At the bottom of the world of Atmos, beneath the clouds and the mountains was the wastelands. A place of death and destruction. A place filled with volcanic matter. Raptor, Cyclonian, and various other Skimmers and Heli-Scooters were scattered across the land.
Hidden at a nearby cave sat a reptilian man, missing both a leg, half his tail, and had a nasty scar covering his eye. A picture of a Merb hung on the wall, or at least, what remained of the picture. There were multiple scorch marks and slashes on the photograph.
*FWOOM!* a molten rock incinerated the picture as Repton got up and took a look at the small pile of pictures of the one who had defeated him at his side.
Flying around in this world left quite a lot of pictures of various famous heroes occasionally floating down nearby his cave.
Repton placed a new picture of his rival on the wall as he prepared some molten rocks for some more target practice.
He grabbed a piece of fire scorpion meat, and took a large bite out of it.
It wasn't as good as the food he was accustomed to eating before his defeat, but it sufficed. Luckily, the scrapped skimmer pieces let him travel to the bottoms of most terras to collect food and water supplies. He took a long look at his makeshift leg prosthetic.
It had taken him months to get accustomed to the thing, but his drive for revenge and thirst for blood made him determined to master it. It was a faster recovery than most other times that anyone had a prosthetic, but most people didn't have the single thought of one person's death on their mind to motivate them.
Repton wanted nothing more than to end that miserable Merb's life with his bare claws. If any of his friends were to foolishly get in the way, then he would tear them apart too.
But without any real power or a working ride, he wasn't going anywhere.
At least, not yet…
A few days had passed before Repton woke up by a strange red light.
"Repton of Terra Bogaton…" it seemed to call to him, "You have great rage within you. Don the Red Lantern Ring, and join the army of one Odium to increase your power."
"What'sss in it for me?" The raptor hissed.
"You are in no position to bargain, but your bravado is noted." the lantern shoved Repton back against the wall, "Join his army, and you will be given power beyond your wildest imagination!"
"I am in no mood to be yet another tyrant'sss pet!" he snarled before moving towards what could be the equivalent to a door.
"Even if it means that you would get the power to defeat the one called Stork?"
Repton paused.
"I'm listening…"
A girl riding her skimmer was enjoying the wind in her violet hair.
Or at least, she was trying to enjoy it as much as she could. With the recent reports of what was going on in the other terras, everyone was constantly on guard.
*KRRT*
"This is Tritonn of the Neck Deeps calling for any and all backup."
The girl picked up her radio link, "This is Starling of the Interceptors. I'm on my way, where are you?"
"I be near the Skyside Shanty. Repton's here, and he's causing a lot of…" he trailed off, "Well… That be odd."
"What's going on?"
"Repton's engaged in a fight with two others. They seem odd."
"What squad are they with?"
"That's the thing." Tritonn answered, "They aren't wearing your standard Sky Knight uniforms…"
"Well, what rides are they using?" Starling asked.
"None."
"What? - That's not possible. Are you sure you haven't been eating that malt vinegar that the Shanty serves?"
"… No."
"You hesitated."
"No I didn't!"
"Yes you did!" Starling shot back, "Regardless, I'll be there in about ten minutes. Think you and your crew can keep Repton busy until then?"
"We'll try. Those strange new powers of his makes this difficult- *BOOM!* … And it seems that the two strangers are doing a better job anyways."
"Right. Starling out."
Several other fighters were escaping the battle. With Repton's newfound power, he was almost unstoppable. At least, with what power they had at their disposal anyways.
But with these new heroes that appeared out of what seemed to be nowhere, they felt as if they now stood a chance.
"I HavE nO QUarrEL WIth yoU!" Repton snarled at Goku and Superman, "i don'T NEed tO deAl wiTh yoU anyWAYs. ThIS Is NoNe oF YOur buSIneSS! "
"You hurt innocent people, you make it our business." Goku stated, "Civilians clear?" He asked Superman.
"Everyone's in a shelter of some sort." Superman replied, "Let's go!"
The Man of Steel charged forward for one of his signature punches.
Repton used his new Red Lantern Ring to create an energy barrier, and managed to stop a good majority of the attacks thrown by the Kryptonian.
