AN1: Happy 2025 everyone! I don't think this is a super serious story especially as my Kairi Uzumaki series has pretty select following but I enjoy every review or comment I do get so I will take it. I will say that Naruto does have the habit of scaling his abilities due to the circumstances and opponents rather then outright beating them. I know Naruto did kill Code but that was a rather unique situation due to knowing he could not be redeemed and would just keep adding to the sins of the world if left alone. Kawaki is different in his mind.
Chapter 7 7-Kawaki's Surprising Punishment
Naruto picked up Boruto into his arms and let him rest. He turned over Boruto's right palm showing the Kama was no longer there as it vanished along with Momoshiki soul.
"It's okay Boruto. You don't need the Kama anymore. You have gotten strong without it and you can live without it." Naruto told him proudly as the unconscious Boruto seemed to smile.
Naruto looked up and winked seemingly knowing the group in Kohona was still watching him.
"Do you believe me now? I keep my promises and make miracles happen wherever I go!" Naruto shouted as Shikamaru rolled his eyes in a playful manner.
"Always have to shout things out loud huh Naruto? We get it. You are someone to trust and put our faith behind." Shikamaru sighed although with a notable pleased smile.
"Sarada-chan! You will need to take care of Boruto for me! He will need you and his friends more then ever when he returns! Especially you! You love him, right?" Naruto shouted smirking seemingly imagining Sarada's reaction.
"Baka Not Hokage-sama! Don't say things like that out loud!" Sarada yelled with her face red which only got redder when Sumire, Himawari, Hanabi and even Mitsuki gave her teasing smiles.
"…. I was going to be there for him without being prompted to… He is important to me…" Sarada stated firmly but with slightly flustered cheeks as Sumire playfully rolled her eyes and put a hand on her hip cocking it to the side.
"I would say he is important to you Sarada-chan. As soon as he came back to the village even though he was considered a wanted criminal, the first thing you did was rush into his arms without a care in the world. If that isn't some sort of 'love' I don't know what is." Sumire added as Sarada face turned scarlet as Mitsuski and Himawari eyes widened at the declaration.
Naruto smiled up at them before his face turned sincere and kind.
"It's alright Sarada-chan. People have the right to choose who they love and I know Boruto cares a great deal about you. You will just have to take to slow and you will both find your way to each other. Only you can decide how that path goes. That's just my advice of course. It's up to you if you want to be something more then friends or teammates." Naruto replied making everyone jump up in surprise.
"Wait you can hear us from this side? I know you can tell we were watching you but you could hear our conversations as well?" Ada asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I didn't hear you when I was fighting Momoshiki but now that I am aware and the X-blade is not making it a one-way signal. I can hear you as if I was standing next to you despite being in another Time-space." Naruto acknowledged with a nod.
Naruto turned his head in the direction where he knew Himawari was standing.
"Hima-chan…. Now that your brother is himself truly and no longer anything controlling him you can be the siblings you were before. That means you have to give a lot of hugs alright? You don't need to hide your feelings anymore." Naruto stated as Himawari beamed and bounced slightly on her heels.
"Oh, of course Papa! I promise I will make sure Nii-chan will never feel alone again!" Himawari replied cheerfully as her eyes grew soft.
'You need hugs too Papa. I can tell you are feeling alone despite your brave face.' Himawari thought sadly as the Kurama inside of her nodded slightly making her heart feel warm.
Naruto turned his gaze to Sumire who despite only seeing him on the mist like imagine blushed at his indirect gaze.
"Naruto-sama… You did rescue Boruto-kun like you promised… Is there anything you can't do?" Sumire asked nervously as she looked down at her feet with her hands behind her back.
Naruto smile grew at her comment before he gave her sly wink.
"There isn't anything I can't do to see your pretty smile. It really lights up your face when you smile or even when you blush. Your boyfriend whoever it will be will be one lucky guy. He better appreciate how lucky he is." Naruto stated cheerfully.
"Eep! Naruto-sama!" Sumire squealed as she put her hands over her pure red cheeks looking at Naruto's winking face and teasing tone made her heart throb and beat thousand times more or least that is what it felt like.
This time Sarada was the one with a teasing smile as she playfully bumped her hip against her close friend.
"You could do worst then Naruto-san. I am just saying he does have some attractive traits." Sarada noted as Sumire looked like she wanted the ground to swallow her up in embarrassment.
"I approve Sumire-Nee-chan!" Himawari chirped making Sumire cheeks turned even redder.
"You really are rather pretty Sumire. You shouldn't compare yourself to anyone else. Your smile is something precious to be treasured." Naruto stated softer and more sincere as his voice lost its teasing tone but he gave her an eye smile as he lifted Boruto onto his back.
"Now I am about… Dammit I guess we are out of time." Naruto was about to say before his eyes narrowed seemingly sensing something.
Shikamaru was about to ask what was wrong until the group heard hissing from the door as letters appeared on the door which started to fade away.
"What the? How is the seal and barrier around this room being undone? It requires a very specific set of handsigns that only the current Hokage knows!" Shikamaru asked as the letters on the door continued to fade as the glow around the door started to flow and fade.
"Don't look at me! Even when I was under Omnipotence I didn't share the handsigns despite being your aid Lord 8th!" Konohamaru stated defensively when Shikamaru briefly looked over at him from the corner of his eyes.
Before anyone else could say anything, the Barrier Jutsu was undone as the doorknob opened revealing the Village Elders who looked both annoyed and smug.
"Honoured Elders…. What can we do for you? I thought I made it clear this was a private meeting and you would not be needed." Shikamaru asked with notable edge of annoyance despite his attempts to look neutral and respectiveful.
'The real question is how they undid the seals? Despite outward appearances I know Lord 8th doesn't truly trust them and he wouldn't have told them the handsigns to undo the current Barrier Jutsu?' Hanabi thought with narrowed eyes.
"Acting 8th Hokage. We have decided that your judgement has been impaired and thus measures must be taken." Koharu stated sharply narrowing her eyes when she saw that the group had grown since she was kicked out along with Homaru.
"This brings us no joy to act directly against the current Hokage but Konoha must be put first not the wishes of individuals." Homaru claimed although his tone showed he took some pleasure at speaking down to Shikamaru.
"How exactly do you intend to punish my so called 'impaired judgement'? You two are not exactly in your prime anymore honoured Elders." Shikamaru asked politely but also with a mocking hint as Koharu smirked.
"Who said we are alone?" Koharu asked as they stepped into the office along with a dozen Anbu Black Ops making everyone get into defensive positions.
"Please Lord 8th. Do not resist. We do not relish having to fight you if we do not have too." One male Anbu stated although his voice was rather emotionless.
Shikamaru narrowed his eyes before sighing.
"Sigh. Come out Ino. I know you were the ones who unlocked the barrier. It is the only possible to undo it from someone I told the handsigns and you are the most likely candidate." Shikamaru announced making Konohamaru and Hanabi looked rather shocked as a sad looking Ino stepped into the office.
"Sorry Shikamaru. This isn't personal." Ino claimed looked guilty as she looked down when she saw Shikamaru give her a disappointed look.
"Ino… I thought we trusted each other. I am disappointed you went to the Elders instead of talking to me directly about your concerns." Shikamaru noted sourly as Ino glared at him clenching her fists in anger.
