Author's Note: Alright so I had this idea because you've seen almost everything for drunk Jaune marriage's but I hadn't seen this yet so after talking with a few people I set about writing it, and well here it is. I have no update schedule as I'm super busy with real life but I'll try to update as often as I can. This is my first Fanfiction so any helpful criticism is appreciated.
A/N part 2: I have updated with some grammatical fixes and a few details being more well detailed. Enjoy!
Schnee Manor
Jacques Schnee was many things. He was cold, calculating, and vindictive especially when he got upset, and right now it was showing. He had just gotten off a call with some of the SDC security officers and well it wasn't a good call. Another mining camp had been attacked and it's personnel thoroughly slaughtered by those damn Faunas. On top of that catastrophe he still had a call with General Ironwood he needed to make. No doubt it would be Ironwood encouraging him to give a discount to the Atlas Kingdom as it was a matter of "national security." Did the man take him for a fool? He must've to keep pushing arguments like that.
Reaching over he pushed the buzzer on his desk, "Klein! Bring me my coffee. I got this blasted call with Ironwood and I'm going to need some Atlas Black to help me get through it."
"Yes sir Mr. Schnee." Came the reply through the speaker.
"Good, now I just need to focus more on those damn White Fang animals." Jacques spoke to himself as he began to draw up new fees for added security to Dust Shipments, and figure out how to replace the mining camp and personnel lost.
A few minutes passed and still no one had appeared with the coffee he had requested. Becoming even angrier than he already was thanks to the White Fang information Jacques stood up from his desk and began walking to the door shouting "Klein where the hell is my coffee! It's been-"
That was all he managed to get out however, before pain in his left arm became evident and the world began to spin before he collapsed to the floor, landing with a heavy thud. Only one minute passed before a short, slightly heavyset man with brown hair and a large mustache burst through the door with a mug of hot coffee in hand. The doorway was as far as the coffee made it as the mug was promptly dropped and shattered upon seeing Jacques lying still on the floor.
Klein shouted for someone to call an ambulance and go get Mrs. Schnee herself, as he rushed over to Jacques' body and he began checking for a pulse and any signs of breathing. Finding no pulse, and no breathing he began to administer CPR even though he knew it was likely all in vain.
After a few minutes Willow Schnee appeared in the doorway. Willow was a relatively fair-skinned woman with slate-blue eyes. She had her white hair tied up in a bun, while still letting some of her bangs hang around the left side of her face with another small curled lock of hair reaching almost to her shoulders.
"Give it up Klein, he's already gone. Inform Beacon I'll be traveling there and get a bullhead prepped. I think it'll be best if I inform Weiss of this in person."
Beacon Academy
It was your usual normal day at Beacon, or well as normal as could be. Team RWBY was in their room and all were doing well what you'd expect them to. Ruby was in her bunk completely engrossed in a new weapons magazine she got recently. Weiss was at her desk studying for their Grimm anatomy test next week. Yang was brushing her hair in the bathroom and Blake, well she was in her bunk reading the newest Ninjas Of Love book. Suddenly there was a knock at the door.
Weiss, noticing the other three members of her team were too engrossed to notice, asked "Is anyone going to get that?" Instead of a reply there was simply another knock at the door. With a humph Weiss got up mumbling "Fine I'll get it."
When she opened the door however it was someone she could genuinely say she wasn't expecting. Standing in the doorway stood not a certain member of Team JNPR like she had come to expect but her own mother. Expecting the dork of a knight across the hall she was already upset but seeing her Mother only made it worse. "What are you doing here Mother? I'm surprised you're able to tear yourself away from the bottle to even be here." Weiss said with a chill in her voice.
This comment, unlike the knocking on the door earlier, did gain the attention from her teammates as they looked up from their current activities hearing the cold tone Weiss used.
"Well dear daughter, I came to speak with you."
"What, you couldn't say it over a call? Or have you drank so much you forgot how to use a scroll? Or I know maybe father finally kicked you out and shipped you off so the press can't see your embarrassing alcoholic tendencies anymore."
