Chapter 522 Thief Gathering

Undyne returned to the film set and was very surprised at the sight of the dead form of Pagurus. She met up with Huntress Wizard who filled her in on what happened and about the Squeaks escaping in all the confusion. Undyne was glad that everyone was ok and she made a mental note to herself to keep an eye out for the Squeaks, so she could arrest them.
Gideon had been given some red food and managed to regain his strength and was very curious about the power he had unlocked during the battle with Pagurus. He went over to a puddle of blood spilled by Pagurus and went to see if he could do anything with it. Gideon reached out with his hand and tried to mentally command the blood to rise up, but nothing happened. He then decided to put his fingers in the blood puddle and concerted, but still nothing happened. Gideon thought back to when he had first used his powers and the emotions he felt at that moment. He had been desperate to protect both himself and Mabel at that moment. Gideon focused on the urge and desire to protect Mabel and himself and with those emotions he got the blood puddle to bubble a bit and then it began to emerge, rise, and shape itself into a jagged looking spear. The vampire admired his work and then he let go of the blood spear and stopped focusing on it. The blood spear turned from a solid to a liquid. Gideon reached a hand out to the puddle and focused again with his mind. The blood began to merge, rise, and shape itself back into a spear, though it did take a bit more time to do it, then when Gideon had made physical contact with the blood. Gideon made a mental note of this and decided he needed to experiment and practice some more to help him figure out and get a handle of this new magic power. It would work nicely with his gravity magic and if he could figure out how to control the blood in other beings, he would truly be unstoppable.
Undyne filled the group in on the battle at the Flooded Fortress and then Mabel who was in a water filled wagon showed Undyne the little pin she, Rain, Locke, and Firth had found at the Coral Mine. The captain of the Royal Guard took the pin and studied it. Undyne had seen the pin somewhere before, but she had to consult her files at home to check. The group of heroes decided they needed to head back to Undyne's home and rest. They said their goodbyes to Morty and the film crew and left the scene.
Elsewhere aboard the X-Ship, the Elite X-Nauts and the X-Naut soldiers had received a call from Grodus that some special reinforcements from the Smithy Gang had been sent out along with one of Fawful's creations to assist them in raiding Valefar's vault. The ship was currently docked near shore awaiting the arrival of the special reinforcements.
"I see them!" Said a X-Naut who had some binoculars.
The crew got to attention as three elite members of the Smithy Gang came aboard the ship with a robot created by Fawful.
The first Smithy Gang member was called Claymorton. He was a small red imp robot with horns, white gloves, green shoes, and a red cape riding a strange cross between a knife and a pogo stick. The knife had a red spring between the sword and the handle, the handle had yellow eyes, and grey handlebars.
The second Smithy Gang member was Bowyer. He resembled a giant bow with legs and blue eyes. Bowyer had spiky red hair, wore white gloves and shoes, and had a red and yellow body.
The last Smithy Gang member was Speardovich. He was a large and slender spear monster. Speardovich had shiny silver plates as well as a rounded hollow base that served as his midsection. He had a dark scarlet cloak with horn-shaped pauldrons, as well as matching gloves and boots. Speardovich had yellow eyes, a razor sharp spear tip crowning his forehead, a long neatly groomed handlebar mustache and a tied back ponytail. He was armed with a spear.
Then there was Fawful's robot, Junker. Junker resembled a pink trash can, with golden eye, arms that resembled vacuums, and brown foot-like shoes.
"Attention!" Said one of the Elite X-Nauts.
The X-Naut crew stood at attention and gave the arrivals a group salute.
"At ease gentlemen." Said Speardovich.
The crew relaxed and one of the Elite X-Nauts spoke up.
"Thank you for coming sirs. We believe that the demon Valefar is gone from his treasure vault, but we believe he probably left some form of defense behind to protect his treasure. We don't know what it is, but we appreciate your assistance and feel confident in you being here."
"A vault full of treasure with unknown defenses and danger. This should be interesting." Said Speardovich.
"I hope I get to shoot something." Said Bowyer as he pulled out what appeared to be a living arrow.
The arrow was a tiny machine called a Aero and it served as both a minion and projectile for Bowyer. The Aero had a yellow body with red feathers at one end and a silver sharp head at the other end. It had blue eyes, a pointy nose, and a mouth with sharp teeth in it.
Bowyer loaded the Aero up and fired it at a rock a few hundred yards away and it shattered the rock to bits. The crew clapped in amazement at the demonstration.
"I don't see why Smithy had us bring this robot with us or why he decided to give it a special power source." Said Claymorton indicating Junker.
"We're raiding a vault full of treasure and magical items. Junker specializes in sucking up things and the magic item powering up will make him stronger and a valuable asset to the mission." Said Speardovich.
"I guess that makes sense let's head to the cave and then will let the crew rest till tomorrow, before we begin the raid." Said Claymorton.
"A good idea. That should give the others plenty of time to finish the transport tunnel for us." Said Speardovich.
