Summary:

Asmodeus gets a call from Lucifer and the two talk about what will be coming up for the meeting of the Sins. The first one that Lucifer will attend without the Queen by his side.

Charlie is getting ready for her first meeting of the Sins as well. She has some complicated feelings about that, feelings she'd rather not face at the moment actually, because this means officially stepping into her mother's shoes. Is she ready for this? She hopes...maybe... She'd much rather enjoy her last night with Vaggie before the trip instead.

Notes:

I'm still working on dialogue. It's a weakness of mine when I get into heavy conversation areas. Helpful crit is welcome. Also, enjoy some Chaggie smexy time. There won't be a lot of opportunity in later chapters unfortunately.

Again, warning: Nothing graphic or kinky but small NSFW scene in the first half of the chapter. Starts right after sneaky Razzle.

Look to Our Worse Angels
Chapter 3

Asmodeus leaned tiredly back in his large chair to take a break from his notes.

Fizz was off ordering them some dinner and truly, it was a good thing, because what he'd been reading was slightly disturbing to him. A scroll from Belphegor was unsealed in front of him. Not being a medical expert, like his sister, the information got slightly lost in translation. The other Sins must've also gotten the same scroll to brief them on what Bel wanted to bring up in the meeting tomorrow.

Ozzie groaned and he rubbed at his face. He felt his mood take a dive when he thought about what was coming up. It would be a lot of trouble to take on, for sure.

His phone buzzed on his desk and slowly he reached out to look at the screen. With a jerk he sat up in his chair and stared at the name that popped up. 'Well, I'll be an angel's halo...' Ozzie flicked the 'accept call' button and brought the phone to his ear.

"Good to hear from ya, brother." He greeted the king. There was a pause on the other end of the line.

Lucifer gulped and nervously fidgeted with the phone in his hands. The king hadn't spoken to any of the Sins in... who knows how long... but Ozzie and him had always been closer. "Uh, yeah, good to talk to you again, Oz. Sorry it's been a while since I last checked in. Or- Well, that is to say, I've been kind of ignoring all of you for a while and I just want to apologize for that." He switched from one ear to the other as he paced his old room in the mansion. Lucifer didn't want this call to be interrupted by one of Charlie's hotel friends.

"Charlie's been kind of encouraging me to apologize for stuff like that."

Asmodeus waved away the king's concerns without a thought. He relaxed behind his desk and chuckled pleasantly as he thought about his determined niece. 'That girl has a good head on her shoulders. Leave it to Charlie to be able to pull her dad away from his workshop. We probably should've tried harder back then.'

He said as much to Lucifer right then, attached to his own belated apology.

Lucifer chuckled on the other end of the call. "Thanks, Oz. That means a lot." He really missed talking to the sensible Sin. They'd always been a lot more like brothers then some of the others. "How- uh, how have things been going with you lately? Charlie mentioned some big public display recently. She seemed rather excited about it, actually."

He didn't know any details, having missed the whole social media onslaught, and being, hmm... disconnected.

The large blue Sin frowned into the phone. He was still furious at Mammon and felt his feathers ruffle thinking about the threat the Sin of Greed had said to him on that stage.

"Everything's been flowing real smooth around here, if you know what I mean, as for other things... I'll tell you about it later." Ozzie decided he DID NOT want to talk about his troubles with Mammon over the phone. Things were way too complicated for this depth of discussion.

Ozzie already had a good idea that Lucifer would show up at the meeting this year. Ever since hearing about the fight with Adam on the Sinner news channel. So, he wasn't surprised when Lucifer stumbled his way into letting him know he'd be there to lead things once more.

"Oh, yeah, the meeting. Right. I'll be there. I have to get back into the swing of things eventually. King of Hell and stuff, ya know." He laughed nervously.

"Yeah, something told me you would." Ozzie smirked into the phone.

"Soooo... about that too. I was wondering-?"

"Let me guess, you were wondering if my invitation from the old days still counted? Well, let me say that my sex lounge is your sex lounge, my demonic liege."

Lucifer scoffed with a lighthearted huff. 'Can always depend on Asmodeus.' He thought to himself with a shake of his head. "Okay, cool it with that stuff, you horny rooster. I don't want Charlie listening to all your 'business talk' the whole time we're there."

Ozzie cocked his head away from the phone and stared at the little glowing screen for a good few seconds. If he didn't know better, he would think the king was trying to tell another joke. Though, he didn't seem to be at the moment. The Sin of Lust slowly put the phone back to his ear. Maybe he just had a bad connection.