"BRIng mE THe meRB, anD YOu caN LEavE WIthOUt anY TROublE- AuGh!" Repton was pushed back by the shattering of his barrier.
"OKay thEn, plAn B…" He muttered, grabbing a small crystal from his back.
Starling had managed to just barely make it, and she saw what Repton was planning. "LOOK OUT!"
The two looked towards the Sky Knight, and before they could react, Repton used the crystal on them.
"AUUGH!"
"GAAHH!
The two started to fall out of the sky, much to Starling's horror.
"IT's thEm oR Me, SkY KNIght." Repton snarled, "MAkE YOUr choIce."
Starling didn't even have to think twice.
*SPLASH!*
"Ahh!"
*SPLASH!*
"Woah!"
Goku and Superman were forcibly woken up by buckets of water.
"Okay, five questions. One: Who are you? Two: What are you doing here? Three: How are you able to fly without crystals or a ride? Four: How do you know Repton? Five: Who are you affiliated with?"
"Ugh…" Goku groaned, "I'm not feeling that great…"
"Hey 'not feeling that great.'" Superman answered, "I'm 'feeling like Doomsday punched me a thousand times in the face.' How are you?"
*SPLASH!*
*SPLASH!*
Both aliens started a coughing fit as they shook the water from their hair.
"I'm serious!" the woman raged, "Who are you?"
"Ugh," The one in orange groaned, "Well, my name's Goku. Son Goku. Superman, where are we?"
The Sky Knight turned her head to the one in the cape. The man pulled a strange device and pressed the screen a few times.
"World number designation 570RM-H4WK5. AKA: Atmos, world of a thousand mountaintop kingdoms-"
"A little less than that, actually. Cyclonis made sure of that." The woman grumbled.
"What's at the bottom of these kingdoms anyways?" Goku asked.
"I can answer that," The woman interrupted, "A lava-filled uninhabitable terrain that we call the Wastelands."
"I've always wondered something…" Goku mentioned, "If the term 'inhumane' means that it isn't humane, then shouldn't inhabitable mean that it isn't habitable?"
"English seriously confuses me. And english is my first language!" Superman replied, "Anyways, yeah, this… I'm sorry, I never got your name. What is it?"
"I'm Starling. Of the Interceptors." She replied, "Now, why are you even here, anyways?"
"In a moment. We gotta figure out where exactly we are." Goku replied.
"Well, Starling's right on that thing she said about the Wastelands. It's basically a lava pit."
"How do people get around? - I don't think they can fly like you and I can."
"Flying motorcycles."
"That is so cool."
"Not so much when you've been surrounded by them for most of your life." Starling shrugged.
"Whatever. I got run over by Lobo's a few times, so I might have biased experiences." Superman stretched, "What the heck did he hit us with?"
"Some kind of leecher crystal. Only it drains abilities rather than crystals." Starling explained, "Suzy Lu said that she saw him grow wings after using it on Sky Sharks, and reported that he also grew a bit of fur after using it on her squadron."
"Any idea of how much he gets?" Superman asked, clearly worried about the damage that Repton could cause with his and Goku's powers.
"It seems as if the abilities and traits are… simple versions." Starling stated.
"Okay, so he probably doesn't have our full powers then." Goku reasoned.
"And even if he did, he wouldn't have our training with them." Superman added, "At most, he should only really get the hang of our strength, speed, durability, and possibly flight."
"Is there anything else we should know?" Goku asked Starling.
"He started speaking in that weird voice when he showed up again. I'm not sure if that means anything. If we had the Storm Hawks here, they'd surely know a way to beat Repton. Even with his new abilities."
"Does he get the skills?"
"No, I don't think so." Starling replied, "I doubt it."
"Good." Superman said, remembering all the trouble that he had mastering his powers. Though, the only difference is that he was trying to make sure that he didn't hurt anyone. He had no idea how this Repton would act with his intense power.
"HAHAhahHAhAhAHA!" Repton was having a literal blast with Superman's heat vision. Tearing apart various terras, he was sending people into a panic.
"Teuis."
"WHaT IsSSs iT, ODiUm?" The new herald hissed.
"You have only delayed the two aliens. They are most certainly going to find you. And they will defeat you."
"THIssS CrySSStaL DRAinEd thEiR poWErsssS." Repton hissed back, "THeY ArE HelpLEsSs."
