Little Girl Lost (3)

Inko, even though it was her first time flying in any sort of aircraft, let alone a spacecraft, was exceedingly quiet as they were transported across the city toward U.A. The little girl was still asleep in her arms, clutching at her blouse like a safety blanket. She smiled slightly as the girl snuggled against her, and patted her back gently.

Then her eyes seemed to drift toward Toshinori sitting beside her, his chin resting in the palm of his hand as he looked out the window. Ever since boarding the Rust Bucket, the man had remained quiet. She could hardly blame him: the man that had claimed to have murdered Mei's father, as well as terrorized the little girl had been right in front of him, yet he could do nothing but allow Shinso's Quirk to punish the man in his own way.

Though that wasn't quite what was bothering her.

On several occasions she had seen the man exert a massive amount of pressure from himself when he was angry, never at herself, of course, but today had been the most frightened she had ever been of the man, and it hadn't even been directed at her. And the speed with which he moved, it had been like he had been there one second, and then he was standing in front of the Villain another.

No one she knew could move with such speeds, not unless they were a practicing Pro Hero. [But Toshi said that he was retired,] she thought to herself with doubt settling in her heart about the man, [A simple assistant to...All Might,] she looked at the man with growing suspicion, [And he said that he has some leverage with the government...a simple assistant, even when employed by All Might, wouldn't have those kind of connections.]

"I can practically hear the gears turning in your head, Inko," the man suddenly spoke, startling her out of her thoughts as he turned away from the window to look at her, "I also know that you want to ask me more than a few questions...and I promise that you will get your answers."

Inko began worrying her lip, "It's...It's not really any of my business, Toshi - "

"On the contrary, my dear," he smiled at her, "I had already decided to tell you everything," he chuckled, "I've honestly grown more than a little tired of keeping secrets from you, and the children."

She felt a little smile lifting her lips, "And you'd be willing to tell me?"

"All you have to do is ask," the man nodded, though he did seem nervous, "I just hope that you can accept what you learn."

Inko sighed, "I'm sure that some of it will be hard," she said while the little girl in her arms mumbled in her sleep and snuggled closer, prompting the woman to smile down at her, "But I'm sure that I can accept it...a little at a time."

Toshinori smiled at her, "We can take all the time you need, Inko my dear," he said with a look toward the little girl, "Though I suspect that you're going to be quite busy with this little one?"

The woman smiled, "Well who wouldn't want to care for this little girl?" She asked before her eyes turned toward the front of the ship, "What do you think can be done about that man?" She asked as her eyes landed on Mei. The girl seemed fine on the outside, however she knew better. While the girl had seemed fine when Shinso had sent the man packing, seeing the man that had blatantly admitted to her father's murder had surely taken a toll on the girl.

Toshinori sighed, "Personally, I can't do much, considering that the he did have a point," his voice was lower and angry, "I was and still am off duty." He grumbled, "But that doesn't mean I can't relay this information to someone that can do something about it." He chuckled as he thought of all the ways that Mirai Sasaki would be able trap the man. "This is the first solid evidence he'll have ever gotten against this particular Villain, so he'll no doubt want every bit of info we could give him."

While Inko nodded in agreement, she noticed that Shinso was being unusually quiet. "I have a bad feeling that Shinso doesn't think much of his part in this," she sighed, thinking of how the boy lived apart from his parents because of their fear of his Quirk.

Toshinori sighed, "It would weigh heavily on his mind," he said thoughtfully, "He himself is quite afraid of what he can do with his Quirk if he was pushed to his limits." He said as they neared their destination, "I'll...have a talk with him about it...though I feel rather underqualified for something like this."

Inko smiled at the man, "Well who else has he got?" She asked sadly, "His family is afraid of him for that very same reason and yet I doubt he would do something like that ever again unless he had no choice."

"I agree with you on that point," the man sat back, thinking of how he could breach the subject, "Then there's Mei..." He muttered as the girl herself peered out the window of the RB3. "She needs more than closure at this point."

Inko smiled, "I know, but I think things will work out once she meets her mother," she said as the craft pitched downward gently. "Are we there already?" She called up to her son as he turned and nodded.