"Okay, hold up there, Charlie's doing what now? Are you-?"

"What?" It was Lucifer's turn to be confused.

There was plenty of reasons to be worried. Things had changed a lot from the days when Lucifer, with his queen at his side, had held the reins of Hell with a sense of control ordering the chaos. Now things had gone too far off leash, so to say. "Are you sure you want her here, Luce? To be dropped in the middle of all this?" He loved Charlie like she was his own blood and wanted to look after her.

Although there had been distance in the last few decades he also knew she was far from ready and prepared for the levels of bullshitery that were about to drop.

There was a heavy pause from Lucifer at that point.

'Did I misjudge things? I thought that Oz, at least, would be excited to see Charlie at the meeting.' He didn't expect Ozzie of all people to deny Charlie a seat at the table. "You don't think Charlie deserves to be at the meetings? That she can't handle things?" He asked, keeping his tone forcibly level, though he could feel a defensive growl in his chest.

Asmodeus knew he had to speak carefully. Not that he was afraid or anything but he didn't want to give the idea he didn't believe in Charlie either. He had no doubts the young demoness had the capacity to become a great leader. Even better than her parents but she was still very inexperienced.

"No, I never doubted that Charlie could one day-"

It seemed that Lucifer was determined to take it on the defensive, however.

There was a growl in his words this time. "My daughter deserves to be there as much as anyone. She's resilient and braver than any demon in Hell."

"Of course, no one could say she's not brave after what just took place... but she's still young, Luci." The large Sin heaved himself from behind his desk and began his own circuit of pacing. He ran a hand across his face and sighed deeply. What a mess.

He was quick to assure Lucifer he meant nothing bad and only spoke out of concern for Charlie's wellbeing. This year's meeting wasn't going to be an easy cakewalk for any of them. With a tired expression Ozzie asked a question he was pretty sure he already knew the answer to.

"Tell me you've at least seen the updates from the lower Rings? Bel's memo?"

The king felt his gut twist and he looked down, shame-faced, to examine his boots. "Oh, pfft, yeah. Of course." Lucifer blustered as he jerked his head up and snapped his fingers to summon the missive in question from the teetering pile in his office. He broke the seal as he heard Oz sigh on the other end of the call.

"Scroll. Very official and everything. Weird from Bel, right? Heh."

"Just read it over tonight, would ya, Luce. Maybe a few others too. It'd really help in the meeting, ya know." Ozzie gave a small shake of his head.

Leviathan also wouldn't be happy about Lucifer's attempt to retake control. He'd allied himself with Satan and Mammon too. Those bastards were never happy unless things went in their favor. The king's return would throw a wrench in any of their plans.

Then there was Charlie, who was being thrown into a stirred-up hornet's nest, by her very well-meaning (if blinded) father.

"I'm not saying you don't need the back-up, because ya do need the support, but that's why me and Bee have already agreed..." Ozzie started but the king cut him off again.

"I appreciate the support from you two. I do, always, but it's also important to have her there as my daughter." He would not be swayed from this. Lucifer knew that it would be a rough go. He also knew he couldn't do this on his own. Asmodeus and Beelzebub had his back. Of this he was certain. They were nothing like the comfort of a confident hand in his though. One that held him steady and trusted through the ages. A soft voice that was both gentle in nature and held the ability to command Hell's attention. Slowly his mind drifted.

Ozzie agreed that the royal family's support behind the king was a crucial point but he'd still rather himself and Bee offer their support in Charlie's stead. "Of course, Charlie is important but-"

Lucifer didn't seem to have heard him at all. He sounded lost, almost, clinging to a broken dream. Or, one of the past.

"Charlie is fully capable."

"Luce..."

"With her there with me, together, we can-"

"Lu..."

"Us two are a formidable team and-"

"Lucifer!"

"What, Oz?!"

Finally!

Finally, the king was broken out of something nearly manic.

There was a deep breath on the other side of the phone.

"Charlie isn't Lilith."

A long and heavy pause took over Lucifer's side of the conversation. Asmodeus could hear several deep breaths being taken. "No. No, I suppose she isn't."

There was another long halting struggle for breath with Lucifer trying to control himself and not breakdown just yet. "Lilith always had a way to keep even that braggart, loudmouth, Mammon in line with such ease. It's my fault, again, Charlie's just not ready for that yet. Do I - Do I still have you guys behind me?"

