A new journey
This is a fanfic of Pokemon were I use ideas of the anime/game/manga. It will
follow an original character and its story with a custom journey with changes to the
original story through Indigo.
I DON'T OWN Pokemon
1- Wake up to a new journey
I woke up on the morning feeling the sun come up, it has been a few years since I got
reincarnated on the pokemon, I was born in this world with the name of Harrison, I also was
born in Littleroot Town so I might have reborn on the winner of the Johto League or we might
not be in the pokemon anime. My looks are similar to him but different, I have brown eyes
like in my past life and like Harrison I have light brown hair instead of dark brown.
In this pokemon world, the pokedex registers your level as a pokemon trainer, your
owned pokemon, your ID, the pokemon habitat, ability and moves. Pokemon also doesn't
have a set amount of moves like 4 in game moves and if you have 8 badges in any region you
can carry more than 6 pokemon though most trainers have up to 9 pokemon owned for the
simple fact that pokemon that stay away from trainers usually grow lazy or disobedient.
Another thing that I learned researching is why type specialists exist. For a pokemon
to reach champion level it is required a mastery of battle and moves that are unreal, putting
in bluntly is much easier to be accomplished by mastering a single type. For a gym leader
to achieve this position it requires that his expertise and experience to be near elite 4 level
alongside heavy regulation to gyms, with the invention of TM a rise in popularity of mixed
type trainers emerge though no new elite 4 or gym leaders yet though it makes Leon, Cynthia
and Diantha even more impressive for reaching the highest peak of trainers before TM.
My new life has been interesting, my mother worked many jobs, she ultimately
ended up working on a pokemon farm that is set in Littleroot Town, she helps breed
pokemon including regional starters. My mother pokemon is a Gardevoir that she raised as
Ralts as her pokemon now she also owns a Chansey to help in the farm. My bio dad died
before I was born but I suspect of the way my mom said that he went to buy milk.
My mother 3 years later remarried to a guy that was a police officer that died
responding to a few rampant Tyranitar, I think it was five of them. The police never gave a
convincing explanation, pokemon poachers don't simply release Tyranitar on rampages.
They attacked the city killing and injuring people, he owned 3 pokemon but only his Gallade
survived the battle after deciding to use Teleport. Gallade teleported his trainer and the
pokemon to the pokemon center unfortunately his trainer died from the injuries 10 other
people died and several officers that had to rush to the scene got injured or lost pokemon.
His Gallade lives in the house specifically taking care of my sister that was born after his
trainer died.
My mother is named Sadie, and my sister Laura is three years younger than me.
Currently, I am 10 years old. On my seventh birthday I started to help Professor Birch and in
turn he gave money to our family.
His research of pokemon habitat led me to receive my starter earlier. I chose Treecko
after all he was my starter pokemon in the games, we get along fine. My mother also teached
me about pokeblocks and the different ways to prepare pokemon food. When I am not
learning I am taking care of my sister though Gardevoir insists on doing most of the work
and Gallade often stays on guard accompanied the family members and training Treecko to
protect me, I often prepare food to everyone when my mom is not around to Gardevoir
actually can cook so she rotates with me cooking.
Today I am going on a pokemon journey. I already have a regional starter and a
pokedex and my mom and I prepared my bag for travel with some needed items. Professor
Birch called me to the lab "good morning Harrison, I imagined that you're ready to leave but
I called to give you a proposal, you see Professor Oak wanted to work on a collaboration
research about pokemon habitat so the idea is to send a starting trainer to Kanto and from
Kanto to Hoenn for collaboration to help us exchange practical data I thought that you are
perfect for this since you helped with my research".
He said all of that frankly I didn't know, on one hand going through Kanto is cool, on
the other I want to travel to Hoenn as my home region so I decided talk to my mom before
deciding and secretly do a coin flip on it "Before giving an answer I will talk to my mom about
it, okay professor ?" He nodded and I left.
