Sandspirit woke up to the scent of the Clan leader in her nose and she tried to be quick in sitting up, but Bluestar merely shook her head and gestured with her tail that she could relax. The pale flame molly blinked but did as she was told, though she was comforted by having Firepaw by her side. And while the apprentice didn't attack, she still wasn't happy with Bluestar so close.

"I'm just checking on her, I mean...no harm." the silvery cat said, her voice calm and neutral. That seemed to soothe Firepaw some , until Bluestar went on. "Heartseeker is okay, I'm...looking after her. She's a strong cat."

Firepaw brightened at that while smiling. "Yes, she is! She's the strongest in the world!" Sandspirit and Bluestar only chuckled at this, humoring Firepaw's bragging for her sister.

Bluestar spoke to Sandspirit quietly for a few more moments before getting up to go back to her den where Heartseeker still resided. On the way out, Yellowfang gave her some poppy seeds for the tabby, saying that it will help for any lingering pain. Bluestar thanked her quietly before heading on. Once Heartseeker was nearly recovered, there were some things she needed to talk with her about.

XxXx

Bluestar walked into her den quietly, Heartseeker was lying in her nest sleeping soundly. She didn't want to wake the younger molly up. As she sat down beside the slumbering tabby, a somewhat painful thought entered the leader's mind. Heartseeker reminded her of Oakheart.

The same large body, the same strength, and the same disregard for their wounds. It was eerie. It was just as well that Heartseeker didn't have reddish-brown fur or else Bluestar would have screamed.

Sighing softly, Bluestar lowered herself onto her belly, watching Heartseeker. She wanted to ask her so many questions. Would she stay in ThunderClan and become a true warrior? Why did she want to stay so close to her when she could have settled elsewhere to heal? And why did she want to be near Bluestar now that he own wounds were nearly mended and she felt very little pain?

But then, Bluestar herself could have solved that issue by simply telling Heartseeker she didn't need to watch over her anymore. And yet...the thought of doing so made Bluestar shiver.

Moving just a bit closer to Heartseeker, Bluestar thought of Oakheart again. Her brave, strong, sometimes annoying and impulsive Oakheart. Bluestar remembered nearly being able to best her in anything. Not hunting, not tracking and certainly not fighting.

But Bluestar remembered the warm feeling that she had when she and Oakheart used to just walked the territory and talk. Their fur brushing together as they walked the border of their Clans under the night sky.

They had met when Bluestar, Bluefur at the time, caught Oakheart sleeping on ThunderClan's territory. Bluefur jumped on the other molly and bit her ear to wake her up and was at first stunned by just how much bigger the RiverClan female was. Despite having been bitten, Oakheart was jovial and even teasing to her as she swan back to her own side of the border.

Bluefur didn't realize the significance of the silver of red covering Oakheart's bottom left eye. Even the lightheaded feeling, Bluefur chalked up to nerves. After all, the Clans didn't know that much about demons, there was too little cats that survived encounters with them. Perhaps if she did or asked questions, she could have avoided her future heartache.

Bluefur had wanted to put the irritating molly out of her mind, but a few days later, she found Oakheart fishing, luckily for her, on RiverClan's side of the border. Bluefur had no idea at the time that Oakheart was a demon, she remembered the tales her father would tell her of the "ravenous" and "bloodthirsty" cats that prowled the forest, such tales made Bluefur shiver as a kit. But even though Oakheart was big and strong like the monsters in the stories, she was also kind and brave. But she remembered how Oakheart would either dodge the question or change the subject when Bluefur would try to broach the subject with her, looking distressed when Bluefur would also tell her of Stormtail's stories.

And in spite of that, Bluefur found herself loving Oakheart, as much as the molly could be a nuisance sometimes, it only added to her charm. She loved everything about her, to her massive size, to her comforting laugh. To the way she comforted Bluefur after her sister was killed by a demon.

Bluestar remembering being excited when she discovered that she was going to have Oakheart's kits, even though they would be half-Clan and that would be hard, she was still happy. It didn't matter to her that Oakheart was female and still managed to give her kits, she was happy. She didn't need to question it. It was only when a inside threat from ThunderClan made her see that she had to protect her Clanmates, and give up her yet to be born kits.

But she wanted to be with Oakheart when she gave birth and met with her everyday during the last stages of her pregnancy to fulfill this. Oakheart made a den for them on the outskirts of the Clans' terrtority, where they wouldn't be found or harassed.

