"This is a travesty."

"I agree, there is absolutely no way this won't go poorly." I looked at Peter, the defeat and anxiety in his eyes matching what I felt.

Ned shrugged, "I'm sure it won't be that bad."

"Oh, it will be. I, for one, am looking greatly forward to it. And all the opportunities I'll have for sketching in my crisis notebook."

Peter shot her a dirty look, "Thanks, MJ. So comforting."

I slumped down into my chair, "Despite being the Avengers they are not good at subterfuge. They're going to blow my cover. And probably kill Flash."

Peter's eyes widened, "Omg, I didn't even think of Flash!"

MJ piped up, "Don't worry about Flash, I'll take care of that problem."

"What if you just didn't get your permission slips signed?"

I looked at Ned, "Oh yeah, that'll go well when the Midtown group shows up at the tower and Dad and the others realize Peter and I aren't with them, despite knowing full well that we attend that school. Especially if he sees you and MJ on the trip. No, they'll somehow find a way to make it even worse if we aren't around to attempt damage control. Plus, we'll get in trouble with Mr. Harrington."

Peter sighed, "We're going to need some inside help, aren't we?"

I caught his eye and nodded. "Yep, and we both know who that means, don't we."

Peter nodded in agreement.

Ned looked between the two of us, "Wait, who are we talking about?"

"Hi Pepper, do you have a moment?"

Pepper looked up from her desk, putting down the piece of paper she'd been reading, and gave us a warm smile, "Of course, anything for you two, come on in."

I pushed a nervous Peter in ahead of me, closed the door behind us and told FRIDAY to turn off in the room, earning a raised brow from Pepper as she asked, "What is this about?"

Peter and I exchanged glances and I opened my mouth to speak, but was cut off by Peter, "Pepperyouhavetostopthem oh this is so notgood and they'regoingtokill—they'regoing to killourchancesof beingnormal and they'regoingtoembarrassus and pleaseyouhavetohelp!"

Pepper nodded slowly then turned to me with an amused expression, "And the context of that is?"

Rolling my eyes at Peter, I explained, "Our Science Tech teacher is starting the semester with a trip to Stark Industries. Everyone in our grade is coming and it's a mandatory trip unless your guardian sends in a note explicitly refusing to allow you to come. Obviously neither May or Dad will do that, which means we'll have to get the forms signed, everyone is going to know we are coming, and well…"

Pepper sighed knowingly, "They tend to get overexcited."

Peter nodded rapidly. "Nottomention thereactions of thestudents to our superhighclearances. Whatifthey figureoutthatI'mSpiderman!"

"Well, the clearances are easy enough. I will give you both intern access cards—"

"No can do for me, the story at school is that my dad works here, they just obviously think it's some rando scientist not Tony Stark himself, but anyone who has shared a science class with me will know that there's no way I have a position here."

"Yeah, everyone knows she sucks at science." Peter turned to me guiltily, "Nooffense."

I shrugged, "No worries, it's a fair statement."

Pepper thought for a moment, "Okay, so Peter gets a Personal Intern access card, and you can get a Level 1 Regular Visitor pass— the ones we normally give to any outside relations to staff that for whatever reason do need to drop by every so often since it saves time checking them in for each visit. It's an access level that connects to FRIDAY so she tracks and maintains constant supervision while the visitors are in the building. I will also instruct FRIDAY, and all staff members, to treat you as though those are your actual access levels during the trip."

"Awesome, thanks Pepper."

She grinned, "Now, about everyone else… I will do what I can to have them sent out of the building, maybe on a SHIELD mission, however even if I can manage that, I have a feeling Tony, and possibly James, will refuse. What day is the trip? And when do the permission forms need to be handed in?"

"The trip is on Wednesday, so just over 2 weeks from now. Permission forms at latest must be handed in by this Friday."

"Hmm, okay. Well, we'll wait until Thursday night to have Tony sign your form, Y/N, but Peter I think you'll be fine to get May to sign yours right away. That gives everyone else slightly less time to come up with some shenanigans, and gives me a bit more time to talk to Maria about getting a mission assigned before they know about the trip."

"Thanks, Pepper."

Peter quickly joined in, "Yes, thanks Pepper, you'rethebest!"

She chuckled, "I know that, but no one tell Tony, he'll get a complex. Now if that's all, Peter if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to speak to Y/N for just a moment more."

Peter nodded and quickly sped from the room. I looked questioningly at Pepper, "What's up?"

"It's nothing major, I just realized that Tony never gave me a copy of your schedule for the new semester, and was hoping you could give me that information? We both know there's a high likelihood of his copy being lost. And that anyone else who wants to know about it will just come ask me."

I grinned, "True enough."

I dug in my bag and pulled out the paper, passing it over to her. She looked over it and tsked, "They really do have a lot of science classes, don't they."

I sighed, "It's not called Midtown School of Science and Technology for nothing."

It really wasn't. I had homeroom with Peter, Ned, MJ, R, ose, Betty, Liz, and Flash. Then Science Technology with all of them, Geography with none of them, Computer Science with Ned and Betty, Visual Arts with MJ. Lunch with everyone. Then the afternoon was Biology II with Peter, Algebra with Flash, then Media Studies with Liz, Rose, and MJ before ending the day once more with Health and PE with all of them. The amount of painful science-y type courses I had to sit through were slowly going to kill me. I just knew it. After just one week of the new semester, I had started debating asking Dad to transfer me to a normal high school for next year, though I would miss my friends for sure. And wasn't really sure I wanted the whole New Kid experience again…

Pepper scanned the schedule into the computer then passed it back to me, a look of concern on her face, "By the way, I don't think I've followed up in awhile with how you were doing at school? You fitting in okay and everything? I know it was a big change for you."

I put a smile on my face, "Yep, everything's good. Having Peter, MJ and Ned when I first started was a big help I think, and then making a few of my own friends too, so, it's all good."

She eyed me carefully but let me go, turning back to her paperwork as I escaped into the hall. As I headed back up to the penthouse, all I could think about was how much I was hoping her plan for the field trip would pay off. We could not risk exposing Peter as Spiderman, or myself as Tony's daughter. Or do anything to get Peter more bullied by Flash. Though I did hope there would maybe be a few interactions that might just shut up the entitled jerk.
