Sana decided to take a break from acting after high school, and follow Fu-ka and Akito to college.

Chapter One: Casual Sex

Casual sex? What even is casual sex?

Akito had told Sana in the past it was something he might partake in, to make the most of his college experience, but she didn't know how to feel about it.

They were walking out of their 8am class, the only GE course they had together, when some girl invited Akito to a party her sorority was throwing.

"You'll be there right?" She said, grazing his chest with her fingertips.

He shrugged, nonchalantly, but neither party was fazed.

She seemed to notice Sana standing there, and proceeded to whisper something in his ear. The boss monkey nodded, causing the long legged goddess to smile back and fourth between the both of them.

"I'll be going then. See you this weekend hopefully- bring anyone you want! Oh, and one more thing!" To Sana's surprise, the girl's face got extremely close to Akito's. She reached out her hand to remove an fallen eyelash from his left cheek, and gracefully blew it back toward him with a giggle. "Make a wish! I'll see ya!"

When she was out of sight, Sana realized she'd been holding her breath, and let out a sigh. "Well that was odd wasn't it?" She chuckled.

"Not really."

"Oh, did you know her?" Sana inquired.

"She's just some girl in my anatomy class. She wants to hook up."

"Hook up?"

"Have casual sex."

Sana's eyes went wide, "At the party?"

"Yeah. It's normal for people our age to have parties where those kinda of things happen."

"Really?" Sana was imagining some sort of chaotic monkey mating ground. So... You're going to go to that?"

"Probably."

Sana thought her and Akito were getting closer now that they were with eachother every day in college, away from home, but in that moment it was as if she didn't know him at all.

She wanted to change the subject, but she couldn't think of a good topic, so she went with: mutual friends.

"Oh, well have fun! So how do you think Tsuyoshi is doing these days?"

"Him and Aya are doing it for sure."

"I mean in college, you pervert."

"That is college. You should come with me to the party Kurata. Experience it with me."

Sana couldn't believe Akito was trying to convince her to go a hookup party, where he'd possibly leave her alone to go hook up with some random girl he barely knew.

"I wouldn't just hook up with any random guy," she told him. "I have feelings Akito, unlike you!"

"It doesn't have to be random Kurata, it can be with someone you already know and trust."

Sana hit Akito with her mallet and stormed off. Akito was left standing there unsure as to whether Sana hit him because she got the hint, or because of the implication that she might have sex at a party, in general. He figured it was the later.

"I'm saving myself for marriage you pervy Jerk!" The brunette muttered to herself.

She was bothered by their conversation more than she would have liked.

The young actress had been in love with Akito since middle school, and although he'd told her he was going to tell her something after his black belt exam (which she hoped was that he loved her back), he never said a word. After receiving his black belt, Sana had asked multiple times what it was he had to say, but he just told her he forgot.

When she arrived at her dorm-room, Sana was ready to hop in bed and sulk, but when she opened the door she was met with the sight of Fu-ka, on top of Takaishi, completely naked.

"Oh my gosh, Sana!" Her roommate screamed, and she slammed the door shut.

Is everyone having sex here?

Sana went to the common area at the bottom of the building and tried to erase the image from her mind. When she sat down, a muscular guy in a white t-shirt and black pants sat down next to her.

"You're Sana right? Is it alright if I sit here?" He asked.

"Of course." She replied.

"Rough day?" He chuckled, noticing she looked flustered.

Sana scratched her neck, slightly embarrassed, "Well I just walked in on my roommate having sex, so there's that."

"That happened to me yesterday. Seems like this whole place is a mating ground, but I could never bring myself to do that with anyone I didn't love, you know? Just isn't me."

"Oh my gosh I can totally relate to that! Just today, my best friend, a guy I thought I knew better than anyone, told me he was going to a party with some girl to have casual sex. I just don't understand the appeal of doing something so intimate with someone, and forgetting about them two seconds later."

"Some guys are pigs."

"Who you calling a pig?" A familiar voice said from behind them. "Why are you talking to this guy, Kurata?"

"So you're the best friend? I should have figured, the girls are all over him in our Anatomy class. Is it Leah's party you're going to?"

"Who cares if it is?"

"Well props to you man. So Sana, since Hayama's gonna be at that party, would you wanna get dinner with me? I'd like to get to know you better."

Akito stared at Sana, waiting for her to take out her mallet on this guy, "Oh, um, I'll have to see if my roommate has anything planned for us tomorrow, but I'll let you know."

Right then, another long legged sorority girl pulled Akito aside.

"You know on second thought, that sounds nice. Just let me know when and where and I'll meet you."

"Sounds good. Let's meet here at 6 and we'll walk over together. Name's Eiji Fujikawa by the way."

"See you tomorrow night Fujikawa."

Sana went back to her dormroom where she was reprimanded by Fu-ka for not understanding what a sock on the door meant.

By the time the scolding had ended, Sana was exhausted. She hesitantly told Fu-ka, "So I'm going on a date tomorrow..."

Fu-ka was surprised to hear this, "So Akito finally manned up huh?"

"Akito? Ew no. His names Eiji Fujikawa. He seems nice."

"Oh Fujikawa! I actually know him, he's in my Calculus class. Wow, he's actually a really nice guy, but are you sure you don't want to see if Hayama's okay with it?"

"That pervert's too busy hooking up with sorority girls. He won't care what I'm doing."

"What? Since when?"

"I don't know... he told me this morning."

"Well Sana, I hope you have a nice time tomorrow."

"Thanks Fu-ka."

