It was dark and cold, no light penetrated it. Until a loud groan echoed through the dark, followed by a shrieking sound of tortured metal...before the darkness was pierced by light and noise.
"...cause of an old XBD!?" A girl's voice carried into the former darkness that revealed a neglected corridor where the light touched.
"It was a mockery of Section 9!" An angry voice of a young girl growled out, said voice belonging to...Motoko Kusanagi who stalked into the neglected corridor with an oxygen mask on her face. Unwilling to let the stale air clear so that they could breathe easily, more concerned with the injustice she had witnessed.
"Oh boy..." Ichi grumbled as he walked in armed just in case of trouble, shining a flashlight around until he stumbled on something strange. "Hey guys!"
"What is it Ichi..." Hiromi asked as she turned her head only to stare at the strange sign, covered in dust and just said one word. Nerv...with a discarded E laying broken on the floor. "Why is it labeled Nerve?"
"SERIOUSLY!" Motoko exclaimed in anger and maybe dismay. Storming over to grab a dusty brown piece of cloth lying discarded on the dusty floor, before using it to wipe down the wall around the sign. Revealing that it actually said reception, before someone drove metal letters from some kind of sign into the wall. "Huh..?"
"Otto, Castor, and Potts?" Hiromi muttered as she stared at the sign above the reception that proclaimed that it was owned by OCP.
"Well that is actually...pretty ominous..." Malcolm stated before turning around and trying to leave, before Ich grabbed him and pulled him back by the back of his vest.
"You aren't leaving me in this car wreck alone!" Ichi hissed at Malcolm, who sighed before looking around at the dusty corridor.
"...You think maybe we should get some power for this place?" Motoko asked as she almost tripped over a twisted metal sign, that looked like where some of the metal letters came from.
"...Let me get in touch with some people..." Hiromi replied as she started calling the Nomad contacts she had made by way of Dakota.
"HOW IS THERE A HALF BUILT CITY IN THERE!?" Saul shouted as he looked at the video feed being sent to them from their explorations of this "Geofront Rip Off" as Motoko called it.
"Those look like less advanced Miltech Minotaur..." Hiromi muttered as she was watching the feed from her Chooms, and Motoko. "And those factory lines look pretty intact... I think I could get this place up and running, maybe start producing some products..."
Jun on the other hand, after tracking them down. Was looking at the strange borg they had brought back, the only identification they found for it called it Briareus. Probably to get his mind off the uniquely designed borgs that all looked like an older version of his sister, they seemed to be like a more advanced Gemini line.
In fact this place apparently went offline years after the Data Crash, likely protected by the fact it wasn't connected to anything. What it did have was research on stable nanomachines, designs for some kind of Borg Cop, and even an exosuit of some kind that you needed to be wearing very little to use.
So kind of perfect for Motoko except she muttered something about it not fitting the cosplay...
The only thing they found to explain what happened was apparently the actors for this XBD went Cyber Psycho, this SS 6-9 that upset Motoko so much. But then Sector 6 Section 9 was kind of lame with the Major who shared Motoko's name getting captured, tortured, and then her team coming in to avenge her death, and then drowning their sorrows with the Dolls that looked like her with different hair and eye colors...
Notes:
Yeah, this was me thinking about how Cyberpunk is depicted as a crap sack world, and Motoko stumbling on its version of Ghost in the Shell that was a very old XBD series that sent her off in outrage to find and burn down the place that desecrated it.
Only to find Cyberpunk OCP which was three heirs of shuttered companies banding their assets together to try and rise from the ashes and make money. Or at least become valuable enough to get bought out by a large Corporation.
Hence manpower from Appleseed like clone humans, Ghost in the Shell tech bodies with programmed in similar personalities, and experiments that were run someone ethically and in control... Because they didn't have the excess needed to waste their time and resources, only the real humans who they employed as security and such to go Cyber Psycho.
Or at least that is my take.
