Chapter 4: The Clash Begins

The scene opens with Sasuke and Chōji standing side by side, their eyes scanning the dense forest ahead. Chōji fidgeted slightly, clutching a bag of chips in one hand. "So, Sasuke, who do you think we're gonna face first?" he asked, his voice casual but laced with curiosity.

Sasuke smirked, his dark eyes narrowing as he crossed his arms. "It's obvious. Naruto's on the other side. He's loud, predictable, and reckless. We'll know they're coming the second he makes his move."

Meanwhile, further back, Shikamaru crouched in the shade of a large tree, surveying the field with his usual lazy expression. Sakura, Sai, and Ino huddled nearby, awaiting orders. Shikamaru let out a low sigh as he mumbled to himself. "Troublesome… Two new girls on his team. Medic-types, probably, but who knows what tricks they've picked up? Gotta figure out their play…"

Sai, leaning casually against the trunk, made no effort to lower his voice as he spoke to the girls. "It's no wonder you two are nervous. New opponents can be intimidating, especially when you're not used to being useful."

Sakura and Ino shot him matching glares, their fists clenching as they suppressed the urge to retaliate. Before either could fire back, a sudden buzzing sound filled the air, growing louder by the second.

"Bugs!" Ino cried, pointing toward the swarm of kikaichū descending on them from above.

Simultaneously, dozens of Naruto clones erupted from the bushes, charging toward them with battle cries that echoed through the forest.

"Let's go, guys!" Naruto's voice shouted from somewhere in the chaos.

Back near Sasuke and Chōji, Kiba's voice rang out, his tone commanding and urgent. "Akamaru, Dynamic Marking!"

Akamaru barked in response, leaping into the air and releasing a spray of yellow liquid that splattered across the battlefield, marking targets and obscuring visibility.

Sasuke and Chōji instinctively dodged, narrowly avoiding the marking as senbon needles rained down from above. Shizune, perched on a high branch, controlled her strikes with precision, ensuring each needle missed its mark just enough to keep the battle fair but challenging.

"Is that the best they've got?" Sasuke muttered, sidestepping a clone's punch and countering with a swift kick, dispelling it instantly.

Chōji rolled to avoid a cluster of bugs, his hand reaching for another chip. "Man, this is intense! But… kinda fun."

Back at Shikamaru's position, the clones pressed their assault, forcing the group to scatter. Sakura leapt forward with a punch, shattering a clone into a puff of smoke. Ino attempted to focus her Mind Transfer Jutsu, but the bugs disrupted her concentration.

Sai, unfazed, calmly unfurled a scroll and summoned an ink beast, sending it charging toward the swarm. "How primitive," he muttered.

Shizune watched from her vantage point, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Let's see how long they can hold up," she thought, observing the balance of the battle.

Rin, stationed nearby, kept an eye on the teams, her hands ready to heal anyone who might get caught off guard. "Naruto's doing well so far," she whispered to herself. "But we need to keep the pressure up without overwhelming them."

The battle continued to unfold, chaotic and exhilarating, with each team testing their limits and pushing themselves to adapt. Team Tsunade and Team 8 worked seamlessly together, proving to be a formidable challenge for Team 7 and 10. The true test had only just begun.

As the battle continued, Sasuke darted through the woods, his sharp eyes scanning for Kiba. Suddenly, Hinata emerged from behind a tree, her Byakugan activated and her stance poised for a Gentle Fist strike. She lashed out with precision, landing a series of blows on Sasuke that disrupted his chakra flow momentarily.

"You think you can stop me?" Sasuke said, smirking as he steadied himself. "This just makes it more interesting."

Hinata remained silent but focused, her determination clear. Kiba rejoined the fight, leaping in to flank Sasuke. The three clashed, Sasuke reveling in the challenge as he fought the duo.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Shikamaru observed the chaos around him. With Chōji down and Sasuke still separated, his team was losing ground fast. He sighed deeply, muttering, "Troublesome." His eyes darted to Sai, who had just dispersed another Naruto clone.

Sai caught Shikamaru's glance and immediately understood. Without a word, he vanished into the shadows, leaving Shikamaru surrounded by Naruto, Shino, and Shizune.

Realizing he was outnumbered, Shikamaru raised his hands in mock surrender. "Alright, you got me. I give up," he said nonchalantly.

