Clawface was the second one to reach the rim and step foot into WindClan territory. Taking a deep breath, he looked around the expanse of land, of course seeing nothing and even with the wind blowing towards them, he could smell nothing. But then, that was to be expected, it had been weeks since Brokenstar drove the warriors of WindClan out. There was no way that any trace could be left of them. Turning to his little group, he tilted his head before gazing at Morningflower, who had kept her head down and stayed quiet this whole time, even as she walked forward first.
"Morningflower, only you know where WindClan went. We trust you to get us there." Clawface said, moving to nuzzle the molly when she remained still. The wiry she-cat still didn't move and Clawface looked at his other companions before Heartseeker stepped forward, her eyes narrowed.
"You want redemption, you want to make things right? Then stop wallowing and lead! You're are one clue to finding the Clan, and if you want us to help them then start moving!"
Morningflower raised her head at the end of Heartseeker's words, curling her lip before shaking her head. "The last time someone yelled at me like that, I clawed their face. I don't think you want the same treatment. But...you're right, I do want to right the wrong I committed. And I do want to bring my family home, I can't stay mired in the past. But...it's been weeks. What if there is no WindClan to bring back?"
"Then you can stay in the forest with ShadowClan. If you accept, that is." Clawface spoke first, surprising even himself and he ducked his head when the others looked at him. Morningflower huffed softly at that but said nothing for a few moments.
"A bold offer, but it's not like I have many choices. I doubt Bluestar would want me back and I don't like the idea of swimming for my meals. I supposed ShadowClan is my only haven if my Clan truly is no more."
Clawface picked up his head and nodded, "ShadowClan would be honored to have you."
Morningflower nodded before facing the moor once again and took up the lead. During the crossing, all the cats stopped here and there to try and draw on some scent that might still be there to help them find WindClan but there was nothing. As Morningflower readied herself to move on, Sandspirit stalled, looking back where they came. Heartseeker called to her and the younger molly shook her head.
"I'm...just thinking of Firepaw. And the rest of the Clan," she added swiftly to which Heartseeker's whiskers twitched in amusement. "I just wish she was here. I already miss her."
"Do not worry, you gave your vow to the Firstborn. You will return to her and you will have your own Song to tell. Now, let's catch up to the others."

The trek across the moor carried on, the group could not find any trace of WindClan but with Morningflower leading them, they went on. Clawface sighed as he briefly looked up at the sky, staring at the open sky with a grimace. He could feel himself twitching every moment or so, the lack of tress and moreover the lack of shadows made him think that WindClan was certainly different living in an area like this. He then looked back to see how his companions were doing.
Heartseeker seemed fine but Sandspirit seemed to feeling the same as he did. The young warrior was chittering quietly to herself and more than once looked back at the distance forest behind them. Heartseeker stayed close to the younger molly and offered her encouragement as well as comfort and by her faster movement after, it looked like it helped ease Sandspirit some.
Morningflower was watching too and allowed herself a fleeting smile, she was surprised and impressed by how much ground they were covering. Most cats from the forest couldn't stand the wide open expanse of WindClan, it was just too different for them. But here, it would serve them well to have the group move on so.
Eventually, the group reached the barn that Barley lived in and true to thought, the stocky male was ambling along not too far away. The friendly demon stopped and sat down when he saw them and greeted them kindly enough.
"Quite a mix of Clan cats here. I'm sure that that isn't something that just happens." he exclaimed, looking over the travelers with a small hint of interest.
"We're journeying to bring WindClan home. ShadowClan was adamant on doing so, and ThunderClan wanted to help. Morningflower here is the only WindClan cat to return to the forest and she is here to guide us as best as she can." Clawface explained, to which Barley only nodded, turning his head to look at the path past his barn and where the land lay unclaimed by any Clan cat.
"I wish you all well. But if you'd like, you can stop by my barn and refresh yourselves."
"That would be great, Barely, but we should-" Clawface began but Sandspirit spoke up, looking to the older male with respect shining in her eyes.
"I think it would be best to rest while we can. We traveled a long way and Barley's farm is rather safe. We probably won't get an opportunity like this for a while. We should take it."