"You have been acting erratic ever since Boruto came to the village! Do you forget he is a criminal and we should have interrogated him but you didn't take him down to the holding cells!" Ino stated sharply looked at Shikamaru with fierce eyes.
"I heard that Naruto saved your son's life and you repay him by going to arrest Boruto?" Hanabi yelled angrily as several of the Anbu looked ready to arrest her as she stepped towards Ino who wined. A hand from Koharu made the Anbu stopped them.
Several of the Anbu looked confused subtly at the mention of Naruto but kept in formation.
"….. I am a Ninja of the village first before a mother and friend. I can't let my personal feelings get in the way of the safety of the village. Boruto is a threat that needs to be addressed and Shikamaru harbouring him will bring misfortune on all of Konoha." Ino explained stiffly as she notably hardened her expression making Hanabi give her a look of disgust.
'What happened here. Less then a day ago all these people wanted to arrest Boruto as well but most of the people here seemed almost protective of him now. I know Boruto said something to Shikamaru but how did he convince everyone else here of something? Was it the Naruto who isn't Naruto involved somehow?' Ino thought as her own thoughts were still being manipulated by Omnipotence despite the inconsistences brought up by Boruto from before.
Ada was calm as she continued to sit patiently resisting the urge to yawn but she did look at the corner of her eye.
'It seemed that the other Naruto closed the connection to his Time Space before they broke in. I wonder when he will arrive back in this dimension? It doesn't seem like he is the type to hide away when his friends get into trouble.' Ada thought with amusement.
The Anbu started to box in Boruto's friends and family who looked rather uneasy as they formed a circle with Ada and Daemon just sitting in a corner seemingly uncaring.
"Try to capture me or Nee-chan. I dare you. See what happens." Daemon taunted with a cocky smile as the Anbu wisely choose to ignore the Cyborg siblings.
"Lord 8th… I known the situation is dire but to hurt them…." Hanabi noted with a trouble expression as she had her hands forward but was reluctant to use the Gentle Fist against Konoha Ninjas.
"I know… They are just confused but still they are our comrades after all." Konohamaru noted as he used a Trench Knife to bat away a few kunai that notably had Lightning Style chakra infused with them.
'They aren't trying to kill us. They are still trying to subdue and capture us. I guess it makes sense. We are still high value ninjas to the Leaf 'traitor' or not. This is such a drag! Why did Kawaki have to be so stupid to use Omnipotence?' Shikamaru noted as half heartedly batted away a few senbon needles with a kunai.
"Kawaki! Please get away from them! They are dangerous!" Koharu commanded seeing as her altered memories mostly had Kawaki be reckless but innocent of any real crimes.
"Tch. Don't tell me what to do! I do what I want!" Kawaki hissed as he surprisingly kicked away an Anbu who was trying to grab Himawari.
"Kawaki…" Himawari mumbled looking rather uncertain of her adopted brother who made it clear he was still going to kill her real brother at any moment.
"Stop spacing out! People will not hold back against you forever!" Kawaki snapped but with a strangely gentle look in his eyes as Himawari looked away.
Sumire and Sarada were back-to-back before they rushed forward to have Himawari against their back in a triangle formation. Meanwhile Kakashi and an unmasked Koji Kashin seemed to no have no issues battling away three Anbu each with just basic Taijustsu showing they were both Kage level for a reason.
Ino was just standing there with a look of guilt for betraying Shikamaru but unwilling to directly harm her best friend and former teammate much to Koharu and Homaru.
All the sudden there was a ripple in the air that made everyone jump back leaving a clear divide in the middle of the room where one side had Boruto's family and friends and the other side Ino, The elders and the Anbu on the other side.
"Man, I leave for just abit and you guys already in trouble! Sheesh! Sakura-chan has called me a trouble magnet before but I feel you guys are the real magnet for trouble!" Naruto commented as he stepped out of the Time Space Ripple from his Kamui as his eyes were only briefly in their Mangekyou Sharingan form but reverted to their blue eyes as soon as he stepped out.
"Naruto! You came back!" Hanabi shouted in surprise before she noticed Boruto unconscious in his arms.
"Hehe did you really doubt me? I am here to fix things remember?" Naruto joked with a bright smile before he pivoted to stare at the elders with an annoyed expression.
"Oh, you guys again. I guess I should have figured you couldn't stay away and interfere huh?" Naruto stated flatly as he could sense the confusion from the Anbu but calm resolve on their faces.
"Tch! You again. You even brought the traitor Boruto with you. You are really quite the handful and pest." Koharu hissed as Naruto rolled his eyes.
"Lord 7th? No he is far too young…" One of the Anbu whispered not so quietly as several of the Anbu looked uncertain at Naruto's appearance.
"Enough! He is an enemy of the Leaf! He is helping the criminal Boruto and has been shown to ignore the leadership orders!" Homaru stated as the Anbu looked uncertain but saluted the Elders.
Shikamaru glared at the Elders as he waved his right arm in front of him.
"This is not Lord 7th but he is a guest of the Hidden Leaf under my protection as a guest! I will not allow you speak down at him like that!" Shikamaru yelled as the Anbu shook their head solemnly.
"Sorry sir. Until we know otherwise, we must treat your judgement as compromised despite being Acting Hokage. You have shown not following procedure when it comes to the known criminal Boruto. This is not personal but simply procedure." One of the male Anbu stated sadly.
Naruto flipped them off making Sarada smirk while Himawari and Sumire barely resist giggling at his disrespect. Kakashi and Konohamaru sighed but looked resigned at the looks of outrage from the Elders.
Naruto gently set Boruto down by Sarada as she, Himawari and Hanabi fussed over him much to the Anbu's confusion.
"I will finish healing him in abit. He is just unconscious from exhaustion. It's not quite the same as a Jinchuriki losing their Tailed Beast but he did lose a soul that was bounded to him for years. It's best to let him rest for abit but he perfectly fine." Naruto assured the women who sighed in relief. Konohamaru let out a deep breath as his worry seemed to leak out of him.
Naruto kept his gaze on his friends but it was clear he wasn't unaware of the glares sent by the Elders before he turned his gaze to Ino. Ino winced at his neutral if not unimpressed expression.
"Ino… Honestly, I am abit disappointed. I thought you would hold onto your convictions abit more. Doesn't this seem wrong to betray your friend or do you not think this whole situation is abit off?" Naruto asked.
Ino glared at him and threw a few shuriken who Naruto easily tore to shreds by a quick hand sign and application of Wind chakra.
"You have no idea Naruto! You are not even the Naruto I know! Yes it sucked to betray Shikamaru but I have to think of the village first! The village my son and his generation are living in! Sheltering Boruto is basically a time bomb to go off! If not us then every other village will be hammering for his head at some point! Shikamaru is putting a target on our head that even the Fire Daimyo will not be able to ignore!" Ino shouted in anger and frustration as Shikamaru and Konohamaru winced at.
The Elders nodded their heads although notably looked solemn rather smug unlike before.
'Ah I see despite their so called 'power' they are also getting pressured by the Fire Daimyo to show results. They are merely trying to push the burden onto Shikamaru for not getting it done as quick.' Naruto noted seeing their somewhat pained expressions.
