"I'll say this much: It's a nice change of pace to see more than just two seasons."
"Do you want to explain?" McGruff asked.
"Nate's talking about how video games only really have two seasons: Winter and 'not Winter.'" Lara explained, "Now, hopefully we can get Smokey to the spring side of the planet and we can start getting him back on his feet."
"You'd think that a firefighting bear would be more used to heat…" Nate grunted, "And when do bears pass out from heat exhaustion?"
"It's best not to think about it." McGruff pointed out, "Considering that bullets mostly miss you rather than hit you."
"Oof, good point."
"I believe that the game was Pikmin." Shovel Knight said, "T'was an interesting game."
"I liked the second game." Scrooge said, "But I believe that there was a different game that had a similar premise."
"Hey guys! I found a reservoir!" Dig-dug said, "So at least we won't be dying of thirst anytime soon."
"Ah! Excellent! Perhaps we can now set up a base here!" Shovel Knight declared, "This will be a riveting tale to tell the others!"
"Assuming that we can find them again." Scrooge muttered.
"Hey, no reason to be a downer." Dig-Dug pointed out, "There's no reason to be pessimistic. If we had a ship and they were stranded out there, we'd one hundred percent go out looking for them."
"That's just it though." Scrooge pointed out, "How do we know that they aren't stranded also?"
"Likely." Dracula grumbled, "Let us hope that nobody else is in as bad of a situation as we are."
"This place… It feels… weird."
"I understand what you mean." Might Guy replied, "This planet… It does not seem like a natural planet."
"There's something… Off." Aang added, "I can airbend and firebend just fine. And we'd probably have to find a source of water before I can test out, if my waterbending works, but this ground isn't earth."
"EVERYONE! OVER HERE! I FOUND SOME WATER!" All Might called to his friends from a higher ground, "Now we're going to be okay!"
"Gotta admit, it's hard to stay pessimistic with All Might around." Roshi commented.
"Yeah…" Aang looked over the horizon. His Seismic Sense was telling him something but he didn't know what.
"I wish Zoro were around." Ramona muttered, "How are we supposed to navigate this Water World knockoff?
"You really want Zoro to be here for navigation?" Nightwing asked.
Afro was busy sharpening his sword and Jiraiya was otherwise formulating a plan and scouting the various islands ahead of them with his Toad Pact.
"Gotta admit, that was pretty stupid for you to say." Afro commented between movements of his whetstone.
"Okay, good news and bad news." Jiraiya said as he reemerged on the ship, "Good news is that that island up ahead has plenty of water and food for us to keep going until we get to the next island."
"I take it the bad news is that there's trouble ahead?" Nightwing pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Bingo. There's some kind of force field around where it's being kept, and beyond that, there's a massive fortress. Add in the crazy monsters I saw while I was sneaking around, and we'd need two teams to get past there."
"It's never easy, is it?" Ramona bemoaned.
"AND… FIGHT!"
"DK! Knucks! C'mon!" Scout gestured, "The sooner we fight our way to the top, the sooner we can get outta here and maybe get to the others!"
The two brawlers nodded as they made their way through the maze. With the walls made up of Adamantium, Neither Donkey Kong or Knuckles could bust through it to bypass any traps the three could come across.
Unfortunately, the three could only get by so much on brute strength. It was hard to say for certain if they could make it out at all. A lot of their enemies used dirty tricks, and it was hard to keep up.
Of course, once they were able to gett past the traps, it was easy to punch them to get the information they needed.
Whatever 'gamemaster' that was in charge of their situation wasn't too keen on letting them out though.
"Huhh…" Jack sighed, "Sol, you've been around far longer than I have. Tell me: Does the fighting ever get easier?"
"No. It really doesn't." Sol muttered, "I swear, I hate that these guys are forcing me to work."
"Deal with it." Jack grumbled, "It appears as if we have more coming."
"We just had to get stranded here with Nightmare and Buu, didn't we?" Sol grumbled, "And then those two idiots had to go and get caught. When I get my hands on them…"
"Save it. They're here!" Jack shouted as he pointed to the monsters that were closing in on them.
