Duel Academy, the school built by Seto Kaiba to foster a new generation of talented duelists is one of the greatest institutions in the world... that said, with the knowledge of three dangerous cards sealed under the school it might be a good idea if someone there was able to keep an eye on things and let Kaiba know what's going on at Academy Island. Perhaps, the young boy with the new Kuriboh monster? He'll need a special deck to use for emergencies but maybe this Jaden Yuki can keep Duel Academy running smoothly while enjoying his special entrance?

In the middle of the night Alexis was standing by herself outside of an old broken down building before putting down a rose in front of it.
'Be in peace brother... Wherever you are.' She thought looking over the building.
A faint breeze blew past as she said that.
Meanwhile in the Slifer Red Dorm...
"...And underneath the full moon, I see a path through the cavern that seems...abandoned..."
Syrus was currently telling Chumley, and Jaden all about a scary story. They were drawing cards, and whatever monster they drew, the higher the level, the more scary the story would be. They were all seated in the dining room, the candle being their only light source.
"Abandoned?" Jaden asked interested. "So then what happened?"
Syrus's expression grew more serious as his tone deepened, trying to set a scary setting. "Then, back at the cavern, I see a mysterious lake. So, I go in to look veeerrrryyy carefully...And, under just the right angle of light, at the very bottom of the lake, beyond my reflection, I see a rare and powerful card! Naturally, I'd go and get it, but when I reached for it... an arm grabs me, and tries pulling me towards the lake!"
Chumley, who had been sitting next to Syrus, freaked out and backed away real afraid.
"AAAAAHHH! HELP ME! NOT THE WATER! ANYTHING BUT THE WATER!" Syrus started clawing at the air to visualized the experience.
Jaden grinned leaning in close. "Aw, water's not so bad!"
Syrus dropped the act, looking curious. "Um... dirty swamp water?"
"Not really." Chumley laughed.
The blue-haired boy sighed disappointed from that. "Oh, you're right...Only a chump would be scared of that... Eh, no offense Chumley."
"Eh, none taken." Chumley mentioned shrugging. "Your turn Jaden."
"Gotcha." Jaden pulls a card showing Sinister Serpent, a Level 1.
"Oh, you lucked out. You hardly have to scare us with that card." Syrus sighed relieved.
Jaden shrugged. "Well, I think I have a story that'll be right."
"Go ahead Jay." Chumley mentioned at that.
"Well, it's more like a memory. Back when I was a little kid, I used to hear sounds, but I only hear them real late at night."
Flashback...
In a small room, completely covered in large blue bedsheets, a little boy about 5 or 6 years old was fully asleep, snoring peacefully as he moved closer to his soft, cloud-like pillow.
Suddenly, some light illuminated from her closet along with some strange noises. They were enough to wake up poor little Jaden, causing him to groan from the weird noises and light that woke him up.
A bit scared and curious, Jaden walked towards his closet. He twisted the knob and gently let the door open by itself. By the time he did, the voices and light were all gone. All that was left of the room was a minature slide, some toys scattered throughout the floor, and his cards in his card case.
Bending down, Jaden lowered his picked up his card case and lifting off the top of the case with one hand.
Flashback End...
Syrus and Chumley blinked, waiting for him to speak further. "...And then...?"
"Hmm...And, that's the end of the story!"
Both boys groaned in disappointment.
"Seriously, it ends at the most interesting part." Chumley frowned.
"Well do you at least remember what the card was you saw?" Syrus inquired hopefully for at least a little closure.
"Well no. But I lately been hearing those sounds again." Jaden admitted over.
"Hello students."
Jaden, Chumely, and Syrus jumped as the three turned to see it was Banner who was holding Pharaoh in his arms.
"I want to join in on the fright fest." Banner smiled.
"Oh, sure thing professor, we're taking turns drawing cards and the stronger the monster the scarier the story you have to tell." Jaden explained.
"Oh, well that sounds easy enough! Let's see..." Banner drew a card and flipped it over, which happened to be a Fusion Monster known as the Five-Headed Dragon which was a Level 12 Monster, the most high Leveled of them all.