Naruto grinned. "Smart choice, Shikamaru!"

As the three of them turned their attention to tying up Shikamaru, they moved to gather Sakura, Ino, and Chōji as well. The four were lined up together, seemingly incapacitated. However, Shikamaru's eyes glinted with subtle amusement.

Without warning, Shikamaru activated his Shadow Possession Jutsu, capturing all three of his opponents in one fell swoop. "Gotcha," he said with a smirk.

"Sai, now!" he shouted.

Sai dropped from a nearby tree, quickly sketching multiple ropes that sprang to life and wrapped tightly around Naruto, Shino, and Shizune, binding them together.

A moment later, Sasuke emerged from the forest, dragging a beaten Kiba and a struggling Hinata back onto the field. "They weren't much of a challenge," Sasuke said smugly.

Shikamaru gave a slight nod. "Good timing. Now we've got all of them in one place."

Naruto squirmed against the ropes, his frustration boiling over. "You sneaky jerk, Shikamaru! I'll get out of this and—"

"Save it, Naruto," Shikamaru interrupted, his tone calm as ever. "This match is over."

As the tension in the training grounds began to settle, Rin walked onto the battlefield with the four sensei—Tsunade, Kakashi, Kurenai, and Asuma—close behind her. Tsunade, her expression unreadable, crossed her arms as she surveyed the tied-up participants and scattered battlefield.

"Well, this has been... interesting," she began, her voice sharp as she turned to Rin and Shizune. "Care to explain why you left your team on their own? I thought you two were supposed to be part of this fight."

Rin and Shizune exchanged a glance before Shizune stepped forward, her tone calm and confident. "We knew the true purpose of this test, Tsunade-sama," she explained. "It wasn't about winning or losing. It was about allowing them all to show what they were capable of under pressure. By stepping back, we gave them the opportunity to work through the challenges themselves and demonstrate their growth."

Tsunade raised an eyebrow but didn't immediately respond, her gaze shifting to Shino as he cleared his throat.

"I also deduced the real objective of the test," Shino began, his voice steady. "This wasn't just about individual combat strength. It was about tactics, teamwork, and how well we could adapt to unexpected scenarios. That's why I took on a leadership role. I wanted to highlight the importance of coordination between Naruto's team and ours."

Shino adjusted his glasses and continued, "I worked with Naruto to use his clones strategically, creating distractions and confusion, while Kiba played to his strength by focusing on mobility and disrupting Sasuke's movements. The goal wasn't to win outright but to draw attention to how much stronger we are when we work together."

Naruto grinned widely at the praise. "See? Told you we'd be awesome!"

On the other side, Shikamaru let out a long sigh, rubbing the back of his neck. "Honestly, I wish I'd been assigned to Naruto's team instead of Sasuke's," he admitted. "Trying to work with someone who refuses to cooperate is a nightmare. And Sakura? She was no help, just standing around relying on Sasuke the whole time."

Sakura's face flushed with embarrassment, but before she could retort, Shikamaru continued, "Sai was the only one who pulled his weight. He picked up on my plan as soon as I surrendered and executed it perfectly. At least someone knew what teamwork meant."

Sai gave a small bow, though his expression remained impassive. "I was merely doing what was necessary to complete the mission. Your strategy was logical and effective."

Tsunade's lips quirked into a small smile as she turned to address everyone. "Well, it seems you all learned something today—both about yourselves and each other. That's the entire point of this exercise. Strength alone won't carry you through as shinobi. Strategy, teamwork, and adaptability are just as important."

Kakashi nodded, closing his book for once. "She's right. And if I may add, it was an impressive effort all around."

Asuma chuckled, lighting a cigarette. "Even if some of you have a lot to learn, this was a good start."

Kurenai gave a small smile to her team. "And don't worry. We'll work on your weaknesses together. That's what training is for."

Tsunade clapped her hands, her tone brisk. "Alright, enough standing around. Everyone gets the rest of the day to recover. But tomorrow, the real work begins. Dismissed!"

As the teams began to disperse, Naruto pumped his fist in the air. "Ramen's on me! Let's go celebrate!"

Rin and Shizune exchanged amused glances before following him, their confidence in their new team already growing.
