Chimney sighed in relief as he sunk into the couch - it had been a long day. "And the countdown to the girls waking us up at the crack of dawn is on," he deadpanned.
Maddie chuckled. "We have another long day ahead of us," she agreed. Jee was excited about Santa's visit while Joy woke them up several times a night anyway.
Neither of them ever thought they'd get this when they first met all those years ago. They had fought so hard for this life. Jee and Joy were worth every bit of pain and trauma.
And when the girls woke their parents up at five in the morning, Maddie and Chimney didn't complain (much) about it.
