9S and 2B find themselves reliving their first mission together, with no recollection of how they got there or why, but with every reason in the world to make sure things turn out better this time. But second chances don't always work out any better than they did the first time around, and soon our heroes will discover that in some cases, fate will not be denied.

Number 2? She's too awkward and clumsy for a soldier. Number 4? She's annoying, likes to think she's cute, she should take this more seriously. Number 16? She thinks she's stronger than everyone, and she's so eager to kill and so creepy too. Number 21? She acts like she knows everything, she believes she's smarter than the others.

They both sounded so small and afraid… Whatever they saw, it must have broken them more than they were willing to admit. At least for the time being. When 2B wakes up from a decades long coma, she finds herself in debt to a lone human man named Kouki, and stuck in a desolate city overrun by Machines. With nothing left to her but her name, 2B swears her loyalty to Kouki, and together the two of them seek to escape the city, and perhaps for 2B to unearth her own past along the way.

Our main characters have been given another chance at life! However, things don't go quite as one would expect. 9S remembers everything, and ****s 2B. 2B realizes what she has done, and makes a difficult choice. A2 learns about their past, and no longer sees 2B the same way.

He'd seen them grow up, seen them grow into beautiful girls. But a bright future and a happy life away from him isn't what he had in mind for them. They were his. They'd always been his. And with the holidays coming, he had the perfect thing in mind. For himself.

In the depths of Earth's warm embrace a long dormant pod opens, a figure, shivering and cold falls to the ground in the dark facility, naked and alone. Where is everybody? What happened with Project Gestalt? Mankind would never be satisfied with only a single hope to survive, the Ark Project was delayed, but did it fail? The wrong man in the right place can make all the difference.

For 2B and 9S, the memories they share are their most precious treasure. I stole those memories. All of them. Even the ones 9S lost long before 2B's demise.
