Remaining Players: Lin, Lucille, Brittany, Lila, and Tatiana
"Last time on Total Drama Canadian Travels," Chris began the famous recap. "We took another trip down memory lane as we returned to the Canadian wastelands to see the remains of what was once the Total Drama Jumbo Jet from our third season. It was such a long time ago when that thing was in the air, and yet it still feels like yesterday. I guess you could say time sure flies, huh?"
"Boo…" "That was terrible." Some of the band said from offscreen.
"Anyway… the challenge our final six had was to find a little memento of mine that I had left behind and bring it back to me, which Lucille managed to do, earning herself immunity. Meanwhile, in a stroke of good fortune, Brittany found the Chef Hatchet immunity idol, allowing her to eliminate Brad from the game, rocking the redhead alliance and turning the remainder of this season into a female fight to the finish! We've got five ladies fighting for the prize in what could only be described as the biggest catfight in history, here on Total!
Drama!
Canadian Travels!"
Dear Mom and Dad I'm doing fine,
You guys are on my mind.
You asked me what I wanted to be
and now I think the answer is plain to see,
I wanna be famous.
I wanna live close to the sun,
Go pack your bags, 'cause I've already won,
Everything to prove, nothing in my way
I'll get there one day.
Cause, I wanna be famous!
Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na!
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na! (as can be heard in the background)
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
(Whistling in tune)
Episode 24: Deadly Dining
Toronto, Ontario
Brittany and Lucille
"So. We're in the final five," the mob boss smirked.
"I still can't believe that I've made it this far!" the violinist let out.
"Indeed. Anyway, we should save Tatiana for last since I know you want to get back at her for flirting with your boyfriend. So who should we target next?"
"Lila," Lucille said. "I still don't like the girl, she seems to be 'too perfect.'"
"If we can find that Alexis idol, we can totally use it to save Lin," Brittany smirked.
"I like the way you're thinking," Lucille smiled.
Lin
The small girl paced around her room fervently, a disgruntled look on her face.
'Brad… They just had to pick Brad to vote off! Brittany's going down, I'll make sure of that, no matter how much she wants to brag about her little mob!'
Lila
'Brad was our primary strategist…' Lila thought to herself as she dressed herself for the day. 'Tatiana's intelligent, but having both of them gave us all the assurance that we could win. I'm sure Lin is also ever-so angry about this as well. We can't give up, though, we're ever-so close to the end!'
Tatiana
The tallest girl still in the game had finished getting ready for the day and was now sitting in one of the seats of her room, getting to the end of the book she had been reading since the start of the season.
'Just three more rounds until the finale. We've had the… unfortunate loss of a vital member of our alliance, but the priority is still the same. I've tried my best to follow the guidance of this very book, but now I've run into a hiccup. Those two have proven to be much more difficult to deal with than any of us could have predicted, but the plan remains the same: take them down!'
"Attention ladies! It's time for your challenge! Meet us in the dining hall, asap!" Chris announced over the loudspeaker. "McLean out!"
The girls would make their way to the dining hall, where they would see Chris, Chef, and Alexis, along with a wheel. The wheel would be divided into different sections. The first section would be white; with the logo for the CNE. The second section of the wheel would be grey, with the Canadian flag on it. The third section of the wheel would be red, with Chef's face on it. The fourth section of the wheel would be pink, with Alexis's face on it. The fifth and final section of the wheel would be turquoise, with a golden question mark.
"It's the WHEEL OF FOOD challenge again!" Chris announced. "The rules are simple, one at a time, you spin the wheel, and eat the food that it lands on. If you can't finish the food, refuse to eat, or throw up, then you're out."
"So we've just reached a point where we're re-using challenges from the previous season?" Tatiana asked.
"Hey, it's fine," Chris shrugged. "Now, let's get to it! Lucille! Since you won, you get to spin the wheel first!"
The violinist would eagerly go to the wheel, and spin it. It spun around four times, before landing on the Canadian flag.
"Well, you get to eat some poutine!" Chris announced.
"That sounds delicious," Lucille smiled. "Bring it on!"
Alexis would hand the young woman a bowl of poutine, which she ate easily.
"Let's see…Lin!" Chris announced. "You're next!"
Wasting no moment and without saying a word, Lin spun the wheel. The colors flashed as the wheel spun until finally slowing down and landing on the CNE logo.
