Quinn had been sent on a secret mission, on the far side of Ixtal. The prince had personally put her on the track of a Noxian assassin. Though his identity remained unknown, Quinn had her idea on who it could be. Though she had never really seen him, she knew Talon by reputation and was acquainted to his modus operandi. Her mission was simple: find him, and learn why he had come here. What does Noxus seek? And if she could, kill him.

Here she was, painfully trying to make her way in the rainforest. Heavy droplets of rain were falling on her dark blue coat, and Valor had trouble following her. He flew above her in small circles, just above the high trees. He was not used to such harsh conditions. The air was thick with the menacing storm, and the eagle could feel the lightning threatening to strike.

Quinn was trying her best not to loose the assassin's trail. He was unlike any beast she had hunted. He left very few traces behind him, all she could find were a few footprints because of the muddy weather. He didn't have big feet, and his shoes did not leave deep traces. Quinn assumed he was a lightweight accustomed to travelling in this kind of conditions.

Quinn stopped, and squinted her eyes. Through a small opening between the branches, she saw a faint glimmer shine from afar. She silently whistled, and sent Valor forward in the sky to scout. The large bird flew away, immediately obeying her order. The sky was getting darker and heavier.

The agile woman slowly crept up to the place that had caught her eye. She hid behind the trunk of a gigantic tree. There he was. A few meters from her was the assassin. He was calmly sitted under a huge leaf, protecting himself from the rain. His hood was pulled over his face, and his cloak decorated with knives entirely covered him. What had shined from afar was the sharp blade attached to his right arm.

Thunder began to rumble in the sky. Quinn was suddenly overwhelmed with the desire to succeed her mission. She was scared she would get no information from the man. With a trembling hand, she slowly began to arm her crossbow. She aimed at the assassin, but it was so hard. Quinn thought she had to kill him. Right here, right now. It would only be a few seconds before he noticed her. It would be him, or her.

The man lifted his head. She saw the face under the hood: he had a face as sharp as his blade. He saw her. Quinn shot in panic, and missed.

The assassin sprung away as fast as a hawk and disappeared in the rainforest. Quinn's heart was racing. Now, he had the advantage on her. She whistled soundly.

"Valor, to me!"

But the giant eagle didn't have the time to come to rescue his friend. The loud echo of thunder made Quinn's whole body tremble. A heavy lightning bolt struck from the sky, and hit a nearby gigantic tree. Quinn was terrified, and began to run. Her agile and small body couldn't help her much in trying to escape the huge tree. With a final leap, she avoided the heavy trunk.

The ground was muddy and slippery. Quinn fell down a sharp and rocky slope. She grit her teeth, hoping her light armor would shield her from most of the damage. She held her crossbow tightly against her chest. Apart from Valor, it was the most precious thing to her. A sharp rock pierced through the cloth and teared at the skin at her left flank. Quinn grunted and finally stopped falling. Other parts of her body were bleeding from light wounds, like her thighs. But the most severe was under her left arm.

Quinn felt the blood pour on the muddy soil, and she coudn't move much. Her head was spinning, and she was beginning to see black dots. The rain was even more intense than before, and other lightning bolts lit the sky.

Quinn was dying. Alone, in the muddy rainforest. She could not hear Valor nor see him. Quinn truly hoped nothing had happened to him. The assassin should have slit her throat, it would have been quicker. So much blood...

Before her eyes closed out of exhaustion, Quinn faintly saw a dark silhouette. It was him.