"Yeah, we're landing in the courtyard just outside the school entrance." He said as he landed the craft. He then got up and started toward the back, his eyes drifting to Mei, "Well?" He smiled timidly at her, "What do you think of the Rust Bucket?"

Mei, who had been silent the entire flight, suddenly hopped up out of her seat and threw her arms around his neck, "Are you kidding?!" She squealed, "I love it!" She beamed before suddenly kissing his cheek, which caused Kinoko and Inko to laugh and gasp respectively while Izuku turned beet red.

"You said you were gonna stop that!" The boy squeaked.

"Since when?" Mei asked, straight-faced.

Kinoko giggled as she moved to help Inko out of her seat with Eri still sleeping in her arms, Toshinori on the other side of her, "You know Mina's not gonna be happy about this sort of thing?" She said to the affectionate mechanic, "I know that if some other girl was like that with my boyfriend, I'd blow a Gamba shroom."

Mei gave her a wicked little grin, "It's a little early for you and Mento to be doing that sort'a thing, ain't it?"

The brunette turned beet-red, "What?!" She squawked while a cloud of mushroom spores poofed out of her head.

Toshinori nearly laughed, but made a shushing motion instead, "Now, now, enough with this nonsense, you lot, we have a child to look after," he said as he escorted Inko to the hatch, helping her down to a waiting medical team with Recovery Girl at the front. Mei hopped out next and trailed after them, her arms tucked behind her head, while Toshinori waited by the hatch for Kinoko and Shinso to exit, "Young Shinso, a moment, if you please?"

Shinso looked at him uneasily before giving his girlfriend's hand a soft squeeze, "Okay," he muttered as he let go of her hand just as Izuku came down.

Kinoko looked at the man with worry, "He's not in trouble for what happened earlier, is he?" She fidgeted nervously, "He only did it to help - "

Toshinori gave the timid girl a small pat on her head, "Not to worry, Young Komori," he told the girl, "There's no trouble to speak of." He said before looking to Izuku, "Young Midoriya, Shinso and I will be along in a few moments, so please take Miss Komori inside."

"Sure," Izuku nodded slowly, looking between his friend and mentor respectively before reaching out to grasp his friend's shoulder with a firm squeeze. "See you inside, Hitoshi." He said before letting go and taking the brunette inside, the girl casting nervous glances over her shoulder until they were inside.

Hitoshi sighed as they disappeared, "So," he said as he looked at the blond, "How much trouble am I actually in?"

Toshinori chuckled and patted the boy on the back, "None at all, my boy, none at all," he said as the boy seemed to relax, "I only wanted to make sure that you were doing alright after that incident," he saw the boy's shoulders tense up, "And I see that I was right to be worried." He muttered as the boy rubbed his arm in embarrassment.

"I...I don't like using my Quirk like...like that," the boy muttered, "I...it felt so wrong using it to punish someone like that, even when I knew that he had it coming, but - "

The man reached out and gripped the boy's shoulder lightly, "Son, there was nothing wrong with what you did," he promised the boy, "Not in my eyes, and certainly not in the eyes of your friends." He frowned as the boy looked away from him guiltily, "But I have an inkling that something like this has happened before." Hitoshi flinched. "Tell me, Young Shinso...why are you so afraid of your Quirk?"

Hitoshi was quiet for a very long few minutes before he looked up at the man, fear very much evident on his face. "I..." his throat seemed to constrict on his words as he tried to choke them out.

"Take your time," Toshinori told him gently, "And whatever it is, I promise not to say anything to anyone else."

Hitoshi looked at him, "Promise?"

The blond man decided to make a small joke, "Cross my heart and hope to cry," he grinned with a small chuckle, making the boy smile.

Hitoshi chuckled, "Honestly, you being a Hero Agent and all that, I'm surprised that you haven't dug anything up on it, yet," the boy sighed, his smile falling flat, "You...you know that I live away from my family, right?"

Toshinori nodded, "I do and from what I understand, your parents are afraid of your Quirk, so you voluntarily decided to live on your own?" He said, hoping that he remembered the information correctly.