The anchor was lifted and the X-Ship headed out.
In another part of Waterfall the Squeaks were boarding their lair, which was a blimp that resembled Daroach. It was gray with two yellow stripes and a red spike on the front. The gondola and engine were red on the outside. The airship had two giant elevators with propellers extend from the top of the blimp; these were meant to resemble ears. Between the two elevators was a vast, red metal object designed to look like Daroach's top hat.
Daroach, Spinni, Storo, and Doc headed to the bridge of the ship, where they met up with another criminal that had joined their ranks. That criminal's name was a female Rabbid monster named Kanya.
Kanya had black, spiky hair, red eyebrows, and ribbons around her ears. Shd has a mouth with sharp teeth and wore a black dress with red armbands. Kanya wore red shorts and black and white boots.
Kanya was currently looking at a monitor that showed footage of Undyne fighting the Armored Toad and she appeared to be taking some notes from it. She finished up taking notes and turned to face the Squeaks.
"I see the rescue mission was a success." Said Kanya.
"It was. Anything new to report, while we were gone?" Said Daroach.
"As a matter of fact yes. We got a call from Nabbit requesting to form an alliance with us. Apparently he and some other criminals are attempting a big heist on some of Spirit's minions." Said Kanya.
"That's mighty bold of him. I'd like to hear him out before deciding." Said Daroach.
Kanya typed a message on the computer and sent it out. A few minutes later Nabbit responded back.
"Nabbit agrees to met us near a rock formation called Pike Rock." Said Kanya.
"Set a course for Pike Rock." Said Daroach to the other Squeaks.
The blimp moved out and several minutes later it arrived at a area near Pike Rock. The rock was called that because it resembled a large pike fish. Daroach exited the ship with Kanya and the two of them headed to Pike Rock, where they were met by Nabbit, Popple, Croco, and Pluto. Before any words could be said four more beings joined the party. Their names were Tolstar, Mouser, Tryclyde, and Clawgrip.
Tolstar was a large, light-green turtle monster with a yellow belly, orange lips, pink hair, and had small bat-like wings. He also had a big pink star on his belly and a small yellow one on his forehead.
Mouser was large, humanoid mouse monster who wore sunglasses, pink gloves, and pink boots.
Tryclyde was a large red snake monster with three heads that had a white underbelly.
Clawgrip was a large red crab monster with a yellow belly.
The monster criminals looked at one another and then Popple stepped forward to speak.
"Thank you all for agreeing to come here. We brought you all here for a golden opportunity of a lifetime. Not too long ago a force of X-Nauts Crump and some new group of criminals both launched a raid on Valefar's Vault. Nabbit was spying on the X-Nauts and the vault and witnessed the X-Nauts and the gang of criminals escape from the vault. Some time after that Valefar himself left the vault to purse the ones who stole from him. Valefar has not returned to the vault and right now the X-Nauts are making plans to raid it of all it's treasure and magic items. We plan to rob the X-Nauts once they take the treasure, but this is a really big job and we need your help."
Daroach, Kanya, Tolstar, Mouser, Tryclyde, and Clawgrip exchanged looks and they all burst out laughing.
"You must be a real group of fools if you intend to rob the X-Nauts! Spirit and her forces will hunt you down." Said Daroach.
"Their the strongest faction in the Underground. True they may have recently suffered some loses, but they are far from weak." Said Kanya.
"Even with all of us working together we'd still be outnumbered." Said Tolstar.
Popple looked annoyed and was about to shout at the group, but Croco stepped in.
"We'll let me let you in on a little secret. Spirit and her forces aren't as nearly invincible as you think they are. We already preformed a pretty big robbery on them and are still standing." Said Croco.
"How'd you manage to pull that off?" Asked Mouser.
"Simple we didn't fight them directly. We had someone else do that for us and in all that chaos and confusion we stole a great treasure from the X-Nauts." Said Croco.
"Who fought against the X-Nauts?" Asked Tryclyde.
"We sent the Legion of Light after them." Said Croco.
"And we plan to do so again. They'll create a huge distraction and as they are all fighting, will swoop on in and take as much treasure as we can, possibly all of it." Said Popple.
"So I'm guessing to pull this plan off you need all of our skills, resources, and talents." Said Kanya.
"Correct. Are you in?" Said Popple.
All the criminals exchanged looks. Then Daroach spoke.
"Me and my crew are in."
Tolstar, Mouser, Tryclyde, and Clawgrip also signed on.
"Excellent. This will be the payday of all pay days." Said Popple with a big grin as he rubbed his hands together.
Back at Undyne's house, Undyne was going through some old case files to see if she could figure out who the bomb thief was, while Mabel, Rain, Locke, Wendy, Gideon, Stan, and Huntress Wizard hung around outside the house waiting for Rock Wizard and the Eliminators to return from their mission. Mabel was trying to figure out if she had gained any new magic with her mermaid transformation. She sat up in the water filled wagon and pointed her hands up and concentrated with all her might to try and make something happen. Mabel hoped she got some kind of water abilities like Rain, Henry, or Lapis. She focused on the water in the wagon and tried to get it to move, but nothing happened.
