"The taste is actually not that bad after a while."
"Really?"
"No. Not really." Terry admitted, "But I guess it's more that it's something that you get used to."
"Well, it was also cooked via Hadoken." Mai added, "Better than jet-boosters, I'll say that for sure."
"I resent that. My jets run on clean energy."
"They run on kryptonite, Luthor." Terry pointed out, "I'd hardly call that clean when you're using radiation to cook meat."
"Remind me, what is a microwave again?"
"You know what I mean."
"I'd appreciate it if you would let me eat in peace." Ryu snarled, "I miss Ken."
"From what I heard, you acted a lot like him because you missed his energy."
"It helps to have him to bounce off of, and to train alongside." Ryu explained, "I'm positive that Hasashi would be able to make this meat taste right out of a five-star kitchen."
"No arguments there." Mai said.
"I would have to admit that he is a rather talented chef." Lex admitted.
"Well, it's almost sundown." Ryu noted, "Terry, you're used to the nightshift, can you take the first watch?"
"A joke from Ryu? Wow. He must really miss Ken."
Terry hated to admit it, but being used to a nightshift had its perks. Even without the batsuit giving him enhanced vision, he was still good at seeing in the dark.
"Nothing. Still nothing. Gods, this is boring."
A bug-creature flew by, and then was immediately sliced in half by a Batarang
"Ugh…"
"Trouble sleeping?"
"Like you wouldn't believe." Mai replied, "How do you keep up with all of this anyways?"
"What do you mean by that?
"Ryu and Lex are always going to have stuff coming out for them, but what about us?"
"I'm sure you'll get something soon." Terry replied, "Bogard got into Smash, maybe your series will get something soon."
"I hope so." Mai looked at the night sky, "The stars sure are pretty."
"Yeah, I guess. Even from my home series with guys like Superman and Green Lantern, the universe is pretty big. Hard to say what's out there." Terry replied.
"I wonder if anything out there is going to visit us soon."
"Come on, don't jinx it." Terry joked.
"Point there. But come on." Mai pointed out, "Who's going to try to invade a planet of giant bugs?"
"Seriously. If you jinxed it, I'm never letting you live it down."
Mai rolled her eyes, "Terry, I highly doubt that I jinxed anything. This isn't some story. Me saying things won't happen won't magically manifest them into existence."
"You're talking about us though." Terry pointed out, "Things just go wrong for us in general. It's kinda how we ended up on this bug planet in the first place."
"Well, even if I did jinx us, which I highly doubt," Mai continued, "It's probably a lot more likely that it's going to come from below the ground rather than from space or something. I mean, who's going to invade a planet full of giant bugs?"
Several fleets of ships stood at attention just outside the orbit of the planet, the amphibian beings inside of it, all with capture devices, weapons, and an electronic list of creatures to capture.
"Alright, men! We're going to invade that planet of giant bugs!"
"YEAH!"