"That's..." Hitoshi bit the inside of his cheek, "That's kind'a true..." He admitted while Toshinori waited patiently, "Truth is...I moved out because I was afraid of my Quirk..."

Toshinori looked at him in shock, "You, Young Shinso?"

Hitoshi nodded, "...yeah..." he muttered slowly, "My...my mom...she's a lot like Ms. Midoriya...not a mean bone in her body, and she never once thought my Quirk was villainous..."

Toshinori's brow creased, "And...your father?" The man prodded, hoping to prompt the boy onward.

Instead the boy's face hardened, "Polar opposite," he snapped, "He drank, he was violent, and he hated my Quirk," the boy sneered.

"I keep hearing a past-tense as you speak about him, Young Shinso," Toshinori pointed out carefully, "Did something happen?"

His face went several shades paler than it already was, "Yeah, I...my Quirk...I didn't know what it was for a long time because I was a late bloomer, like Midoriya and his watch-thing," he went on, "And when my family finally found out what it was...well, my dad went ballistic..." he sighed, "He wanted me to have a Quirk just like his, or something stronger since his only made him bigger, and slightly increased his strength...instead, I got something similar to my mom's...she can read a person's mind provided she concentrates on that person hard enough...and I got a form of mind control."

"And I take it that he vented his frustrations on you?" Toshinori asked, feeling sick to his stomach, even though he knew that this needed to be brought out into the open.

Hitoshi, however, shook his head, "If he'd come after me, I'd have been able to tolerate it," he muttered, his voice trembling with anger, "But he...he blamed and went after my mom..." he growled, "I found something out about my Quirk that day...if I'm angry...like I was today...I can directly take control of someone without making them respond to me...and I was furious with my old man...so I shouted at him to drop dead..." he shivered, "And...that's exactly what he did..." Hitoshi admitted with shame as he looked at the man, "I used my Quirk to kill my own father," he admitted shamefully, "that's why I'm so scared of it, and why I'm so careful about how I use it."

Toshinori looked at the boy with sorrow in his darkened eyes, "I see."

Hitoshi frowned, "Please, don't look at me like that," he pleaded, "My mom looked at me like that every day until I moved out." He sighed, "I know that she didn't mean to, but it just made me feel that much worse."

"My apologies, Young Shinso," he sighed, "I hope I'm not overstepping my boundaries, but I don't think you're being fair to yourself." The boy looked at him, "Your father, though it is unfortunate about his fate, was not a good person, and did not deserve the gift his wife gave him in a son."

Hitoshi frowned, "But I - "

Toshinori cut him off, "Young Shinso," the man placed his hand on his shoulder, "You did nothing wrong: then or now." He told the boy with a smile on his face, "Sometimes things happen that are out of our control, yet they can sometimes work out for the better." He gestured toward the ship behind them, "Think of it this way: had the incident with your father not happened, then you most likely would have never met Young Midoriya, Hatsume, or Komori." He said, making the boy flinch, "I know that it is a crude thing to say when your father's life was the price that you had to pay, but I believe that you are better off for it."

Hitoshi bit his lip, "But...how can I ask them to trust me...when they can never tell when I'll...lose control? " He asked.

"The only time I've seen you use your Quirk on any of them was when you were teasing Hatsume," the man pointed out with a chuckle as he remembered their antics at the restaurant after the U.A. practical exam. "And then you didn't even hold on for very long."

"Of course I didn't," he muttered, "I just wanted to prove a point, not hurt her...I'd never do that."

Toshinori nodded, "So you were able to trust yourself in that moment just to prove a point and nothing more," he said as they began making their way into the school, "You're going to have to learn to trust yourself more from this point on if you want to become a Hero."

"Even if I can use my Quirk to kill?" Hitoshi asked.

Toshinori nodded, "Trust in the fact that you are so reluctant to be painted as a Villain that you would never resort to using your Quirk for such a thing," he said, "If you can't trust yourself, then you'll never move forward in life."

Hitoshi lowered his eyes to the ground, "But what if...what if my friends can't accept what I did?"

"Then you don't really know them, and they are not truly your friends," Toshinori said with a heavy tone, making the boy blanch, "You value their opinion so highly that you can't bare the thought of them thinking ill of you for your past deeds, yet I know for a fact that none of them would hold it against you in consideration for your situation at the time."