"Oh, this will be good. You've got your choice between ketchup or mustard soft serve ice cream. Which will you pick?" Chris asked.
"Both sound disgusting, but ketchup might be the easier choice here." The stealth agent replied, taking the bowl of ketchup flavored ice cream garnished with a French fry neatly placed on top. She grimaced a bit before shoveling a spoonful of the red concoction into her mouth and swallowing.
"Well?" Chris asked.
"It's worse than it looks, but I'd rather have this than that century egg from last season."
"One has to wonder why the Canadian National Exhibition makes these things." Tatiana stated.
"They are known for their weird foods and drinks," Chris smirked. "Anyways, you're up."
"If I must." Tatiana sighed while rolling her eyes. With a rather bored expression, the bookworm spun the wheel, watching in disinterest as it spun around before landing on Chef's face.
With a sinister grin, Chef walked over to Tatiana and handed her a bowl of what appeared to be oatmeal. The sight of it immediately made Tatiana and Lila's eyes widen with horror.
"Why is it… furry? I don't think I've ever seen oatmeal be furry…" Lila asked, her face turning just a bit pale.
"That's cuz it ain't oatmeal!" Chef huffed. "That's potato salad!"
"Potato salad does not look like that," Brittany let out.
"It was supposed to be part of my dinner a couple days ago." Chef admitted with a shrug. "But I forgot about it and it got left out in one of the other hotels we stayed at. A couple guys in hazmat suits brought it over to me talking about how 'it's considered a biological and chemical hazard' and stuff like that. But hey, a little roughage never hurt nobody!"
"You are a sick, sick man…" Charlene shook her head.
"And that's why we love him!" Chris cackled. "So, Tatiana, are you going to eat it? Or will you drop out and risk elimination?"
The bookworm looked over at Lila and Lin with concern before glaring at everyone else as she picked up the spoon that was in the bowl. Her eyes finally landed on Chris with a glare that looked like it could pierce his soul.
"When I die…" She began. "You stay away from my funeral…"
Without another word, Tatiana shut her eyes and began eating what was once potato salad. The fuzzy mold that rested on its surface took a moment to break apart, looking like some sort of cheese spread across the now grey-green potatoes. Each spoonful was met with a disgusted gag by Tatiana while the rest of the girls watched in horror before Tatiana finally finished the bowl.
"Oh man, that is disgusting!" Chris laughed with a wide grin on his face. "Brittany, you're up next!"
The mob boss would spin the wheel, and it spun around five times, before landing on Chef's face again. "Bring it on, Chef."
The large man hummed to himself as he tried thinking of what to give the mob boss before smirking as the light bulb in his head lit up. He hurried over to the hotel kitchen and quickly came out with a can opener and a can of dog food with the label clearly showing its age. Chef emptied the contents of the can into the same bowl Tatiana had just eaten from, filling it back up with brown slop.
The mob boss shrugged, but would sit down to eat it. While she did gag a bit, she managed to hold it in, as she ate the dog food, until the bowl was clean.
"Figured you would either barf or keep it down." Chris commented. "I mean, you do have dogs of your own. Is that why you gave her dog food, Chef?"
"Yup." Chef nodded. "I remembered we had some left over from last season, since that's what we gave the dog she brought with her then. I kept it just in case she brought it again."
"You're lucky I chose not to bring Avalanche, or any of my other four dogs," Brittany smirked.
"Okay, Lila! You're next!" Chris announced. The shorter redhead approached the wheel and spun it with a bit more force than she may have intended as the machine spun for about a full minute before showing signs of slowing down and ultimately landing on the question mark.
"Ohh, interesting!" Chris hummed. "This could be anything, since I let our interns decide what these food items are."
"And thankfully we opted to not give you guys food poisoning." Roderick added. "Or at least not feed you something that could kill you, so we had Alexis include some stuff as well."
As if on cue, the young chef brought out a dish and placed it in front of the soft-spoken girl, revealing it to be a small chocolate lava cake.
"Oh, that's ever-so thoughtful of you all!" Lila said with a smile as she began digging in. "And Alexis, you made something very special, I remember my parents telling me they had something like this on the night they got engaged!"
"Awww," Alexis gushed, smiling.
