1. Foreword

FOREWORD

My very first fic on this website was a crossover between Harry Potter and Final Fantasy VII. Entitled Harry Potter and the Cetra Heritage, it was a love letter to two of my favourite fictional franchises. In many regards, I am proud of it, even though more than a few elements make me cringe something fierce.

However, I wanted to revisit that crossover in a different way, having an adult or at least older Harry paired with one of the characters, with Aerith the frontrunner. My first attempt at that, Vert the Emerald and the Cetra Heritage, wasn't bad per se, but I still find it somewhat wanting in hindsight. And it petered out somewhat.

Yet the idea never went away, and after playing the Final Fantasy VII Remake, which expanded on the story, lore and characters in a huge way, I realised I should revisit this crossover, especially after Final Fantasy VII Rebirth expanded more on things. Eventually, I hit on a good plot, and here, I hope, is a result you can enjoy.

Anyway, time for the usual disclaimers. Firstly, there will be spoilers for both Final Fantasy VII, and the Potterverse, as well as the previous instalments of this story.

Secondly, there will be annotations, heavy annotations, and bellyachers will be treated with all due contempt.

Thirdly, for language, violence, and sexual references, this is an M-rated work.
