming up and you wanna gorge on sweets?"
Rikku dramatically points at Paine with flushed cheeks. "You can prove that!"
"I'm sure we can work something out with professor Ozpin."
The group turns to see Sapphire, Ruby and Oobleck enter with Zwei trailing behind them.
"Ah, wonderful; a textbook campfire!" Oobleck says.
"Fire!" Ruby says. She then sits next to the blaze alongside Zwei. "So warm."
"Very good!" Oobleck says. "Eat your dinners and hurry to bed. We have a lot of ground to cover tomorrow and we'll need you to take turns keeping watch over our temporary abode. Any volunteers for first watch?"
Ruby lifts an arm while still looking into the fire. "Yo."
Oobleck rushes off and Ruby gets up to go over to her lookout point.
"Well then, I'll get started on dinner." Sapphire says before walking to the fire. "I hope everyone likes Beef Stew."
"It's been awhile since you made that." Yang says with a nostalgic smile.
"Can we help?" Yuna asks while she and her team float towards Sapphire.
"Sure." Sapphire says with a smile.
Some time later and everyone was sleeping while Ruby was perched on a vacant windowsill of the room with Zwei.
Unknown to them, a small black portal appears behind Sapphire. Out from it comes a small thorn-like creature with a white mask, jet black appendages, a redish-yellow eye... and a familiar emblem on it's mask. The portal closes as the creature waste no time jumping at the unsuspecting Keyblade Master and burrows into her neck via a small portal. Thorn-like markings appear on the back of Sapphires neck as she tosses and turns in her sleep.
At the same time at the Evernight Castle, Maleficent and Salem are on a call with Pete via a Grimm with a cystal ball-like head and red tentacles.
"Is it done?" Maleficent asks.
"You bet!" Pete says with a grin. "Those chumps didn't see nothin'."
Salem leans forward with her hands folded and a smile. "Excellent."
And done! A two chapter update for my birthday. So, a lot of things happened this chapter. Sapphire, RWBY and Oobleck meet the Gullwings. Sapph gets her first Heartbinder, the Speed Heartbinder, to summon everyones favorite blue hedgehog! I always wanted Sonic to be in this story. I had considered making a Sonic world at first, but ultimately decided to make him a summon.
Also, I made up Zwei's Semblance. How else do you explain Oobleck launching him like a fireball at a Paladin and NOT be hurt?! That dog's got Toon Force, I swear.
Moving on, the Gullwings decide to hang around Sapph and the others in the hopes of undoing their curse.
For the record, I've never played Final Fantasy X-2. My frist FF game was FF7. Watched my cousin play the PS1 version when I was a kid, then played Kingdom Hearts before playing the FF7 Remake. So, my take on Yuna, Rikku and Paine is based around their KH2 counterparts.
Also, Tetsuya Nomura had said that he made the Gullwings fairies simply because he felt like it. So, I made it so that Yuna, Rikku and Paine got cursed after a treasure hunt gone wrong and have been looking for ways to return to their normal forms.
As for the part at the end... I'm sure you all know what's gonna happen. We're crossing into Ice Queendom! This is gonna be the start of a original arc after volume 2. I'm really excited about this arc.
Now, I have a question. Would you die for love? Bleach Rebirth of Souls this week. LET'S GO!