Clawface's ear twitched but he looked at his other companions and eventually saw the sense in what the ThunderClan warrior said. "Alright, we can stop for rest. But she should stay long. Just long enough to get our strength back."
The other three cats all nodded and followed Barley to his barn where they all huddled on the straw bales and settled in to rest. Heartseeker herself began to groom Morningflower, the WindClan cat blinked in surprise but didn't pull away. It felt nice, almost like being their own little Clan. Sandspirit stayed with her back to the pair, smiling gently as she yawned and placed her head down on her paws.
Only Clawface stayed sitting up, watching the sky from the barn door, his tail tip twitching. He thought that they could have traveled more but he didn't want to seem like a tyrant. StarClan knows that ShadowClan had enough of that stigma.
Shaking his head, he turned slightly when he heard Barley walking over towards him. The shorter black and white demon male dipped his head to Clawface and sat watching the sky along with him for a moment. The two males remained silent for a long time until Barley, while scratching at his ear, spoke calmly.
"There's nothing wrong with taking a break while you can, Clawface." the short tom said quietly, still watching the sky. "That young molly is right, you'll know know where you'll have to lay your head after this. It's best to rest in friendly quarters while you can."
Grunting softly, Clawface first looked to Barley then to his small travelling group, before letting out a small sigh. "I just...want to make things right. For my Clan. We have to do this, we have to find WindClan and bring them back. It's the only way to prove ourselves better after having to follow the tyrant. We can't afford to rest so soon."
Barley tilted his head before opening his jaws in a yawn, seemingly bored. But when he spoke, his voice was strong and clear. "But forcing them to move at an unrelenting pace isn't wise either. Wouldn't that be the same as what the tyrant would do?"
Clawface turned sharply at Barley, the fur along his spine spiking up and his lips beginning to curl to show his fangs. Barley only looked calmly at him and the ShadowClan warrior's anger fizzled out. He blinked before taking a deep breath, seeing the sense in the loner's words. "I...didn't think of it like that. Alright, I promise not to push them more than we should."
"Seeking redemption is not wrong, Clawface. But there might be times when the path you take to it might bring more harm than good. Remember that." Barley said before smiling at the warrior before heading out of the barn, probably going to continue his wanderings.
Clawface watched him go before thinking on what the loner said, staying by himself for the longest time. He only returned to the group once he started feeling cold and shook his body to fluff out his fur. After he returned to the group and sat a little away from them, unsure. Sandspirit was the first to notice him, picking up her head and smiling at him. She then stretched before moving to settle next to the brawny warrior, shocking him but he did not push her away.
As she shifted back into her easy doze, the other mollies joined them, taking places besides the ShadowClan tom and following Sandspirit in sleep. Heartseeker was the last to fall into slumber and as such she was able to hearClawface's words.
"I won't force any of you to follow me. I'm done with following the tyrant's ways. From now on, I'll do this the right way!"

Sandspirit was the first up, she looked towards the door to see that night was creeping in. There was only a little bit of sunlight left. The pale furred molly tilted her head and slowly got to her paws. As she reached the door, Barley walked in, dipping his head to her.
"If you're going out there, you best be careful. Rogue demons still prowl about. I'm sure you remember them."
"I do, Barley. Thanks for the warning. I'm just going to take a look around, thanks for the warning." Sandspirit replied, turning her head to lick a tuft of fur on her shoulder. She really did remember those demons that attacked her and her party when Bluestar took them to the Moonstone.
Hopefully, they could be avoided this time. But just to be safe, she would be extra careful and make sure her current party got through this area safely.
Heading out with a shake of her fur, Sandspirit headed in the direction of Mothermouth, it was close to where they got attacked last time, so it would be smart to check there first. Stepping cautiously, the young warrior's ears were on a swivel and her nose twitched constantly. There was no scent or sound of danger, but Sandspirit couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Perhaps it would have been smarter to wake one of her companions to come with her.
Snorting softly at that, Sandspirit continued on. What kind of warrior would she be to have constant back-up by her side. There were times when a warrior had to do things on her own. Moving on, the pale molly looked around, the off feeling still on her and making her somewhat nervous.