"Ino… It's not what you think… Boruto isn't the man you think he is." Shikamaru stated carefully knowing that Omnipotence would make her doubt anything she was told that would contradict the idea of Kawaki being the unfortunate son of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga who lost his parents. Or the idea that Boruto was a nobody who was lucky enough to be adopted by THE Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga only to be ungrateful and kill them and even his adopted brother.
Ino turned to Shikamaru with a fierce glare that also showed desperation.
"Then why don't you explain it to me huh? Don't give me that Hokage BS! I am your friend first right! If there is something going on then just tell me now! Please Shikamaru! Trust me!" Ino demanded pleading for Shikamaru to tell her the truth.
Konohamaru and Shikamaru exchanged a look as Naruto avoided the combined Taijutsu of 4 Anbu bobbing and weaving out of their coordinated strikes.
"Papa!" Himawari shouted in worry as Naruto turned his head towards her even as he continued to avoid and parry the Anbu attacks.
"There isn't a need to worry. Your Papa is strong after all. Me too as well." Naruto replied back to her with an eye smile as he caught one Anbu's arm and threw him into the other three making them crash into the ground with a grunt.
"Ino… You wouldn't believe me if I told you the truth." Shikamaru tried to explain as Ino seemed to get even madder.
"Try me!" Ino demanded putting her hands on her hips glaring at Shikamaru.
'She is just like we were. Too stubborn to question what was in our memories. It doesn't matter if we tell her she won't believe us.' Konohamaru thought in sorrow.
"What if I told you that Boruto was actually the son of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga and that Kawaki was the ungrateful brat who betrayed his adopted family? Would you believe that is the truth?" Naruto asked bluntly as he gave Ino and the Elders a serious expression.
'He is just saying it outright! What courage! That is pretty hot….' Ada thought with a mild blush admiring his blunt and powerful presence.
Ino looked at Naruto like he was crazy while the Elders scoffed and the Anbu shook their heads. Himawari noticed the distressed looks on Sumire and Sarada as Sarada cradled Boruto in her arms. Boruto woke up with a stoic expression that grew happier when he realized he was in Sarada's arms.
"It will be okay Boruto. We saw Other Hokage-sama free you from the Kama!" Sarada whispered as Brouto looked at his palm with wide eyes before a smile appeared seeing it no longer have the Kama on his palm.
'This must be the looks everyone over the three years gave them while we were under Kawaki's spell. Making them think they were crazy… This is just too horrible to imagine seeing those looks every day while they tried to give Onii-chan a chance.' Himawari thought sadly.
"That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. If you were trying to prime sympathy points you could have chosen something better Naruto." Ino stated dismissively as Naruto could feel and see a dark outline of Ada's Omnipotence warping her perception along with the Elders and the Anbu.
Naruto raised his hands and shrugged.
"Well, I tried the talking way and as long this continues it won't matter. No matter what I said it will sound like an excuse or lie so there isn't a chance they will believe me." Naruto commented before he smirked.
'Oh oh. Naruto is going to do something random isn't he?' Hanabi thought although she seemed more amused then anything at the counterpart of her brother in law.
"I think this place is abit too crowded for such serious talks. Let's go somewhere else for abit." Naruto stated as everyone eyes widened at his statement.
"Arrest him now! Before he can unleash his Jutsu!" Koharu commanded as the Anbu tried to dash forward and pin down Naruto.
"Naruto-sama!" Sumire shouted urgently as she brought up a kunai to defend him before Naruto smirk widened.
Suddenly before anyone could react red chakra arms came out of his back pinning down each of the Anbu with one hand each to the ground. He picked up Ino notably more gently while his hands gripped Koharu and Homaru just enough to avoid breaking their brittle bones. His other hands gently held each other person's shoulders including Kawaki who looked surprised at the gentle approach he was using even for him.
"Now then. Let us 'fly' out of here. Don't worry it will be less then a…." Naruto started as he made a hand sign with hands as everyone eyes widened.
"A flash." Naruto finished as the group had vanished instantly and reappeared in an empty field with a woosh sound being the only effect showing he had teleported. He released his chakra arms which returned to his body as chakra.
"That was just like…" Mitsuki noted looking at Boruto and Naruto with surprise.
"The Flying Rajin Jutsu. Here is a history lesson you might not here about in the modern books. The Yellow Flash of the Leaf aka the 4th Hokage Minato Namikaze and my father was the most well-known user for the Time Space Jutsu and many people thought he invented it. However, the truth is that it was developed and created by the Second Hoakge Tobirama Senju decades before. Father merely learned and refined the Jutsu with most people not knowing about Tobirama's usage." Naruto lectured as the younger generation were hanging on his other word with focused and curious eyes.
'It seems this Naruto would be a great teacher as well. He knows what people want to hear and how to say it. He can get people to listen to him with his charism and words alone.' Koji Kashin noted with a smile silently.
"So, you can use that Jutsu as well. The Naruto Uzumaki here never learned it despite becoming Hokage." Homaru commented silently as he and Koharu were leaning against a few rocks behind them.
Naruto gave them unimpressed looks and shrugged.
"Again, I am not the same Naruto. My eyes alone should be proof I went down a different path then the Naruto who became Hokage in this world." Naruto stated as his eyes turned to their Rinnegan form with 9 Tomoe each.
This made the Anbu look at him with awe and the Elders look even more wearily at him while Ino looked lost and distracted.
Kawaki gripped his fist as he kept looking at Naruto and Boruto with angered expression.
'Dammit it was so easy to be able to kill my bro when he was an evil Otsutsuki who had to be stopped by every since that other him showed up nothing makes sense! He actually managed to remove Momoshiki from bro! He isn't an Otsutsuki anymore! What do I do now?' Kawaki thought in frustration as an imagine of a smiling Boruto and a menacing Momoshiki kept flashing back and forth in his mind.
'Kawaki…. Is he still going to kill Boruto after everything that has happened? Or perhaps he is having a moral crisis that his entire goal of wiping out All the Otsutsuki has gone up in flames since Naruto has come to this world?' Ada thought before looking down with a confused expression.
'Nee-chan what you will do if they try to kill Kawaki after Naruto undoes your Omnipotence? Will you still protect him after he is proven to be hardly a knight or prince but rather a brat? A brat who doesn't think things through or care about the consequences of his actions.' Daemon thought seeing his sisters distressed expression.
"The Rinnegan…. The last person to have them have all been traitors or enemies of the leaf. Nagato aka Pain, Madara Uchiha and Sasuke Uchiha. Now even an alternate Naruto Uzumaki possesses them. Will those eyes bring nothing but destruction to the Leaf?" Homaru asked sorrowfully as Naruto rolled his eyes as they returned to their normal blue eyes state.
"Tch my Rinnegan doesn't define me. It merely something a part of me. Like Hashirama was more then his Wood Style. What made him Hokage was his kindness in an era of constant war and despite his flaws he was a great man!" Naruto stated as he ducked several barrages of Wind and Earth chakra from the Anbu.
"Hmm seems like you won't stop till you get Boruto huh and all the so-called traitors? Do you guys think for yourself at all or are you like Root who only follow orders?" Naruto asked as he made an Earth Wall with what appeared to be a flick of his wrists due to his speed of handsigns. This made the barrage of Fire and Water Jutsu collide and get destroyed against his superior Earth Wall.
