Scattered are the denizens! In the great scope of Net City, there are many districts dedicated to the various forms of media consumption!

Without the presence of Ryu, Ken Masters, and Terry Bogard, the residents of the Fighting Game Community, or the FGC, are now at odds with the Smash community.

In hopes of stopping the conflict, local heroes Zuko of the Fire Nation and Shoto Todoroki, are sent to observe the negotiation tables, in hopes of keeping tensions low. Meanwhile! Wally West is hard at work, attempting to figure out why the Speed Force is not within the universe!

"If you observe the page on Wikipedia, you can see that it is clearly labeled as a Fighting Game. There is no reason to continue with this nonsense. This game is a Fighting Game, clear as day!" The representative with the Smash logo on their shirt declared.

"You cannot be serious! This is clearly a party game at best!" The other representative, wearing the letters 'FGC' on his shirt countered, "Multiple players, items, and platforms? Your precious super moves aren't even allowed in official tournaments, unlike with ours, where the super moves are always allowed."

"These talks are pointless. These idiots won't see what's right in front of them." The Smash representative grumbled.

"Good grief. How did these go beforehand?"

"According to the tapes… Actually, I never got a chance to review them before being forced here. Why aren't we helping the relief effort?" Shoto asked, "This is stupid."

"Because apparently, we have robots for that. Whatever that means."

"Dammit! Still not fast enough!"

The Stormtrooper from before, Roger, was busy helping the new arrivals get accustomed to their new living conditions. It was… Interesting, to say the least.

"Still can't go back in time?"

"No. It's like the Speed Force is in some different universe. There's still enough residual energy that I can maintain my speed, but I can't enter the Speed Force, and I can't time travel. None of my usual Speed Powers are working." Wally bemoaned.

"Hey, credit where it's due: You at least got a working building to act as a base."

"Hoo-Ray." Wally deadpanned, "I'm going to keep trying. I gotta hit something eventually, right?"

"Good luck. You'll need it."

Meanwhile, back at the FGC Convention…

"Now, guys. Let's all just calm down."

"I can't believe I'm the one saying it, but guys. There's no need to fight." Todoroki said, "We need to have cooler heads here."

"You really think that these idiots will listen to reason?- They're morons!"

"You're the ones who can't read a wikipedia article! I'd say that you're the morons!"

"Ugh… How do we solve this?"

"Wait. I have an idea!" Shoto said, "Let's make this a more… sanctioned fighting tournament. The two teams can fight each other in a more controlled environment. Maybe once they let off some steam, they'll be more open to reason and debate."

"I… That's actually a good idea."

"Yeah. A healthy means of letting off some steam in a way that allows everyone to do so in a safe and healthy environment."

"Uh, I'd rather not get physical." One of them said.

"Same here."

"You two were just willing to get at each other's throats a moment ago!" Zuko pointed out, "If we're not having a safe, sanctioned, and consensual fight, then what are we going to do?- Are sports an option?"

"No."

"Well obviously we can't do either of the games the two of you are defending. The other side would accuse bias."

"Okay, how about chess?- It's like your games. You gotta think ahead, and there's a lot of strategy involved."

"Eh, too slow." One of them quipped.

"We could make it speed chess then. How about that?"

"Well, what about some game that we could play?- Something that's competitive, but fun?"

"Like Mario Party?"

"Dude… Do you want us to still be friends after this?" The guy wearing the Street Fighter shirt asked.

"Fair point…"

"You know… I uh… Didn't want to mention it, but…" The person with the KoF shirt trailed off, "But I kinda got into King of Fighters because I played Smash when I was younger."

"Hmm… So maybe Smash Brothers then?"

"Eh, why not?- I probably wouldn't be a Street Fighter player if it weren't for that game."

"Same, but with Mortal Kombat."

"So… what?" Zuko asked, "Is Smash a gateway game for the fighting genre then?"

The members at the table all stopped and stared off into the distance.

"… Holy crap, the 'That's rough buddy' guy is right."

"Is that what I'm really known for?"

"You know what?- I think that this is a great compromise!" Shoto said before pulling Zuko in close, "Let's get out of here before they get at each other's' throats again."

"Okay, should we play with meter on or no meter?"

"Casual players, huh?"

"Face it, Joe. It takes more skill to play with items than without!"

"Bite me, Jack!"
