Thanos gets impaled by Thor's new weapon, Stormbreaker, after retrieving the last of the infinity stones. Thor flew down and marched his way over to Thanos before grabbing him by the ear, pushing the axe further into his chest.
"I told you...you would die for that." Thor reminded the Mad Titan as he kept pushing the axe into his chest.
Thor wanted to revel in this moment after everything that he had done to himself and his people.
"You...you should've gone for the head," Thanos says as he raises his fingers and...
"NO!" Thor cried in terror.
SNAP!
They lost.
They fought as best as they could, but Thanos won.
Thanos collected all six Infinity Stones and snapped his fingers. Killing half of all life in the universe.
That included a handful of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
But what happened to them after they were snapped?
INSIDE THE SOUL STONE:
Peter Parker gasped awake, and he looked around to wonder where he was. The last thing that he remembered was that he was holding onto Tony Stark on Titan after feeling himself start to turn to dust.
"Where am I?" Peter asked as he stood up and looked down and saw how the entire world was orange, with the floor looking like it was made of water. "Is this...heaven?"
"Not exactly." Someone said, getting Peter scared as he jumped and looked to see Dr. Strange standing behind him. "Sorry."
"Strange?!" Peter asked as he started to calm down. "What happened?"
"Thanos won." Strange was sorry to say. "This...this is the Soul Stone."
"We're inside the Infinity Stone?" Peter was shocked to hear this and started to look around. "Is it just us?"
"Nope." A third figure said, getting the two to jump and see Bucky Barnes, the ex-Winter Soldier, getting off of the ground and picking up his rifle. "I'm here, too."
"Sergent Barnes." Stephen greeted him. "Seems you were also one of the misfortunate people who died like us."
"You could say that again," Bucky commented as he walked towards them and looked around. "So... what do we do now?"
"There's nothing we can do." Strange was sorry to tell the war veteran. "Thanos won."
"What the hell did I miss?" Hope Van Dyne asked as she looked around. "What happened?"
"Ms. Van Dyne. I apologize to inform you of this, but you're dead." Strange was as subtle as a brick with that.
"Wow. You're as comforting as a porcupine." Bucky commented on Strange's comforting skills.
That's when they looked and saw all of the dusted Avengers who didn't survive start to appear around them. Just as how they were dusted in the real world, that's how they appeared inside the Soul Stone. Even coming back through the same dust transformation that they were killed in, just in reverse to form them.
Drax, Mantis, and Quill showed up just a few feet from everyone, most of them standing near one another. King T'Challa was bent down with his hand stretched out as if he was holding it out for someone to take. Sam Wilson was laying on the floor and groaned in pain as he got back up. Shuri also came in, her gauntlets raised as she was aiming at attackers when she was snapped.
"What the hell?" Sam asked as he raised his goggles.
Wanda Maximoff was laying on the ground, still crying about the loss of her one true love.
"Where are we?" T'Challa asks.
"Oy vey, I'm getting sick of explaining this." Strange sighed as he rubbed his head. "Thanos won. We died. We have now been transported inside the Soul Stone."
"We...we're dead?" Sam asked as he looked over himself. "Then...but..." He then started to hyperventilate and look around. "We need to get out of here."
"There is no way out." Strange informed him and sighed. "The only hope is that Scott Lang will-"
"You mean him?" Bucky gestured to someone behind Strange.
Stephen quickly turned around and looked back to see that Scott Lang, the Ant-Man himself, was indeed one of the many people that died. He looked around in confusion and was wondering what was going on as he was the last to dust.
"Uh...hi?" Scott greeted everyone. "What happened?"
"Where the hell were you, Tic-Tak?" Sam asks the man.
"Well, I was on...house arrest." Scott recapped what was going on with him. "Then there was this small moment with Hope and her parents, and then I was never called about the alien invasion."
"To be fair, it all did go down in like the span of one day," Sam commented.
"Well, that's it. We're doomed." Strange commented, knowing that out of all the timelines, without Scott trapped, they're doomed.
"You give up too easily, Dr. Strange." A new voice called out to them all.
A giant gust of wind came, blowing the heroes back a few. Then they saw a woman appear on a throne that looked like it was made of webbing and looked down at them. She had a red trench coat and red-tinted glasses, giving the impression to the Avengers that she was blind.
"You know what they say: one door opens and another closes." She reminded the Sorcerer Supreme.
"And who is this?" Bucky questioned as he pointed to her.
"Come on, how many people are gonna show up?" Quill asks as he looked around the area.
"Who are you?" Peter asks her.
"My name is irrelevant. But across all of time and space, I am known as Madame Web." She introduces herself to the heroes. "I am the one who rescued you and pulled you from your demise in your last moments."
"Why would you do that?" Shuri wonders.
"Because I saw what fate awaited you all, and I saw that all of you deserved a second chance at life." Madame Web explains to them.
"Then send us back," Sam demanded her.
"I'm sorry, Sam Wilson, but I can't. I cannot tamper with the multiverse where the Infinity Stones are involved." Madame Web was sorry to say to the heroes. She knew how hard they fought to the (literal) death. This is why she pulled them out of the last moments. She knew this would be the one timeline that they would lose and never return from. "But... it is possible that I could send you somewhere else."
"Where?" Quill asks her.
"The multiverse." Madame Web explains and shows them the million other worlds out there. "I can send you all to the same universe, allow you to live your lives, somewhere that needs...heroes."
"So, you saved us, and are willing to let us go somewhere that not only needs us but where we can live our lives?" Scott questioned the cosmic being. "No strings attached? It feels like there's a string attached."
"There is a small...problem." Madame Web admitted.
"I knew it." Scott declared as he slopped his hands down and walked away.
"I'm...not sure where on the universe you'll end up. I will have just enough energy and power to rip the fabric of reality to send you all without destroying everything else in the process." Madame Web explained how it'll work for them when they travel. "But your powers and skills could be useful to help this universe in peril."
Wanda still cried and stayed in place while the rest of the Avengers looked around and saw they all had the same decision. Besides, their other option would be to hang out in this orange area.
Going to another universe seems like the preferred option.
"Where is this universe?" Peter asks him.
Madame Web smiled and raised his hand to snap her fingers. "You'll find out when you get there."
And with that, she snapped his fingers and all of the Avengers vanished from her sight and were sent to the new universe.
"Good luck, Avengers. The Rebels will need your help." Madame Web said ominously.
(A/N) Groot survived in this world and Scott took his place. In case you're wondering where he is.