"Okay, the universal translator's working." Tails said, "Gamera, are you sure that the people of Undaqua are okay with us using their technology?"
"Indeed Tails." Gamera responded, "The people of Landrus, they are fine with working with them as well?"
"Yep. Apparently they've been wanting to strengthen relations with each other for a while. The bigger problem is the fact that the technology isn't that compatible."
"I just want to say: Good work on the volume part, Tails. I don't think I would've liked to have to have dealt with the loud noise."
"Thanks, Zechs. But it wasn't all me. Gamera here also helped with that part too."
"Right. Anyways, I'm going to try to find Godzilla. He crashed here with us, and well… The last thing we need is for everyone to start hating us because of the radiation he gives off."
"Good idea." Gamera replied, "Once the peace talks are over, we will assist you."
"Right. Good luck!"
"Just like Devilworld!" Doomguy hollered as he put several more bullets into a demon that was attacking him.
"Glad you're having fun!" Master Chief snarled as he stabbed another in the face with an energy sword, "Some of us are used to fighting other things!"
"Count yourself lucky…" Spawn snarled, "We have many enemies to get to. Perhaps we can find shelter for you, Doomguy, and Kratos."
"What about you? Do you have a plan of attack?"
"I have a plan…" Spawn summoned his extremely wide assortment of weapons, "ATTACK!"
"This takes me back to the 90s…" Rogue muttered.
"No… I think there was an old television show that had this premise." Zitz mentioned, "I forget what it was called."
"Well, at least it's not filled with zombies."
"Yeah. It's just filled with empty shops and Akuma rampaging the place!" Haggar replied, "Excellent observation, Zangief, care to make the situation worse?"
"No wait, he has a point. If there are no people here, but the shops are open, then… what happened?"
"I don't know…" Haggar replied, "There's no way that Akuma could be responsible though. There's not enough evidence for a fight like that… Even if it was a complete and utter defeat."
"Well… I hope the others are doing better than we are."
"Okay, so… Let me see if we understand this right." Samus surmised, "This is a school where you learn to fight and lead countries, and it doubles as a church. Do I have it right so far?"
"Uh… Yes."
"There are strange genetic mutations that you simply call 'ultragenes' that are supposedly granted to a select few by the deity that the locals of this world worship…" Sub-Zero continued, "And these 'ultragenes' grant the wielder superhuman abilities that assist them in battle, and are considered a rarity to the point that many of you assume that they are divine gifts, so you have a greater standing in society."
"Some of us try not to discriminate based on it, but… pretty much. Where are you going with this?"
"And finally, let's make sure that this is crystal clear, the three of you want to recruit us into your respective territories to hopefully aid you in any battles that may or may not come in the future, because the principal of this school is also the archbishop."
"Pretty much."
"This is the plot of Three Houses." Samus muttered, "This is basically the plot of Three Houses. Okay, which one of you is planning a coup to abolish the system, has an additional 'ultragene' and is also bisexual?"
"Uh… I'm bi, but that doesn't mean I'm planning a coup. That would be stupid… Ha ha…" The young woman laughed nervously.
"Yeah, you're coming with me. Hurry up, Edelgard. We got work to do to make sure you don't get killed." Samus grumbled as she started dragging the young woman with her to the school, "With our luck, we're probably going to end up as your professors."
"My name isn't Edelgard, it's-"
"Yeah yeah. Come on. I gotta get it through your assistant that I'm not a threat and that he shouldn't poison me with whatever poison he carries on hand at all times."
"How do you know about his poison?- I mean uh… Yes… Let's do that… Also, my name is-" she was cut off by Samus pulling her even harder.
"I will be taking the one who saw his friends and family get slaughtered in front of him and has a somewhat outdated sense of nobility and knighthood." Sub-Zero sighed.
"I'd appreciate it if you didn't make light of that tragedy, and what do you mean by 'outdated'?" The young man asked indignantly.
"Come now, young Dimitri. Let's make sure that you do not lose an eye."
"My name isn't- AH!" He was dragged off by Sub-Zero's superior strength.
"I guess that leaves you and me, Claude." Terry shrugged.
"… How'd you guess my name?"
"Let's just say that we've been through this before and leave it at that." Terry said.