Ozzie sighed deeply. He rubbed his hand down his face and leaned tiredly against the corner of his desk. "That's not even a question. You know I'll stand behind you, my king."

"Thank you, you don't know how much that means." For what it was worth Lucifer sounded just as worn out on his end of the call. "I realize, it might have been a bit selfish to think Charlie could just jump into the deep end and be okay."

"Yeah, probably, but even if something happens. Between you, me, and Bee we'll make sure to keep an eye out on her. She's a smart and strong girl, with your ambition and drive, and when she sets her mind to something it's better to help or just get out of the way. Even as a kid, going after the cookie jar, she was like that."

Lucifer let out a weak chuckle as the memory bubbled up in his mind. "Well, between you and Bee, and your special cookies I think it would've helped both of you more to try and stop her instead of dealing with me and Lilith afterwards."

Ozzie laughed out loud, glad to hear a little light back in Lucifer's voice. They wrapped up the call after that. The Sin noticing Fizz hovering just outside the door with food in his hands. 'How long has he been standing there?' A gentle smile made its way to his expression at the sight of his lover. He heard Lucifer promising to read- reread- the updates on his desk.

Because he'd totally read them before.

And not just forgotten about it all until the night prior.

Several Hellish layers above the Lust Ring the princess was struggling in a whole different way. It was the evening before she was going to leave with her father. Charlie sat next to a pile of luggage and pouted up at her frustrated girlfriend.

"Charlie, you can't be seriously needing to take every piece of clothing you own. You're not moving to the Lust Ring, are you?" Vaggie ran a hand down her face. The pale lavender angel rolled her single eye at the absolute mountain of luggage that her girlfriend had stacked by their bed. Including her guitar case. "Should I be worried?" She teased with a laughing huff.

The demon princess pursed her lips and halfheartedly glared at the angel sitting across from her. "It's not Everything I own." She pouted defensively as she absentmindedly plucked Razzle from trying to burrow into her packed clothes.

Vaggie's brow rose at that. She got up from her spot on the floor, next to one of the open bags, and marched over to Charlie's closet door. Throwing it open she gestured at the undeniable evidence of a nearly picked clean closet space. Charlie fidgeted with the end of her hair and Vaggie couldn't help but melt. 'How could the princess of Hell be this fuckin cute all the time? It is completely unfair.'

"Yeah, well- uhm... I..." She eyed all of her bags apprehensively as her knee bounced.

The angel walked back and settled in her lover's lap to calm her nerves. Automatically Charlie placed her hands on her waist to keep her there. 'As if I would move from this very comfortable position.' Vaggie smiled and reached up to boop Charlie's small black nose. "What's going on in that blonde head of yours? I know you usually overthink things, but this is a little excessive, even for you."

She saw that Razzle was poking around the other luggage now and looking for an opening to "sneak" into so he wouldn't be left behind. So, there would be no help from him.

Charlie looked down at the woman in her lap and shook her head to try and clear her self-depreciating thoughts. She was worried about so many things. Her brain seemingly taking pleasure in replaying all her doubts since meeting with her dad. "I was just thinking about how much I'm going to miss you when I'm gone."

It wasn't exactly a lie, but Charlie could see in the way Vaggie pursed her lips that it didn't fly with her girlfriend. Time for a top-tier distraction.

"I know it'll only be for a day or two but I guess I've gotten used to being able to reach out and hug you." Charlie tightened her hold on Vaggie with a warm squeeze on her hips. She felt her partner tense in her lap.

'Oh no, she is not distracting me from this.'

"Or kiss you." Charlie leaned down and swiped her tongue through her girlfriend's open lips in a shallow taste. She pulled at Vaggie's lower lip with her fangs. Enjoying the feel of her heart picking up speed in excitement against her own chest.

'Damn her.'

"Or touch you." Charlie heatedly whispered against Vaggie's mouth as her claws carefully dragged their way up and under her shirt. Feeling the angel shiver with her words and movements. "Whenever I want to."

'Fuuuck...'

Vaggie groaned against her demon's hot mouth. She savored the fire and cinnamon that was purely Charlie as she firmly pressed back into the kiss. She shifted around a bit to be in a better position as one hand came up to rub little circles into the sensitive point of her shoulder and the other ghosted teasingly against Charlie's white button down. Where her heart beat rapidly in time with Vaggie's own. With a need for air the couple parted briefly, panting, and their eyes met. Heated. Desperate. Loving. It was enough to ignite the smoldering feeling in Vaggie's core.