As she walked more towards where the ditch was, Sandspirit's fur began to prickle along her spine. Maybe it was time to go back. Maybe the uneasy feeling will fade in the presence of her party. The sound of a rustling bush and sharp scent of hunger was all the warning she got before the pale flame molly was forced to the ground by sharp claws raking her cheek.
Snarling in pain, Sandspirit backed away, glaring around until she saw what attacked her. A skinny molly that had her fangs bared and her hackles raised. Covering her left golden eyes were flecks of pale blue. Half-demon. Upon seemingly assessing her opponent, Sandspirit noticed with a twitch that the other molly relaxed and smirked. Her indignation was confirmed as the other openly laughed.
"Ah, my luck has changed. You are so low on totem pole, you aren't even a threat. Here, make it easy for the both of us and just jump down my throat. It'll be less painful for you."
Growling softly, Sandspirit readied herself to spring. "I may not be a full bloodied demon, or even a half-demon, but that blood still runs in my veins! And besides, I don't need it to beat a arrogant fool like you."
The half-demon looked like she was going to say something but was slightly caught off guard by Sandspirit's charge. She just barely managed to dodge but even as she turned, Sandspirit managed to turn and claw at her side. Hissing, the skinny female flung herself at Sandspirit's back, biting into her hind leg before jumping off.
Limping now, Sandspirit had to try something different, even starving this molly was stronger than her. Huffing, the ThunderClan warrior looked to see a straggly tree beyond them. It wasn't much and she doubted it could hold her weight for long, but she had to try. Taking a deep breath, she bolted for the tree, her passing right by the molly served her well as the other's confusion bought her time. Taking that, Sandspirit limped as fast as she could up the tree looked thicker once she was closer to it. That was good, jumping from limp to limb, Sandspirit looked down to see the molly trying to follow her but being much slower. She waited until the other was up high enough and jumped from her branch to a lower on, scoring her claws down on the other's back. Yowling in pain at the deep cut, the half-demon looked down to see Sandspirit pivoting and jumping upwards to rake her claws against her shoulder and neck.
The force of the blow nearly had the molly falling from her branch, but her dug her claws in and tried to reign in her surprise. "What the-" she cut herself off as she tried to jumped to the branch Sandspirit was on, the other allowing her and even backing away as the other advanced on her.
Smirking and thinking the battle would be soon won, lunged at Sandspirit. Only for the warrior to have seemingly vanish from sight and the half-demon, confused once more, dropped her guard. This is what Sandspirit was waiting for as she hualed her body from under the branch and kicked the half-demon in face, sending her flailing to the ground. Now right side up, Sandspirit looked down on the prone form and sighed. Time to finish the job.
Leaping rather heavily from branch to branch, Sandspirit walked toward the skinny molly. She groaned as the Clan cat got near and weakly raised her head. They were up high just enough for the fall to due serious damage. She wouldn't be getting up. With narrowed eyes, Sandspirit bared her fangs before sinking them into the half-demon's neck, killing her quickly.
There was no point in letting her live, only to suffer a slow death.
Sandspirit stayed by the body only for a little while before she continued to scout. Even with her injures, she couldn't let her companions fall into another fight like this. Barley did warn her but it was better to be thorough.
Finding no other demons further in, Sandspirit turned to head back to the barn, but soon found her party walking towards her. Heartseeker was the first to come to her, looking her over and licking her wounds. Sandspirit moved slightly away and told her she was fine. Clawface frowned at that and shook his head.
"We don't have a healer with us, Sandspirit. That was reckless and unnecassary what you did. We could have handled this together."
"I know, but that would have meant more injures. At least this way, there won't be anymore surprises." Sandspirit lightly argued, though she did see the sense in the ShadowClan cat's words.
Clawface's eyes softened as he sighed, looking to the path ahead. "I know you were just trying to help. But no more heroics. After this, if anyone of us gets any ideas, let us all know. If you're okay to travel, we should keep going. Morningflower, take the lead once more."
With that, the group set off again, Heartseeker taking care to keep a better eye on Sandspirit while Clawface hoped that there wouldn't be anymore injures soon after this.
A/N: Hey...here's the lastest chapter...after so long. I don't have anything to say really. Just...just enjoy. And thank you.
