Summary:
Duel Academy, the school built by Seto Kaiba to foster a new generation of talented duelists is one of the greatest institutions in the world... that said, with the knowledge of three dangerous cards sealed under the school it might be a good idea if someone there was able to keep an eye on things and let Kaiba know what's going on at Academy Island. Perhaps, the young boy with the new Kuriboh monster? He'll need a special deck to use for emergencies but maybe this Jaden Yuki can keep Duel Academy running smoothly while enjoying his special entrance?
Ulrich362: Well, Jaden managed to get special permission to enroll at Duel Academy, though with some unique conditions that don't apply to any of his classmates.

Jaden was boarded on a helicarrier with the other students while softly looking over his new Deck he had obtained from Seto Kaiba. It was a strong Fusion based Deck that is like his HERO cards but is provides even more strength, and powerful abilities. Jaden wonders how Kaiba, and Kaiba Corp came up with such a powerful Deck much less give it to HIM of all people but as long as it allows him to keep going after his goal in Duel Academy it all mattered to him.
"Huh, what are you doing here?" asked the boy with the British accent. "I believe you failed your entrance exam correct?"
"Yeah, you misunderstood your card and ended up losing the duel." agreed the boy with blue hair.
Jaden looked over seeing the two before he admitted, "Well without going into much detail, I was given a second chance."
They both looked surprised before the boy with the British accent nodded. "I see, well I can't say I expected someone to get a second chance but if you ever need any assistance with your cards I would be willing to help."
Jaden nodded with a smile, "Actually, I have a new Deck, I want to test, and be familiar with if we got a chance. Oh, I'm Jaden Yuki by the way."
"Bastion Misawa, and that sounds good to me." he smiled.
"And you?" Jaden looked over to the blue haired boy, "Syrus right?"
"Yeah, I can't believe I somehow managed to win my duel." the blue-haired boy admitted.
"So your in, it just means that you have a place in Duel Academy." Jaden grinned to him.
"Yeah, I guess that's true." Syrus nodded.
"So how do you two think Duel Academy will be like?" Jaden asked them curiously wondering to where what they think.
"I have a feeling it'll be quite the life changing experience, the knowledge we learn could allow us to become the next King of Games." Bastion mentioned.
"I agree. What bout you Sy?" Jaden asked him with a smile. "Do you have any desire to face Yugi?"
"Well yeah, even though I know I wouldn't stand a chance." Syrus admitted. "I barely managed to pass the entrance exam and Yugi's the King of Games, the greatest duelist ever."
"Well we will see cause here in Duel Academy we will test our metal." Jaden grinned to them.
"True, and it looks like we're about to take our first steps look down there." Bastion mentioned as they saw Academy Island getting closer.
They looked from the window seeing it while Jaden grinned, "This is gonna be sweet!"
Soon enough the helicarrier landed on the island. They exit the helicarrier where they see a group of staff handing blazars, and PDAs to students to settle there rank of dorm.
"All new students line up to receive your blazers." mentioned a staff member.
They walked together in lines getting there blazers, and PDAs by showing there identities. Then it came Jaden's turn who introduced himself, "Jaden Yuki."
The employee looked before blinking. "There must be a mistake, you failed your entrance exam."
Jaden frowned before he whispered into the employee's ear, "Without much detail, I was given a 'second chance' by Seto Kaiba to be a Slifer."
The employee looked at him skeptically.
"There was a small miscommunication, I'll handle it." mentioned a friendly voice as a bald man with a goatee walked over to them. "Carry on with the remaining students. Now young man please come with me."
The employee slowly nodded as Jaden shrugged before telling Bastion, and Syrus, "Well guess I'll see you two later."
They both nodded at that. With that Jaden followed the man while the students continued getting there Blazars, and ranks.
"You must be Jaden Yuki." the man mentioned when they were on their own. "I'm Chancellor Sheppard, the person who runs Duel Academy."
"Oh so your who Kaiba mentioned about." Jaden smiled hearing that.
"Yes, and I've been informed of your special circumstances for enrollment." Sheppard mentioned handing Jaden a red blazer and PDA. "I'll speak with the faculty about the mix-up with your test in the meantime feel free to go and speak with your new classmates."
"Okay thanks Chancellor." Jaden smiled taking them.
"What are YOU doing here!?"
Hearing that the two looked over seeing Dr. Crowler who was finding Chancellor Sheppard after being called for had just arrived, and was stunned seeing Jaden was there.
Jaden grinned waving, "Hey Teach! Bet you weren't expecting me here."
"Chancellor what is HE doing here?" Dr. Crowler asked Sheppard wanting an explanation why this slacker is here in Duel Academy. "He failed his Entrance Exam so he shouldn't be allowed to enroll here!"
"You mean the entrance exam you weighted against him by using your own personal deck instead of the regulation exam deck?" Sheppard asked calmly. "Well Crowler, I'd love to hear your explanation."
"Huh?" Dr. Crowler asked shocked wondering how he knew that.