The next morning, Akito was waiting for Sana outside of their fleet. He looked exhausted.

"Are you alright Akito, you don't look to good?"

"I was just up late last night."

"Oh were you-" Sana froze, "On second thought, I'd rather not know what you were doing."

"Come on Kurata, its not like I'm hooking up with girls left and right. Plus, you're the one going on a date with that weirdo."

"Fu-ka said he's really sweet and kind. He's in her math class, so he's probably smart too."

"Yeah, whatever."

Akito didn't really have anything else to call Eiji but weird. He was actually really quiet in class and mostly kept to himself. When girls approached him, he typically acted uninterested, but that just made him more concerned that what he and Sana might develop would be too real.

Akito didn't go the party that night. He just layed in bed, wondering how long Sana would think more highly of this guy than she thought of him.

Pig... Hmph... Whatever...

Sana actually had a wonderful time talking to Fujikawa. They talked about their families, the types of schools they'd gone too, and other campuses they'd visited.

She found out that Eiji actually grew up in a foster home and was one if the lucky kids to be adopted at 14. His real mother came and found him 3 years later, but he chose to stay with his foster parents because they were the ones who supported him the longest and, the way he put it, 'never adandoned him'.

"It was a really hard decision, but when I read your mom's book My daughter and I vol. 2 she talked about you're expirience with your real mom, and how you chose to stay with Misako instead of her. I was speechless at your strength, and I wanted to make my foster parents feel as good as your mom felt."

They had a great time and laughed a lot, then the two parted ways when they got back to their building.

When Sana got to her dormroom, Akito was sitting outside reading a book.

He looked up at her, "How was your date?"

"How was your one night stand?" She retorted.

Akito rolled his eyes, "I skipped it."

Sana looked at the knob and saw a sock.

"Well how mature of you Akito. I'm gonna go to the lounge downstairs."

"You can come to my room if you want." He suggested.

Akito taught karate to young kids and worked another part time job just so he could have his own room. Even though Sana had the money, Fu-ka insisted it would be fun to room together so she signed up for a double room, but now Sana was starting to regret it.

"Fine." She said, "But if you do anything to me, I'm calling the police!"

"Yeah, yeah."

Akito's room was clean and had cable tv. His floors looked like he shined them every day, and his closet was color coded and neat.

"Wow, you should see our room, it's a disaster."

"I bet. Probably hair and wet towels everywhere."

Sana couldn't even argue with him. There really was both of those things, everywhere.

Akito sat on his bed and took a deep breath, "Look Kurata, if you wanna date this Fujikawa guy, I won't stop you... but just be careful he's not some stalker that's gonna sell your conversations to the media or something."

Sana took a seat next to the former boss monkey, readying herself for the type of conversation they were about to have, "Hayama, he's a good guy. He was actually adopted just like me, and his mom came to find him just like mine. He said mommas books helped him make the decision to stay with his foster parents."

Akito was silent.

"I actually had a really great time tonight."

"Yeah, well I didn't." Akito said bluntly, "I... I don't... want you out with other guys.

"So you get to sleep around with other girls, but I can't go to dinner with a friend?"

"I haven't slept with anybody yet! Why do you keep acting like that's all I do?"

Sana sighed, "Look, if you want to have casual sex, have casual sex. I'm sorry for agreeing that you were a pig. I get it. You're a guy in college that's into that stuff, and it's no big deal for you, but I'm trying to find someone in this world that wants to be with me in the grand scheme of things... and maybe that's not Fujikawa yet, but maybe someday it could be. I won't know if I don't try."

"Why try now? Why with him?"

Sana's eyes glazed over and fell toward the floor, "I thought I knew who I was going to be with... but... I think it's time I stop holding onto the past and move on."

Akito saw that Sana was near tears. His casual sex comment had hurt her in a way he never intended.

"Look... I couldn't sleep last night when I found out you were going to dinner with that guy... I didn't mean to-"

"You were planning to go with that sorority girl to her party anyway... to do who knows what!" Sana Interjected, turning her back to him.

Akito put a hand on her shoulder, "I was only going to go if you came."

"Well that's weird... you perve."

"You know what I mean Kurata. I was never going to have sex with her. I just wanted you to... tell me not to..." Akito paused. "Look that didn't come out right. I wanted... I wanted..."

He let go of Sana's shoulder, and took a deep breath.

He had never been the best at communication- but fortunately for him, Sana knew that, and rarely made him voice his more complicated thoughts.

She looked over at him. His fists were balled up, and his gaze fell as far away from Sana as possible. She placed a hand on his shoulder, and brushed his cheek with the other.

Akito's blushed, still quite tense at first, but after a few moments of taking in Sana's touch, he noticeably eased up.

"Hayama... can you just promise me something?"

"What is it?"

Sana swallowed hard.

"If you decide to have sex... casual... or with a girlfriend or friend or whatever... just please... don't tell me about it."

Akito nodded.

"I'm saving myself... for my husband... so I just want to pretend you're saving your self for yours too..."

"For my husband?"

"You know what I mean..."

Akito patted Sana on the head, then took her in an embrace.

"If I have sex, you'll be the first person to know."

"I said don't tell me!"

"Yeah, yeah."

What an airhead...

It only took a moment for Sana to dose off in Akito's warmth.

She'd been aching for access to his seeming unattainable heart for so long, and in that moment, she felt like he was hers.

This was originally going to be a one-shot, but I decided I liked it enough to continue the story. Hope ya'll enjoyed it. Let me know what you think.