Trying to not let her daughter's cold words get to her Willow said "It's good to know you think so highly of your only remaining parent dear daughter. Well I'll be going now though so don't worry. It seems I'm not welcome to even spend time with my own daughter." After finishing her sentence Willow started briskly walking down the hall towards the bullhead docks hoping no one could notice the tears beginning to form in her eyes, feeling the urge for a stiff drink coming on.
"Weiss, don't you think that was a little harsh? I mean that was your mom. I know I'd want to see my mom again." Ruby said in a sad tone.
"Ruby, it's not like that, mother just, mother really wasn't the best mother growing up." Weiss replied.
"Well I can tell you she's better than my mother. At least yours didn't run off after you were born, never to be seen again." Yang added.
"Actually I think everyone is missing the point of why Weiss' mom was here." Blake commented.
"What do you mean kitty cat?" questioned a confused Yang.
"She said "It's good to know you think so highly of your only remaining parent.""
They all turned back towards Weiss as the realization of what Weiss' mom had said finally dawned on all of them.
"Father is... Father is dead?"
Suddenly a red blur slammed into Weiss as she was tackled to the ground and enveloped in a hug. "Oh my gosh Weiss, I'm so sorry!" Ruby said, trying to comfort a now obviously upset Weiss. She was soon joined as Blake and Yang came over to help comfort their teammate as well.
Meanwhile somewhere in Vale
"Hey Ren, we're free to do what we want tonight cause Pyrrha and Nora are off doing girl stuff right?" Jaune said, looking over to his teammate.
"Yeah why, what did you have in mind?" Ren asked.
"Well seeing as the drinking age in Vale just got lowered for Huntsman in training, wanna go get a drink?" Jaune replied.
"You know this isn't gonna end well right?" came his teammates' reply.
"Look, let's just get a few drinks then go back. There's a place near here that looks good, it just opened recently too." Jaune said as he pointed towards the bar in front of them.
"The Roost huh? Fine but just a few drinks." Ren said as they walked inside and approached the bar.
"What can I get you young hunters?" said the bartender as he saw the duo approaching.
"Just something light for now for both of us please." Said the blonde knight.
"Sure thing kid. You two heard of a drink named strawberry sunrise? No? Here, try one then." The bartender said as he slid the two drinks down the bar.
Jaune and Ren looked at each other before they picked up the drinks and took a sip. "Not bad," Ren said before he turned to see Jaune drinking the rest of his, so he did the same, Soon Jaune ordered another round, and another. A few rounds later Jaune brought up the question of what is with him and Nora and their together but not together-together thing.
"What do you mean? Nora and I are just friends" Ren replied in slurred words.
Jaune, who hadn't gotten completely drunk yet, began to explain to him how obvious the affection was and how he should go for it.
"But we're just together, we aren't together together, she's already said that." Ren replied
"Dude she totally likes you, but just like you she can't admit it. Just go ask her out."
"You really think so, Jaune?"
"Ren, you're like the brother I've never had. I wouldn't lie to you."
"I'll go do it then!" An unusually ecstatic Ren replied before getting up and sprinting towards and out the door.
"Aw, crap. I should've told him to wait, eh he'll be fine, it's Ren after all." Jaune said before sighing and turning back to grab his drink again before realizing it was empty.
"Barkeep, can I get something stronger, I'm gonna need it."
Before the barkeep could respond however, a feminine voice spoke next to Jaune.
"You had a rough day too?"
"Not really it wasn't that ba-" Jaune began but then stopped as he turned and saw an absolutely gorgeous woman moving to sit down in the seat Ren had just left.
He just kept staring at this new mysterious beauty that had taken the seat beside him trying to comprehend everything that was going on until the woman spoke saying "Hello Remnant to Mr. Huntsman?"
Jaune was now a blushing mess as he began to stammer out an apology only to stop as he noticed her eyes. They were dull and void of seemingly all emotion, something Jaune was familiar with after seeing one of his sisters in a similar state after they caught her boyfriend cheating on her.
Noticing Jaune's somewhat confused and concerned stare the woman decided to speak up "Is something wrong?"
"Your eyes, they're dull and emotionless. I... I've seen before with one of my sisters, what happened?"
"Something bad, something I shouldn't bother a stranger with."
"Hey come on now, don't be like that. After all, my mother always says "Strangers are just friends you haven't met yet. I'm Jaune Arc by the way, short, sweet rolls of the tongue, ladies love it."