Hitoshi sighed and returned to looking at the ground as they walked. "But what if I screw up?"

"Then you screw up," Toshinori chuckled, "that's part of life, Young Shinso, and part of growing up." He reached out and ruffled his hair, "You can't go through life without screwing up more than once or twice, perhaps even a hundred times!" He laughed.

Hitoshi laughed and pushed the skeletal man away, "Yeah, well, I hope I don't screw up that much!"

Toshinori chuckled as they entered the school, "Only time will tell, my boy," he said as they walked down the hall to find the rest of their group, "Now, let's go see how little Himiko is doing, and check up on that little girl."

In his realm between realms, Professor Paradox was beginning to see a pattern that he was not fond of. Each time line that resulted in a better outcome seemed to be branching off on its own into an equally dark future. It was something that he was used to, however, as the multiverse was a massive amount of decisions that were either made or not made, creating different timelines in which a decision made resulted in something good, while in a different timeline that very same decision was not made, and resulted in a different outcome that was not so good.

However, now that he saw the golden timeline becoming brighter, he felt that he could relax somewhat. "But it is so strange that so many darker lines have begun appearing from a single line," he mused as the line split even further away from the light, becoming darker and darker.

The golden timeline seemed to be set in stone, however, up to a certain point. "Kamino Ward," he muttered as he looked at the end of the brightest timeline, an image of his Champion's mentor and current father-figure facing down his old foe, All for One. And he wasn't alone in his fight. By his side stood Izuku Midoriya, Hitoshi Shinso, and Mei Hatsume, the girl holding a rifle in her hands aimed directly at the Villain. "Why would it end here?"

"Surely it isn't because they fail to defeat him?" A soft voice came from behind him. He turned and smiled in greeting at the High Celestial as she entered his little pocket dimension. "I was under the impression that this human was quite powerful?" Amastacia asked as she observed the halted timeline.

Paradox shook his head, "I'm not sure of it myself, dear lady," he said, motioning to the darker timelines, "But the bleaker futures seem to be converging around it as well," he noted with some worry. "The only time I've seen something like this happen was when..." his eyes began to widen, "Of course...how could I have failed to see it!"

Amastacia tilted her head at him in alarm, "Have you figured something out?"

"Indeed," the professor sighed, "And I'm afraid that we can do nothing but allow it to happen," he said as one of the blackened futures became clearer, revealing a tall figure dressed in black with a faceless helmet hiding his visage.

僕ぼくのヒーローアカデミア

When Inko and Mei arrived, Himiko found herself absolutely enthralled by the tiny little girl. She was so adorable that she had to keep herself from squealing at the mere sight of her. But, as the girl had been placed on a hospital bed, she had woken up and nearly bawled her little eyes out in fright, which also drew Recovery Girl's attention to the little girl's horn.

She was quick to figure out that her Quirk was an Emitter-type, and her horn was the focal point of her power. Before she could unconsciously release the energy that was building up, Inko stepped in to calm her, recognizing the girl's fear.

As the woman soothed her, Recovery Girl managed to turn on a mechanism that sent out signals to dampen, or nullify a person's Quirk. The energy that had been sparking from her horn died down, which seemed to exhaust her to the point of fainting.

"That's just as well," Recovery Girl sighed as Inko set the girl down and made sure that she was comfortable on the bed, "I'd rather not frighten her anymore with my examination methods, and she seems to have some bad experiences with medical rooms." She said as she turned to one of the machines, "We'll do a full scan of her body to make certain that no abnormalities formed from her malnutrition."

"Does that include x-rays?" Inko asked, "Her arms are so small that I think that her bones may be brittle."

Recovery Girl nodded, "I thought the very same, my dear," she said, handing her a pair of scissors, "And I wouldn't mind the help of a registered nurse like yourself," she smiled, "Could you remove those bandages on her arms and legs?"

Inko nodded, accepting the scissors and gently holding the girl's left arm to begin the task.

Himiko was standing off to the side with Mei while the two women worked, "What's the story here, Mei?" The blonde asked, "Where'd the kid come from?"