"Oh man, that's as strong as monsters get, this is going to be really bad." Syrus panicked seeing the monster.
"Yeah, I think I'm done with this game." Chumley agreed nervously.
Banner chuckled, either oblivious to the boy's fear or just pretending to to tease the poor fellows. "What is wrong? Don't you want to hear about the abandoned dorm at the end of the island?"
"Abandoned Dorm?" Syrus and Chumley asked in confusion but Jaden's eyes shot open hearing that.
"Yes, I do professor Banner." Jaden mentioned quickly.
Banner begun to explain "Not many people talk about it, but there was once a special dorm set at the edge of the forest. It was shut down after several students mysteriously went missing."
Syrus gulped, a bit of sweat dripping from his forehead already. "Where'd they all go?"
"Well, that's the mystery of it all," Banner continued. "But the rumor was, it had something to do with...Shadow Games..."
Jaden froze at that. 'Shadow Games, is that what happened to Alexis's older brother Atticus? I think I should pay this dorm a visit tomorrow night.'
"But Banner... these things don't exist right?"
Banner chuckled over. "Well some people don't think about it but there are things that prove otherwise."
"What kinds of things?" Chumley asked nervously as he and Syrus were hiding under their blankets.
"Screams, dark portals, the Millennium Items, those things." Banner explained over.
Jaden frowned before smiling. "Oh come on Professor, that's just a rumor."
"I don't know Jaden." Banner admitted before standing up. "Well I best be getting to bed. Goodnight children."
"Goodnight professor." the three of them said though as he left Jaden frowned.
"I'm going to turn in early you guys, see you in the morning." he said walking over to lie down in his bed.
"See you Jaden."
Unaware to them Dr. Crowler was outside giddy madly. He figured that the only way to caught trouble for Jaden would be to figure out what he might be up to, and from here figured it be right that even someone like Kaiba can't protect Jaden for mingling with the Abandoned Dorm.
"This is just the opportunity I've been waiting for!" Dr. Crowler chuckled, grinning like a madman. 'I think the Shadow Games should make a comeback! Millennium Items and all!' He then started laughing like a wicked man.
Inside the city was two men dueling where it looks like one of them is losing badly. "O-Okay okay! Take anything you want just please don't hurt me!"
"What I want..." Spoke a man wearing a fedora while his Duel Disk looks like it's built in his body. He has on a black mask signaling he is a shady figure. "...Is your soul." While he said this he held up what looks like an Artifact as it glowed brightly.
His opponent begged, "No! Please show some mercy!"
"Some mercy..." The shady man trailed off before smirking, "What is that?" At that the artifact reacted as his opponent screamed leaving him gone. "Rest in peace... In the Shadow Realm..."
Hearing a phone ringing he said emotionless, "Speak..." Silence was on for a few minutes before he said, "Duel Academy... Tomorrow Night... I'll be there."
The next day at morning...
Dr. Crowler was teaching a class but he noticed Jaden seemed to not be paying any attention and didn't even have a paper to take notes.
(A/N (Ulrich362): Jaden would be sleeping but with everything he's learned recently sleep is the last thing on his mind.)
Dr. Crowler growled but slowly grinned over remembering a thought. 'Going through yet another class...But you'll have a make-up class soon enough...A lesson in the Shadow Games!'
Later that night...
Hiding near the lighthouse happened to be Dr. Crowler, waiting for his surprise guest to show. He had to make a few phone calls and call the right duelist for this special ocassion. Hearing footsteps approaching, Dr. Crowler turned around, grinning.
"So you're the one they call the 'Shadow Duelist!'" Dr. Crowler mentioned to where it was the man from last night walking over to him. Smoke started seeping from the Shadow Duelist's briefcase.
"Oh my, very impressive effects." Dr. Crowler grinned looking at the man's outfit from multiple angles. "Oh yes, you'll do very nicely."
"What's the job?" the man questioned bluntly.
Clearing his throat Dr. Crowler gave him the assignment. "I want you to fright someone so intensely, that he leaves this Academy and never comes back! Up to the challenge?"
"Consider it done." the man told him. "The Shadows will eagerly accept another sacrifice."