I reach my house and told my mom and sister, and the pokemon that were there as
well Gallade wanted me travel in Hoenn and Gardevoir as well, their known for being
protective of the ones they care about as a species, Chansey didn't give an opinion and my
sister didn't want me to leave the house regardless, my mom thought she said this for me "I
imagine that this something that you would struggle on, you basically already choose with
pokemon you will get where you should do it this will be good for your development as a
trainer". I was baffled my mom was never a trainer she became a breeder later on so where
is this coming from as to answer my own doubts she responded "your father was a trainer
and he once told me on how important his journey was, you want to set a path and follow
but I think you not preparing is going to give you more experience". My mother sounded like
a veteran all the sudden, she was a pokemon trainer and she just never told me.
Still, she was right, the point of the anime is to go explore and meet pokemon, like it
is in any first playthrough of a pokemon game I was treating like a nuzlocke or speedrun
planning encounters and moveset. "I suppose you are right to Kanto I go". Went back to
professor Birch and told my decision he gave a pokenav and I registered his number and
professor Oak, he gave me instructions "go to Slateport and take a ship to Kanto here is your
ticket" I returned home to say goodbye and leave.
Professor Birch teleported me to Slateport with his Gardevoir, I released my Treecko
and told them that we will be starting our journey in another region Treecko nodded, my
current pokemon moves are:
Treecko, male, ability Overgrown moves- Pound, Leafage, Bullet Seed and Quick
Attack
I got on board the ship; there I saw many types of people. Professor Birch gave me a
parcel to deliver to Professor Oak. He also told me to call the professor on arrival.
On the days on board, I discovered the preferred pokeblocks. After a two day's travel
we reached Vermillion City and I called Professor Oak's number, after a few seconds Oak
responded, "hello by the number I imagine this is Morrison right have you arrived in
Vermillion City?" "Yes, I just left the ship professor, I imagined that professor Birch told you
my number yes?" "Yes, my boy, to meet me go to the pokemon center my Alakazam will
Teleport you here let's continue our talk in-person".
I went to the front of the pokemon center and saw an Alakazam already there. I
presented myself to him and he replied "Alakazam" and teleported us to the middle of the
lab. There professor Oak was waiting and Gary or Blue and a girl this could be Green or Leaf
the name varies from media, "Nice timing boy I was waiting for your arrival" said Professor
Oak "thank you professor here is your package".
I took out the parcel from the bag and gave to him, he put on the table and said "we'll
since you arrived on time, Gary and Leaf choose their pokemon why don't you take one as
well" he told me, Gary left saying nothing except that he is the best and Leaf just sighed and
said "the name is Leaf a pleasure to meet you you're not from around here are you ?" "No I
am from Hoenn, name is Morrison a pleasure I came here because professor Birch wanted
me to bring something to professor Oak and help on research while I journey", "Indeed, I
was going to talk to Gary about it but he left so I am going to offer to you Leaf, the project is
for the Dexnav, a device to analyze and collect data about the environment and the
pokemon in it, there are three of them and the idea is to help by traveling to several regions
for it, we will help with monetary and travel arrangements as well, I think I going to offer later
to either Gary or Ash".
When Oak told all of this it confirmed one that this is likely a version of the world of
the pokemon anime and second that I have a reason to explore the world well in any way
this interesting though I decided to ask, "professor why did you offer me the last starter
since another trainer is starting today?" He looked at me and said "simply, I was already
planning to give you a pokemon from the very beginning as a thanks for participating from
the very beginning" I nodded so be it I get Game Freak favorite child Charizard, on the
pokedex showed me Charmander log and current moves:
Charmander, male, ability Blaze, moves- Scratch, Growl, Ember, Smokescreen
"Hello, Charmander, my name is Harrison, and I am on a pokemon journey. Do you
want to go with me?" "Charmander" cried happily and jumped around. Leaf wondered for a
second and said "can I give the answer another day? And Oak said "Sure".
I left alongside Leaf and she have some people there to cheer her on through Gary
was a little too much when the guy had a cheerleader squad as well I found a path through
this confusion and I saw Ash in pajamas and so I left going forward Leaf talked a little bit to
Ash and came running in my direction and she said "hey, let's go together for a little bit" I
answered simply "sure" we left for Viridian City.
