11/22/2656- Thrandis Nue Nomads Raid Major Settlement

"Today, a large force of nomadic resistance fighters on the pirate held world of Thrandis Nue attacked the city of Aldrass Bay. The port settlement on the coast was once the main logistical center for the planet's Union forces, and has recently been reused by the pirates for the same role. The attack first started with a traditional assault from land towards the city, however, as the pirate forces engaged the raiders in suburban centers and the city outskirts, a force using small boats attack the city from the ocean, striking both at the port facilities and at the military stockpiles taken over by the pirates, both damaging the economically vital infrastructure and looting an unknown quantity of war material. The all the effects of the raid are currently unknown, but communities across the local planetary region are expected to feel the strain for the next few months as the damaged port halts vital trade. The damage included the destruction of several large cranes that are not constructed on Thrandis Nue, leading to interstellar import for replacement being a necessity."