"Whoa, so you weren't using a Test Deck on me? You must've really wanted to push me to see how strong I was. If it wasn't for me not getting Winged Kuriboh's effect right, and if it did work like I thought, I would've schooled ya, hahaha!" Jaden laughed rubbing his head telling them that.
"A-And how exactly would you think that! I totally had you trapped!" Dr. Crowler pointed out to him.
Jaden started to explain while showing him, and Sheppard the cards. "See my face-down was Hero Signal which if my monster was destroyed in battle, I can summon an Elemental HERO from my Deck namely Burstinatrix, and the card I would've drawn afterward was Skyscraper. But first I use the Warrior Returning Alive to add Avian back to my hand, and use him, and Burstinatrix to Fusion Summon one of my favorite heroes, the Elemental HERO Flame Wingman. Then I use Skyscraper to while it doesn't lower Golem's attack points it raises Wingman's by 1000 when it battles a stronger monster, and thanks to Wingman's super power, the attack points of your Golem weren't dealt to you as damage, sweet huh?"
"No way..." Dr. Crowler said in shock unwilling to believe that if Winged Kuriboh's effect actually worked like Jaden thought he would've lost pretty humiliatingly back there.
"So in short, because you only possessed your Winged Kuriboh for less than ten minutes you hadn't learned its effects yet. Though he has a point Crowler that move would have been enough to win the match." Sheppard noted. "You're more than welcome at Duel Academy Jaden."
"Well thanks for having me here." Jaden grinned from that.
Dr. Crowler growled not having any say in the matter before pointing out, "W-Well, I don't know how your able to still be here even if you lost, but let me make a single thing clear!" Jaden looked to him curiously before Dr. Crowler informed him. "No matter what kind of special favor or anything of sort gave you a spot here, I will not go easy on you at class, and treat you like any other student you got that?"
"Hey, I'm all hands down for that Teach. I wouldn't want you to treat me any different." Jaden said with a small grin fine with Dr. Crowler not treating him like anything special.
Dr. Crowler sighed shaking his head from this unable to believe he would have to put up with this kid for the next few years but will have to suck it up. With that in mind he turned to Chancellor Sheppard, "W-Well Chancellor if I may ask how did you knew I used my personal Deck instead of one of the Test ones?"
"I was told, by Seto Kaiba." Sheppard answered.
"Mr. Kaiba was there!?" Dr. Crowler asked stunned. "How come we weren't informed about this?"
"He wanted to observe how our entrance exams go after what happened last time. Do I have to remind you again?" Sheppard asked.
"Uh..." Dr. Crowler was sweating nervously remembering what happened. Cause of stupid reasons like either not getting his title right or mistaking him as a woman. Either way this is not looking good for him if Kaiba spectated personally.
"Well, excuse me..." they looked to Jaden who voiced, "This is starting to get heavy, and all... so I'm gonna go now, and look around Campus if that's okay with you two."
"Of course." Sheppard nodded with a smile. "I'm sure your classmates will be happy to get to know you Jaden."
"Okay. See you at class Teach!" Jaden waved to Dr. Crowler before running out.
"Don't run in the hall!" was Dr. Crowler's quick scolding as Jaden left the room.
A few minutes later...
Jaden was looking around amazed from how Duel Academy looks, and had entered a large arena, "Whoa this is a pretty slick Duel Arena. Maybe me, Sy, and Bastion will duel here? I mean, this is basically our campus."
(A/N (bopdog111): In canon he, and Syrus look around together but since Jaden was pulled away by Sheppard from that small incident, and while he was looking for Bastion, and Syrus he gotten lost, and forgot what he was doing.)
"What are you doing here?" questioned a male voice.
Hearing that he looked over on his right seeing two boys wearing blue blazers. One has tanned skin with short brown hair while the other has glasses, and light blue hair.
"Oh hey there, I was just taking a look around. Is this the area where we all duel in?" Jaden asked them with a grin.
"Is that a joke you Slifer scum, this is for Obelisk Blue students only." one of them mentioned.
"Obelisk?" Jaden asked confused before then remembering, "Oh yeah, Seto Kaiba used Obelisk the Tormentor, and it's suppose to be the highest ranking dorm here if I remember right."
"That's right, not where failures like you are supposed to be." mentioned a third voice. "You lost to Dr. Crowler, we all saw it."
Hearing that Jaden looked seeing the black haired boy was there wearing the same blazer sitting on some bleachers with crossed arms. Seeing him Jaden blinked, "And... who are you suppose to be?"
The two Obelisks below looked offended as one yelled, "What your mouth around him!"
Jaden raised his hands in surrender as the glasses Obelisk yelled, "His name's Chazz Princeton, and he is the No. 1 duelist back in prep school! So you make sure you give him the proper respect, got it?"
"Yeah, he's gonna be the future Kings of Game! The best duelist in the world!"
Jaden hearing that felt a sense of competition as he turned away with a grin crossing his arms. "Impossible."
"Oh, and how do you figure that?" Chazz questioned.
