Summary:
Duel Academy, the school built by Seto Kaiba to foster a new generation of talented duelists is one of the greatest institutions in the world... that said, with the knowledge of three dangerous cards sealed under the school it might be a good idea if someone there was able to keep an eye on things and let Kaiba know what's going on at Academy Island. Perhaps, the young boy with the new Kuriboh monster? He'll need a special deck to use for emergencies but maybe this Jaden Yuki can keep Duel Academy running smoothly while enjoying his special entrance?

It was a normal day at Gym Period where several students Jaden, and Syrus included were playing baseball, and now it's Syrus' turn to be the batter. The pitcher got ready before he throw the ball. Syrus tried to swing the bat but he ended up striking out as he frowned. "Oh man... I knew that would happen..."
"Change teams!" Miss Fontane called for them.
They nodded as they switched places.
Soon it was Jaden's turn to be the batter as Syrus called, "Jay! Keep your eye on the ball!"
"That could be tough! After all, the balls gonna be over the raptors! He'll score, then he'll score, and then I'll score!" Jaden grinned holding the bat, "We'll have a six run lead!"
"Hold on, time out!" Bastion's voice called as he ran onto the field. "Sorry, I was deep into some attack point quantum mechanics and lost track of time."
"Can you throw?" one of them asked.
"Sure."
"Well we need a new arm. Pitcher change! Get in here!"
With that both Bastion, and Ra's pitcher changed places as Jaden grinned pointing the bat at Bastion, "This is no written exam Bastion! I hope you know what your doing!"
"Trust me, I've done all the calculations Jaden." Bastion replied as fiery aura appeared around him. "Now get ready for some heat, this one's coming in red hot."
Jaden only grinned and tightened his grip on the bat.
"I hope you're ready for something with some bite!"
Bastion threw the ball as the image of a tiger seemed to appear over it as it flew towards Jaden.
"Strike one!"
This happened two more times striking Jaden out as he cried, "Nuts!"
Soon after they played a few more as Jaden was the fast pitcher as he manged to pitch a Yellow out as the Empire called, "Ball, take your base!"
"Time!" Syrus called as he went over to Jaden, "Jaden what's going on? You got two outs, and walked the last three batters."
Jaden chuckled, "Pretty slick huh? How else would I get a chance to pitch Bastion?"
"What, you mean you walked all those guys, just so you could get even with Bastion?" Syrus cried in shock.
"No, I don't just want to get even. I want to get ahead!" Jaden answered before looking over at Bastion. "You hear that buddy? You're going down."
"Down the base paths perhaps." Bastion chuckled picking up his bat as Syrus ran to play catcher. "Now give me your best Jaden, I don't want to hear any excuses... after I wallop it out of the ball park."
"Game on!" Jaden grinned.
"Game over soon!" Bastion grinned.
Jaden then threw the ball declaring, "Now here's some fight for ya!"
While that was happening Dr. Crowler was walking down a path from the court seething, "Ooooh! The Paradox Brothers couldn't beat Jaden, Chazz couldn't beat Jaden, and those others couldn't get rid of Jaden! I need to find someone who can beat-GAH!"
He didn't noticed the ball was hit hard by Bastion, and the force was enough to get him to fly to the equipment burying him. Everyone stared in shock seeing that. Jaden, and Syrus were running over as Jaden called, "Uh... heads up."
To their horror, and shock what emerged was an enraged Dr. Crowler who has the ball in his left eye, "YOU! Well of course, who else can cause intense pain!?"
"Wow, now that's keeping your eye on the ball." Syrus shuddered seeing that.
"Sorry Dr. Crowler, it was..." Jaden started as Bastion was running up to them.
"My fault." he called out. "I was the one who hit the ball."
Dr. Crowler looked over widening his eye, "Bastion? Of course here I was struggling to find a new accomplice, and here it smacks me right at the face. Well the eye actually but that's really beside the point."
