"Oh that looks nice..." Yugi noted as he reclined on this thick recliner that he summoned unintentionally. Originally it was just the standard chair that the suite had, yet as Yugi began to ponder what Mai and Vivian would be wearing... Reality began warping the seat, from the standard warm blues to the sandy gold of a Pharaoh's throne.
Seto hadn't gone insane and forced some type of mandatory costume on the ladies. After all this wasn't an 'adults only' event and the rampant sexism would have made Yugi declined the tournament on principle.
And if Seto tried to force it, feel free to live on a planet that completely forgot the tournament was happening! Yugi wasn't perfect in resisting the urge to use his natural gifts.
This particular outfit was one of Mai's a simple cut skirt, bodice, top combo, really what she often wore. The skirt was a little longer though and the bodice covered a bit more up, which given the nature of the park showed taste.
From there he casually searched through all the options...
"Oh that looks nice."
"Oh I like those colors."
"The dragons look beautiful.
"That's almost an evening gown..."
"So that's a nice string biki... oh... that IS the out-... ok Vivian forget this idea."
Yugi could only flinch at the internal sound of Seto's outrage if he saw Vivian saunter out onto the dueling field in 'that'.
While he studied the outfits he found himself pondering what he should wear as well. He would dress his Other Self in leathers and there was the option to do so himself now... 'I could, it is what is expected of me.' Only this was 'not' the Other Yugi that Yugi was dressing and he needed to figure out how to dress 'himself'. 'Mai wants to pretend we're engaged so it might work to dress in concert with her outfit. Which would mean the leather outfit. Though I could just trade out the top for something more romantic... Give she is dressing in her regular dueling gear. Of course buying a 'costume' isn't going to work with her paying a good sum to bring Valon with her.'
Black leather boots and pants would be fine, maybe the white t-shirt and a white button on? He wore it before and it was a nice evolution to his old style... But then the thought of his 'coat' came back to mind. Did he want to wear Obelisk to the match as the trench coat? It could stay in his shadows, let the cult watch him as he was.
'How should the King of Games appear at the duel...' he mused. 'Oh.. Oh no poor Maha,' he suddenly thought as he realized what Mahaado was about to endure. He no longer appeared in that long tunic attire. Everyone was used to see him with limited armor and mostly hidden under that tunic. Now with Yugi no longer fractured, Maha had been manifested with more form fitting armor. With the fabric less people saw more of his build...
Yugi began chuckling as the possible responses played through out his mind, despite Mahaado being safely protected facing holograms. Divine knowledge began to show him things that made him curl up further into his chair. Being Absolute was 'not' doing him any favors as he saw future technology and what they could put his poor Maha through.
"Seto?" he called out, just to hear his own voice.
'What Yugi I'm busy,' was Seto's curt reply.
'Could you block me from the world for a bit.' Yugi asked in his sweetest most saccharine voice he could manage.
'Why?' Seto asked with an annoyed put upon sigh.
'Ok picture this. In the future, someone builds a 3D virtual reality game where they can have a sexual relationship with Duel Spirits,' the world went so dark so fast, and Yugi barely put a shield up in time to save a building that Seto nearly struck down with lightning! 'Me! Shield 'Me' don't wipe out Florida because someone else wants personal time with Maha!' Yugi pleaded. The clouds had materialized instantly blocking the sun out so utterly that it could have been night time here.
Panic was instant as short sudden rain showers were normal.
'This?'
Was becoming the stuff of legends.
People were able to avoid the night that Seto went to Colorado because it had been night time and the area was isolated. But Domino's storm was in an active city and not incredibly late, which only had elevated Seto's standing among the masses. They would have no idea what incited this storm, but the lightning was spectacular! It stretched across the sky, dancing across clouds, struck the ground, would have tore tracks of land, bounced from bio-dome to bio-dome. It lit the cloud induced darkness better than Tokyo!
All because Seto had relationship issues... Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
The thunder followed so close on the lightnings tail that the air physically shuddered, the windows and walls quivered. Car and truck alarms blared into the air with the alarm associated with terrified corral animals longing to escape the end times noise. Pictures would fall from walls, less expensive windows would crack and shatter as things fell from tables and dressers.
"Are we feeling better?" Yugi asked as he continued to shield the poor unprotected city from a Kaiba shaped storm.