"Cause the one who'll be the King of Games is yours truly! I mean sure my first chance was lost from my loss against Teach, but thanks to a little 'second chance', I was able to start off here." Jaden grinned with a thumb towards him.
Both of the Obelisk Blues glanced at one another before they started crackling up with laughter.
Jaden blinked not sure what's no funny before they stopped where the glasses Obelisk said unamused, "A Slifer Sacker? King of Games? That'll be the day!"
'Slifer Slacker? Is that really a name?' Jaden thought confused hearing that. That was before he then shrugged with a grin, "Well I got an idea that'll make us all happy if your interested."
"Go ahead." Chazz mentioned while frowning. 'Second chance, who would give someone like him another chance?'
Jaden showed the Deck, Kaiba gave him, "You see someone special had given me this special Deck that hasn't been released yet. I haven't had a chance to take it for a spin yet. I mean we gotta start someplace right, and the Winged Kuriboh thing wasn't my best learning experience. So for my idea, how would you like to see how far this Deck can go with two people who are competing for the King of Games?"
"A deck that hasn't been released, fine I can always..." Chazz started.
"What are you three doing? You're going to be late for the welcome dinner." interrupted a female voice.
Hearing that they all looked over confused seeing who was walking in was Alexis who looked not in the least amused. Jaden blinked seeing her before he gained a little red tint in his cheeks, 'Whoa... she's pretty cute.'
Chazz smirked seeing her attempting to swoon her over. "Hey Alexis, you here to watch me mop the floor with my new friend?"
"Right, I came because you need to get back to the dorm for the welcome dinner." she answered before noticing Jaden. 'Huh, I thought he lost? I guess I can ask him later.' "You should head to the Slifer Red Dorm too."
"Oh, right. Come on, guys." Chazz jumped off his seat, successfully landing on the ground before he began to leave, the others with him following after him like dogs.
Jaden watched as they walked off before he turned to Alexis. "Well thanks for the heads up... But I don't really know where the Slifer Dorm is exactly. I kinda gotten lost looking for my friends."
"Really, well there's a map on your PDA." Alexis mentioned showing Jaden how to use it. "The Slifer Dorm is here."
Jaden blinked checking it, "Well duh, how come that slipped my mind?" He sighed rubbing his head before turning to Alexis, "Well thanks for that." He offered his hand with a grin, "I'm Jaden, Jaden Yuki."
"My name's Alexis Rhodes." she smiled taking it. "I'll see you later Jaden."
With that Alexis walked off.
With that Jaden retreated to where the PDA directed him. Arriving he blinked when he sees a two story apartment building. "Huh, this really the Slifer Dorm? Ah well, might as well live with it." He walked into the cafeteria where the Welcome Dinner was starting. "Sorry I'm late. Gotten lost on my way."
A man in glasses holding a cat only smiled. "That's quite alright, the island is quite fascinating and it is your first day. Please have a seat. Syrus, there's an extra bed in your room correct?"
"Yeah me, and Chumely have one last bunk." Syrus who was wearing a Red Blazer answered.
"Hey Sy!" Jaden took a seat beside him with a grin, "Looks like we're dorm buddies!" He looked around before asking him confused, "Where's Bastion?"
"Oh, he's in Ra Yellow." Syrus answered.
"Because unlike us he's not a "Red Wonder"." mentioned a large boy who looked like a koala. "And before you ask, it means "I wonder how a couple of dropouts like us even made it this far" we're the bottom of the barrel."
Unknown to them Jaden already knew Slifer was the lowest dorm since Kaiba told him.
"Yeah already knew that." Jaden shrugged before saying, "But hey the only way to move up the barrel is up, so let's try crawling our way up in these years okay?"
"That's a wonderful attitude to have, my name is Lyman Banner I'm in charge of the Slifer Dorm." the man with the cat smiled. "May I ask your name?"
"Jaden Yuki." Jaden answered with a grin waving.
"Well Jaden, make yourself at home." Professor Banner smiled.
Later that night...
Jaden was looking over his new Deck in his new room to be familiarized before his PDA ringed confusing him. He checks it where he sees a message of Chazz with a smirk. "Hey there Slifer Slacker, if you think your off the hook about that new Deck, your sorely mistaken. Meet me at the arena right now, and try to prove you have what it takes as the King of Games." The image vanished at that.
Jaden only grinned standing up, "Alright fine by me."
"Huh, Jaden?" Syrus asked hearing him. "What's going on?"
"Just got challenged by some Obelisk named Chazz I encountered earlier. You like to watch?" Jaden asked him with a grin.
"Oh... um, ok." Syrus nodded hesitantly before the two of them went to the arena Jaden found earlier in the day.
While walking together they found the arena, and entered where Chazz was waiting with his two Obelisk Cronies.
"So you didn't chicken out." Chazz smirked.
"I never run from a match Chazz. And besides a perfect test run for the new Deck." Jaden grinned showing the Deck before placing it on his Duel Disk.
"Please slacker, this won't take long." Chazz smirked activating his Duel Disk. "I'll take the first move."
"Fine by me." Jaden grinned from this while his Duel Disk activate, 'Okay guys let's see what kind of force you guys are that Kaiba trusted me with.'
"DUEL!"