The Anbu had neutral expressions due to their masks although several seemed to be shaking in anger while Homaru and Koharu narrowed their eyes at the slight against their former teammates not so secret Anbu program. Shikamaru looked away with a sad expression while Sumire looked down at her hands.
'Father…' Sumire thought sadly as her father was part of Root and held great resentment when the identities of Root members were revealed following the 4th Ninja War and Danzo crimes were revealed. Her father pushed that resentment onto her as a child and this made Sumire almost destroy the village once before.
"Enough! Restrain him and if its not possible kill him at once! He is far too powerful to take any risks!" Koharu commanded as the Anbu got into stances.
"Stop! I command you! Stand Down!" Shikamaru tried to command them but the Anbu were steadfast.
"Sorry Shikamaru but this is an emergency. You are only acting Hokage and you are helping Boruto. They won't listen to you anymore. This isn't personal." Ino commented as she pulled out a kunai but she notably looked sad and lost.
Naruto gave Shikamaru a side eye looks of sympathy before he pulled 4 kunai into each hand in between his fingers. Koji and Boruto eyes widened at they recognized what the kunai were for.
'Now Boruto can see in real time the true terror and power of the true Flying Rajin. The Jutsu that caused Minato Namikaze to be feared at the 'Yellow Flash of the Leaf' and for Tobirama Senju to be known as the 'Fastest man of his era.' in an era of the clan wars.' Koji thought with a smil.
"Fall back now! Don't group up and jump back as quick as you can!" Homaru commanded as Naruto smirked.
"Ah right you were Old Man Second's students and you lived while Dad was the Yellow Flash. So, you would recognize this. However, you are too late." Naruto stated as even as 8 of the Anbu leapt away in different directions.
4 of them rushed Naruto who smirked. One of them sent a slash at him with his Tanto which Naruto blocked with his forearm which notably was not cut. That same Anbu flipped upwards as another Anbu came in with a Tanto infused with Fire Chakra. Naruto ducked down so his back and head with perpendicular to the ground. He sent an elbow to Anbu with a Fire Infused Tano who was sent flying with spirals in their eyes. He then flipped upwards by using his left hand to push himself up. He sent a kick to the third Anbu who was attempted to slash at him while he was on the ground. This sent the third Anbu crashing into the ground leaving a crater and them knocked out. He made a seal less Body Flicker Jutsu appearing behind the first Anbu who he knocked out with a chop on his neck instantly.
This happened in less then an instant as the Anbu were in mid jump backwards. Naruto flicked the kunai in 8 directions roughly where the 8 Anbu were leaping. Naruto vanished and reappeared in the same spot as all that could be seen was blur and 8 individual thuds as the rest of the Anbu were knocked out with punches to the gut. Naruto kunai were already back in his pouch as he gave Ino a glare who closed her eyes before dropping to her knees in surrender.
"Now will you stop being a nuisance and surrender?" Naruto asked as he turned to the two Village Elders with a frown who glared at him.
"You boy are the nuisance. You clearly are not Naruto Uzumaki the 7th Hokage and yet you are poking your nose into Konoha affairs. You really are just a brat who doesn't know his place." Koharu stated resentfully but the Elders did drop their knees in surrender.
Himawari, Sumire, Sarada, Shikamaru, Konohamaru, Hanabi, Kakashi and Boruto glared at them for that comment. Naruto just rolled his eyes and shrugged.
"I guess. However, I do find it abit perplexing you are that gung-ho on executing Boruto without a trial. You clearly have issues with Shikamaru and Naruto the 8th and 7th Hokage respectively. It's hard to believe you would be THAT heartbroken that Naruto was missing to the point you would stop at nothing to kill Boruto." Naruto suggested with a thoughtful expression.
"Naruto what are you saying? These are orders and the general public opinion on the matter." Shikamaru asked as he and Konohamaru winced knowing till recently they were part of the public opinion.
"I think the Fire Daimyo and the other Daimyo are putting pressure on them to wipe the 'stain of the Hokage Killer' no matter what?" Naruto stated as Koharu and Homaru stayed quiet.
"Not that it matters. Once I rescue Naruto and Hinata then this can all be put to bed. Of course, I release Omnipotence first before as it will be annoying to keep knocking everyone out before I can release them." Naruto stated as Ada was about to say something but a quick look from Naruto made her quiet.
Kawaki gripped his hands in anger as he stared at the group.
'It's because of him everything is ruined! I know I want Boruto to not be an Otsutsuki but he is too soft to do what is needed to keep Lord 7th safe!' Kawaki thought bitterly showing his mentality was still rather warped and single minded.
Ino and the Elders looked up at Naruto with shock.
"What are you talking about? If they aren't dead then where are they?" Ino demanded as Naruto sighed as his eyes turned to Obito's Mangekyō Sharingan form before returning to blue.
"Kamui is not the only alternate Dimension you can store people. Naruto and Hinata are simply another dimension unconscious and unable to escape. It happened the same time you were told Boruto killed them and he was named as 'Hokage Killer'. But you won't listen so here." Naruto stated as he snapped his fingers.
There was another burst of light as Ino screamed while the Elders winced. Even the knocked-out Anbu looked uncomfortable for a few seconds before the light dimmed. The Elder eyes were glossed over while Ino eyes were wide with shock and regret.
"Shikamaru? Were you acting to save Boruto because you knew he was innocent?" Ino whispered looking up at her former teammate and one of her best friends who looked down.
"Not quite. I took the facts along with Amando's testimony that his memories were being changed into mind. It all made sense when I considered the fact it all fit if Boruto was actually Naruto's flesh and blood child and not Kawaki. It wasn't easy to trust Boruto though as Omnipotence kept trying to change my memories back to trust Kawaki. It wasn't until this Naruto came and released the Shinjutsu on a group of us that I could truly remember and trust Boruto again." Shikamaru admitted as Ino looked over at an alternate version of the blonde man who would become 7th Hokage. The same man who saved her son's life who looked over at her with a friendly smile.
"Hey Ino. So, you got together with Sai huh? I could see it as you did have a connection even in my world. I am glad the Sasuke thing didn't get in the way of you and Sakura-chan like it did when were kids." Naruto noted before he looked at his left hand.
"It seems I am getting more used to my powers as its getting easier to remove Omnipotence without too much of side effects. Now time to get Amando as I know he has been watching this entire time through Delta and especially Kawaki." Naruto stated as his eyes returned to Obito's Mangekyō Sharingan form.
Boruto and Sarada looked over at Kawaki who growled as he put his left hand over his left eye.
"Tch that jerk is still using my body like he always has." Kawaki stated resentfully with notable hatred as if he was sending it directly to Amando on the other side of his eyes.
"Found ya Amadao. Sorry but you are going to be here for this. No hiding in the stereotypical 'mad scientist' way." Naruto declared as his right eye spun in its Mangekyō Sharingan form. Naruto vanished in a swirl using Kamui.
He then grabbed the surprised Amado by the shoulder. Before Amado could say anything else they vanished again in a ripple through the air and reappeared in the empty field.
"Wow… That is certainly a different experience. I have heard stories and read reports that Kara had on Obito Uchiha and Kakashi Hatake. They mentioned multiple times the infamous Kamui ability of Obito-san and Kakashi-sama but this is the first time I have gotten to experience it personally. Another experience to log that I never thought I would be able to." Amado noted calmly as he stood up and patted his pants to get the dust off.