Mei shook her head, "The long and short of it is that she was being chased by a bad guy, ran into us, and Mama Inko took her in." The girl summarized, a dark look on her face, "And the guy that was after her -" She was cut off by a noise from Inko.

The woman had just finished with the limb while the two girls were whispering, and gave a strangled noise from her throat at what she saw. The little girl's arms were covered in hundreds upon hundreds of scars made by a scalpel. "Dear god..." she breathed out.

Mei and Himiko leaned over to get a look and gasped, "Jesus...who could...what the hell...?" She couldn't even form a proper sentence due to her shock as Inko was quick to cut the bandages on her other arms, revealing more of the same scars. The blonde girl heard Mei grinding her teeth loudly.

Recovery Girl looked over from her instruments with a furious scowl on her face, "Once we're done here, I'll have Nezu call that detective friend of Toshinori's and Sir Nighteye." She promised the worried mother, "The ones that did this will not be getting away with this, or my name's not Chiyo Shūzenji!"

Strengthened by her promise, Inko returned to work, growing more and more horrified with each bandage that fell away from the tiny child. Her legs were just as badly scarred as her arms were. Her body, she saw with a sigh of relief, was unmarked.

Recovery Girl then activated the scanner.

The machine passed over the child, a thin red line moving horizontally down her body. As it moved, several readings appeared on the screen. Recovery Girl gripped her cane with barely contained fury. "Whoever did this to her," she said with a quiver in her voice, "Did some serious damage to her nervous system." She looked at Inko, "As with many Emitter-types she has a part of her body that releases her Quirk, which also has a large cluster of nerves around it." She tapped the screen with her cane, "In this case the nerves that control the output of power as well as how and when she releases it seem to have been centered around the horn on the right side of her forehead." She was sounding more and more outraged with each word that passed her lips, "But almost all of those nerves have been severed." She turned to the nurse with a bleak look on her face, "She couldn't control her Quirk right now if she tried."

Inko rose and moved so that she could see the screen for herself, and gasped, "Dear lord, it's a wonder that she can even move!" She sobbed almost uncontrollably.

"Her motor functions have been damaged, somewhat, but it appears that the sensory nerves are nearly completely destroyed." She went on, trying to sound more professional, even though she was absolutely boiling on the inside, "And there appears the be some damage to her cerebral cortex, not heavy damage, thank heaven, but enough that it's obvious." She hummed in thought, "I think that the person responsible had some medical knowledge." She said, pointing something out in the scans, "These here are what we call the sympathetic nervous system, and it seems that they've been arranged to the point that she feels terrified every waking moment."

Mei thought back to the man that had been after the girl, "Shinso was too nice to that bastard," she muttered darkly, her fists clenched. She looked at Inko, "Inko, can that kind of damage be fixed?"

Inko shook her head sadly, "Not without copious amounts of surgical procedures, Sweetie," she said was she stared down at the sleeping child, "And even if the procedures were successful, there's very little chance that the poor little thing would be completely normal again."

Recovery Girl sighed, "Even with some of the best Healing Quirks out there, this is a tricky situation," she explained to the two girls, "Most Quirks like many and many others call for a price to be paid." Himiko and Mei looked confused, "For example, if I tried to heal her right now, her vitality would be sucked out of her like, and she would most assuredly perish."

Himiko paled, "So there's nothing that you can..." she trailed off, remembering something, "...do...Izuku!" She shouted suddenly, startling Mei and Inko. "Sorry," she said hurriedly, "But didn't that guy that came by the other night tell us something about his watch-thingy?" She asked of her foster mother, "He said that he upgraded it, and now it has some kind'a healing power!"

"He what?" Recovery Girl asked, "When did this happen?"

Inko was just beginning to realize what the girl meant, "Oh my goodness, Himiko, you're right!" She yelped, looking to Mei, "Mei, go find him! Quickly now!"

僕ぼくのヒーローアカデミア

"Are you sure you're okay?" Kinoko asked for what seemed like the hundredth time after Shinso had met back up with them. "You looked awfully pale when Mr. Yagi brought you back to us."

