"Pass me that ration bar."
"Here you go, Silver."
"Thanks, Trunks." Silver replied.
It had been quite a few months since the two had gone out to try and map the universe they were in, and while they hadn't found a clue as to where the others were, they had made some incredible discoveries in regards to what they had found.
From the diner and strange store that Beerus and Galaxia had mentioned, to several other outposts, neighborhoods, theaters, and even amusement parks- It was hard to imagine what they hadn't found.
The two were on the roof of what could be described as an 'intergalactic motel' that welcomed them in with open arms. Possibly because they were the only customers at the time, but that didn't change the fact that they had gotten some warm shelter for a little while. After the many months of them traveling, with only the most sporadic of times returning to either help out with some relatively minor issue or to grab a few of the precious Senzu Beans that the Net City team could spare, the two decided to rest.
"It's kinda pretty, huh?"
Trunks looked to his friend, with an eyebrow raised.
"I kinda stayed on Mobius a lot, so I didn't get to travel space too much. But it's sorta cool, y'know? The stars?"
Trunks looked at the vast cosmos that surrounded them. In a way, it was overwhelming and vacant. A constant reminder that no matter how many other people they had found out in the space that surrounded them, that it was massive. It was distant. It was cold. And yet, it was also beautiful. It was also bright. And it was full of life.
"I guess so. No matter how far away everything is, relatively of course," He quickly corrected, "It's just really impressive that the world we live in can be this big."
"Yeah. And in that infinite possibilities, in all the universe, we get to exist at the same time as each other. It's kinda impressive."
"I see you've been picking up on a lot of prose from those books we got from that store." Trunks chuckled.
"Hey! Cut me some slack. There wasn't a whole lot of stuff to read in my dead future. What's your excuse?"
"Fair point." Trunks conceded, "It's kinda a bit of a weird situation though, right? Even if we do manage to find the others, the Trunks that my father knows is a lot different than me."
"Hey, you're still Trunks though. That's gotta count for something." Silver playfully punched Trunks' arm.
"But seriously. We both went through a lot of the same crazy stuff that the guys that know our 'usual' selves would know we went through." Silver pointed out, "And until we can figure out what the heck is going on with our time travel, we won't be able to fix it. That's sorta what we do. We fix things."
"Yeah. But I fix things by trying to get rid of something that wasn't supposed to be there. You fix things by trying to save your future. I wonder what my 'usual' self would think of me."
"I mean… Isn't he what you used to be before that Chronoa girl picked you up?"
"I guess so." Trunks said as he leaned back, "What about you? I know your future was messed up. Did you ever take the time to rest when you got to the past?"
"A few times. But I was definitely in my past a lot longer than you were in yours. And you got to spend a year training with your father."
"He was pretty rough about that, I'll admit."
"Huh… Gotta work on understanding sarcasm." Silver muttered, "But it's not like it's that different. Besides, it worked out, didn't it?"
"I guess so." Trunks said, "I'm getting tired. You want to turn in?"
"Yeah. I think that would be nice." Silver yawned.
The morning(?) afterwards, the two thanked the innkeep, and went on their way.
"Alright, Silver. Let's get going. It's a big universe out there. And we gotta bring back the guys who keep it safe."
"You got that right. But there's nobody else I'd rather be searching this place with than you. Fist bump?"
Trunks paused for a moment before he returned the gesture, "Alright. Let's keep the search going!"
Pinkie: So… What would you do with an emerald crown?
Alexis: … Chirp?
Pinkie: Yeah, I guess that makes sense.