"Okay my go!" Jaden drew. Before he can look at the card a voice caught there attention, "I had a feeling, I'd find you here."
They looked seeing Alexis walked in.
"Huh, hey Alexis." Chazz grinned. "Did you come to see me teach this slacker a lesson?"
"I'm more interested to see how this turns out." Alexis said annoyed with crossed arms.
Jaden watched before nodding as he looked at his hand. 'Whoo you all like exotic! Well if Kaiba trusts me with you guys, I'll depend on you all to help me out. Now let's go this together!'
"Well, we're all waiting." Chazz told him.
Jaden hearing that looked at his hand before then deciding, 'Okay before I tried that, I'll see what you can do.' Grabbing a card he placed it on his Duel Disk, "Okay, I'll summon out this mighty warrior! Gem-Knight Alexandrite!"
A portal appeared before what emerged was gem armored made knight. It was a white armored plated warrior that has several Alexandrite Gems over it's plated armor before it spin readying a pose.

"I told you before Chazz, it's a Deck that hasn't been released yet." Jaden grinned with a clench fist. "And his special ability is sweeter! By sacrificing himself he can summon another Gem-Knight from my Deck. But that monster has to be a Normal Monster."
Alexandrite clasp it's hands together before it shattered like a gem reforming as Jaden looked his Deck, and picked the card that's the strongest, "Gem-Knight Crystal!"
The reformed gems transformed into a second stronger knight. It has silver steel plated armor with a helmet that has a cover at the face while having a red feather tuff at the top of the head, and crystals on the shoulder plates, and chest, elbows, and sides.

"Alright Gem-Knight Crystal attack his face-down!" Jaden called as Crystal charged a crystal blast firing it at Chazz's face-down.
It was revealed to be zombie before shattering.

Chazz's eyes widened hearing that before smirking.

But I cannot summon non Gem-Knights for the rest of this turn, and if this card leaves the field, all the monsters it summons are destroyed." Jaden explained to Chazz.
"Fusion from your deck?" Chazz questioned in shock. "That isn't something that exists."
"Well it does now." Jaden grinned while taking his Deck checking them over, 'Okay which one of you can I summon...?' He checks over which monsters he should use for his Spell's effect to summon.
'Summon whatever you want slacker, my trap will take whatever you play.' Chazz thought with a smirk.
Soon after deciding he grinned, 'Alright I'll pick ya.' "I'll use Gem-Knight Amber with my Gem-Knight Sapphire!"
A yellow armored plated knight with two small glowing amber daggers while having ambers on it's armor with a white plated armored knight having a large armored neck with sapphires on it's armor appeared before fusing together.
"Knight of the Amber Stone! Fuse together with the Knight of the Sapphire Stone to form together into a electrifying sensation! Fusion Summon! Swoop in, Gem-Knight Prismaura!"
What rose up beside Crystal was a white armored plated knight gold linings around it while having gems on it's shoulders, and armor having a small round shield, and a large sapphire gem based lance readying.

"Not a bad monster, unfortunately it won't do me much good since I don't have any Gem-Knights but it does have the same attack points as your Crystal." Chazz smirked.
Jaden frowned, "Well I got more moves. One is a continuous trap called, Gemini Ablation!"

