"Hey Tony?"
"Yeah?"
"I just realized something." Cloud said.
"What is it?"
"We're still wandering the cosmos."
"Okay." Tony said, "and?"
"Well, it feels like we've been doing this for like… A year."
"It's been two days since we rescued Zoro and the others." Tony pointed out.
"I know, right?"
"Are you two talking about disparities in how time feels and how much time has actually passed again?"
"Pretty much, Shazam. What's up with you?"
"Not much. Just kinda hoping that things are alright back home, y'know?"
Tony sighed, "We're all hoping for that, Billy. But we can't spend all our time worrying. We have to keep ourselves sane while we're dealing with all this."
"Still feels a bit wrong though. Wanting to relax when we don't know if anything's okay back home."
"Hey, people are resilient. It's not like Unicron showed up or anything." Cloud pointed out.
"Eh, if he did, then Galactus shows up with him. And from what I remember from what Reed told me, Galactus isn't exactly a fan of entropy. And that's basically what Unicron is."
"Do you really think he wins?" Shazam asked.
"Oh hell yeah." Tony shrugged off, "Y'know the old meme. Ultimate Nullifier go brr."
"That's a meme?" Cloud asked.
"It may as well be." Tony said, "Besides, we're of no use to anyone if we make ourselves sick with worry and despair. It's fine to take a break every now and then as long as we remember that the reason we're taking a break is to remind ourselves of the world we want to see when this is all over."
"He has a point. We need the occasional Super Hero Squad Show to let us have fun." Cloud said, "Not everything needs to be The Dark Knight."
"Bit easier to tell that to other people than to actually do it yourself though." Shazam pointed out.
"Yeah. But that doesn't mean that we should, y'know, stop looking for the bright signs and stuff. We have the power to help people out, and that's really what matters in the end." Tony said, "Even if it's not in big ways or we can only do a few at a time."
"Well, at least that makes me feel a little less guilty about not being able to do much." Shazam said, as he started to sit down.
"Do you think that they've done Ruby Maka yet?" Cloud asked.
"Didn't they say that they were going to wait for the show to finish up before doing that?"
"No. They were told to wait for more than just a few seasons to do that." Cloud said.
"Didn't stop Yang."
"Stark, we both know that fight was bullshit." Cloud waved off, "'Sides, Tifa seems pretty happy being Yang's girlfriend and all, and I don't wanna ruin that."
"Yeah, would be pretty pointless to have a rematch for something that we all know isn't exactly accurate." Tony said, "General question of the curious, if there had to be a rematch, which one would you want to see?"
"Wouldn't be against Master Chief and Doomguy having a second go. That one being 2D made it… Eh." Cloud said.
"I could roll with Ben and Hal getting another round, if only to get those people who keep complaining about the matchup to shut up." Shazam grumbled.
"Seems like a waste to have those two go at it again just to have a better explanation." Cloud pointed out, "To be honest, I'm not exactly down for any rematch that's just there to correct something or to just get a better explanation for a result."
"I'm not up for it either." Rony said before pausing, "Weird tangent, but why does saying you're down for something mean the same thing as being up for something?"
"No clue, really. What about Vegeta having a runback against Shadow? Could be interesting, assuming Shadow or Vegeta got anything new."
"I get that, but I feel that people want Goku to have a go against Sonic more than see Vegeta again."
"You say that as if he had round two."
"He probably did, Tony. We've been gone a long time. For all we know, he did have a second go, or maybe even a third." Shazam said.
"Maybe it's not Vegeta who needs the runback, but Shadow." Cloud speculated.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that there was a lot of stuff behind the scenes for Shadow's go at Mewtwo. Some of it felt rushed at best, and half-assed at worst. Plus, Shadow undoubtedly got something new by this point, and with how popular the Pokémon franchise is, Mewtwo can likely say the same thing."
"Huh. Good point." Tony realized, "It hits a lot of good reasons for a rematch too. New stuff, an opportunity to make up for some lackluster decisions…"
"We'd even get a remake of that song that played for the fight, if not a brand-new track." Shazam pointed out, "Yeah, I'd be down for Shadow and Mewtwo to have a second go at things."
"It hits that right balance too. It's not really there to correct a result or anything, it's just there to give them their due." Cloud pointed out, "Honestly, if the hosts ever run out of ideas-"
"Doubtful." Tony interrupted.
"- Then this would be a rematch that I'd like to see happen. If only to see what they can really do."
Discord: Oh wow? We're back? For real? Well, as the hosts would say… IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!
