A Broken Arrow

Felicity waited outside of the emergency room, anxiously. She wasn't worried about how they would explain Oliver's broken arm. He's rich, famous, with a lot of adrenaline hobbies, a broken arm isn't that strange. What worried her was what the doctors would tell him about his surgery and the aftermath.

As soon as the doctor stepped out, he smiled at her and put a hand on her shoulder. At least he was smiling.

She walked into the room, her body shaking a little. "Hey, handsome." She saw Oliver in bed, his arm in a sling and a huge smile on his face.

"There she is! My pretty lady!" He didn't sound like he was in pain. That was good at least. "They gave me… the good stuff. I haven't been this high in a long time. I can't even feel this arm." But he did feel it when he tried lifting it up.

"At least the surgery went well. What did the doctor say?" She sat beside him, her hand on his arm.

"Few months of rest." He sighed as he relaxed into the hospital bed.

"That's better than never using it again. You need rest, Ollie. Trust your team to do the work while you recover." She felt him trying to squeeze her hand. His fingers shook as he tried. Nerve damage maybe? Would it be permeant? If so, he might never be able to shoot an arrow again.

Oliver was silent for a moment. He chuckled as he was finally able to squeeze Felicity's hand. "A few months of peace and relaxation. Somehow, I don't think it'll go quite like that." It was never like that for a vigilante. Even if he wasn't one, he knew he would be in the public eye, he still had things he needed to work on outside of being Green Arrow. There was no way that life would let him have a break. "They told me it might leave a scar, so I might need to be more careful if I don't want people to make the connection between Green Arrow and Oliver Queen."

"Sounds like an excuse for a new costume. You know you're gonna look good no matter what you wear." She teased and leaned in to kiss his cheek.

This was far from the first time Oliver got hurt, but if was the first time needed surgery like this that would leave a lasting scar on a spot where it could easily be seen.

"Obviously I will." Humble as always. "Can I count on you to pamper me while I'm recovering?"

"Of course, I think you might get sick of how much attention I give you."

"Can you also wear a nurse outfit while you, do it?" Felicity smacked that smirk right off him by hitting his shoulder. "Felicity! Hey! A nurse is supposed to make the patient feel good, not worse! You're doing it wrong already!

"When the patient is being a pervert, I have every right to smack some sense into him. Besides, it gives me more excuses to kiss certain areas better." She wiggled her eyebrows at him, making Oliver grin. "Still think recovery is gonna suck?"

He couldn't not say it, "It's gonna suck so goo- ow!"