"Are you alright?" Bastion asked him.
"Oh don't worry about me, I had been meaning to have my contacts refitted for ages, and now I have the perfect excuse." Dr. Crowler grinned before adding to himself, "And the perfect new prodigy."
He then snapped at Jaden, and Syrus, "Alright you two caused enough trouble now shoo, shoo, shoo!"
"Fine... but that was a foul Bastion." Jaden mentioned as he and Syrus ran off.
"Never mind those two Slifer Slackers, it's time you started consorting with those more your class don't you think?" Dr. Crowler asked Bastion with a smirk. "It's time you started consorting with me."
Later in Class Chazz arrogantly took his seat. "You two, foot rub and iced tea, now."
"Get it yourself." an Obelisk Blue told him.
"Huh?" Chazz blinked sitting forward. "What was that?"
With that the Obelisks started to talk to themselves, "Doesn't he know?"
"Guess not."
An Obelisk walked over to Chazz who turned over before the Obelisk asked him. "Chazz, where do you think your sitting?"
"My seat." Chazz answered with a 'that's obvious' tone with a glare.
"Sorry but that's not your seat anymore. Now move!" the Obelisk demanded.
Chazz growled angered not sure why there treating him like a Slifer Slacker. He's an Obelisk Blue goddamn it, one of the elites! "What are you talking about? Of course this is my seat, it said so right here-HUH!?" His eyes widen in horror seeing that his name on his desk was replaced with another name.
"Sorry Chazz but you were moved way over there." the Obelisk smirked pointing to where the Ra Yellows, and Slifer Reds were gathered. Of course to Obelisks that part of the room is disgraceful.
"No, this is all wrong!" Chazz yelled with horror evident on his face, and tone, "I don't belong there with those losers!" Seeing Dr. Crowler now spotting a black eye walking in Chazz called over to get to the bottom of this while not asking about the eye. "Dr. Crowler! Tell everyone this is a mistake! Tell them, I belong up here!"
"But you don't." Dr. Crowler told him revealing a black eye. "And you haven't since you lost that one duel to who was it, ah I remember Jaden Yuki. A SLIFER! Which is why tomorrow you will duel Bastion Misawa and if you lose to him as well you two will switch dorms!"
"Wh... you mean, I'd become a Ra Yellow duelist!?" Chazz cried before glaring. "That has to be a joke, that slacker Jaden has Seto Kaiba backing him up!"
"Yes very good only if you duel as well as you listen." Dr. Crowler said sarcastically while clapping. "And although he does have Mr. Kaiba on his back, he is still lower ranked then you so of course your skills are still being questioned with your less then satisfying record."
That commit caused everyone in the Obelisk Dorm to start laughing at poor Chazz from the news.
Chazz looked horrified at that as he ran from the classroom as the laughter of all the other students echoed in his head.
"I won't be a Ra!" he cried out.
Later Jaden, Syrus, and Bastion were walking to the Ra Yellow dorm.
"Ok, maybe it wasn't a foul Bastion." Jaden relented.
"Jaden, over the centerfield fence usually isn't." Syrus pointed out.
"Well now I want you two to assist me in something." Bastion takes out his bat which they noticed some written formulas on it that they didn't notice before as they walked over to his dorm room.
"See, I find that science, statistics, geometry, they play a role in everything that we do in life." he explained.
"Wow, I never looked at it that way." Jaden admitted.
"So, do you have a formula for everything Bastion?" Syrus inquired only for him to laugh.
"Not yet." Bastion opened his dorm room as they looked around seeing formulas everywhere. "See I find that Science, Statistics, Geometry, they are a role for everything we do in life." He gestured over to different areas. "Welcome to my Lab, my Workshop, my Dorm Room. That area is for Traps, that's for Spell Cards, and that's well... You get the idea." He turned over raising his arms around the room. "Most of these I memorized, and as you all can see I'm running out of room so..."
"So what?" Syrus, and Jaden asked in sync.
