When violent monsters descend onto the world to destroy humanity, a reluctant teenager must fight back using giant machines that seem to have minds of their own. You know this story, but what if someone told you that this was set in a different world? With different people? A parallel world so different that it mirrors the events of the original series.

1. Prologue

In the year 1999, a shooting star fell from the sky and landed in The middle of the Antarctic, causing a cataclysmic event known as the "Second impact". Earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis, and nuclear warfare rose across the world, ravaging nations and killing millions. By 2001, the Valentine Treaty is signed by members of the United Nations, giving full military authority to its security council, and ending all wars between nations. Peace was restored in the aftermath...

However, a new threat was unleashed onto the world. Strange creatures started to appear out of nowhere, ravaging cities and disappearing without a trace. It was later revealed that their appearance wasn't a coincidence, but a prediction from our ancient past. Scientists, archeologists, and theologists discovered a prophecy, written in the ancient scrolls hidden within the Dead Sea. The prophecy talked about 28 demonic beings known as "The Fallen Angels" who would unleash the apocalypse as the morning star came fell from the heavens. They were said to have eaten from the fruit of knowledge, getting thrown out of the heavens as punishment. With each part of the prophecy coming true, the United Nations funded NERV, an organization dedicated to preventing the apocalypse. To defeat the demonic monsters, they created a series of cyborg giants, armed with the best weaponry and piloted by the best soldiers in the world. The ultimate combat system in existence...The Evangelion.