The night came soon came and Bluefur gave birth to three kits, though one was born dead. Though the parents grieved, Bluefur cared and cherished her two remaining kits. Oakheart curled around all of them, protecting them with her bulk alone.

They stayed hidden for almost two weeks, Bluefur feared that they stayed away too long but she didn't want to leave her kits. But by the end of that second week she looked closely at her kits, they were already playing and jumping (albeit a little clumsy) on her and each other. They were way too big for kits their age and they had already started nibbling on the prey Oakheart brought, but then Bluefur noticed that Okaheart always had a few extra slices of meat with her that she ate for herself and coaxed their kits into trying.

Bluefur frowned as the wheels in her head started to turn. Not many of her Clanmates or other Clan cats were as massive as her. And she hadn't heard of any other females getting others pregnant. Unless...

"Oakheart...is there something wrong with our kits? They are already trying to eat meat and they are much bigger than kits their age should be. And you...you..." Bluefur looked up to see Oakheart staring down at her, a bittersweet expression on her face.

"It's okay, Bluefur, they are wonderful kits, beautiful and strong! What does it matter if their bigger than usual? So what if they are eating meat now? They are lovely, just like their mother." As she spoke, Bluefur tried to look Oakheart in the eyes, but found the RiverClan molly's voice fading, her vision blurring and her body felt like it was floating away.

The silver-blue mother managed to shake herself loose and scramble away from Okaheart and the kits. Building fear and anger made her fur bristle and Oakheart moved to shield her kits, all while looking distressed and unsure.

"You're a demon! Why didn't you tell me?! You...you killed cats and eat them!" Bluestar's voice raised into a yowl as she continued to back away from Oakheart and the kits.

"I didn't want to scare you, I liked being with you and I...I didn't want to you to think I was a monster! Blue...I know I should have told you, but I was having just a good time with you, I didn't think it would matter."

Bluefur shook her head, baring her fangs andunsheathed her claws. "My sister was killed by a demon! And you think it wouldn't have mattered that my mate was a demon?! That those two...two creatures that came from me are demons?!"

Oakheart's eyes widened at Bluefur's words, curling around her kits in an attempt to guard them from their mother's harsh words. "Bluefur...stop...please."

"No...no...no! Those...those things! They aren't my kits! They aren't mine! They are monsters! You...stay away from me, Oakheart! Stay away!" The ThunderClan molly then ran, leaving her kits and her mate and never turning back. She tried desperately to block out the heart rending cry of Oakheart as she raced further and further away. She vowed then and there to never speak of her mate or kits ever again.

Bluestar was pulled from her memories when she saw Heartseker stirring. The tabby slowly opened her eyes and the leader of ThunderClan shuffled slightly away from her, her expression guarded and now, after thinking about her former mate and kits, unsure. She didn't want to get involved with another demon, not after what she did.

It was moons later that Bluefur realized that she was wrong in cutting Oakheart and her kits out of her life. Just because Oakheart kept the fact that she was a demon from her, it wasn't right for Bluefur to take her anger and hurt out on her kits. Now, they grew up in RiverClan, hating her. There was nothing she could do to change that, instead watch her kits grow up with the knowledge that their mother hated them for being born.

The leader sighed once more, earning a concerned look from Heartseeker. It mirrored the same look Oakheart used to give her whenever she went a little too hard with their mock battles.

"Are you...alright?" Heartseeker asked, trying to close the distance between them but Bluestar only moved away, shaking her head.

"I should be asking you that. Yellowfang gave me this poppy seeds for you, in case you were still in a lot of pain." Bluestar gently pushed the leaf wrapped seeds towards Heartseeker before taking back her spot away from her. The tabby noticed but said nothing, for now.

"I'm okay. How is Sandspirit?" the tabby asked, ignoring the poppy seeds in favor of Blustar. She could sense her unhappiness and wanted to reach out to her. But thought it better to wait for Bluestar to come to her.

"She's fine, Firepaw is with her. Yellowfang is a good healer, they are in good paws. " Bluestar replied softly, settling back down on her belly and placing her head on her paws, closing her eyes. "You should take it easy, you don't want to overexert yourself. You can tell me what happened tomorrow."

Heartseeker tilted her head, staring at the older molly and after a struggle of getting to her paws, she tottered over to the leader, nuzzling her despite feeling the leader stiffen beneath her.