"You only drained their abilities." Odium shot back, "Their natural biology will replenish their powers. Defeat them while they are leecher can only last so long."
Repton growled. He knew that Odium was right. He might have the powers, but his opponents would soon have it back as well.
"Get to work, Teius." Odium ordered, "The aliens won't kill themselves."
"You feeling better?"
Superman slammed his fists together, "Feeling like a million percent. What about you?"
Goku smiled, "Repton might have gotten my powers, but I doubt that he's got the training to actually use it." He answered before turning to Starling, "What about you, You ready to fight?"
"Ready as I'll ever be." Starling answered, "Let's fly."
The trio took off in search of their shared enemy.
"Care to remind me about that ring that he has? - What's it powered by anyways?"
"That would be a Red Lantern Ring." Superman explained, "It was made by a being named Atrocitus after his family and section of the universe where I'm from was subjected to a massacre by a race of robots called the Manhunters."
"Manhunters?"
"Not like my friend, J'onn. Their original purpose was to protect the universe, and they were the Guardians of the Universe's first attempt at making galactic peacekeepers. Unfortunately, they got obsessed with hunting lifeforms instead of enforcing justice. Incidentally, other people think that they just went with the logic of since only 'living beings commit crimes, then living must also be a crime.'"
"I had my whole squadron killed by Repton…" Starling trailed off, "I can't imagine what losing your planet would be like."
"The worst part is that the Manhunters were malfunctioning when they attacked Atrocitus' home. He still blamed them for creating them and made the Red Lantern Ring as a means to counter their Green Lantern Rings. And unlike the Green Lanterns, which are powered by will, Red Rings are fueled by rage."
"Wait," Starling realized, "It sounds like that these rings are supposed to be used for righteous vengeance. The way Repton's using it, he seems to just want petty revenge."
"By the sounds of it, that Stork guy did defeat him." Goku noted, "'Righteous' is relative I guess. Not that it matters, Odium probably modified the ring so that it would be compatible with him."
"Odium… That's the guy who gave him that power?"
Goku and Superman nodded. "What about you? - Why do you fight?"
"I guess…" Starling trailed off, "When I started out, I was on a squadron with the rest of the Interceptors and we protected a small Terra. But then Repton came along and killed them. I was the only survivor. When the war was going on, I was trying to fight back for the Free Atmos. Nowadays, I just honor the fighters who managed to end it all."
"Well, they sound like great heroes." Superman said, "I hope to meet them one day."
"I hope that they'll come back." Starling said, "If we fail, then the Storm Hawks are our only hope."
"Well, here's hoping we'll be enough." Goku said.
*BOOM!*
"That must be Repton." Superman deduced.
"Then what are we waiting for? - We ought to stop him!" Goku rushed forward to attack.
"No, wait!"
It was too late. Goku had already shot off to engage in a firefight with Repton.
"Ugh, I hate it when he does that…" Superman grumbled, "Think you can get bystanders clear? - Starling?"
Starling was a little shaken up. "This damage… It's like…"
"Starling focus!" Superman called out.
"Sorry. I was…"
"It's alright. If you need, I can get the bystanders to safety if you need some time to collect yourself."
"No." Starling shook her head, "I can handle this. Keep Terra Atmosia safe!"
"You got it!" Superman called out, as he rushed to help Goku while Starling tried to get the bystanders to safety.
Starling landed. Goku had managed to force the fight much higher in the skies. She had a job to do.
"Starling! What's going on? Who was that man, and how is he fighting Repton?"
"No time to explain!" Starling replied, "We need to get everyone to safety. Where are the airships?"
"On their way, but we have a problem."
"What?"
"Repton blasted near the base of the kingdom. If we don't get any repairs there soon, Atmosia will fall."
Starling nodded, "Don't worry. Our new friends can help… Well, hopefully."
"'Hopefully'?"
"It's better than 'can't'!" Starling reasoned, "Now hang on, I have to call to him."
"But at this distance, there's no way he'll be able to hear you." The Sky Knight Councilman tried to reason.
"SUPERMAN! WE NEED YOUR HELP!"
"Do you really think that would work-" He was interrupted by a fairly powerful gust of wind.