Shinso just grinned and put up with it. Kinoko was a worrier, and that was perfectly fine with him. She was worth a little exasperation. "I'm fine, Kinoko, really," he assured her gently, "Toshinori was just giving me a little pep talk. Nothing else."

"She's right to be worried, Hitoshi," Izuku put in as they walked through the halls at a slower pace, "Toshinori's the one guy in the Hero business I wouldn't want as an enemy." The verdette sighed. And he meant it. Not simply because of the man's superpowered alter ego, but because Toshinori Yagi seemed to be far more frightening than All Might ever could be.

Shinso nodded with a slight shiver, "You've got that right," he admitted, remembering how the man had nearly knocked the wind out of them earlier, "I never knew that something like that was possible." He said with a look in Izuku's direction, "I'm glad he never used that pressure technique on us while he was training us. I could barely breathe, and it wasn't even directed at us!"

"Yeah," Kinoko said, "It was scary."

Izuku nodded in understanding, "I've felt that sort of thing before, but never like that," he admitted, remembering all the times that Katsuki had leaked so much killing intent toward him that he could feel it.

Shinso shook his head, "What really gets me is the fact that when Toshinori moved, did anyone see him do it?" He asked of his friends, "I mean it was like he was just one second, and then he was right next to that guy." He was understandably shaken, all things considered. The normally cordial and gentle man had never displayed such maneuverability even when sparing with the two boys, save for when he was beefed up as All Might and sparring with one of Izuku's transformations.

Kinoko tapped her chin in thought, "Well, he said that he's a retired Professional Hero, so it's only natural that he's got some moves that he hasn't shown you guys before, I guess?" She reasoned while Shinso nodded in understanding while Izuku had to bite the side of his cheek to keep from snickering. If only they knew what the man could really do.

"Hey, Izuku!" Mei's voice shouted down the halls, the trio turning to see her running toward them at a full pelt. She skidded on her heels as she neared them and would have screeched right passed had Izuku not reached out to stop her.

"Jeeze, Mei, this is a school for crying out loud," Shinso smirked with his brow raised, "You think you could be less...you?" He asked as Izuku steadied her.

Mei just glared at him, "Watch it, Mento, or else I'll stuff a grenade down your boxers," she snapped before turning her attention back to Izuku, "Mama Inko and Himiko need you in the nurse's office," she told him, "Something about fixing that little girl."

Izuku gave her a surprised look, "What's wrong with her?"

"Serious nerve damage," Mei said, "From what I heard from the two of them, though, your Support Gear has some kind'a healing function that could help her."

"It does?" Shinso asked with a glance down at the gizmo, "Just what all does that doohickey do for you, Izuku?"

Shaking his head, the boy looked back down the hall from where Mei had come running, "No time to explain," he said as he started back in that direction, "If they think it's bad enough for me to use it, then I had better not argue!" He looked back over his shoulder, "I'll see you guys later!"

"We won't be far behind you!" Kinoko called after them as Mei jogged after their friend.

Izuku didn't answer as Mei caught up with him and started running at full speed, "How bad off is she?" He panted out as they ran.

"Bad," Mei gasped, "Both Inko and Recovery Girl said that it'd take multiple surgeries to help her, and that even then she'd never be a normal kid again!" She looked at her friend, "Can that watch really help her?"

Izuku shook his head, "I don't know," he huffed as they rounded a corner narrowly missing someone, "Sorry!" both yelled out as they kept going before Izuku added, "I've never used that part of the Ultimatrix before, so I don't know what it can do."

"Well, Himiko was the one that thought about it," the girl said as the skidded to a halt in front of the nurse's office, "Okay, whatever's about to happen, I hope you know what you're doing."

The boy looked down at her, "So do I," he took a deep breath and started toward the door. Mei then reached out and grasped his arm, "What's the matter - ?" He started to ask as he turned around, but was stopped by Mei's lips landing on his own. Another quick, chaste kiss that had Izuku's brain going haywire once again.

The girl stepped back, her cheeks glowing. "For luck."

"Right..." the boy muttered, "Uh...Mei...I..." He stammered out as the girl twirled him around and pushed him toward the doors.

"Go, before the luck runs out," she giggled right as Shinso and Komori showed up.