"Fine, you win." Vaggie huffed, pulling away slightly to glare at her girlfriend, even as her fingers began working the buttons of Charlie's shirt. "We're in for a long night, and it's your fault, because you are absolutely NOT leaving here with more than two bags tomorrow. No matter how long this takes."

Charlie grinned, her fangs showing, as Vaggie nudged her shirt off her shoulders to trail kisses down her neck. "Totally worth it," she muttered even as Vaggie nipped her once in rebuke.

Off to the side Razzle had succeeded in slipping into one of the suitcases. He would probably fall asleep there and have to be dug out later.

The silver-haired angel lovingly made sure to leave several marks on the princess's shoulder and chest, lower down than normal, so that they wouldn't be visible when Charlie stood in front of all the Sins tomorrow. Leaning back to check her work only gave Charlie the opportunity to even the playing field. The blonde demon yanked her shirt up and over her head and immediately took charge. Vaggie let her with heated anticipation.

A low rumble built in Charlie's chest as she palmed Vaggie's breasts with firm but gentle fingers. The angel gasped as her thumbs circled in tandem around pert nipples.

Not content with only that the princess pressed in for a fierce kiss. Her tongue delving deep into her lover's waiting mouth. Charlie became more insistent, barely pulling back to take a breath, and leaving the angel lightheaded and reeling.

Scraping her nails across the sensitive skin the demon princess was able to draw out the most delicious noises from her partner. "Ahh, Charlie~" Vaggie panted. Her hands roved blindly over Charlie's back and clung to her shoulders. The sweet sounds of pleasure were swallowed up and savored as she was already imagining tasting another hot, wet, place Vaggie loved her tongue to be.

The lavender skinned woman rolled her hips against Charlie's lap, searching for friction.

"You're so beautiful, Vaggie." The blonde said reverently as she finally broke off with a pull at the angel's lower lip.

For just a moment the two lovers stared at each other. Charlie, with her open shirt pulled halfway down her arms, and one hand dipping just beneath the skirt hem of the panting angel in her lap. Vaggie, fingers tangled in long blonde hair, and single eye silently begging.

Charlie grinned devilishly before fully sliding her hand beneath Vaggie's favorite black skirt. It seems all too quick after that. Time blurring together the final night they had. She leaned in, fangs flashing in the lamplight, and brushing against Vaggie's neck. Charlie was sure to take advantage of not needing to worry about hiding marks on her girlfriend's skin. Sucking dark bruises and focusing on the pulse pounding under the demon's tongue.

At the same time her skilled fingers set to work making her angel come undone in the most beautiful way.

Wet. Heat. Slick fingers moving with ease and loving familiarity.

Vaggie moving on top of her. Hips thrusting in a comfortable rhythm until...

Charlie curls her fingers to hit just the right spot. It's all a colorful blur as Vaggie shudders, and attempts to muffle the sounds of her orgasm, burying her head in Charlie's chest.

An hour later. Two hours later... and true to her word... Vaggie and Charlie have cleaned themselves up and are on to the task of the princess's luggage disaster.

The next morning found the couple entangled with each other more than usual as they ran through breakfast and an early session for a few of the hotel residents.

Charlie had barely been released from Vaggie's grip since they woke up in each other's arms. It made spreading jam on her toast a bit difficult but it was a small price to pay to offer comfort to her girlfriend. Both were feeling kinda nervous since this was the first time since Vaggie had fallen to Hell that she would basically be without Charlie for more than a day. Even when the fallout happened between them after getting back from Heaven, and Charlie was still upset with her, they were still under the same roof.

In return Vaggie continually made small reassurances to her nervous girlfriend about accompanying Lucifer to the meeting and trying to calm her down. Stepping more into her official role and duties was quite a bit different than facing down Cannibal Town, and the grouchy Susan, to convince them to fight the angels alongside the hotel.

"Don't worry, mi Princesa." Vaggie squeezed her hand in a calming gesture once they'd retreated to their room before Lucifer was supposed to arrive. Which, considering his track record, he may or may not even be on time. "From what your dad said it sounds like a big family reunion where they just complain and grumble at each other and, from what you've told me, most of them seem kinda nice."

Charlie took a deep breath and puffed it out through her nose. She tossed the two bags that Vaggie was able to condense her luggage into, as well as the compromise of her guitar, through the dimensional pocket opening she was able to access.