"Sorry about that sir." The Man of Steel apologized, "What's the situation?"
"Atmosia is going to fall, and soon. Can you use your super strength to hold it up?"
"I can do one better." Superman smiled, "I can get some rocks and repair the damage done."
"Then do it. I'll try to get everyone to safety."
"You got it!"
Both Starling and Superman took off to do their respective jobs, leaving the councilman just standing there.
"Okay, I guess…"
"WItH bLOoD ANd ragE OF CRimsON ReD!" Repton screamed, "RIPpED FrOM A COrPSe sO FREshLY DEaD!"
Goku prepared a defensive stance. From the stories Superman told, this usually ended in one way: Pain.
"TOGEther wiTh OuR HEllISH HatE! WE'Ll buRn yoU ALl!" Repton prepared a blast of red energy…
"THaT iS YOuR FAtE!"
The blast managed to send Goku flying towards the upper atmosphere. And since this was already a world of mountains, the air was much more thin there than it was where they were originally were.
"NoW… WheRe Is SupERMan- AUgH!"
"Instant Transmission." Goku said as he prepared a few more Ki blasts, "Perfect for staying with an opponent who wants to get away."
Repton snarled, "YOu wiLL DIe bY My hanDS!"
"Like I haven't heard that from Freeza before." Goku rolled his eyes.
"GRRaaGgHhH!" Repton charged at Goku, using his red ring to push against his arm.
"Still alive!" Goku quipped, "Tell your boss that he's losing his touch- augh!" Goku was pushed away as Repton spat some corrosive blood at his face. Repton the quickly moved to the other side and drop kicked Goku towards the wastelands.
Superman was struggling to make sure that the structure was stable enough to make sure that the damage was as minimal as possible. Trying to find some nearby rocks to keep the terra from falling was hard enough without the occasional shockwave that came from Goku and Repton's fight. He managed to get enough rocks to make sure that the landmass wouldn't fall on its own, but now he needed something to keep it stable against more shockwaves.
"Where is it?"
*CRASH!*
"Ugh," Goku stood up from where he landed, "Hey Supes."
"Goku? - What's going on?"
"Repton's enhanced strength…" Goku stretched his back, "It's really something."
"Well, I'm having trouble with some of this stuff, wanna swap up?"
"You know structural support isn't my thing." Goku countered, "I can keep him busy for a while longer, but I'm probably going to need backup for this."
"Look at you, finally trying to stop evil with a team and all." Superman smirked, "Whatever happened to all that 'saiyan pride' stuff?"
"Not exactly the same when the other guy is also fighting dirty." Goku answered, "Now, if you'll excuse me… AAAAUUUGGGGHHHH!" Goku started powering up until he reached Super Saiyan Three.
"Been a while since I've seen that." Superman smiled, "I'll leave you to it then." He saluted.
Goku nodded as he took off.
"Now, I just need a few more tons to completely stabilize it…" Superman muttered as he flew off.
"Everyone! To the escape ships! Hurry!" Starling kept ushering in civilians to safety, considering the power that was being thrown around, she probably wasn't going to be much help in this situation.
"Ugh!" An elderly man tripped over, and hurt his knee a bit.
"Come on, I'll give you a hand." A different person said, offering her hand to help the old man up.
It was little moments like these that made Starling believe it was all worth it in the end. BEing a Sky Knight wasn't really about the glory, or the recognition. It was about inspiring every new generation to try to be heroes. Even in the little ways.
She looked on from her ride at the battle. Goku had just grown out his hair - she didn't question it at this point, and was still fighting Repton as best as he could.
No matter the odds, or how many times he got knocked down, Goku kept getting back up to fight. It was rather inspiring, really. And the way that Superman was doing his best to keep the terra from collapsing was also admirable.
Wherever they came from, they were most certainly awesome heroes deserving of all praise and recognition they got.
"AUGH!" Goku was knocked down through the terra, and it shook the whole place.
"Woah!" A person near the edge fell off, much to everyone's horror.
"I got them!" Starling shouted as she rode off the terra into a nosedive. Switching to the flight mode so that she'd have access to the propulsion system of her skimmer's flight mode, she started to push further.
She saw clouds passing by, as the wastelands became visible. She was getting closer…
"Almost…"

"Almost…"
Closer…!