Amado turned to Naruto who raised a hand up to prevent anyone from rushing at Amado.
"Of course, even with all my resources and knowledge I never knew there were alternative multiple worlds that would have different versions of us. Especially an alternate version of the 7th Hokage who is not only quite abit younger but has abilities that boggle the mind like the Rinnegan. Even the ability to erase Omnipotence which should not be possible." Amado added looking at Naruto with curious eyes.
Naruto raised an eyebrow before snapping his right fingers. There was a brief light before Amado blinked in confusion before shaking my head.
"Oh, thank you. I suppose that is you dispelling Ada's Omnipotence? Its like a fog has clear. I did have thoughts on my memories being modified or changed but now that the Shinjutsu has been dispelled my thoughts are my own again. I am not constantly thinking of Boruto and Kawaki as each other. The discrepancies have been solved now that I can think clearly." Amado noted as Naruto gave him a side eye.
"Hmm you calmly analyzing and not thinking or the moral issues or guilt associated with Omnipotence…. I can see why people like Kawaki and Shikamaru have issues with you. I can also see why Kohona has use for you." Naruto stated as Amado just shrugged.
"It's hard to be popular. Now what will you do with Kawaki? He has been exposed and his reasons for doing his actions are pretty much void now that Boruto-kun is no longer an Otsutsuki. Please do not kill him if possible. He still has my daughter data in his Kama and he is the only one who can revive her." Amado asked calmly as if he was talking about the weather.
Ada looked over at Kawaki who was growling softly and holding his fist in anger and frustration.
"We should just execute him!" Hanabi suggested as Shikamaru sighed.
"I understand how you feel especially as he is the reason why we hunted Boruto for the three years, however he still has Naruto and Hinata in his Time Space correct? That is the only logical conclusion based on everything that has happened and what we do know." Shikamaru asked Naruto who looked at Kawaki for a moment before nodding.
"They are in a space formed from his usage of Daikokuten. They are unconscious and they are neither aging nor requiring food or water. They are basically frozen in the same state they were when Kawaki formed a Rift to capture them. He intended to release them once all the Otsutsuki are dead and let Naruto kill him for killing Boruto." Naruto explained before he raised his hand up again.
"Before anyone tries anything. I need to remind you justice against Kawaki is up to me. I am the one who exposed his crimes and therefore I get to decide how Kawaki is punished. Without me you would all still be chasing Boruto and punishing him. This is my job to punish him." Naruto stated sternly as his blue eyes seemed to be just as frightening as his Mangekyō Sharingan.
"Papa… I know Kawaki did something horrible but he is still family…." Himawari whispered as Kawaki looked at her in surprise.
Naruto turned to Boruto who looked at Kawaki with sad expression while Kawaki looked down at his feet.
"Boruto. What do you think? You were the biggest victim of what happened. Not only were you hunted but your parents were trapped by Kawaki even if it was to protect them." Naruto asked kindly as Boruto looked down biting his lip before looking up with determination.
"Despite everything that has happened. Kawaki is still my bro. I don't want him to die or get punished for what happened." Boruto declared as Kawaki was wide eyed at the declaration.
The majority of the people looked surprised at Boruto with Himawari beaming at her true blood brother. Sarada sighed but she and Sumire smiled seemingly predicting this. Naruto nodded to himself.
"Kawaki. You probably hate me for making this all complicated for you? You had such a simple plan till I got involved. I will let you duel for your freedom. Based on how the duel goes will determine what your punishment will be. How about it? You fight in a trial by combat. It doesn't need to be the death." Naruto asked Kawaki before smirking.
"Sorry inside joke. Trial by combat is something from a previous world I went to where the accused had a champion fight to the death against the champion of the accused to determine guilt. If their champion won aka killed the other champion they would be found innocent. If not, they would die. Barbaric but that world was pretty backwards to be begin with." Naruto noted seeing the confused looks. AN2:
'Him casually revealing secrets like that probably means he sees no reason to keep the existence of other worlds secret. I know there are people like Danzo who would do anything to hoard that information for himself.' Kakashi thought with pride at Naruto being himself.
Kawaki looked at Naruto before looking at Boruto and Himawari with guilt.
"Fine. A battle is the best way to get this over with. I won't argue with whatever happens at the end." Kawaki announced even as Boruto and Himawari looked at him with concern. The siblings walked over to him but Kawaki put his hand up.
"Enough. I put this on myself with my actions. I have no right to pretend I wasn't being a jerk taking it all on myself and hurting you both." Kawaki noted sombrely as Boruto and Himawari reluctantly nodded and stood by Sumire and Sarada who looked numbly at Kawaki.
"Sis, are you really okay letting that Not Hokage Uzumaki kill Kawaki if it comes down to it? He doesn't matter to me but I will follow your lead." Daemon asked his older sister who bit her lip.
"Kawaki… Your actions have come to bite you in the ass." Ada whispered looking conflicted.
"Everyone step back! Let them fight this out!" Shikamaru commanded as everyone leapt back with Ino grabbing the Elders to leap away from Naruto and Kawaki.
They started with a series of Taijutsu hand to hand combat. It seemed obvious to everyone that Naruto had the edge as Kawaki was struggling to keep up with his panting and annoyed expression. Meanwhile Naruto was calm as a cucumber as he batted away Kawaki frantic punches and kicks with a single hand.
Naruto quickly got through Kawaki guard and slammed his face into the ground as his head throbbed in pain. Naruto attempted a drop kick which Kawaki managed to roll out of the way as a mini crater where Naruto's foot appeared into the ground. Kawaki attempted to slam his right fist forward towards Naruto's face.
'Now to test Kawaki. Will he be able to overcome this one? He won't die but he won't know it.' Naruto thought as he secretly smirked.
"Now Kawaki what will you do now?" Naruto asked as he managed to lock down Kawaki's right hand using his left hand. He quickly made a hand sign using their joined hands making Kawaki narrow his eyes.
Kawaki attempted to slice Naruto's head off using his sword like transformed left arm but Naruto had his arm take the blow as a thump was heard as the arm failed to cut into Naruto's arm. Naruto smirked as he made several hand sighs using Kawa'ski and his conjoined hands. Naruto then sent Kawaki away with a kick before he took a deep breath.
"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!" Naruto yelled as he released a massive burst of win that zoomed towards Kawaki leaving him little chance of avoiding the razor-sharp net of wind.
Kawaki smirked as he quickly made his own Hand signs.
"Fire Style; Great Fireball Jutsu!" Kawaki yelled back as he roared and let out a massive blow of red and yellow fire.
The fireball left his mouth and rushed to meet the Wind net head on. There was a standstill as the fire and wind struggled to overpower each other.
The crowd had to put a hand over their face due to the heat and the wind.
"Incredible. Usually, Fire Style has no problem overpowering and assimilating Wind Style to make itself stronger but Kawaki's Fire style is struggling meaning Naruto's Wind Style is on a different level to start with." Konohamaru noted with notable awe.