Grabbing a paint bucket of white paint, and some paint thinner Bastion grinned, "So mind helping?"
Jaden soon was using white paint over some formulas on the ceiling as Bastion was scrubbing the floor and Syrus was working on a wall.
"Check it out, I'm Michelangelo." Jaden mentioned causing them all to laugh. "Get it, because I'm painting on the ceiling."
Unfortunately as he spun he lost his balance and fell from the ladder as his paint brush hit Syrus in the face. Once he gotten up getting his vision straightened out Syrus looked over at Jaden with a stare. "You do realize this means war Jay."
Nervous from where this is going Jaden tried to make peace. "Now look Sy it was an accident!" But seeing Syrus readying the bucket made him yell out while Bastion looks over deciding to stop this.
"That's enough, give me that paint!" Jaden ducked down when Syrus threw the paint which collided with Bastion drenching him white. Seeing this Jaden began laughing hilariously seeing Bastion covered in white paint.
"Funny is it?" Bastion questioned smacking Jaden with the rag he was holding and covering him in paint.
Shaking his head with a glare Jaden stared at Bastion and started using a paint brush like a rapier to hit him but Bastion kept dodging as Syrus lifted a bucket to dump on Jaden's head.
Later...
Jaden with Syrus after cleaning up from all the painting were in Ra Yellow's cafeteria with Bastion dining down for dinner to rest up, and allow Bastion's room to dry after having such a fun experience.
"I don't think I ever have such a fun time painting!" Jaden grinned with his mouth half full. "Hey you're alright Bastion."
"Yeah, and so is Ra Yellow's food." Syrus added as Bastion looked over to them.
"Oh, you flatter us, but I'm sure it's not that much better than Slifer's." Bastion admitted walking over to sit with them revealing a lobster on his plate.
"You kidding? You guys don't have cockroaches in your rooms, and don't have moldy walls." Syrus admitted over to Bastion. "Being here is like a dream while the Slifer Dorm is a nightmare!" He then froze saying over. "N-Not that life at Slifer is all bad it's good to live at, I just meant that..."
"Oh that reminds me." Jaden interrupted. "What were you talking with Dr. Crowler about when Sy and I left Bastion? It sounded kind of important."
"Ah yes, apparently he wants me to test to qualify for Obelisk Blue." Bastion answered.
"Seriously?" Jaden asked hearing that.
"So that's why you wanted to clean your room, because you're switching dorms?" Syrus inquired.
"I'm not sure, he wants me to duel an Obelisk before the moving can be clear, I am just having it painted on so that I can have more room around." Bastion admitted.
"That makes sense, but if you ask me you definitely deserve it." Syrus smiled.
"Yeah, I saw your entrance exam you beat the duel proctor no problem." Jaden smiled.
"You flatter me." Bastion smiled. "Although while my room dries off, I need someplace to stay in."
"Huh, you mean you need to stay with one of your dorm mates or..." Syrus started only for his eyes to widen. "Huh, wait you mean us?"
"Of course, if you two don't mind having me." Bastion confirmed with a nod.
"Of course not, you're more than welcome." Jaden smiled.
That night at the Obelisk Blue Dorm Chazz was talking to someone.
"Got it Chazz?" the male voice questioned.
"Yeah." Chazz frowned.
"I can't hear you."
"I said yes, I understand." Chazz repeated.
"Well you better the Princeton Brothers have a plan." the one with the goatee stated. "Your brother, and I are following through our ends of it."
"And you had better be following through with your's Chazz." the smooth hair one added before saying, "C'mon just think of it little bro. The World of Politics, Finance, and Duel Monsters."
"And if control them all then we will control the entire world!" the goatee man smirked.
"So be the best." the smooth haired man instructed.
"The future of the Princeton Family depends on it. It depends on you." the goatee man added before they logged out.
Chazz stared at the screen before walking over to a window.