She grabbed their hand and quickly got them on the back of her ride.
"Gotcha!" She was relieved to have gotten the other person to safety, "You okay?"
"Yeah…" The person she rescued was a bit in shock, "T-Thank you."
"No problem!" Starling saluted before dropping her passenger off back near the airships.
"That's about everyone!"
"Who's left?" Starling asked.
"Just you and me. Let's get out of here!" The other man said.
"You go ahead!" Starling called out, "I have to provide backup."
She grabbed her weapons as she noticed Goku using a strange blue aura to try to combat Repton.
"KAMEHAMEHA!" Goku's signature attack was blocked by Repton's shield, but it still managed to put some pretty good cracks in it and push him back. Sensing his partner, he flew upwards to allow for Superman to come in with his heat vision
"NOt gOOd EnoUGh!" Teuis declared as he reformed the shield into a cannon and fired.
Goku managed to deflect the blast upwards, "You were saying?"
"Give it up Repton. You can't win this fight." Superman declared.
Repton snarled as he took a look at Atmosia. It was repaired, and he wasn't going to bring it down unless he wanted to do double duty on both defending himself and attacking the terra.
Starling kept her distance. With the amount of power that was being thrown around, she knew that she probably wouldn't be able to land any good hits, but she needed to be ready in case Repton tried the enhanced leecher trick again.
"PErHapSsSs I caN'T… BUt i CAn GUaranTeE THaT YoU Won'T!" He unleashed his stolen heat vision upon some of the escaping airships.
"No! Stop! The people!"
Goku used Instant Transmission to quickly transport in the path of the attack before unleashing his attack.
"KAMEHAMEHA!"
Repton smirked as he added the extra power of his Red Ring to the blast that started to overwhelm Goku.
"AHGHGH…"
"I've got your back!" Superman came in and added his own heat vision to the blast.
"I might not contribute much…" Starling said as she flew in behind the two, "But I'd sooner be dust on the wind than say that I didn't help!" She started using her weapon to send multiple bursts of energy to the beam struggle.
Repton's ultra heat beam started to falter, but so did the heroes own energy reserves.
"My energy crystal's running low…"
"I can feel my solar energy being burned out… Goku, how's your energy?"
"I've got… one more trick… Find cover and recharge! This'll get intense."
"Right!"
"Take care of yourself!"
Superman and Starling peeled off. Not wanting to feel useless, Superman went to push the airships to a safe terra.
"KAIO KEN!"
Goku's aura started to gain a red glow to it, and his power skyrocketed, as his attack started to get more intense and powerful.
"Kaio what?"
"The 'Kaio Ken.'" Superman explained, "It's a technique taught to him by a person named King Kai. It amplifies Goku's strength, speed, and senses- As well as any other trait he uses in a fight."
"It's intense!" Starling gasped, "It feels like his power has gone up twofold- no, three- four…"
"TIMES TEN!" Goku's red aura became even larger as the power became even more intense.
"GRgHGh…" Teuis struggled to push back against the attack. Even with the combined power of the Red Lantern Ring and his stolen heat vision, the attack started to get harder and harder to fight back against.
"So you're just going to let this meager Saiyan ruin your chance at getting back at the Merb?"
Odium's words echoed in Repton's mind as his vision became red. His rage increased as he pushed back with an equal amount of force. In place of Goku was Stork, and Repton's rage seethed to a breaking point.
"GGRRAAAHHH!"
A flash of red light temporary blinded Goku as he recovered, he saw Repton disappear through a portal created by his power ring.
"Oh… That's… That's right! You better… Run…" Goku fell out of his Super Saiyan Blue form and started to fall to the ground.
"I got you." Superman said as he flew over and cradled Goku's body.
"Than… Thanks…" Goku muttered, "I'm gonna… sleep now…"
"With blood and rage of crimson red! Ripped from a corpse so freshly dead! Together with our hellish hate! We'll burn you all! That is your fate!"
Repton had no idea what happened. One moment, he was speaking in the 'Chaosspeak' as Odium called it, and now he was back to his normal way of speaking. Well, normal for him anyways.
"What… wasss that?"
"I do not know." Odium stated, "Your power seems to have increased. I would recommend defeating the aliens, and thinking about this development later."