'Whoa, these cards are strong.' Alexis thought seeing that.
Crystal shot up with Iolite, and Alexandrite before they all fused together.
"Knights of the Crystal, Iolite, and Alexandrite Gemstones! Reform together into a Master of the Gemstone Knights to use the abilities of the earth! Fusion Summon! Level 9, Gem-Knight Master Diamond!"
What rose from behind Jaden was a large knight. It was a sliver steel plated knight with a curved horn helmet with a face covering, horned shoulder plates, and a red cape on him. In his hands was a large sword that like his armor has numerous gems that he holds in his hands with the tip in the ground.

"2900!" Chazz cried in shock.
"Ah ah it's not 2900 Chazz." Jaden grinned, "For every Gem in the graveyard, he gains 100 attack points! Go Gem Rollcall!"
Transparent versions of Alexandrite, Crystal, Iolite, and Amber all flew in Master Diamond's sword as it glowed.
Gem-Knight Master Diamond: (ATK: 2900 + (100 * 4) = 3300)
Everyone looked stunned seeing that.
"Where did you get cards that powerful?" Chazz questioned.
"Well let's say the person that gave me the second chance is really influential." Jaden grinned, "Alright Master Diamond attack Prismaura with Diamond Blade!"
Master Diamond raised it's sword running forward attacking Prismaura.
Chazz braced himself as the monster shattered.
(Chazz: 3150/Hand: 3)
"And don't forget you took Prismaura, which means it went to my graveyard so it gains 100 more points!" Jaden reminded as it glowed.
Master Diamond: (ATK: 3300 + 100 = 3400)
Chazz just looked at the field in disbelief before clenching his fists.
Suddenly Alexis heard someone approaching.
"Ah! We need to get going!" She quickly told them as Syrus, and Jaden looked over confused, "Duel after hours are forbidden, and let me guess Chazz didn't tell ya!"
Chazz blushed in embarrassment from being caught. He would continue the duel but not to risk his chance here at Duel Academy he has to call it quits, "W-Well it's over now!"
The cards vanished from this.

Duel Ended with No Result.
Jaden would've wanted to continue the duel but now's not the time to continue on. He lost his chance once, he rather not waste it again, and disappoint Kaiba. With that he frowned turning to Chazz, "This ain't over Chazz."
"Of course not, we'll settle this later." Chazz told him as everyone managed to get away before security caught them.
They exited with Alexis, Jaden, and Syrus there as Jaden sighed, "Well at least now I know what I'm working with."
"Yeah, an incredible deck." Alexis answered. "Where did you even get something like that?"
Jaden looked over to her, "Well it's something I can't say. But I got it while I gotten my second chance here at Duel Academy."
She looked curious but nodded. "Well, I'll see you later."
"You jealous?" Jaden couldn't help but tease her.
She turned back before rolling her eyes and walking off. Jaden watched before turning to Syrus, "Syrus you go on back, I gotta make a call."
"Huh, oh sure Jaden." Syrus nodded walking off.
Once he's gone Jaden takes out his cell phone, and called a number which looks random but is actually meant to fool who stole his phone. He placed it as it ringed.
"I'm listening." Kaiba answered after a few moments.
"Well had a eventual first day here. Met Chancellor Sheppard, and encountered teach who didn't think I be here. Then I gotten lost into Obelisk Arena where I met this guy named Chazz Princeton who is the top kid at a prep school, and his friends called me something called a 'Slifer Slacker'. Is that even a real name?" Jaden asked him.
"Slifer is the lowest dorm, did anything significant happen?" Kaiba asked him.
"Well I got challenged to a match a while ago by Chazz, and I tested the Gem-Knight Deck on him. It's really incredible, but Campus Security was heading over so we had to cancel before I can school him since Chazz left out that it's forbidden to duel at these hours." Jaden answered that question.
"So you're comfortable with the intricacies of your new cards then?" Kaiba asked him.
While not getting what that word means Jaden nodded answering. "Yeah, it's really strong. Where did you come up with something like it?"
"Later, I'll tell you later." Kaiba answered before Jaden heard something in the background. "I have to go, keep me informed of anything noteworthy... but not just your day to day life at Duel Academy."
With that he hung up the phone. Jaden looked at the phone before closing it, "So Kaiba will tell me when the time is right." He shrugged walking off back to the Slifer Dorm.
Ulrich362: Well, Jaden has two powerful Fusion Decks and seems to be getting the hang of his new cards pretty well.
bopdog111: So how did Kaiba came up with the Gem-Knights?
Ulrich362: Maybe we'll find at some point. That said, next up will be the return of Jaden's Elemental HERO cards to see how skilled he really is with them.