People were cowering, there was no rain only thunder and lightning and seeing lightning touch the ground was more than enough. Would they be safe inside a building? Especially here in KaibaLand when everything was heavily technological? There was supposed to be this incredibly exciting tournament tonight and if Seto didn't calm down. Few people would have the courage to come out and watch it at this rate!
"Seto..."
Yugi really didn't want to pull rank on Seto. Dispersing the storm or erasing people's memories and recordings of the event didn't sit right with him.
"Pharaoh?!" Mahaado appeared, fully in his Dark Magician form with Kuriboh by his side, fur bristled in worry.
A natural reaction of course, when Seto had lashed out like this it was in response to the demon or Yugi being under stress. Not because Seto was imagining some pimply 17 year old trying to score a first base on Mahaado.
'Though I suppose if I elevated Isis to Godhood and let 'her' join in on this...' Yugi mused to someone particular, but not actively in the room or world.
'Seto seriously, get it together, I need you shielding me because I don't want these images in my head. I'm not interested in trying to keep you from sinking Florida into the ocean for vindictive 'fun', further more. Mahaado and Kuriboh are now in my room, you alarmed them that much so stop it already!'
"I... apologize Maha, I asked Seto to shield me and well... the reason kind of upset him..." Yugi explained as he gestured helplessly to the window showing the world outside.
For Mahaado it was interesting, he had merely teleported and paid no heed to the outside world. So he walked over and observed the world for a moment. The clouds were dark true, but it brought out the raw power of the lightning even more vividly. These beautiful shades of divine blues and whites, jagged and free, so utterly wild.
The first big fat drops of rain splattered against the window blurring a bit of the outside world. Yet in doing so warped the lightning into new ways before the rain began to beat against the window in increasing force.
Yugi sat there for a moment, unaware of the tears starting to fall from his own eyes as he watched Maha. From the magician he felt the intense longing for his freedom, a primal desire borne of slavery from an early age. Knowing this invasion of awareness was an unfair leverage over the mage. Yugi suddenly found himself agonizingly swamped by the wants and desires of those around him.
Mahaado wanted his freedom yes, but his loyalty, and the fear that inspired that loyalty, was too strong to make him speak out or reach for it. While Seto was raging from his own anger, they knew Mahaado was terrified of something here and Setos' inability to figure out what. Was inciting more of his anger. The sensation of failure was not something that set well with him.
Seto was too angry to focus on Yugi causing his storms to escalate in size and ferocity so Yugi now had to decide. Control Seto's storm, and in doing so ease the growing alarm and panic of the masses, or let him run wild and untamed.
'Either way they'll be scared and there will be rumors which will have their own sets of consequences...' he mused as he closed his eyes. They didn't need to be open, he could just as easily feel the fierce driving winds and smell the hot tang of ozone right where he was. Cold rain heated by the Florida heat lashing at his body. He was huddled up against a brick and mortar building and he couldn't see in front of him because the rain was so hard. His clothes were so thin, like his frame because he hadn't eaten in days the rain was as hard as flung ice and... and...
"Seto... Please..." he began to sob. "There are 'children' out in this... Seto please calm down, you're a god now too. Please! Just please..."
Kuriboh hovered in growing anxiety, their fur puffing up and out in response as their dear Prince sobbed. He was doubled over with his hands covering his face, shaking and begging for the General to do something.. The prince 'did' say children...
Upset and wanting to help, Kuriboh faded away to find the General. The little spirit floated through out the building and over to the suite he could sense the General at. While the buildings were massive, even for a small spirit such as its self... It was a spirit, and walls meant nothing in the end when it traveled through them into Kaiba's office.
Mokuba for his part, was a ball of conflict on his own, as he was eyeing the window with wide eyed wonder. His Brother's storms had taken place when he was busy with important things so seeing it now was absolutely amazing. A physical manifestation of his Brothers' power, with such vivid blue lightning bolts that lit the sky. They looked thicker than the line of a pencil and that was from bolts 'in the sky' they would be thicker than a man in person! The rain lashed next at the window causing him to lose the ability to see those neat cut lines. Turning them into neon lights blurred out into the distance!
Given the quality of the building it was impossible to hear the rain even as it lashed against the windows so the worried kurrs easily broke his immersion. Turning around Mokuba found Kuriboh in the room hovering around his Big Brother flailing his little green stubby limbs frantically. The little kurr began trying to find something on the desk leaving Mokuba to fathom why the spirit seemed so distressed.