"They will have to come to me." Repton replied, "I will have the home field advantage, and they will be helplessss."
"You best make sure that you defeat them." Odium warned, "I gave you that power, and I can easily take it away."
Repton narrowed his eyes.
"Very well…"
"So, may we ask you your names?" The elderman of Atmosia asked, "We wish to commend the heroes who save not only our lives, but our terra as well."
"I'm Superman. Champion of the Oppressed." Superman said between bites of his food.
"And my name is Son Goku. Champion of the… Twenty third Tenkaichi Budōkai…" Goku said as people were bringing him several cartfuls of food.
"Why bring that up?"
"Gu state it!"
"Swallow." Superman groaned. Goku did so.
"You started it!" Goku clarified, "You went on about how you were the champion of something, and I wanted to try it too!"
The Atmosians stared at them having the strange conversation. On top of their attire not being at all similar to theirs at all, the subjects they were talking about weird subjects.
"I really don't see the point in all this food though." Goku took another bite and swallowed, "Are you guys sure that you have enough to spare?"
"Awfully selfless of you to think about that. Are you sure you don't identify as a hero?"
"I care about people. I swear, you endanger the entire universe for a chance at a fight one time, and you never live it down."
"Try being me. I get beaten by Batman once, and suddenly, I'm not as all-powerful as I really should be."
"Imagine if I fought Batman. Like, nowadays." Goku joked, "I'm sure that his fans would go all 'Batman beat Superman, and you said that Superman beats Goku, so he should beat Goku.'"
"Sounded a bit like King Kai there."
"I've been told that I have a good impression of him."
"Okay, I think I've found some possible hiding spots that Repton might be hiding at." Starling announced as she walked in, "Also; where are you putting all that?"
"I've tried to find out before, never found out. I think he just turns all that food into Ki energy."
"Oh yeah, you told me about Ki." Starling muttered, "I'll tell the others later, should we get a plan put together?-"
"Actually, we already know where he is. We just needed to get our power back." Superman stated, "I used my super-hearing, and Goku found where he was hiding by using his Ki-Sensing abilities."
"We just need to get to him before he starts reeking havoc in the world." Goku said, "And given how much he hates us, it's pretty likely that he'd go out of his way to try to kill us before we can make him look like Cell."
"Cell?" An atmosian asked.
"A guy that Goku's kid vaporized." Superman shrugged off, "Wow. I'd never be that lax with that sort of stuff. I think I've been hanging around you too long."
"I mean, I think it goes both ways." Goku shrugged, "I've been taking better care to save people, and I'm not really in it for the fight that much anymore… Or maybe it's because these guys are like mini-bosses, and that Odium guy is the fight I want."
"I just want to stop him from tearing apart the dimensions." Superman said, "Or maybe it's that I also want to test myself. I'm not really familiar with fighting for the spirit of the fight a whole lot."
"Can you two not talk about the potential destruction of ours, and several other worlds like it's what you had for breakfast?" Starling sighed, I swear, it's like trying to understand the Storm Hawks' training regimen."
"Didn't you say that they did things like making faces or whatnot?"
"Yep."
"Well…" Goku got up and stretched, "I guess it's time to take care of Repton."
"They're here…"
Repton looked to the entrance of the cave. He was expecting Goku and Superman to show up. And he was ready. He felt his rage grow.
"Let them come." Repton muttered, "They won't get far." He powered up, readying for a battle.
"REPTON!" Goku's voice echoed into the cave, "We know you're in there! You can come out quietly and surrender, or we can do this the hard way! And personally, I'm kinda hoping that you'd choose the-"
*BZZRRT!*
Repton sent out a blast of energy from his Power Ring, cutting Goku off.
"Guess it's my lucky day." Goku muttered, "KAAAAA MEEEEE…"
Repton snorted, "You wouldn't want to do that, Saiyan. The blast would cause the terra to collapse, and then that will be on your conscience. After all, there are no Dragonballs here. No get out of jail free card. There will be consequences."
"HAAA MEEEEE…"
Repton faltered. 'Could he actually be willing to sacrifice the terra to defeat me?- that's not possible!'
*BZIP!*
Goku teleported in. He was in his Super Saiyan Blue form and there was a ball of glowing energy in his hands.