He retreated into the smoke for his task while Dr. Crowler blinked over before shrugging over walking off to let him handle things.
Meanwhile at another part of the island...
"You know you two didn't had to come. I mean we could get lost." Jaden spoke with Chumley, and Syrus as they held flashlights.
"Well, if we get lost isn't it better if we're all together?" Syrus asked him.
"Yeah, plus we might find some dirty water." Chumley teased making Syrus pout.
'I appreciate what they're doing, but this is probably too dangerous for them, if it is connected to the Shadow Games and your brother Alexis... I have to let Kaiba know about it.' Jaden thought.
Suddenly hearing a twig snap Syrus, and Chumley jumped as Jaden shined his flashlight at what it was which was Alexis having another rose, and flashlight herself.
"Alexis?" Jaden asked seeing her only to frown. "Are you ok?"
Alexis walked over to the Slifer Red group. "That's funny. I was about to ask you guys the very same thing."
"That's um…" Syrus started only for Jaden to frown.
"I'm going to the abandoned dorm… Syrus and Chumley decided to come with me." he told her calmly.
Alexis' look softened over. "You did say before you would help me out Jaden. Thank you."
"Of course." he smiled softly noticing the rose. "Is that for him?"
Alexis looked at it with a small tear. "Yeah."
"You want me to keep you company?" Jaden offered gently. "Or, is it something you want to do by yourself?"
She looked over to him before nodding. "Thank you."
Jaden smiled gently offering his hand as he turned to Syrus and Chumley. "I'll see you guys back at the dorm, ok?"
The two looked at each other before Syrus turned over. "Well... you two be careful."
"We will be." Jaden nodded as Syrus and Chumley walked off before he sighed. "Is there anything I can do for you Alexis?"
"Just follow me." Alexis requested over.
Nodding he took her flashlight and walked with her before they reached a statue as Alexis tearfully put the rose in front of it. Jaden looked at the statue.
"Is that... a memorial to the missing students?" Jaden asked. "They could still be out there somewhere Alexis."
"I'm not sure we can even find them... I know we can but... I don't know where to look." Alexis admitted wiping her eyes with her arm.
"We'll figure it out together." Jaden reassured her before embracing Alexis gently. "I promise."
Alexis turned before smiling tearfully hugging him back.
"I should probably check inside, if I see anything I'll let you know... ok?" he asked softly.
"Just... be careful." she requested him.
"I will be." Jaden smiled turning and heading into the abandoned dorm as he swapped his Elemental HERO cards for the Gem-Knights.
Alexis was staring from the statue worried for Jaden's safety. 'I hope you know what your doing Jaden...' Suddenly a figure stepped in front of her as she yelped seeing it was the Shadow Duelist that was with Dr. Crowler. Then a feminine scream pierce through the cold nightly air signaling the Shadow Duelist had kidnapped her.
Meanwhile in the Dorm...
"Huh, what?" Jaden questioned hearing the scream as he ran back to the entrance. "Alexis!"
The door magically shut closed trapping him inside. Widening his eyes he turned back. "Who's there?"
"You want your friend?" a voice echoed. "Then come get her." Some doors opened up down a path.
Frowning Jaden ran down the path quickly to try and reach Alexis. He ran deeper into the dorm making it to a large room only to see she was in a demon like coffin knocked out.
"Alexis!" Jaden cried starting to run to the coffin.
Suddenly he heard some laughing looking around seeing no-one. "She can't hear you... She's locked away in the Shadow Realm..."
"Who are you!?" Jaden questioned looking around to try and find the person who was laughing. "What did you do to Alexis, and to the others who vanished here?"
Shadows rose to reveal the Shadow Duelist as he looked over with a smirk. "Your worst nightmares coming true."
Jaden's eyes widened in awe seeing him only to frown. "Who are you, and how is this dorm connected to the Shadow Games?"
"My name is Titan, and I had been here to take unfortunate souls to the Shadow Realm with our lives at stake. And you will be next if you want to save your friend here." the Shadow Duelist, Titan smirked over towards him.
Jaden frowned. "Fine Titan, let's duel!"
Titan smirked over as his Duel Disk which is a part of his body unfolded activating. Jaden while activating his Duel Disk looked over towards Alexis. "Don't worry Alexis... I'll get you out."
"DUEL!"

