A/N: Hello! Long time no see. Please read this before proceeding! :)

So... I haven't posted anything in like 5 months for many a reason, but I have been playing with this rewrite/revamp since the pandemic hit and I have decided to stop tossing and turning and just post it.

If you are familiar with A Collage of Broken Hearts, then this will be familiar to you in the sense that it's the same story, but not. I have changed some things about it (including timelines/character names/character relationships), the writing style/narration style is decisively different, but at its heart it's the same story.

This story's narration is inspired by dark academia vibes books such as the secret history by donna tart. The story itself is, much like it was before, inspired by Gossip Girl and Taylor Swift discography-as such, it may not be everyone's cup of tea. The characters are very very deeply flawed (including our MC Meredith) and there will be instances of immature cruelty given that I went to a private school in my formative years as well as teenage years and I can confirm these teens are devils, especially at the ages of 15-17. This is a flawed base to give my characters room to grow.

While this story does take place in the HP universe (obviously) I have taken creative liberty with a lot of aspects, so anything that you do not recognise just assume it falls into the AU category.

All I ask is that you give this story a chance, before telling me that it sucks.

All The Threads of Fate will be split into 3 Acts, spanning the marauders 6th year at Hogwarts. Their 7th years + the war will be posted in another story which will likely also have a 3-act arc.

THIS STORY IS RATED M (MATURE) FOR ANXIETY/DEPRESION, SUBSTANCE ABUSE, EMOTIONAL MANIPULATION, AGE-GAP IN AN ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIP, STRONG LANGUAGE, DETAILED INJURY DESCRIPTION, BLOOD, DEATH (mentioned), DEATH (on page), VIOLENCE, SEXUAL THEMES.

ALL THE THREADS OF FATE.

Meredith Potter-Greengrass has led a life of extravagance and opulence since she knew how to crawl. Aristocracy is a mask she wears well. High society brunches out in the manicured garden hiding the rotting wallpaper within closed doors. A pretty smile and expensive dresses to cover the cracks spider-webbing across her mind. Life is a practiced balancing act between school politics and Wizarding society. This is a game of chess she's managed to win even when she's lost.

Meredith is Princess of her own world, but the harshest war the Wizarding World has ever seen is about to reach its peak, and Meredith is careening towards the centre without even meaning to. Friends lie, love is a hanging sword, and ancient secrets come to light as Meredith and her friends enter their Sixth Year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

But this year not all will make it out alive.

Marauder's Era, AU.

Maybe in this season, drunk and sentimental, I'm willing to admit a part of me, crazed and kamikaze, ripe for anarchy, loves still."
—Sandra Cisneros. One last poem for Richard.

"I thought of myself as a big wound.
A girl made of scar tissue and rage."

Why are you full of rage? Because you are full of grief."