"Oh… BLAST IT ALL!-"
"HAAAAAAAA!"
Goku let the blast go full force as it forced Repton out of his hiding spot. Once he recovered from the blast, he looked around, and saw that he was surrounded.
There were several- almost all of the other squadrons there- Even the Murk Raiders. Superman was also there.
*BZIP!*
Goku just used his Instant Transmission to quickly rejoin Superman's side as he prepared a combat stance.
"We're going to give you one last chance here, Teuis. You can surrender now, or we find out what happens when the ever-raising number and infinity punch you really hard at the same time."
"Interesting thing about Odium's help…" Repton grinned, "It lets me summon these!" He gestured his hands as several portals opened up and out flew several thousand flying monstrous beings.
"Flying Xenomorphs?" Superman wondered, "This shouldn't take more than a second."
He used his heat vision to blast at them, destroying a vast majority of them, incinerating them to the point that their acid blood was also vaporized before anything had happened.
There were still about a hundred left, plenty for the other squadrons to take care of and get some good combat training on, but that still left one opponent for Superman and Goku.
"Shall I?"
"Oh no. By all means. You first." Goku offered.
"Better idea: Let's follow through on that threat I gave him earlier." Superman offered.
"Sounds like a plan." Goku replied, "KAIO KEN!"
Goku's blue aura once again gained a red glow to it, as he and Superman charged forward with all their might and delivered a blow so hard to Repton's hastily constructed shield which shattered.
"GRAH!" Repton spun around and tried to punch the two aliens with a fist construct.
Goku blocked the attack while Superman quickly sidestepped behind Repton and gave him a swift kick in the back.
Repton faltered, all he could do at this point was hold them off. And he didn't have the luxury of using hie enhanced leecher or trying to divide and conquer. He looked at the other squadrons, and saw that they were handling themselves against the flying Xenomorphs quite nicely. Whenever one was cornered, another would strike it from a distance. Some were riding on other rides, and others had made sure to pick up anyone who had to abandon their rides.
Even Starling had jumped from Xenomorph to Xenomorph, cutting the wings and sending them to burn in the wastelands before jumping back onto her Skimmer.
"Looks like you're the one who's going to burn, Repton." Superman declared, "And you're going to keep burning, all the way back to the wastelands. But there's one last thing we need to make sure that you don't hurt anyone else."
"And that'sss?" Repton prepared a defensive stance, ready for just about anything.
"To get rid of that ring of yours!" Superman answered, "GOKU, NOW!"
Goku shot several blasts of energy against Repton before using the dust clouds to his advantage and using it to sneak up on his opponent.
"I'll take this!" Goku slipped the Red Ring off of Repton and quickly flew off.
"WHAT?" Repton stared at the hand that now no longer held his Red Ring as the energy dissipated from his body and he started falling towards the Wastelands.
Superman and Goku turned back and saw that the Sky Knights were cleaning up the Xenomorphs, and smiled.
"Is he…?"
"No. He's not dead." Superman replied, "Either Odium modified the Ring so that it wouldn't kill him, or his power let Repton survive."
"I don't sense the dark energy anymore." Goku noted, "I guess it burned out keeping Repton alive."
"Well, he'll be facing a trial, and punished accordingly." Starling said as she was hovering nearby the two, "We finished up here. We can't thank you enough for your help, though."
"No need."
"I needed the workout anyways." Goku half-joked, "Saving people is just a bonus."
"Other way around for me, really." Superman shrugged.
"I don't think I'll ever get used to you not taking this seriously." Starling shook her head, "Then again, the Storm Hawks trained for a battle by playing keep away, and making intimidating faces, so what do I know?"
"Quite a lot, actually." Goku said, "I'd definitely say that you're a lot smarter than me when it comes to stuff like this."
"Is that really an accomplishment though?"
"Oh ha ha…" Goku mocked as Superman opened another portal to go to the next world, "I swear, you fail at basic math a few times, and you never hear the end of it…"
"Oh please. One of my biggest weaknesses could be described as the 'physical manifestation of homesickness.' It's hard to be taken seriously when people reduce your weakness to 'just a rock.'"
Starling rolled her eyes as the two went through the portal. Some things never changed. And sometimes… that was a good thing.