For a moment it appeared despite the Fireball superior elemental Nature that it would be still overwhelmed by the stronger and wider Wind net. Kawaki growled as he clenched his left hand. His Kama appeared on the left arm and up to his face covering the left half of his face. His left eye transformed into its Kokugan(black eye) form. This greatly enhanced the power of his Fireball which soon absorbed and grew bigger as it eclipsed the wind.
"Papa! Get out of there!" Himawari shouted out of concern for her alternate father who was now getting surrounded by the wide net of Wind Enhanced Fire.
Naruto turned his head towards the group as his right eye shifted and blinked changing into the Mangekyō Sharingan of Obito Uchiha.
"Are you going to blow it away using Kamui Naruto?" Kakashi asked the counterpart of his student who just smirked.
Naruto turned back around to the quickly surrounding Wind Enhanced Fire wave.
"Amaterasu!" Naruto shouted as his right eye pulsated and out of thin air one hand sized ball of Black Flames appeared in front of him as it had several branches that moved and curved.
"It can't be! He can use other Mangekyō Sharingan abilities? Not just Kamui?!" Kakashi shouted having recognized the signature Mangekyō Sharingan abilities of Itachi and Sasuke Uchiha.
'I figured the Susanoo was simply due to have the Mangekyō Sharingan in both eyes like I did with Kamui.' Kakashi thought as he thought of the people, he knew who had the Susanoo. Itachi, Sasuke. Madara and himself who all had the Mangekyō Sharingan activated in both eyes.
Boruto was also wide eyed seeing his Master Sasuke's Black Flames being used by an alternate version of his father who had Rinnegan and Mangekyō Sharingan.
"Papa's Black Flames? Naruto-san can use them too?" Sarada asked in surprise while Kawaki scoffed.
"You think that tiny black flame can match my power huh? Then burn away!" Kawaki declared as the Orange red Wind Enhanced Fire soon was about to surround and burn Naruto from all sides.
"Hehe you will regret that comment Kawaki. These Black Flames are not ones you have had to fight before." Naruto retorted as the Wind Enhanced Flames came into contact with the relatively small amount of Amaterasu.
To everyone shock except Kakashi Naruto's Amterasu flames actually consumed the Wind Enhanced Fire and grew much bigger as a result as the black flames now grew to the same size as the Wind Enhanced Fire was.
"Naruto-san's Black Flame managed to absorb and consumed that much larger amount of fire?! That's amazing! It was only the size of Naruto's hand and it overpowered fire that was hundreds of times bigger it!" Sumire noted with wide eyes full of wonder and glee.
Kawaki leapt into the air as he looked in shock at Naruto's black flames.
"Impossible! That should have consumed you! Damn you! I won't lose no matter what!" Kawaki shouted angrily as his Kokuganpulsated as he stared into Naruto's wall of Amaterasu enhanced fire with his left eye.
"Sukunahikona!" Kawaki whispered as he sent hundreds of black rods that were roughly the size of his arm at Naruto instantly.
Naruto kept calm as the wall of Amaterasu shifted in front of Naruto and instantly all the Black rods were consumed and destroyed by the black flames.
"Sorry Kawaki. These flames can consume anything they come in contact with including other flames. Other users cannot usually burn this quick but mine are different then Sasuke's or Itachi's." Naruto informed him as the black flames parted so Naruto could talk to Kawaki face to face despite them being dozens of feet apart.
'How far will Naruto go? These flames if you are caught in them are basically game over… Although Kawaki has the Kama and his left eye so he can absorb or shrink the flames. Surely Naruto knows about Kawaki ability at this point so what is he up to?' Kakashi thought to himself watching the two in the air with Naruto surrounded by his Amaterasu wall around him almost like a shield.
"Your flames must still be made from chakra! No matter what fancy term you use they have their weakness!" Kawaki hiss out as Naruto raised an eyebrow.
"Hmm is that what you think Kawaki? Okay block this then." Naruto retorted as his left eye transformed into their Mangekyō Sharingan form matching its right eye counterpart.
Instantly a new tiny black flame appeared next to Kawaki's left arm hovering a few feet away. Kawaki smirked as he placed his left palm where his Kama was towards it. To his and everyone shock it was not sucked into his Kama like most Jutsu based Substance created from pure chakra. Kawaki quickly pulled his left arm back and flew back a dozen feet when the small Black Flames lazily flew towards where his left arm was.
"Naruto's Amaterasu was not sucked into Kawaki's Kama? Why? By all accounts it should be absorbable." Koji asked with confused expression.
Naruto looked over at the group with a smirk.
"Hehe Sasuke's Amaterasu was sucked in and absorbed by Jigen's Kama so I can understand the confusion but like I said my powers are not the same as Sasuke's or Itachi's even if they use the same techniques." Naruto pointed out.
Kawaki used this seemingly brief time where Naruto was letting his guard down as he focused his left eye on the massive wall of Black Flames surrounding Naruto as his walls.
'Sukunahikona' Kawaki thought as his right eye pulsated in its Kokuganstate.
'If I can't absorb them then I can at least shrink them down to a size they won't be able to touch me!' Kawaki thought as he forced chakra to shrink the Black Flames.
To his shock despite having direct visual contact with the Black Flames they did not shrink at all as Naruto turned back around with a sigh.
"You tried to use Sukunahikona to reduce my black flames to a microscopic size, right? That way even though you couldn't absorb them you would make them virtually worthless just hovering in the air?" Naruto asked with a look of pity making Kawaki growl at him.
"Why isn't it working? What makes your powers so damned weird!" Kawaki yelled in frustration as Naruto almost rolled his eyes at how childish Kawaki was acting.
"Jigen or rather Isshiki used Sukunahikona to reduce the size of Koji Kashin's natural flames which couldn't be absorbed by the Kama. So, I do think using that trick was neat idea but sadly it doesn't work on me. My chakra is special even by Six Paths or Otsutsuki standards. Trying to absorb it or reduce its size just isn't going to cut it. Sorry but your time is up Kawaki." Naruto explained sympathetically before his expression grew serious.
'He is being serious! Kawaki is going to…!' Ada thought with wide eyes.
"Daemon! Please…. Save Kawaki…" Ada whispered to her brother who looked rather put off but nodded.
Naruto eyes spun as his Black Flames transformed into what looked like a phoenix who flapped its wings turning towards Kawaki.
"What precise use of the Black Flames. To be able to shape them into such a complicated form and control such a vast amount of it at once. He is truly a master of his Mangekyō Sharingan." Kakashi noted with awe.
"Hey! You can't use something like that! You are going to burn Kawaki to a crisp!" Boruto yelled as Himawari looked uncomfortable as well.
"…. Sorry but he has to be judged. This will be Kawaki's test on what will happen to him for his actions." Naruto stated stoically not looking at his alternate self children.
"Dammit…." Kawaki growled with a look of nervousness at the massive Black Flames Phoenix looked at him with its empty eyes.
Kawaki started to fly away at full speed as Naruto's Mangekyō Sharingan spun as his Amaterasu Phoenix roared and flapped its wings. It soon flew after Kawaki despite Kawaki having a head start.
"You won't get Kawaki. Don't think your body's modified regeneration, will save you! These flames will burn you to ash faster then you can heal!" Naruto declared as the phoenix chased after Kawaki.
Kawaki kept pumping chakra into his feet as he used the Otsutsuki Flight Jutsu to soar further and further away while the Phoenix chased after him.