"It is and they are. I'm not worried about that. No one'll cause a fuss about me attending. It's just..."

Charlie didn't continue that thought right away. Her feelings were all so complicated. The distraction of last night didn't exactly help resolve anything either. It was fun though.

Vaggie grabbed both of Charlie's hands in hers and gripped tightly. She tried to convey as much love and support through the touch as possible. "Charlie, hon, use your words."

The fallen angel smiled encouragingly, using advice from the demon herself.

Worried red eyes met the single concerned look waiting for her. With a forced exhale a wave of tension she didn't even realize she was carrying seeped out of Charlie's body.

The blonde leaned into Vaggie for a moment and buried her face into her partner's shoulder. "It's just... my mom. I'll be taking her spot. What if..." She dug one fang into her lip, shivering as a wave of emotion rolled through her, and pulled Vaggie a little closer. "What if I'm not enough?"

Vaggie quietly waited for her girlfriend to look up again before taking her face in her hands and rubbing her thumbs over those doll-like red cheeks. "Charlie Morningstar, you are beyond amazing. You have done so much good. For me. For the others downstairs. Anyone who says you're not enough is obviously an idiot of Heavenly proportions. So, fuck them."

Charlie chuckled and reached up to lay her hands over Vaggie's.

"I'm proud of you and your dad is proud of you. Your mom will be proud of you when she gets back and sees everything you've been able to accomplish." The angel stared hard into those teary eyes and willed her conviction into her expression.

There was nothing she believed more and she wanted Charlie to believe it too.

Charlie sucked in a breath, somewhat calming herself, and leaned forward pressing her lips against Vaggie's. The kiss was soft and lingering. She didn't want to pull away.

"Thanks, Vaggie, I hope you're right." Charlie leaned back, placing a more innocent kiss on the angel's scarred palm, before letting her hand go.

"Of course I'm right." Fisting the hand, almost like she could hold onto the feeling, Vaggie smirked playfully and lightened her tone. She started heading to their door to meet Lucifer downstairs. He should be here any minuet, if he managed to be on time. "I'm right all the time. You just like to make things hard and refuse to admit it."

The taller demon cocked her eyebrow with a challenging grin. "Oh, I don't think so. What about our third date?" Charlie chased her teasing girlfriend out of the room and down the stairs.

By the time the girls reached the top of the landing on the second floor they were smiling and holding hands again. Charlie was running through some last-minute things for the hotel while she was gone. Nevermind that Vaggie had been by her side and helping take charge in everything she did and more than knew the routine.

But, that didn't stop Charlie from worrying about everyone else anyway.

She was ticking points off her fingers and frantically trying not to forget anything important as they walked. The king had actually been on time today and the two could already hear both him and the Radio Demon from the lobby.

"Well, if it isn't our height deficient majesty come to whisk the princess away."

"Shut it, Bambi, before I need to remind you who you're talking to."

The two women made it to the ground floor and indeed found Lucifer and Alastor nose to nose in another argument as insults continued to fly back and forth. Husk and Angel Dust were on the sidelines watching it play out like a tennis match.

The princess turned to Vaggie with a lopsided grin, and roll of her eyes, then opened her mouth to say something else...

Then there was a flare of golden power and screeching radio static that interrupted them. Then something shattered on the ground.

"Oi, mierda, tu dos." Vaggie shot daggers at the feuding pair and then down to the broken lamp pieces on the floor. "Not again."

Alastor stepped back, making a show of dusting nonexistent dirt from his coat, and eyeing the two women from across the room. Lucifer looked up from his guilty expression, staring down at the broken lamp, to see his daughter watching him with clear frustration.

It was clear neither was aware they'd had an audience.

"Ladies."

"Charlie, dear. Vaggie... eh-hah..."

Angel chuckled and Husk just rolled his eyes. The observers greeted the new arrivals as both men turned away from one another with only mild glares and growls in each other's direction. 'At least that's progress,' Charlie thought with a shake of her head. 'A few weeks ago they'd be at each other's throats whether I was standing here or not.'

The Radio Demon left Lucifer to clean up the broken lamp. 'Let him be good for something, after all.' Alastor twirled his radio mic and stepped forward with a mildly annoyed twitching in his eye. Quickly he got hold of his temper again. The diminutive Fallen pushed every one of his buttons but he detested any thought of showing his irritation. "Good afternoon, princess. I see you're ever ready to wow the leaders of the other Rings. Practically stepping into the Queen's own shoes."