Shinso chuckled as their friend blundered through the double doors, "You know something, Mei?" She looked at him with a slight glare, "One of these days you're gonna do that in front of Mina, and she's gonna pour acid down your shorts."

Mei just shrugged, "Meh, if she tries it, I'll just give her the same treatment," she said while tucking her arms behind her head.

Kinoko frowned, "What? Pouring acid on her?"

"Nope," Mei grinned, "A lower lip sandwich."

The brunette blushed as bright as a tomato, "I forgot you liked girls, too," the girl mumbled quietly tapping her fingers together.

"Are you kidding?" Shinso asked with his brow rising, "Didn't she grab your ass not an hour ago?"

"It's such a nice ass, too," Mei giggled while the poor girl just covered her face, "By the way," the rosette asked when she noticed something, "Where's Pop Toshinori?"

Shinso gave a shrug, "I don't know," he said, "He got some kind of urgent phone call and headed off to the principal's office." He explained as the doors opened up and Himiko popped out, "Is everything alright in there, Himiko?"

The girl had a small crooked smile on her face that seemed to be twitching, "Yeah, but, uh, Izuku wants you guys in there," she said, making the others give her strange looks, "Okay, guys, listen," she sighed, "I already went through this whole spiel, but it's about how Izuku's watch can do what it does." She explained, "He wants to let you guys in on the secret."

"Secret?" Mei frowned, looking over to Shinso, "I'm a mechanic, and I just thought the thing allowed him to access his Quirk?"

Shinso shrugged, "Beats me," he said, "I've always thought Izuku's Quirk in general seemed pretty strange." Mei arched her brow at him while Kinoko just stared, "I mean think about it: how many people out there have a Quirk that let's them change into who knows how many different mutants?"

"He has a point," Kinoko said, "I mean, I've never seen Midoriya change, but even I'd have to say something like what he does is weird."

Himiko's lips were twitching to near uncontrollable levels now, "Ye-yeah, I agree with you guys," her voice had the tremble of a barely contained giggle behind it. She then turned on her heel and opened the door, "You guys should hear it from him."

Shinso sighed while both girls looked to where Himiko had disappeared, "Well, this can't be good."

Minutes Earlier - U.A. Principal's Office

What had pulled Toshinori away from the children had indeed been an urgent phone call. "Everything's been arranged for the visitation?" The man asked as Officer Shishikura relayed the news, "That's wonderful to hear," Toshinori breathed out in relief, "You don't know how relieved I am to hear back from you so soon on the matter."

"Believe me, Sir, we wanted to have this done as soon as possible," the warden said, sounding sincere, "Truth be told, no one here knew about Tsutsumi having a kid, else we might've been able to get this done a lot faster." The man sounded extremely exasperated as he spoke, "We had to go through a few tight-asses from the Hero Public Safety Commission to get this cleared."

Toshinori winced, "That's probably my fault," the man admitted, "I had a talk with the president not long ago, and we didn't quite see eye to eye." He told the man, "When can I bring the child in?"

"Whenever she's ready," Shishikura said, "We'll be ready for you."

Toshinori thanked the man and hung up the phone. "At least that's one thing that's gone right, today," he sighed in relief as the principal chuckled, "It's not funny, Nezu," the man groaned in exhaustion, "I feel like I'm being yanked in every which way but the right way!"

"Well," the tiny mammal chuckled, "I dare say that you're doing a fabulous job in keeping things together as they are," Nezu smiled and offered the man a cup of tea, Toshinori taking the cup gratefully, "Being an honorary father figure to not just one but four children, training two of those four to enter U.A.'s Heroics Courses," Toshinori hung his head in embarrassment, "Oh, and let us not forget that you've chosen to lock horns with the H.P.S.C. of all organizations while also making enemies with a rather terrifying yakuza leader that is the has just become the main suspect in the murder of one of those children's parents."

Toshinori rubbed the back of his neck bashfully, "Well, when you put it that way," he mumbled, "And it's certainly not like I went looking for trouble, Nezu," he reminded the rodent, "Trouble simply keeps popping up out of the wood!"