Quickly inserting the Spell Card right into some sort of slot, the slot began filling up with light that illuminated the entire room. Jaden had to shield this eyes from the light. When it faded he glanced around, noticing that around him were gargoyle-like statues, and large centipede statues sticking in the walls, emitting a sense of fear, while the ground stood as some sort of rocky-like spider web.
"I'll get to the details of this field spell soon enough, but for now I'll set this card facedown and summon my Shadowknight Archfiend in attack position!" Titan declared as a fiendish knight rose up.

Any battle damage this card inflicts to your opponent is halved.
"That ends my turn."
Titan's Hand: 2/Field: Pandemonium (Field Zone), Shadowknight Archfiend (Attack Position), One Set Card
Jaden 1st Turn:
Jaden looked at his hand for the Gem-Knights since this is the first serious duel he is getting into with this Deck. So long as he remembers what he can do, he'll be okay. So he first starts with a simple move. "I'll summon Gem-Armadillo!"
An armadillo rose up orange like gemstones on it's body.

"Since I had summoned him, I take a Gem-Knight to my hand." Jaden explained as he searches his Deck, and added a card.
Titan only watched calmly.
"Next I'll use Gem-Knight Fusion!" Jaden activated the spell.
Gem-Knight Fusion

Fusion Summon 1 "Gem-Knight" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or your side of the field as Fusion Materials. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can banish 1 "Gem-Knight" monster from your Graveyard; add this card to your hand.
"So now I Fusion Summon a Gem-Knight using monsters on my field or my hand." Jaden explained over.
Titan frowned hearing that. "What are you summoning then?"
"Well as I have my added card Gem-Knight Sapphire, and fusing it with Gem-Knight Tourmaline it's a new monster!" Jaden raised his Duel Disk up as Sapphire, and Tourmaline fused together.
"Knight of the Sapphire Gemstone! Become one with the Knight of the Tourmaline Genstone to join as the ground tanking force! Fusion Summon! Come on, Gem-Knight Amethyst!"

"That monster is weaker than my Archfiend." Titan smirked. "I thought you would have an impressive move but it seems I was mistaken."
"Well good thing that's only starting." Jaden stated over. "First is Gem-Knight Fusion's effect! By banishing Sapphire from the graveyard, I can take it back to my hand." He shows the spell as he said that.
Titan frowned at that. "So you can summon another Fusion Monster?"
"Yeah! This time with Garnet in my hand with Amethyst!"
Garnet rose up fusing with Amethyst.
"Knight of the Garnet Gemstone! Mingle with the Knight of the Amethyst Gemstone to form together into a powerful powerstone worth of the Gem! Fusion Summon! Emerge from the ground, Gem-Knight Ruby!"

"Giving up on your Fusion Monster already, you could have just summoned your stronger monster immediately." Titan pointed out.
Suddenly his face-down vanished back to his hand.
"What?" he questioned. "What did you just do?"
"There was a reason I fused Amethyst away! When sent to the graveyard from the field, there ability returns all set Spell, and Traps back to the hand!" Jaden revealed over.
"But that leaves my Shadowknight completely defenseless!" Titan cried in shock.
"Exactly! Ruby attack Shadowknight Archfiend!"
Ruby charged in at Shadowknight where the fiend tried to parry but Ruby knocked it's away away before striking down on him. The monster shattered as Titan cried out only for Jaden to notice part of his body begin fading. Jaden widen his eyes seeing it.
(Titan: 3500/Hand: 3)
"Weren't you listening, this is a Shadow Game." Titan mentioned taking out an upside down golden pyramid with an eye on it. "As we lose our Life Points we get swallowed up by the Shadows."
"A Millennium Item?" Jaden asked shocked.
"Exactly, and while you may have a temporary advantage in this duel... I'll be the one who emerges victorious." Titan smirked.
Jaden grunted from this. "Well I still have an attack Gem-Armadillo!"
The armadillo charged in to tackle Titan.
Titan groaned as he was hit.
(Titan: 1800/Hand: 3)

"When Ruby attacks a monster in defense position the difference gets dealt to you!" Jaden revealed.
"What?" Titan cried as his monster was destroyed.
(Titan: 0800/Hand: 2)
"And now finish him Gem-Armadillo!"
The Armadillo charged in towards Titan.
"I play the trap card Archfiend's Roar!" Titan cried quickly.

Armadillo stopped over as Jaden activated his face-down. "Then I use Pyroxene Fusion!"