'Be the best? How can I be the best with lucky punks like them out there?' he thought looking out as he saw something. 'What's this, Bastion's heading off to the Slifer Dorm for the night? But then his dorm room will be all empty...'
His eyes widened at that thought. Smirking getting an idea for the chance to sabotage Bastion's chances he made up his mind, and turned exiting the dorm.
In Jaden, Chumley, and Syrus's dorm room Jaden and Bastion were both lying in bed and snoring.
"Hey Sy, what's the Ra doing here?" Chumley questioned.
"He painted his room today, so we let him crash here for the night." Syrus explained.
"But Syrus, he's a Ra Yellow. What if he wakes up and wants to duel one of us, or make fun of one of us?" Chumley asked him. "How do you know we can trust him?"
"Relax Chumley, he's cool. He let us eat at the Ra Yellow meal hall." Syrus told him.
"Oh he did? Was it good?" Chumley asked him.
"Yeah, it was amazing." Syrus smiled.
"He can have my bed then if he's willing to do something like that." Chumley mentioned.
Meanwhile Chazz had snuck into the Ra Yellow Dorm only to notice Bastion's deck was on in the hallway.
The next morning...
Knock Knock Knock
"Jaden! Jaden, wake up!"
Jaden opened the door to show a woman that has on glasses, and has a brown braid over her right shoulder, "What's up Miss Dorothy?"
"I was at the Docks unloading some goods near the shore then I saw them! Cards tossed everywhere!" Miss Dorothy explained.
"Tossed!" Jaden cried in shock before running to the docks with Syrus and Bastion.
"Ah... careful now boys!" Miss Dorothy told them.
Soon arriving Jaden's eyes widened. "Ah, that's Destruction Ring."
"And Vorse Raider." Syrus added seeing the cards floating in the water.
"Bastion, these are all your cards."
"It's my own fault, I left this deck in the desk we moved to the hallway while we were painting." Bastion frowned.
"But who threw your cards in the water?" Syrus asked wondering who would do such a thing.
Jaden already has a clear idea who it might be. "Someone who doesn't want Bastion to advance might be who!"
"Oh man, what are you going to do Bastion, your promotion exam is in less than an hour!" Jaden mentioned as Bastion frowned looking at the floating deck.
Later Bastion, Jaden, and Syrus were running to the stadium where Chazz and Dr. Crowler were waiting.
"Bastion you've made it!" Dr. Crowler smirked, "Oh, and I've see you've brought some friends."
"I hope you duel better then the company you keep." Chazz smirked.
Jaden realized, "Wait a sec Chazz is your test opponent? Then he must've been the one who tossed your cards Bastion!"
"Pardon?" Dr. Crowler asked surprised at that.
"I don't know what he's talking about Dr. Crowler." Chazz told him, "I didn't do a thing."
"Oh is that so?" asked a voice as they turned to see Alexis and Zane arrive.
"Huh, Zane and Alexis?" Jaden asked seeing them only to blush a bit and smile.
Alexis smiled slightly at Jaden before frowning. "I saw you by the water this morning Chazz. You dumped in some cards and ran off."
"Who's to say I wasn't throwing away my own cards?" Chazz shrugged over still in denial. "I guess Bastion, and I have similar Decks that's all."
"Regardless of who's cards you threw away we have business to attend to Chazz." Bastion pointed out.
"How do you attend to duel without a Deck?" Chazz smirked to him.
"Simple. A Duelist always knows when to have a second deck. You all saw my Formulas... For these!" Bastion declared as he reveals under his blazer to the shock of everyone are six decks, "And each one of them is as powerful as the next!"
"Huh, well you can go ahead and have your six stinking decks." Chazz frowned as he took out his own cards figuring if his plan to sabotage Bastion didn't work he can just defeat him like the low-class duelist he was. "Because all I need is this one! Now let's start this!"
"I thought that you would never ask." Bastion nodded as he took out one of his decks and put it in his Duel Disk. "Duel Disk on. You're just a problem to be solved Chazz, a theorem to be cracked you're finished."
Chazz just smirked activating his Duel Disc.