"Do they now?" The woman replied stifling a small giggle at the way the blonde knight fell a little at the comment. "I'm Willow by the way."
"Nice to meet you Willow. So, you want me to lend an ear so you can tell me what happened"
"Sorry to interrupt you two but here's your drinks. I gave you both a house specialty. It's called the Hunter's Mark. Enjoy!"
"Ah thank you barkeep. Now Jaune this is not a very happy story so you might want to take a few sips with me as I tell the story."
Hearing this Jaune started to take a few sips noticing the strange but good taste of the drink as Willow began her story.
"You see Jaune, I was married until very recently, just a few days ago when my former husband passed away."
"Oh no, I'm so sor-"
"Don't. Don't be sorry." Willow said, cutting him off, "That man was a monster, he never loved me nor our children. He only saw us all as a means to an end. That's all our marriage was, he made clear his "love" for me through his beatings. Something wouldn't go his way during a meeting, stock prices or earnings wouldn't meet expectations and he'd always take it out on me."
"That's horrible, no one should have to go through that." Jaune replied.
"You have no idea. I turned to the bottle to help drown out the pain, but my children eventually thought of me as only a drunkard who never did anything. I became an alcoholic, thanks to a close friend of mine though I got it under control recently but they wouldn't believe me that I had changed. I even flew all the way here from Atlas to see one of my daughters to tell her in person but she just yelled... shouting all sorts of hurtful things..." Willow barely finished speaking as she began to cry, the tears she had barely kept back at Beacon now unable to be held in anymore.
Jaune, seeing this, stood up and wrapped his arms around Willow hugging her to his chest and stroking her back as she continued crying. It was something you often see parents do for their children. After two to three minutes of this Willow finally calmed down and the tears stopped flowing. She pulled out a handkerchief and began to wipe away the tear streaks as a smile came back to her face.
"Thank you Jaune, I really needed that. Now that's enough to talk about the sad things in my life. I came here to be happy and drink so come on let's drink." Willow said before grabbing her glass and taking several gulps. With Jaune quickly following suit.
After they had both finished their drinks any onlooker could tell the pai was visibly intoxicated but not enough to where it would be a problem. It was at this point that Willow ordered another round for both of them, then she turned to Jaune and asked, "Hey Jaune, so why are you here at the bar alone?"
"Oh that, heh well funny story about that. I came here with my teammate but I kind of convinced him with a little help from the alcohol, to go ask out our other teammate which is the girl he likes. They both like each other, but neither will ask the other out because they don't want to get rejected. I can't blame them as I know how that feels."
"Oh come on dear, someone rejected you? Pray tell why they would. You're a very gentle, and caring person, not to mention you aren't bad looking."
"Oh heh thanks Willow, but yeah there was a girl I used to like but she kept turning me down every time I asked. She can be rather cold, that's why our friends like to call her Ice Queen."
"Well Jaune, I'd have to say that girl was an idiot. It's obvious she's missing out." Willow said before leaning in a bit closer towards Jaune's ear and saying "I know I wouldn't if given the chance." Followed up by a wink as she pulled back away from the knight.
Upon hearing and seeing this Jaune nearly did a spit take, as he couldn't believe what he was hearing/seeing.
Seeing Jaune's reaction Willow tried to stifle a laugh but it was to no avail as the laugh came through anyways, much to the blonde knight's visible annoyance.
"Oh come now dear don't be like. A man shouldn't pout like a child over a little tease." Willow said in between laughs.
"Well I didn't think it was that funny." Jaune replied
Willow then grabbed Jaune's drink and handed it to him before picking up her own. "Cheers Jaune. You helped make my day brighter and for that, I thank you." Their glasses clinked together and were soon set down empty. A third round was ordered and subsequently drunk just as fast. The bartender, knowing how strong they were, went back over to check on the duo after a five or so minutes that he spent cleaning up other parts of the bar, only to find enough lien on the bar to cover the cost of their drinks and a sizable tip.
"Huh, well I'm sure they'll be fine." The bartender said as he grabbed a glass and began wiping it down. "After all, one was a huntsman and the lady looked like she could handle herself if needed. What's the worst that could happen?"
