With the main set of heroes gone, many civilians were without protection in the outer areas of Net City. With such conditions, many of them had condensed into the inner area looking for shelter.
Thankfully, resident chef Sanji of the Straw-Hat Pirates, was good at taking the scraps and strange spices and turning them into master meals of beauty and deliciousness.
Now, if only Barbara and Gwen could hurry back with the one thing he needed from the Film District.
"Why couldn't Flash do this!?" Gwen screamed as she was swinging past all the enemy flying Xenomorphs.
"He's busy locating the portal. We'd need some major firepower to cut down all these bugs though."
"Good grief!" Gwen cried as she landed on the back of Barbara's motorcycle to take a quick breath, "To think! We could use Beerus or Galaxia right about now!"
"Well, we don't!" Barbara shouted back, Now hurry up! Can't you web them up or something?"
"Oh sure! Let me just 'web them up'" Gwen snarked, "It's not like they have acid blood or anything like that. Aren't you supposed to be the smart one?"
"You're not making things easier, you know! Maybe fling them into each other?"
"Acid. Blood." Gwen reiterated, "If they're not hurt by it, what makes you think that move would be effective?"
"I didn't mean trying to fling it on them! Isn't this a typical tactic used by Spiders?"
"Ugh! I would so rather be playing poker right now." Gwen grumbled as she jumped back to re-engage the flying Xenomorphs.
Barbara kept swerving to get the package to base. Sanji said that this item was essential to the meal plan that he was planning. He said that it needed to get back quick, on account of them not having a cooler. How he knew about this was unknown, but if it was essential to them being able to get back to base and getting food on the table, then it was a good cause in her book.
"Fear not!" Rock Lee jumped from a rooftop and started steering a flying Xenomorph in an attempt to gain an aerial advantage over the other Xenomorphs, "Woah, oah woah! Okay, turn… No, not left! WOAH!"
"I think I'll keep fearing. Fear's a healthy emotion. It lets us know when we're in danger." Barbara quipped as she threw an explosive batarang to create a barrier to stop a group of the grounded versions from giving chase.
"Well, if the fall doesn't kill him, then the acid blood will." Gwen muttered, "Ugh, better save him so that he doesn't complain about waking up in Rez." She swung towards the young ninja to try to help him out.
"Gwen. I'm heading out of the film district. Keep in touch via the comms, okay? And try to keep Lee from killing himself."
"No promises." Gwen replied into the comms while she kept jumping from Xenomorph to Xenomorph to hopefully catch Lee before him flying into the atmosphere caused him to pass out.
The fight was rather arduous. Not in the sense that their opponents were particularly tough, but it was the sheer numbers. The fact that Lee had managed to make it out with only some minor burns from the acid blood was a miracle in itself.
"Sanji… We got that thing you wanted…" Barbara groaned, "Care to tell us what this is?- The guy's accent was thick. He called it 'rozen yoga' or something."
"'Rozen yoga'?" Zuko asked as he stepped out for some air, "Now that's a reference that takes me back."
"Wait… reference?"
"Yeah. So Sanji, what flavor is it?"
"Strawberry. I got a poll from the people, a majority said that they liked strawberry flavored frozen yogurt. The parfaits I can make with this!" He was excited.
"You're telling me that I nearly got my face melted off for FROZEN YOGURT!?" Lee was furious, "OF ALL THE THINGS! I thought that this was a rare spice that could make something as basic as beef jerky taste like a filet mignon!"
"I actually have a thing for that in my kitchen. It's called 'being a good chef.'" Sanji shot back, "Something that you clearly don't know how to get."
"Ugh, now I miss Alfred's cooking." Barbara quipped, "He made the best tea. If you gave me a choice between ambrosia and Alfred's tea, I'd take his tea any day of the week."
"Wait, is that why you said that you had better tea than the one that I made two days ago?" Lee asked.
"That sounds more like nostalgia talking." Zuko pointed out, "I'd likely say the same about my uncle's tea. It's just something that you've grown accustomed to, and was prepared by someone you cared about, and who cared about you."
"All I got from that is that the secret ingredient is love or something." Gwen snarked, "I'm taking a shower. I feel gross after all that fighting."