"No control over water. Let's see if I got some kind of siren ability to enchant others with my voice or make super loud sounds." Said Mabel.
Mabel began to hum a little tune and Singtel song Cray Cray by her favorite boy band Sev'ral Timez. The others gathered around to listen, but they didn't look like they were hypnotized or anything.
"You got a good singing voice." Said Rain.
"Thanks, but I was hoping I get a little something extra from my monster transformation." Said Mabel looking a tiny bit disappointed.
Mabel then tried shouting as loud as she could, but her voice appeared to be normal with no bonus of increased volume or anything.
"Man this isn't working. Maybe if I'm in danger or something my powered will kick in. Wendy try scarring me or something." Said Mabel looking at Wendy.
"Alright I'll give it a shot." Said Wendy before bearing her fangs letting out a fierce growl and raised her arms up as if she was prepared to strike.
Mabel felt a jolt of adrenaline go through her as she felt something spark inside her. She raised her hands up towards Wendy. Mabel expected water or something to shoot out of them, instead a stream of bubbles floated out of her hands and struck Wendy who just blinked her eyes in confusion.
"Seriously! Bubbles! That's my magic?! What a ripoff!" Said Mabel in frustration as a few more bubbles came out of her hands.
"Hey its not to bad. I think its a cool power." Said Rain.
"I think so too." Said Gideon.
"It can provide a distraction or be a real fun thing at parties." Said Wendy.
"Still wish I had a better power." Mumbled Mabel.
"Good news everyone, I think I know who stole the bombs from the coral mine." Said Undyne as she came out of the house.
"Who is it?" Asked Locke.
"A criminal named Kanya, who specializes in explosions and robotics. I tangled with her and one of her robotic creations a few months back. I beat Kanya's creation, but she escaped. Now it looks like Kanya has resurfaced and I think she used the toads somehow to steal the explosions for her." Said Undyne.
"What makes you think that?" Asked Wendy.
"Because I fought a toad with a high tech suit of armor. The toads aren't smart enough to build armor like the one I saw. There's a few people in the Underground, but most of them are involved with the big factions and the toads aren't involved with them in anyway, so that just leaves free agents like Kanya left." Said Undyne.
"Guess that makes sense." Said Wendy.
Undyne took notice of Mabel's depressed mood.
"What's with Mabel?" Asked Undyne.
"She's upset that the only magic she can do is make bubbles with her hands." Said Stan.
Mabel demonstrated her ability by making some bubbles. Undyne blinked her eye and let out a little chuckle.
"You know kid, you shouldn't be mad at your ability just yet." Said Undyne.
"Whys that?" Asked Mabel.
"Because all abilities are useful and become strong overtime with training and practice. Take me for example when I was little and my magic kicked in all I could make with it was a tiny spear the size of a thumbtack." Said Undyne.
The others stared at Undyne in shock. Undyne continued on with her story.
"At first I was both mad and sad by this and I believed I wouldn't amount to anything. Then one day Asgore was visiting Waterfall and I met him. The king was curious about all the monsters developing their magic and what they could do. Asgore asked me to demonstrate my magic and at first I wouldn't do it because I was embarrassed, but he insisted and told me he wanted to see what I could do. I showed him my magic and he told me not to be ashamed of it and to start training and practicing with it. Asgore said with a good deal of training and practice my ability would grow. So after that I began training and practicing little by little the size of my spears grew in both size and power. Eventually I became really strong and became the Captain of the Royal Guard."
"Whoa!" Said Mabel in awe.
"Now you just practice with your magic and eventually you'll become strong as well." Said Undyne.
"Alright!" Said Mabel as she began to make more bubbles with her magic.
"That a girl!" Said Stan.
Rock Wizard and the Eliminators arrived at the house with a bound Spellbook, who now wore a gag and blindfold.
"So you caught the book." Said Undyne.
"We did and this book has been around and owned by some really powerful people in the Underground, who have all taken notes in it." Said Rock Wizard opening the book to show four names in it.
"Jenka. Shadow Queen. Ballos. Gaster. Looks like they all owned this book at one point and took notes in it. Very interesting." Said Undyne.
It was then that Undyne's cellphone that ranged and she answered it.
"Captain Undyne of the Royal Guard." Said Undyne.
"I have information on a move by the X-Nauts." Said a voice on the other end.
"What kind of move?" Asked Undyne.
"They're attempting to raid Valefar's Vault." Said the voice.
"Very daring. I thank you for this information. Do you know where the vault is by chance?" Said Undyne.
"It's...in the east in Waterfall and the Legion of Light and the Shellfish Corp are planning to make a move on them. You need to hurry soon before they leave the next day." Said the voice before they hung up.
"Looks like we got ourselves a new adventure ahead of us." Said Undyne turning to the others.