"Is it the storm? Wait, is big brother Yugi ok?" Mokuba asked in sudden alarm as the possible reason why Kuriboh was in the room came to mind. Sure Yugi was God now, but he was apparently working pretty hard in letting people make their own choices... So what if someone tried to make a 'choice' to hurt him?!
Yet Kuriboh's anxious shaking only increased Mokuba's concern as the Kuriboh uprighted itself. It put its paws to its face and began emulating crying, its little fists rubbing at its eyes and the idea that Yugi was crying...
Seto had this cold, almost disinterested look on his face reserved for the most vain of people as he studied Kuriboh. It was the wrong expression to have against the spirit of a child though, causing annoyance and disappointment to well up in Mokuba. Suddenly the lightning outside stopped being 'cool' as he realized something horribly wrong was happening.
"Sure, why not, if I'm a 'god' then speak. I'm not interested in wasting my time with you trying to figure out how to tell me whatever." Seto snarled.
"Big Brother! Kuriboh is a child!" Mokuba countered in sharp disappointment and disapproval.
"Children... Orphans, ice from the sky, you hurting children..."
The world froze, Seto's eyes were glowing electric blue with a primal fury, only the storm outside was a comfort that the world was still turning.
It was silence in the office...
Yet the ozone was now in the room with them. Unleashing a storm was one thing, reining it in, calming 'down'? Knowing that there were children being killed because of his actions froze any rage he had. The scientific realities still applied, wind molecules were already active, electricity was charged even retracting his own influence wasn't going to stop this!
'Why did you have to say that? You're the Creator of this damn existence did you momentarily lose your damn mind?!' Kaiba snarled in this unwelcomed sensation of helplessness, because in the end it was all emotional. There was no spider sense tingling that someone needed him or that anything was going on to start with. All he could physically feel was his office and the air conditioning blowing into the room. But the building, while muting a great deal of the outside world, couldn't block everything.
"You 'could' sense if you opened yourself up to it, and I do understand your reluctance. However..." Yugi pointed out as he watched the storm about him.
Then his eyes fell upon Mokuba, he had grabbed Kuriboh and was holding the spirit to him. This stern frown on his lips, the boy was attempting to be the adult for his brother. Kindness and endearment touched Yugi's gaze. "Go Mokuba, you will be a surprise for Anzu and Mai, after all Mai needs to start her introduction into this world."

Vivan's mouth hung open in shock and horror as she stood at the doors of the hotel. Her masseuse stood by her side in equal shock as they watched the coal black clouds above. It was so dark the street lights had turned on and even 'that' did little to illuminate the darkness around them. Occasionally lightning would flare through the sky adding to the beach ball sized orbs of light that mostly revealed the hail and rain. Hail and rain speared past the light to the ground and it was the lightning that revealed that outside there was several families trapped huddled against a covered bench meant for idle rain not hailstorms.
No one wanted details of the hailstones, Vivian hadn't really studied those things or normal Florida weather. Well outside of the yearly 'Florida faces historic hurricane could be wiped off the map' type news feeds she had read. When the lightning flashed she could see these terrified families with the appearance of a childs' leg amid the huddled couples.
"Anything to get them here?" Well that was what the people around Vivian heard. While the building was muting the sounds of the storm outside, Vivian was upset enough that her Chinese was taking over. Had they been Chinese they would have understood it better as 'Is there anything we can do to get them here?'
"The front doors are kept locked to keep the children from sneaking in, the vivid redheaded receptionist explained as she looked around. There was umbrellas solid, sturdy affairs especially given hurricane season. But they looked like toothpicks when she watch the sizes of the stones as they exploded. Fist sized stones that would crash into the stonework ground and shatter, bursting into smaller stones. "I can unlock the doors, let them in, but they're so far away if it was just the rain it would be fine. But those stones..."
"Oh God, yes and they have their kids with them, they'll get bruised and even bloody before they get halfway here..." Another employee noted in growing distress. "Call Security, they have the golf carts!"
"You think those carts can stand against 'that'?" Another woman argued.
"Hell Security would die before they got there!" the receptionist pointed out.
Above the building Blue Eyes sat there, the blue plated glass that served as her 'eyes' began to pool with water.
The children were crying.
