Final Chapter: Back to the Human World

The sky stretched wide and endless, bathed in hues of deep orange and soft pink.

The setting sun dipped behind the skyline of the human world, casting a gentle glow over the rooftops.

They were home.

Finally, after everything—*the blood, the war, the pain—*they had made it back.

And for the first time in years, Yusuke Urameshi felt at peace.

Keiko stood beside him, her eyes wide with emotion as she took in the familiar sight of the city.

Her fingers curled around Yusuke's, holding tight.

Yusuke squeezed back, his lips quirking. "Told ya I'd get us back, babe."

She turned, smiling softly. "I never doubted you."

He snorted. "You should've."

Keiko laughed.

And god, Yusuke could never get tired of that sound.

But then—

A soft coo.

Yusuke looked down.

Kazuki.

His six-month-old son, nestled in his arms, tiny hands gripping onto his shirt.

Yusuke's heart clenched.

He still couldn't believe it.

Even after months, after late-night feedings, after Kazuki's tiny fingers wrapped around his own—it still didn't feel real.

This little thing, this small, fragile life—he made him.

Kazuki looked up at him, his big, dark eyes blinking curiously.

Yusuke swallowed hard.

Damn.

This kid already had him wrapped around his tiny little fingers.

Keiko reached over, brushing a thumb over Kazuki's cheek. "He looks like you," she whispered.

Yusuke scoffed, grinning. "Poor guy."

Keiko rolled her eyes, nudging him playfully.

Yusuke laughed, shifting Kazuki in his arms so the baby was resting against his chest.

"I dunno, babe," he murmured, pressing a kiss to the top of Kazuki's head. "I think he got the better deal."

Keiko's smile softened, her eyes filled with pure love.

Yusuke turned his gaze back toward the temple in the distance—Genkai's temple, their new home.

Yeah.

This was good.

This was perfect.

LATER THAT EVENING—GENKAI'S TEMPLE

The air was cool, the scent of pine drifting through the garden.

Keiko sat on the porch, watching as Yusuke and Kazuki played beneath the trees.

Her heart felt so full, she thought it might burst.

Yusuke crouched on the grass, holding Kazuki up like he was the most important thing in the world.

"Alright, kid," Yusuke grinned. "Show me what you got."

Kazuki let out a tiny gurgling laugh, flailing his chubby arms.

Keiko couldn't help but giggle. "Yusuke, he's six months old."

Yusuke huffed. "Yeah? And he's already tougher than Kuwabara."

Keiko rolled her eyes, but her heart swelled.

Yusuke was in love with this kid.

And it was beautiful.

Kazuki giggled again, reaching for Yusuke's face.

Yusuke let him, grinning wide.

"You and me, kid," he murmured, pressing a gentle kiss to Kazuki's forehead. "We're gonna be the strongest duo in history."

Kazuki cooed, his tiny hand patting against Yusuke's cheek.

And Yusuke—

Yusuke melted.

Keiko watched them, her chest aching with happiness.

She never thought they'd get here.

Not after everything they went through.

But they did.

They made it.

She stood up, stepping toward them.

Yusuke turned, grinning up at her.

"You jealous?" he teased.

Keiko laughed. "Maybe."

Yusuke smirked, pulling her down beside him.

He carefully placed Kazuki in her arms, then wrapped both of them in his embrace.

Keiko leaned into him, breathing him in.

Kazuki nestled between them, safe, warm, loved.

Yusuke exhaled slowly, pressing a lingering kiss to Keiko's hair.

"Damn," he murmured, his voice soft with wonder.

Keiko blinked up at him. "What?"

He swallowed hard, shaking his head.

"I never thought I'd get this lucky."

Keiko's heart squeezed.

She reached up, cupping his face. "You deserve this, Yusuke."

His breath caught.

She smiled. "We deserve this."

Yusuke's throat tightened.

For the first time in his life—he truly believed her.

He pulled her in, capturing her lips in a slow, deep kiss.

Kazuki giggled between them, completely oblivious.

Yusuke laughed, pulling back slightly. "Yeah, yeah, kid. We get it. You're the star now."

Keiko laughed too, resting her forehead against his.

Yusuke let out a slow breath, gazing at them both—his wife, his son, his world.

For years, he had been a fighter.

For years, he had been alone.

But now—

Now, he had everything.

And he was never letting it go.

AUTHOR'S NOTES: Hey guys! Thank you so much for sticking with me and reading this through the end! I hope you loved the story as much as I did!

Now, I am happy because I am finally able to have more Yusuke and Keiko moments than what we had from the anime/manga, and I was also able to give justice to Raizen's name! Demon King / War Lord indeed!
Your thoughts and reviews would be greatly appreciated! I love you all!

xoxo, Keiko Y.