Kawaki turned around as he gazed above the phoenix with his left eye Kokuganwhich pulsated.
"Daikokuten!" Kawaki shouted as dozens of massive black and red cubes appeared above the phoenix which paused its chase of Kawaki.
"Trying to crush my Amaterasu using sheer numbers and weight? Sorry won't wake. These flames cannot be smothered by something like that." Naruto explained. He pointed at his phoenix to prove his point.
His Amaterasu phoenix shot at the cubes as they attempted to crash into it. They instantly became consumed by flames and started to burn apart in black flames.
Kawaki used this moment to fly at full speed at Naruto who seemingly was not paying attention with his blade like arm aimed at Naruto's throat. Naruto's phoenix showed its speed as it flew faster then Kawaki who was still flying down at Naruto. Naruto flipped backwards in midair avoiding Kawaki's blade as Kawaki barely managed to avoid getting smothered by the entire Phoenix by flying to the side at the last second. However, despite his efforts his shoulder was still caught by the Phoenix's wing as it flew past Kawaki.
"No! It hurts! Stop it! Put it out!" Kawaki screamed in pain as his shoulder started to burn and catch on fire from the brief contact.
"Stop Boruto! This is Kawaki punishment!" Shikamaru yelled as he watched Boruto start to ascend only to for his foot to be caught by Kakashi who gave him a stern look.
"Aunty Hanabi! Please stop Papa! This is too cruel!" Himawari pleaded as Hanabi looked pained but shook his head.
"Kawaki you…." Naruto said as his Mangekyō Sharingan gazed as Kawaki with an impassive expression.
Suddenly Daemon appeared next to Kawaki seemingly from a massive jump from the air. He gave Kawaki a look of distaste but placed his hand on Kawaki's shoulder. Instantly the Black Flames and even the Phoenix were no longer attached to Kawaki but completely surrounded Naruto who raised his eyes.
Naruto was enveloped in his own black flames as he seemed to lose his balance and plummet to the ground.
"Tch. Don't think too much into this Kawaki. I am only doing this because Nee-chan for whatever reason still holds some affection for you and asked me to intervene. Don't expect it again." Daemon told him angrily as Kawaki coughed looking at his no longer on fire shoulder with amazement.
"Daemon activated his Reflection Shinjutsu by touching something with his palms of his hands which happened to be Kawaki shoulder! This transferred the ability to Kawaki which automatically pushed back the flames and phoenix back to the caster Naruto!" Kojo announced in shock.
"Naruto! Dammit! Can anyone get the flames off of him! He is going to be consumed!" Shikamaru shouted with much more concern for Naruto then he did with Kawaki.
Boruto and Himawari despite their worry for Kawaki were still shocked to see the alternate version of their father being consumed by the Jutsu that had been used against Kawaki. Sumire tried to run to the downed Naruto only to be held back for Sarada.
"Don't! You will only be caught up in it! The fire seems to catch based on contact!" Sarada struggled to hold back her friend who looked distraught.
"Naruto!" Hanabi and Ino shouted with concern as Kakashi and Konohamaru narrowed their eyes watching the fire burn but seemed to contained to just a large area around Naruto.
"Huh… I knew about the Reflection ability but I honestly was abit caught off guard to be on the receiving end of it. Congrats Daemon that is certainly a nifty ability you got there." Naruto casual voice rang out from the black flames with no hint of pain or injury in his voice.
"You have got to be kidding! No! This is not fair! Just sit there and be burn away!" Kawaki yelled out in frustration as Naruto slowly got up from the ground even with the Black Flames enveloping him in a large area.
"Were you always so whiny Kawaki? Did my other self never teach you to not whine during a battle? Imagine if you have that attitude towards the God Trees when they don't simply trip and die? Sheesh." Naruto sighed with his tone showing he slapped his forehead in frustration.
"Jigen said something when Sasuke's Amaterasu. He mentioned how marvellous the Black Flames were but how they simply would not work on him. I am not Jigen but I will say no matter how they are used Amaterasu simply won't work on me no matter what is done. Not even a vastly increased reflected Black Flames will work on me." Naruto stated firmly as he waved his hand.
Instantly the wave of Black Flames parted revealing Naruto in his base state unaffected. Naruto's Mangekyō Sharingan looked at the flames before Naruto snapped his fingers. Instantly the Black Flames vanished as Naruto shrugged his shoulders and cracked his knuckles.
"Well now how should we proceed. I should consider this a forfeit on Kawaki part as Daemon did interfere and by all rights as soon as the Kawaki got my Amaterasu on him he was incapacitated." Naruto noted with a hum.
The vast majority of the group had huge smiles seeing Naruto unaffected by the surprise Reflected Black Flames. Boruto and Himawari were also beaming but they did look concerned at Kawaki who was inching away in fear while Daemon yawned un caringly. Ada eyes were wide with fear constantly looking between Kawaki and Naruto.
"Naruto…. I am glad you were not burned but what are you going to do? What is your justice?" Shikamaru asked seriously as Naruto turned to him now without his Mangekyō Sharingan active.
"Hmmm what should I do?" Naruto simply asked with a carefree smile.
Boruto and Himawari looked at each other and nodded. They jumped several times until they were in front of Kawaki and Daemon who looked surprised at their arrival.
"You guys…. What are you doing?" Kawaki asked with notable surprise looking pained when he saw Boruto briefly look over his injuries.
"Are you okay Kawaki? I don't think other Dad was trying to kill you but it does seem you were pushed to your limits." Boruto asked ignoring Kawaki question.
Kawaki enhanced regeneration started to kick in now that the Amaterasu was no longer clinging to him. His burns and bruises started to heal as his skin and bones repaired themselves due to Amado's modifications to his cyborg body.
"What are you doing next to that man?" Mitsuki yelled with pure anger as Boruto turned to his best friend with a neutral expression.
Sarada put a hand on her former teammate who was still growling.
"Mitsuki… You…" Kawaki stated neutrally as Mitsuki glared at him despite Boruto shaking his head.
"It's all because of you this happened! You tried to kill Boruto! You modified all of our memories so our friendship with Boruto was transferred to you and all your crimes was put onto him! You even convinced us that hunting Boruto was the right thing to do! You deserve to die for your crimes!" Mitsuki yelled as Kawaki merely rolled his eyes.
"You can hate me if you want but the fact, I am not your 'sun' or whatever nonsense you thought Boruto was is not my problem. Memories or not I have never pretended I was your friend let alone your saviour. That is your own problem Mitsuki." Kawaki pointed out coldly as Himawari gaped at her adopted brother.
'Baka… You are making it really hard to give any reasons to keep you alive!' Ada thought indignantly.
"Mitsuki… You have every right to be angry but Kawaki was simply acting in his own sense of justice. To protect Dad is all he has every wanted and to be frank I was a danger to Tou-chan. In his mind getting rid of me with every mean including Konoha was the only thing he could have done." Boruto stated sadly as Sarada and Sumire gaped at his sense of forgiveness.
"Boruto… You…." Kawaki mumbled looking at Boruto with notable sense of guilt.
'Hehe he really at his core is the son of Naruto Uzumaki huh? Despite being raised with Sasuke's traits that annoying forgiving attitude is definitely a 'Naruto thing'.' Naruto thought with amusement and pride as a small smile crept at the corners of his mouth.
