"Guys, I lost contact with Eddie. I'm going to his last known location." Cloud called into his communicator before he increased the velocity on his vehicle.
He could only hope that he was doing the smart thing and was staying in place.
"I'm telling you: The best way to get out of here is to stay put and wait for rescue!"
"That's dumb, though!" Zoro argued, "We can't call them. How the hell are they supposed to find us?"
"By tracking our last known location!" Eddie argued, "Plus, how the hell are they supposed to find us if we're always moving around?"
"Uh, we find higher ground so it's easier for them to find us? Duh!" Zoro said as if it was obvious.
"And what happens if we can't get to higher ground?" Eddie snarled.
"Then we keep finding some place that would be obvious for us to get to!" Zoro growled back, "If you don't want to find a way out, then see ya later!"
"Zoro!" Eddie tried to get the swordsman to stay in place, only to throw his hands up and go after him, "This is a bad idea."
"You're following me, right?"
"It's smarter to stay in a group."
"But you're still following me." Zoro pointed out.
"Screw this. If you're so insistent on finding a way out, then I'm taking the lead here." Eddie said, "I still think it would be smarter to stay in one place though."
"I disagree. Besides, without your symbiot, you're really not in a position to be making that order."
"It's been who-knows-how long. Are people really still making fun of that pronunciation?"
"Who knows really?" Zoro shrugged, "Anyway, lead on."
"Well… At least we know how Eddie wound up falling in."
"That is a massive hole." Cloud noted, "It's like this planet's coming apart from the outside-in."
"Tony! Cloud!"
"What's up, Adora?" Tony asked.
"We've had the Death Star analyzing the planet. It stores energy in the uppermost layer, and then absorbs it into the core. That's why everything is dense!"
"The planet's artificial?" Cloud asked, "Then how are there plants and an atmosphere here?"
"Something organic must have gotten here and kickstarted life." Tony replied, "The surface is deteriorating, so I can get a more solid scan of the area. There's enough space for me and Cloud to fly around in there and search for Zoro and Eddie. Adora, you and Adam prep the medbay. Eddie mentioned that his Symbiote was running low on food, so they might need to be patched up later."
"Good luck, Tony."
"Thanks. Hopefully, we won't need it."
"There's more light." Eddie commented.
"Yeah, and these branches are getting harder and harder to push through." Zoro added.
"Think you can jump to the surface?" Eddie asked.
"I… Did not think about that. But there's no way I can carry you up there."
"Well, maybe we can make enough noise to get some attention." Eddie suggested, "Venom, think you got enough left in you for a scrap?"
Eddie was enveloped in the Symbiote, he wasn't as bulky as he usually was, and the tendrils were definitely not getting him back to the surface, but it was enough that the three knew that they could make one big boom.
"You ready for this?" Zoro asked.
"As we'll ever be." Venom replied as he braced for impact.
*BOOM!*
"Did you hear that?" Tony asked.
"I felt that." Cloud replied, "Zoro and Eddie must be in that direction though. Let's move!"
The two rocketed off to their destination, and their friends in a mad dash.
"Ugh… Venom? You there, man?"
"I can't feel Venom. I think that blast knocked him off."
"Shit! Well, find him!"
"I'm trying! But… Oh damn. The holes in the ceiling! They're closing up!"
"What?" Zoro looked up and saw that's exactly what was happening, he tried to get up only- "Augh! My leg! I think something broke!"
"Over here!"
The two looked up and saw quite the sight: Tony Stark and Cloud Strife. Flying in.
"A flying motorcycle? Well, you don't see that every day. HEY! OVER HERE!" Eddie waved.
"Eddie! Zoro! Glad to see you guys are in one piece." Cloud said before noticing Zoro's leg, "Well, mostly one piece."
"Is that supposed to be a joke?" Zoro asked.
"Right. Wasn't thinking." Cloud realized, "Anyways, let's get you out of here."
"Can't. Eddie here lost his Symbiote when we made that blast to get your attention."
"The ceiling's closing in fast. It must be some kind of defense system the planet has. We don't have time for this!" Tony said, "Cloud, you get Eddie and Zoro out of here. I'll find the symbiote."
"Tony! You know how hard it was to break through just the trees. If you get stuck, then how are you breaking through the crust?" Eddie argued.
"I'll figure it out! You guys just hurry up!"
"You heard the man, let's get out of here!" Cloud said as he grabbed the two and put them on top of his vehicle, "If I have the time, I'll come back for you."
"Less talk, more moving!" Tony ordered as he turned on his lights and sensors.
Cloud rocketed out of the enclosing part of the hole and managed to make it to the surface. He figured that the first step would be to get Eddie and Zoro to the Death Star for medical attention.
"Come on out Venom. We have food on the ship, we just need you to get there in one piece so you can enjoy it. We got dark chocolate, if it means anything."
Tony kept walking around until he stepped in something a bit gooey, he looked at it and breathed a sigh of relief. It was the Venom Symbiote. In (mostly) one piece, but the Klyntar definitely looked like they were going to break apart soon.
"Alright. Let's get you out of here." Tony looked up and saw that the crust was closing soon. He needed to be fast to get through it, "Jet repulsors, don't fail me now!"
Tony rocketed upwards, Symbiote in tow, if he did make it, it would be close.
"Just a little bit further…"
"Get Zoro's leg set and Eddie some actual food!" Could said, "I'm going back for Tony!"
"Hurry up!" Adora shouted, "We don't have much time until the planet closes up again!"
"No need to shout into the comms, Adora." Cloud quipped, "We just gotta- Oh no…" He looked on, and saw that the hole had just seconds until it closed, and Tony wasn't going to make it in time, "TONY!"
Tony saw Cloud and threw the Symbiote towards him, which Cloud caught and managed to keep safe, just as the crust closed.
"UNLO-" Tony was cut off by the crust closing, sealing him inside.
"Dammit!" Cloud snarled, "Tony's trapped in there…"
"WHAT?"
"Look, let's regroup at the ship. We can maybe find- WOAH!"
"UNIBEAM!" Tony shouted as a massive repulsor blast shot out from the crust, breaking it open just enough for him to crawl through.
"Tony!" Cloud said as he picked him up, "How'd you make it out?"
"Superior tech, and a whole lot of repairs to make to my suits. You got the little slimeball?"
"Right here." Cloud said, "Come on, let's get back to the ship. I think everyone's earned a little rest."
Pinkie: Do you think we'll ever get back together with the others?
Alexis: … Chirp tweet chirp…
Pinkie: … I'd prefer to have a bit more hope than that. But I'll admit that it's getting worn down…
Alexis: Chirp tweet chirp!
Pinkie: I'm not out of hope either. Let's keep navigating.