"Fusion again?" Titan cried in shock.
This time both Ruby, and Armadillo fused together.

Jaden wins!
Jaden blinked looking around before suddenly looking over. "Alexis!" He ran over towards her passing Titan's unconscious form.
Groaning she slowly opened her eyes. "Jaden...?"
He gets her out before checking over her. "Are you alright?"
"I... I think so, he grabbed me and put a cloth over my mouth and nose... where are we?" she asked.
"I think the basement of the Abandoned Dorm." Jaden admitted over looking around. "Whatever the case we should go. I'll take you back to the Girl's Dorm."
Alexis nodded before pausing. "Should you tell Kaiba about what happened?"
"Yeah. We both do." As they moved to get out of the Dorm he pulled out his phone setting it on speaker as it rang.
"Yuki, what's going on?" Kaiba's voice questioned. "Do you have any idea what time it is?"
"Just needed to inform that a real emergency happened a few minutes ago." Jaden explained over to him. "Nothing involving the Sacred Beasts but it was something with the Shadow Games or what it seemed like."
There was a brief pause before... "I'm listening, tell me everything."
"Well there was this guy called Titan. He came onto here, and was at the Abandoned Dorm. He kidnapped one of my classmates, and wanted me to confront him to a Shadow Game. I used the new Deck, and defeated him though the Millennium Item he had was a fake which meant the Shadow Game we were at was an illusion. But I don't know if he's connected to the missing students at the Abandoned Dorm."
"I see, the Millennium Items are all buried in Egypt so it was likely a fake... though if it is related to the Shadow Games you need to pay close attention to..." Kaiba started only to pause. "Your classmate was kidnapped? Where is he now?"
"Titan is back at the Abandoned Dorm unconscious. I think he'll leave after that defeat I gave him." Jaden admitted over to him. "And for the classmate she's right beside me right now. I'm taking her back to the Dorms, and she knows the truth."
"I see, well I'll assume you trust her. Keep an eye on this abandoned dorm and these missing students." Kaiba mentioned to Jaden before hanging up.
Jaden pocketed the phone turning to Alexis. "Well now let's get you to safety." She softly nodded before shuddering which he looks worried. "Hey... what's wrong?"
"Sorry it's just... I never been scared like that before."
He frowned over before he then asked. "You need me to stay with you tonight again?"
Alexis looked down before nodding. "Yeah, I think so."
So they arrived at the Girl Dorms where Fonda was talking to Jasmine, and Mindy before they noticed them as Fonda widen her eyes. "Alexis!" She ran over checking her. "You didn't came here when curfew happened where we're you?" She then blinked surprised seeing Jaden. "And... why is this boy with you?"
Knowing that he can't spout they were at the Abandoned Dorm unless they want to get in trouble despite the circumstances Jaden explained over to her. "Some creep kidnapped Alexis. I gotten her out of there, and brought her back. But she wants me to spend another night since she needs some comfort."
Fonda blinked turning to Alexis for some truth.
"It's true... it was, a pretty unsettling experience." Alexis answered.
Fonda frowned before sighing. "Alright. But no funny business alright?"
"Of course not, I just want to make sure she's ok... that guy might have drugged her or something... when I found them she was out cold... that's chloroform right?" Jaden asked. "I just don't think I should leave her alone after that."
"Well get to bed." Fonda instructed walking off as Jasmine, and Mindy walked over.
"Much more then a checkin huh?" Jasmine asked Alexis who slowly nodded. "Well all that matters is you okay Lex."
"Tell us if you need anything." Mindy smiled before she, and Jasmine walked off.
Jaden offered a hand to Alexis.
She slowly took it as they walked upstairs to Alexis's room.
Ulrich362: Well then... that was a duel... but Jaden managed to beat Titan.
bopdog111: If you guys were expecting me sorry but Titan's not interesting.
Ulrich362: Well... not yet anyway, he might get his revenge though. Also you might have noticed Syrus and Chumley didn't go to the Abandoned Dorm... that's going to be significant.
bopdog111: But make no mistake a certain Tag Team Duelists will still be here.
Ulrich362: True, only with a different pair of opponents. But first things first, well let's just save that for next time. See you in the next chapter.
bopdog111: Be sure to review!