"Stop. Please stop. I can't..." Bluestar trailed off with a sigh, before abruptly getting to her paws and walking out of the den. "Don't follow me, stay here and rest. Please." she ordered Heartseeker lightly over her shoulder before heading out of camp and into the forest.

Bluestar walked until she was at the RiverClan border where she sat watching the river and listening to the sounds of the waves over the shore. She remembered coming here to meet Oakheart and now that she was gone, those times would now only live in her memories.

Her ears perked when she heard a splash and blinked, focusing on the river to see a cat swimming in its depths. It was hard at first to see who it was, but once the cat came to the shore and shook out its fur, she recognized the strong build and wide shoulders. It was Stonefur, her son.

Bluestar blinked again as the wet RiverClan warrior glared lightly at her, and Bluestar had to look away to avoid falling into the darkness. However she didn't move even when the tom started to walk over her, his blue eyes blazing in barely checked rage and disgust. Bluestar noted the flecks of gold shining in his left eye but quickly turned her head away. Stonefur stopped right at the border, his tail lashing.

"What are you doing here, Bluestar!? Have you come to kill some of our warriors too?! Following after WindClan, are you!?" he snarled, baring his fangs.

His words caused Bluestar to whip her head around, her eyes widening. "Kill your warriors? What are you talking about. No, never! Was it Mistyfoot, is she okay?"

"MY sister is fine, not that it would concern you. After all, we're nothing but creatures, things that you regret coming from you." Stonefur growled lowly, narrowing his eyes. He watched at Bluestar flinched, taking a bit of pleasure from seeing the pain flint across her face.

"I'm...I'm sorry. I should have never said that. I was wrong. Please-"

"You ran away from us, cursing us for just being born. Blaming us for something we had no control over!" Stonefur snarled at first before slowly, slowly another emotion came to his eyes. It was there for only a few seconds but Bluestar saw it. Anguish. However it was quickly replaced with anger. "You didn't want us simply because of what we were. Well, we didn't need you! We became strong and brave without you. Our father Oakheart raised us with twice as much love!" the silver-gray tom puffed out his chest as he spoke of his father, Oakheart.

Bluestar winced at his words before trying to give a pained smile, daring to take a step forward. "Yes, I can...see that. You've become big and strong, just like your father. She...would be proud of you still, if she was here."

Stonefur hissed as she got close, backing away and arching his back but even though there was still rage, there was something else. But Bluestar couldn't place it. Instead, Stonefur's gruff voice cracked a little as he backed away again.

"Why are you here, you aren't wanted. But then, you know all about that, don't you?" he growled, turning his head away from her.

"I...I was thinking of Okaheart...and my body took me here." Bluestar muttered truthfully, she couldn't find it in her to lie. Just Stonefur's words alone made her heart ache for what she had done. And for what she could have had.

"Thinking of Oakheart? Why? Why now? When she's dead! You could have came back, you could apologized. Oakheart waited for you, she waited so long for you! She told us how you would avoid her at Gatherings, how she made sure never to look at her. How do I know you're not lying!? Why couldn't you come back for us! We would have forgiven you, yet you pretend we didn't even exist!" His voice raising into a yowl was the only warning Bluestar got before feeling her cheek being sliced open with claws and the feeling of rolling across the ground.

Bluestar managed to get to her paws and looked up when she heard Stonefur racing towards her with his claws outstretched. "Why couldn't you just accept us?!"

Bluestar closed her eyes, ready to feel Stonefur's claws on her but instead, she heard her son screaming in pain and opened her eyes to see Firepaw clinging to Stonefur's face and chest, holding on even as the RiverClan bucked and thrashed, trying to dislodge her.

After a few seconds, Firepaw jumped away from Stonefur, looking back at the older molly. "Are you alright?"

"How-?"

"Sister sent me, she was worried about you." Firepaw groused, not looking too happy but defending her nonetheless.

"You're...a demon. You're close enough to a demon that she worries for you, yet you spurned father and us!? Hypocrite!" Stonefur snarled, shaking the blood from his head and charging at the pair. Bluestar screamed for Firepaw to run, while the young apprentice readied herself against Stonefur.

A/N: Well, shit. Stonefur makes his first appearance, only to be both hurt and angry by Bluestar's presence and the fact that might be close to another demon after shunning both him and his sister and their "father" Oakheart. Wonder what will happen, guess you gotta find out in the next chapter. Well until then, as always, enjoy.