Brown water appeared before a dinosaur made of that water appeared roaring.

"Not bad." Zane commented as everyone else looked nervous seeing that.
"Bastion sure walked right into that one." Jaden admitted.
"I activate a special ability of my own, you see when Hydrogeddon destroys a monster in battle Chazz I can summon an additional copy from my deck so rise up another Hydrogeddon!" Bastion revealed as an identical monster appeared.

"Bastion's lost nearly half his life points." Syrus panicked seeing that.

"That damage is still going all to you!" Chazz called over.

"Why did he keep attacking? He's hurting himself." Syrus asked worried.
"That's true, but with the other soldiers gone Chazz's third monster gets weaker." Zane told him as the stronger soldier shrunk down.

"Now, my third Hydrogeddon attacks your last Soldier, Hydro Gust!" Bastion called.
The third charged in blasting over destroying the soldier which Chazz steps back. (Chazz: 0600/Hand: 3) And the sword from the destroyed soldier charges in on Bastion.

Chazz started laughing wickedly as what emerged from the flames behind Chazz was a giant bug like armadillo with a upper human body where the head should be.

Chazz started to laugh. "No formulas for this guy, too bad because he's about to wipe you out. For every one of your monsters my Infernal Incinerator gains 200 points."

"That thing's powerful enough to wipe out Bastion in one blast!" Jaden cried.
"Now attack Infernal Incinerator!" Chazz called as the monster fired flames.

"And since the amount of monsters on my field decreased, your monsters attack points also decrease!" Bastion called over pointing at Infernal Incinerator who weakened but not by much.

"Doesn't matter because it's still stronger." Chazz smirked.
"Better check again, because I've already done all the math!" Bastion declared. "I have this all planned from the start." That was before Water Dragon summoned a tsunami that engulfed Infernal Incinerator causing it to roar in pain.

"No it's attack points..." Chazz trailed off seeing this shocked.
"You mean Bastion had this planned from the start?" Jaden cried in shock.
"Indeed, you see Water Dragon's special ability reduces the attack points of all FIRE or Pyro monsters to zero, now Water Dragon destroy Infernal Incinerator with Tidal Blast!" Bastion called as his monster fired a blast of water destroying Infernal Incinerator.

"A well played duel Chazz but not enough." Bastion told him walking over.
Chazz glared over unable to believe he lost. "Pure luck! You drew a lucky card, and stumbled into the wind!"
"Perhaps but luck favors the prepared, and I was prepared to beat you with a half dozen cards as well. Sorry you would've lost the duel one way or another. But deny it all you want. Just like you deny throwing my deck into the ocean."
"Yeah prove it."
"Well if you insist. Here. A card I fished out." Bastion reaches into a pocket pulling out his Vorse Raider that has a scientific formula on it. "With a formula I wrote on it. I suppose you could've written it, but the math would probably have been wrong, and it's not. Chazz, you lied, you stole, you cheated, and you lost. You deserved to be demoted."
From that Chazz his pride wounded, and broken dropped on all fours in despair. "This can't be..." His brothers will definitely not be happy about this wondering what he can do now.
"Congratulations Bastion you are now officially an Obelisk Blue." Dr. Crowler said calmly.
"No. I must decline that invitation." Bastion however has different goals in mind.
"What? But what for?" Dr. Crowler asked in shock.
"When I first arrived at Duel Academy I decided I would only join Obelisk Blue when I became the number one duelist in the freshman class." Bastion explained before turning to Jaden. "Of all the new freshman Jaden, I believe that's you."
"Really, thanks." Jaden grinned.
"Him, but he didn't even pass the exam. He had to get special permission to even enroll... you're clearly better than he is." Dr. Crowler pointed out. "True Mr. Kaiba gave him special permission to enroll but you still performed far better than him."
"The fact that he obtained that permission is proof of his talents and he's shown nothing but skilled dueling since he arrived." Bastion admitted praising Jaden's dueling skill.
"Sweet, so does that mean you want to throw down right now?" Jaden grinned.
"Sorry, but not right now." Bastion declined.
"Huh?" Jaden asked in confusion.
"I have a lot of work to do before I duel you. Many formulas to write, theorems to solve, and equations to balance." Bastion explained with a grin. "Your a good duelist, and I plan to be ready."
"Smart move." Jaden grinned as meanwhile Chazz was on his hands and knees looking down.
"He didn't need to prepare for me, he won with just a single day's notice." Chazz frowned.
"Don't you worry Jaden, soon my dorm room walls will be filled with new strategies. We will have our duel, just don't be upset when it ends the same way our ball game did where you struck out." Bastion grinned.
"Keep dreaming, baseball's a fun pastime but dueling's my life." Jaden grinned back. "Until then pal."
"Right, until then it is." Bastion agreed as they both gained fiery auras with the image of a tiger appearing behind Bastion as a dragon appeared behind Jaden both ready for the battle.
bopdog111: That came smooth probably cause the duel is almost completely possible to do it canon wise as Amorphous Barrier is the only card or effect that is anime-exclusive.
Ulrich362: True, admittedly I was planning on something else appearing but it wasn't necessary and can be shown off later on. That said though, what's next again?