"Such is the life of a family man," Nezu teased him while the man sputtered, "Or so I'm told at least." He chuckled, "But surely it hasn't all been bad, Toshinori? You've found yourself quite the life." He reminded him, allowing the man to relax and sip at his tea, "Ms. Midoriya, from what I've been told, is a very kind woman, and an excellent nurse," he sipped at his tea before continuing, "I had toyed with the notion of hiring her on as an assistant for Recovery Girl considering how well she speaks of her." He said while Toshinori shook his head, "Oh, please, don't worry yourself, Toshinori. I have a feeling that with the addition of this child to the Midoriya household, Ms. Midoriya will have her hands quite full."

Toshinori sighed, "I agree with you there, otherwise I would have said she'd make an excellent assistant to Chiyo," he said, "Either way, I need to get on top of this thing with the yakuza." He frowned and sat back, thinking about the man that he had met earlier, "The man I met was most assuredly Kai Chisaki, the one that Sasaki warned me about, as well as the man that offhandedly admitted to murdering Hatsume's father in cold blood because he was trying to protect the little girl in Inko's care at the moment."

Nezu set his cup down and reached for the teapot, "Quite the picture you've painted from a single encounter with the man," he said as he offered to refill Toshinori's cup. While he did so, the principal sighed, "Though, even with that partial admission, I doubt that you'll have a true case against the man...unless you're planning on taking the child's testimony?"

Toshinori frowned, staring down at his steaming cup, "No, not after seeing how frightened she was," he shook his head, "I've never seen a child so terrified in my life, Nezu. And putting her through anymore trauma is out of the question."

Nezu chuckled again, "Perhaps I should have said that you've become the father figure of four children instead of three?" He asked while the man blushed slightly, "However even if the little girl doesn't give a statement, I'm sure that Recovery Girl will be able to tell us a great deal from her examinations."

Before Toshinori could say anymore his phone began blaring out its obnoxious ringtone again, "Will you never change that ridiculous thing?" Nezu questioned, "It's bad enough that you're your own ringtone, but that slogan of yours is utterly butchered by it!"

Toshinori chuckled, "Nope, not changing it," he said as he answered, "This is Yagi, what can I...ah, Mirai!" The man laughed as the caller identified themself, "I was just thinking about calling you!"

"I have a small inkling as to why," Mirai Sasaki said with a hint of exasperation, "Do you know that the person I have been investigating for the passed year was just reported walking through the countryside in a supposed daze?"

Toshinori chuckled, "Well, I may have had a hand in that little situation," he said, "I'd like to explain, Mirai, but I think it would be best said in person." He went on with a look toward Nezu, silently asking his permission to host the man at the school. The mammalian principal gave a quick nod of consent and Toshinori continued, "Is there any possible way that you could swing by U.A. in the next hour or so?"

"I should be able to manage," Mirai said, "I had been wanting to check in on my apprentice after our last meeting, but I never got the opportunity."

Toshinori nodded, "I'm glad, because I think I'm going to need your support soon," he said into the speaker, frowning, "I'm getting in deep here, old friend, and my...my own apprentices are right in the thick of it."

There was a soft humming on the other end of the phone, "I see...in that case, I'll be sure to give everything I have in this case," the man said, "I will see you soon, my friend."

僕ぼくのヒーローアカデミア

Author's Note: Ending it here, amigos. This entire chapter was beginning to feel like a run-on, and I thought that it had enough for now. So we will be seeing a part 4 to this little story arc before moving on to Mei meeting her mother, the beach party episode, and then onto the U.A. entry. Also, if there's anyone wondering where the Bakugo family was in this chapter, they'll make an appearance in the next chapter.

Anyway, what we've seen in this chapter: Inko has her suspicions about Toshinori, while Shinso's back story comes to light as well as a surprise involving his Quirk. The damage done to Eri makes Recovery Girl sick, and Izuku is about to let the Citrakayah out of the bag.

Romance wise, we'll get some back story for Shinso and Kinoko since I didn't do much in their night together. Also, the thing between Izuku, Mei and Mina will be coming out into the open in the next few chapters.

Looking forward to that?

Then ya'll know what to do! Adios Amigos!