"Papa please! Don't kill Kawaki! Just make him give back Mama and Papa and then we can be his family! That is what Kawaki needs! Not jail or death! He just needs people to show him that life is worth living and people are good!" Himawari begged as Boruto nodded.
"You guys…. After all of this still think of me as family? You think it's that it can go back to being that simple huh?" Kawaki mumbled as he gazed at his left palm where his inactive Kama was gazing back up at him.
"What do you wanna do Naruto? It is up to you after all what Kawaki faces for what he has done?" Koji asked as everyone turned to Naruto who closed his eyes and crossed his arms.
"Hmm I guess I still get the final call huh? I can assume that my other 'me' would still wanna forgive Kawaki after all of this right? He forgave him after he actually killed Boruto and he was always a forgiving sap according to Sasuke. Shikamaru probably would imprison Kawaki after he released Hinata and Naruto as that is something an advisor who is like Tobirama would do." Naruto mused out while his eyes were closed.
Shikamaru shrugged when Boruto gave him an incredulous look.
"Don't give me Boruto. I already distrusted Kawaki from the beginning and his rash actions when it comes to Naruto have proven he is a flight risk. Whose to say he wouldn't do it again if he was given a choice? However, if the Naruto I know forgave him then I could swallow my objections like I did before. That is what it means to be advisor to me means." Shikamaru stated flatly as Kawaki didn't look offended at his blunt statement.
Naruto took a minute with his eyes closed before he opened them showing his blue eyes were resolved.
"Alright I decided what happens to Kawaki. I have thought it over a lot and there really is only one course of action left at this point that makes sense to my heart." Naruto announced as everyone looked at Naruto with various looks of wariness and acceptance.
"…. Just say it…. I know a lot of people want me dead so if you going to kill me then don't beat around the bush." Kawaki told him angrily as Boruto and Himawari still refused to leave his side.
"… Kawaki adopted son of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga-Uzumaki…. You will release your adopted parents from the Daikokuten dimension. You WILL tell them what you did. You will beg on your hands and knees for their forgiveness and regardless of their forgiveness you will NEVER raise a hand towards Boruto ever again in your life. That is what I decreed as winner of this fight and the person who revealed your crimes." Naruto announced as everyone turned to him with wide eyes.
"That is all? You are okay with him walking free after he releases the Hokage and his wife?" Amado was the first to say his surprise at Naruto surprisingly lenient punishment for Kawaki.
Naruto looked at the relieved Boruto and Himawari with a small smile and nodded.
"Yeah, I think that is enough. I never wanted to kill Kawaki and seeing their resolve to save him despite what he did showed me that this was done with his own warped sense of justice rather then any real sense of malice." Naruto explained as Himawari beamed at him.
"I knew you were the best Papa!" Himawari claimed as she rushed at him throwing her arms around his waist burying her face in a tight hug which Naruto happily returned.
"Hehe. I guess I might be abit too kind like the other 'Naruto' but I feel in my heart this is the real choice. The choice that a Hokage who believes in people would do." Naruto admitted sheepishly although he looked pleased to see the daughter of his counterpart so happy.
Boruto had a big smile as he gently punched Kawaki on the shoulder.
"I guess that is that Bro. Don't waste this chance Kawaki." Boruto chided his shocked adopted brother.
"… Yeah, I guess I won't Bro." Kawaki replied still stunned to his core at this shocking twist of events.
"Tch. I personally find this distasteful but I guess I did make a promise that it would Naruto's 'justice' on what happened to Kawaki. I do owe him that so I will keep my word and not demand any more punishment for Kawaki after he releases Naruto and Hinata." Shikamaru admitted gruffly with an annoyed expression notably shared by the Elders, Konohamaru, Hanabi and Mitsuki.
"Hey Naruto! This is what you wanted from the very beginning right? To get to this point with Kawaki?" Kakashi asked Naruto who nodded slowly.
"Eh more or less. I wasn't exactly sure how everyone would react but I wasn't looking to kill Kawaki." Naruto as he rubbed Himawari's long dark blue hair with his fingers rather gently.
"You do know from our view the fact you used something like Amaterasu which is normally something that is unavoidable a kill shot right? You really gave off the feeling that you were going to roast Kawaki alive." Kakashi pointed out with a dry expression with Kawaki shuddering in fear.
Kawaki looked over at Naruto who gave a chuckle.
"Maybe it seemed that way but I can assure you I had everything under control. I just wanted to put the fear of death into Kawaki before the end of the fight. I would have deactivated Amaterasu once he was lightly burned even without Ada and Daemon jumping in at the last second." Naruto assured the group with a cheerful smile.
'He really has quite the sense of humour huh? He really had everything planned out from the beginning? Sheesh this guy was not worried at the slightest of Kawaki beating him in any circumstance?' Daemon thought with amusement realizing that even his intervention was at most a slight deviation in Naruto's plan.
Sarada and Boruto both shared a look of unamusment while Sumire giggled into her hand with a feminine smile. Kakashi had a patented eye smile while Shikamaru and Konohamaru just sighed. Despite herself Ada had a small smile while Ino gave a nervous chuckle. Mitsuki still looked rather grumpy but nodded his head along with Hanabi. Koji Kashin and Amando looked relieved at the events. Kawaki took several deep breathes of relief.
"Papa! That is mean! If you were going to forgive Kawaki-kun you should have said it upfront!" Himawari complained as she playfully batted on chest after stepping back a few steps.
Naruto laughed at his alternate self daughter chiding him before he grinned.
"That was pretty tame compared to what I think anyone else would do. How else would Kawaki learn without a stern hand once in awhile. Plus, he has pretty impressive regeneration abilities due to Amado's modifications so it wouldn't last unless I was getting serious which I wasn't." Naruto stated firmly before he grinned again.
"I would do the same if you were dating a boy and some brat actually thought they could get your first kiss or ask for your hand for marriage all willy nilly. They would need to prove themselves for a chance to be part of the family." Naruto added playfully as Himawari face turned scarlet.
"Papa! I am still too young to be thinking of things like that! Plus, if you hovered over me how would anyone get enough courage to think of dating me?" Himawari demanded with her face steaming.
Naruto just laughed along with the group with everyone imagining some boy running for the hills at the thought of trying to ask for Naruto's permission to date Himawari.
"Haha. I would say it would be a joke but I dunno I feel I would be a pretty overprotective father to any daughter I would have. It just feels like something I would do. Sorry Hima-chan but keep in mind that is your parent's role in the future." Naruto admitted with his eyes growing softer at the end.
"Papa…" Himawari whispered realizing once again that this Naruto wasn't really her father despite his rather fatherly traits.
"Naruto-sama…." Sumire whispered looking sadly at Naruto seemingly sensing the same realization as Himawari.
Everyone saw Naruto depressed look before he shook his head.
"I guess I got carried away abit. Now Kawaki I think it's time for you to keep your end of the deal and bring Naruto and Hinata back?" Naruto suggested looking expectantly at Kawaki who gulped.
"Tch…. I guess I don't have a choice…. Time for some harsh words." Kawaki mumbled as his left eye returned to its Kokugan state and his Kama was expanded across his arm and left side of his face.
