The snap's echo finally stopped. It felt as if it had reverberated throughout the multiverse.
"What did you just do? HOW DID YOU DO THAT?"
The Gauntlet fell to the ground, and dissipated into dust that scattered in the wind.
"YOU INSOLENT LITTLE WRETCH! YOU'LL PAY FOR THAt- AUGH!"
*WANK!*
Thanoseid looked up and saw a sight that he thought that shouldn't have been possible:
Captain America's Mighty Shield.
"Now Thanoseid. You have an option. You can either take a beating now, or, since you're up against my shield, you can yield!"
"Why you…"
"Ha!" Flash darted in, confident as ever, "Now come on, Thanoseid. 'Why you' isn't what you say in this situation. You should say something more like 'I surrender' or something. You can't win now."
"I still have the Omega Sanction! Your friends are still trapped there!"
"I beg to differ!" A massive blast of cosmic energy hit Thanoseid and burned him out even more, "I said Alien X could control reality. Let's see how you do without your cheat codes."
"N-No… ImpossiblE!" Thanoseid snarled.
"*RROOOOAAARRR!*" Godzilla and Gamera emerged from the ocean and quickly descended from their jumps. They too had been hit by the beams earlier, and now they were seeking revenge.
"We could fuse up and take you on again…" Cloud snarked.
"… But I'm sure the Prince of All Saiyans is rather inclined to beat you down." Bayonetta finished.
"Oh by all means. Let's make him suffer." Vegeta invited, "The more, the merrier!"
Thanoseid was, simply put, in a bad situation. Depowered. Gauntlet-less. And surrounded by an army of fighters ready to make him pay for every transgression inflicted upon them, their loved ones, or both.
Obviously, he was defiant.
"FINE ThEN! I'LL TAkE YOU ALL ON!" He shouted.
"MIGHTY STORM!" Might Guy and All Might called out as their powerful blows struck Thanoseid and sent him into a storm of fire.
"Strong Strike!" Thanoseid found himself held by Twilight's magic as she slammed him down into the ground hard enough to crater it. As he struggled to get back up, he saw a giant bird spirit rushing at him at Mach 36.
*SLAM!*
The crater he was in was further enlarged.
Thanoseid got back up, and then looked at his knees. They were taking steady damage that his healing abilities were not keeping up with.
"TAKE THIS: Triple Finish!" He saw Red commanding the Kanto Starters to strike with their mightiest attacks, taking a massive amount of water being fired at him at a high pressure, a blast of pure solar energy, and multiple searing flames in the shape of the Japanese Kanji for 'Fire.'
He was badly singed, a bit waterlogged, and his punishment wasn't stopping there.
Batman had just plastered his explosives onto Captain America's shield and he noticed Black Panther jumping into the air.
"Vibranium Strike-Swing! Steve threw his shield to Black Panther, and Spider-Man caught him with his web-lines.
Thanoseid didn't need a massive intellect to know what Spider-Man's target was.
*BOOM!*
Attack after attack, from various combinations of even the villains, Thanoseid was on his last leg. Literally. Yang and Tifa's attack had been the impact needed to finally break it.
And to top it all off, he was already worn down from everything else that had happened.
"I told you not to be overconfident."
Thanoseid's eyes widened.
"No… Wait, master… Don't…"
"You have failed me, Thanoseid. I hereby revoke your power!"
Thanoseid was forcibly and painfully separated into Darkseid and Thanos, who were both looking even worse than their fused counterparts.
"What the-"
"Your freedom!"
The Black Mercies re-appeared on them, bringing them back to their visions of their desires.
"And whatever joy you found in those parasites."
Their visions quickly dissolved as they now were in sight of their worst nightmares.
"Begone."
The two were dissipated into a different dimension. One that was different than the one they were previously trapped in.
"Take warning, Heroes. Villains. And all those in-between: My name is Odium. Your allies, Son Goku and Superman have been foiling my plans from their introduction. Be warned: I will find my way to your world. And once I am there, the multiverse is mine. Make peace with what you have now, because there will only be suffering in your future!"
Deep within the dimension that Thanos and Darkseid were in, their worst nightmares had come true.
For Thanos, he was forced to watch as life blossomed on all the worlds that he had previously decimated. And his beloved Mistress Death was also bearing the child of one Wade Wilson. Life was spread throughout the universe, and he could not destroy a single bit of it. Even a mere fly that had come by his prison was always always just out of his reach. He could not kill it.
As for Darkseid, his tyranny had come to an end. And his presence was all but erased from every corner of the universe. Worse yet: The Life Equation was distributed throughout the universe, making the Anti-Life Equation useless. Freedom was spread throughout the universe and there was nothing that Darkseid could do to stop it.
"What was that about?"
"I don't know." Lex stated, "But while old habits might be hard to break, know this, heroes: Should the multiverse be threatened, we will be more than happy to lend a hand."
"We will?"
"Think about it, Carnage. If there's no multiverse, then what can you really kill?"
"Makes enough sense."
"Until then, it's back to business as usual." Lex stated as he and his team went back to their base.
"We'll be waiting." Captain America said, as the group of heroes behind him stood on. A determined look in their eyes.
Dude: I want to go on record and say that this fic isn't nearing any ending whatsoever. This is just to foreshadow more threats that might cause another team-up or something similar in the future.
Pinkie: Well, that's neat to know.
Wade: Yeah. I'd miss hanging out with you.
Dude: I know I don't mention it often, or at all for that matter, but I can't imagine life without you guys.
