"Ugh, I'm not feeling too good…"
"Here." Ace offered his arm, "Eat my arm. It'll make you feel better."
"Thanks…" Natsu tried to get up to consume some of the fire off of Ace's arm only to collapse and- "*Bleeagh*"
… Lose what was remaining of his lunch from before.
"Tectonic plates. Who would've thought that that would set off your motion sickness?"
"Some sadistic writer who thinks that motion sickness is funny." Natsu moaned.
"Good grief. Hey, Carnage! Are you holding up okay?"
"Shut up." The Symbiote snarled back.
"Someone's grumpy." Ace chuckled, "Hey Natsu, do you think he'll eventually get used to the hunger, or do you think he'll start eating the animals on the planet?"
"Don't know. Don't care. Someone get me off this thing."
"If we do that, you'll be airborne. And then we'll be in the same situation as before." Ace pointed out, "Look: I'll go and scout ahead. Maybe I can find something to make sure that we can get something done?"
"Just hurry up. My stomach is killing me!"
"And that's one in the eye!"
"Hmph. Well, it's not dead yet. Maybe try something a little more powerful?" Green Arrow asked.
"Sorry. But not all of us were born into rich families." Hawkeye snarled, "Besides, we've only got so many arrows. We gotta save them just in case something bigger comes up. You don't see Amélie wasting her shots."
"Unlike you two, I have no need to waste my 'shots' on my opponents when my own skills are more than enough to get by."
A moment of silence passed until Hawkeye finally muttered "I can never read that woman."
"And what?- You can read emotionless killers?"
"I can read you."
"I swear, you have one gritty television series and then that's what you get known for."
"At least you aren't known for your posterior." Widowmaker grumbled.
"We got incoming." Hawkeye noted as he spotted a large bird-like monster diving down towards them.
"I hate this planet!"
"Dammit! How'd Harry get out of hunting duty?"
"He is gathering water."
"Definitely N'th Metal. My strength barely affects it at all, so it's definitely reinforced." Shazam said as he flew down.
"Damn, then that means our magic is cut off too."
"Oh what a shame." Esdeath said as she put an arm around Gray, "I guess we'll be all alone together-"
"Never gonna happen." Gray said as he jerked himself away from her, "Hey, Shazam, think you can keep that weirdo away from me?- I already have a blue-haired woman back in my own universe that's way better looking and better than Esdeath could ever be."
"WHY YOU-"
"Sure. No problem. Think you could make an ice version of the Mr. Tawny though? I kinda haven't seen him in a bit, and I'd like something to remember him by."
"Sure man." Gray replied, "I've been meaning to try out some better details on stuff."
"Are you ignoring me?"
"Well, if our magic isn't going to help us out here, we may as well try to find some shelter." Shazam suggested, "I'll circle the planet a few times. Maybe I'll find something useful like a cave."
"Maybe also look for some food for me and knockoff Juvia here too?"
"Knockoff-? Why you-"
"Yeah. You two try not to kill each other… Again… I'll be back in a flash!" Shazam flew off.
"So, now that we're alone, maybe we can-" Esdeath was cut off by a wall of ice manifesting between her and Gray, "You little!"
"Good grief… 'Back in a flash'?" Shazam muttered to himself, "Man, I must really miss Barry's puns."
"Well… At least we don't need oxygen…" Wonder Woman pointed out.
"We're in a forest where we can barely get around because it's so dense!- Literally dense! What are these things made of?- Adamantium?" Captain Marvel grumbled as she pushed over a metal tree.
"No. My sword has an easy time cutting through it. I'd guess Osmium." Wonder Woman helped, "Lazuli, have you found any signs of civilization from where you are?"
"Nothing yet, Double-W. But scanners are picking up a small pocket of an oxygen a few clicks east to your position." She replied over the radio.
"We're on it. Carol, can you try to look for some semblance of food or civilization?- That ship we found didn't exactly have a whole lot of supplies."
"On it. Rendezvous back at the ship in two hours?"
"Agreed."
"This is the thirtieth room we've tried. Let's face it: We're lost!"
"Good grief, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with knockoff Polnareff here. Maybe we should make camp and try again in the morning."
"While I don't appreciate being compared to that idiot friend of yours, some camp sounds nice." Weiss sighed, "At least the kitchen was fully stocked… Somehow."
"D-Do you think it might be… ghosts?"
"Luigi, ghosts don't exist."
Everyone stared at Weiss.
"What?"
"We lived in a base with a person who hunts them, a swordsman who fights them, a rich guy who is friends with one, and a person who is half ghost." Mitsuru pointed out, "At this point, claiming that they don't exist is a logical fallacy in and of itself."
"What I meant is that there's no reason for them to exist here." Weiss clarified, "Unless you want to make the argument that this planet-sized mansion is somehow haunted."
"Regardless, I agree with Jotaro." Mitsuru yawned, "We should get some rest. We won't be of any use to anybody if we don't rest."
"I'll take the first watch." Jotaro volunteered, "Last thing we need is for something to sneak up on us and take us by surprise."
"Good idea." Luigi said, "I can't count how many times that's happened to me and Mario… I hope he's alright…"
"Rather convenient that this planet is already in Doom's image! However, we cannot dwell on that! Goomba! Koopa! We must keep searching for a means to return home!"
The two minions saluted… as best they could before running off to find a means to help in their escape.
"Blast it… My magic and technology is not working properly. If he actually were here, I'd blame that infernal Richards for this setback." Doom sighed, "Perhaps… this is the work of someone, somehow more powerful than Doom?"
Snake dashed to a brush and motioned for Sam to follow him. As the two agents of stealth started to move in on their targets, they motioned for Wolverine and Scorpion to take to the trees to set up their ambush.
They had to play this right.
A chain shot out and dragged one of the beasts they were tracking, and Snake threw several knives into the second. The third appeared to panic for a brief moment before Wolverine sliced through its head and decapitated it.
Moments later, the same beast that Scorpion had attacked came back to them, sliced vertically in half.
Sam had just managed to slice the other monster's throat in that time.
The four nodded to each other. They had learned early on that these monsters relied more on sound than on sight, so loud noises or weapons were out of the question.
They had found a cave not too far from their current location. Dragging the bodies back, they finally had some time for peace.
"Hanzo, let's get to cooking."
"Right." The ninja sighed, "This would be far more relaxing in a proper kitchen."
"We all miss the base, Scorp." Wolverine muttered, "But we can't keep thinking about that. We gotta keep pushing. Maybe a rescue will come by soon. Who knows?"
"Well, here's hoping that it won't take too long…"