The words were encouraging but his sardonic tone made Charlie's gut clench and the anxious feelings Vaggie had managed to chase away returned with a vengeance. "Thanks, uh, Alastor. That's nice of you." Her hands fisted at her side but she smiled weakly at the red Sinner.

Lucifer pushed past, after magicking the lamp back together, and wrapped his daughter in a warm hug. "Hey, kiddo, eh... sorry. That kinda got out of hand. Hello, Vaggie... uh, the lamp is fixed. So, don't worry about that. Heheh." The king nervously gestured back to the side table and previously broken lamp. The last thing he wanted was to leave any trouble for his daughter's girlfriend right before stealing Charlie away.

Vaggie just ran a hand over her face and sighed. "Thank you, sir. Though it would be nice if you and Alastor didn't try and maim each other at every opportunity."

She glared at the deer demon in question as well.

Sighing in fond exasperation Charlie rolled her eyes at her exuberant father as he finally let her go and she could breathe again. "Dad, what is with you and Alastor all the time? Do you have to antagonize each other?"

"Sorry, Duckie." Lucifer quickly, and without any conviction, apologized for the argument. He then raised his arm in preparation to open another portal. "We'll arrive a little early, of course, but in the meantime we'll be at Asmodeus's. If you're ready, that is." The king was about to make the connection to the Lust territory but then he paused his magic with a soft smile. His daughter had turned on her heel and grabbed her girlfriend into a tight embrace.

"Okay, remember, Angel has to limit his drinking and Husk already agreed to the limit. Don't let them deny it. (Ahh, come on, Chars. Angel whined in the background.) Niffty is convinced a queen bug is in the basement. If you don't see her for more than a day you should probably search there. If you need them, I have more lesson ideas in the bottom drawer of my desk. I...mrphh..."

The silver haired angel leaned up and placed her lips firmly over Charlie's rambling mouth. Sometimes it was the only way to shut her down when her mind started going 100 mph.

The blonde woman nearly pulled her off her feet in response, with her arms tightening around Vaggie's shoulders, and deepening the kiss. Angel's annoying wolf whistle is what separated them at last. Vaggie squeezed in one more hug before stepping out of the embrace.

"Don't worry, babe, we got this. I'll keep everything running smoothly here." Vaggie did her best to assure her anxious lover.

Charlie took a deep breath. Her smile was filled with love and warmth as she felt her dad waiting behind her but couldn't manage to tear her eyes off her partner. "I know. You'll take care of everything, Vaggie. You always do. Even when I make things hard, I always have you." She bent down to peck Vaggie on the lips again. Very reluctant to let her go.

"It's time, Charlie." Lucifer chuckled and placed a hand on his daughter's shoulder to guide her back. If he could assume anything based on how he and Lilith used to be then these lingering goodbyes could last for an hour.

"Sorry, Dad." Charlie blushed heavily and reluctantly released the younger angel from her hold. She let him pull her away a few steps.

Angel came up and ruffled her hair. "Enjoy your vaycay, Princess, and if you're not too busy rubbin' elbows... get me an autograph from the Big Cock down there, yeah?" He snickered as Charlie playfully batted him away. Angel went and stood next to Husk, who only nodded to her, and that seemed to be all that was needed from the usually grumpy bartender to nearly send Charlie into tears again.

Lucifer chuckled good-naturedly and raised his hand for the portal again. "Now, are you ready for this, little lady?"

"No," she nervously squeaked, but then her eyes found Vaggie's again.

Charlie took a deep, bracing, breath. A flare of determination lit in her eyes and she grabbed Lucifer's arm that he had offered her. "Yeah, ready as I'll ever be."

The King of Hell nodded back supportively and, as he opened the golden portal, Charlie took one last look at Vaggie and the hotel. Even Alastor was still waiting in the background and watching them. Then without further second guessing could occur she followed her father, stepping through the gateway, and into the Lust Ring.

Next Chapter:

"Are you okay?! Why haven't you been answering your phone?" Bee gave Charlie a shake around the shoulders.

"Oh, well... my phone was kind of... buried under my hotel." Charlie rushed through the explanation as the air was squeezed out of her. Bee hooking her under the arms and squeezing the life out of her.

"Buried under..." Bee began. "Those pissy little-" Her eyes glowed pure magenta.