"Yeah, yeah, real cute." Chris grumbled. "Anyway, that marks the end of the first round! We'll keep going until just one of you lucky ladies is left, so Lucille, it's back to you!"
The violinist approached the wheel, and spun it, and it spun three times, before landing on Chef's face. Her eyes widened, but she gave the man a determined look. "Bring it."
The former army man would smirk and bring out a plate of some sort of goulash that smelled like a combination of bad cheese and an aged tire. Lucille would take a deep breath, before eating the plate, licking it clean. "That was disgusting, but I'm in it to win it." She asserted, covering a gag just a bit.
"Well, you've made it to the next round," Chris smirked. "Lin! You're up next."
Without another word, Lin spun the wheel again. She and the rest of the cast watched as the wheel eventually landed on the question mark.
"Hmm, that's an interesting one…" Chris hummed.
"What do you mean?" Tatiana asked. "Did you not plan out what you were giving us?"
"Eh, some of it was planned. With some of these spaces we're kinda just throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks. In some cases, literally."
"Oh… Fun…" Lin groaned.
Charlene brought out a tin covered dish and placed it in front of Lin, who wasn't really sure how to feel yet. Though her anticipation quickly turned into a bit of relief when Charlene uncovered the dish to reveal…
"Did… Did you guys just buy a Happy Meal from McDonalds?" Jimmy asked as he looked at his bandmates.
"Hey, Chris said to get whatever, so we just went with something that was cheap but at least wouldn't kill these girls."
"On one hand, I'm offended at the fact that it had to be me getting this. But on the other hand, it's at least edible." Lin shrugged as she finished the fast food quickly.
"Okay! Tatiana, you're next!" Chris said.
"Well, if Lin can get something like a Happy Meal, then there has to be some sort of pattern to this challenge." Tatiana mused as she spun the wheel.
"Here's hoping that mean redhead doesn't get anything good," Brittany grumbled as she glanced at Lucille.
"I only just hope for the best," Lucille said softly as the wheel landed on the Canadian flag.
"Okay, so we've got something interesting for you," Chris said. "An extra large double double coffee from Tim Hortons!"
"Coffee, eh? At least it's something simple."
"With a dash of my Mississippi Queen hot sauce!" Chef laughed wickedly.
"Yeah… I noticed!" Tatiana panted, her face turning as red as her hair as her green eyes pierced into Chef.
Chef smirked at her while Lin and Lila glared over at Brittany and Lucille, who were laughing to themselves at the sight.
"S-sorry," Lucille stiffened her laugh as the tallest of the girls placed the empty mug back onto the table.
"D-Done…" She wheezed.
"Okay! Brittany!"
The mob boss would spin the wheel, before it would land on the question mark. Alexis would bring out a plate of macaroni and cheese, drizzled with lots of ketchup.
"Wow. That's a lot of ketchup," the mob boss let out.
"Is that going to stop you from eating it?" Chris asked, his eyebrow raised in intrigue.
"Nope. I drench my macaroni and cheese in more ketchup than this," Brittany smirked.
"Seriously?" Lucille asked.
"Yup," the mob boss confirmed.
"Is she bluffing?" Lila whispered over to Lin.
"Probably." Lin whispered back. "You should know by now that Brittany's pride means a lot to her."
Brittany easily finished the bowl in what felt like half a minute. Once she finished, she glared at the two redheads with a confident smirk.
"Lila!" Chris announced.
"Alright." The redhead nodded, smiling a bit after seeing how most of the others seemed to be having good fortune with their turns. As she spun the wheel, her confidence waned a bit as it landed on Chef's symbol.
Chef Hatchet cackled just a bit, sporting a devilish smile as he brought out a bowl of some sort of reddish-brown goop that had a visible squid tentacle poking out of it and the eye of a fish floating on top.
"Alright, I'll bite…" Tatiana began, with her sporting a look of absolute horror that was shared with the rest of the teens in attendance. "What in God's name is that?"
"I… don't even know what that is either." Chris replied, looking equally unsure. "Chef?"
"This here is my homemade fishing chum! I make this stuff out of the leftover slop I used to serve back when this show was on islands and away from the city. I also mix in some old fish that I wasn't able to sell between seasons."
"You sell fish? Since when?" Chris asked, raising an eyebrow and letting out a chuckle.
"Just on my downtime. Remember when we went fishing between seasons?"
"Oh! That's what that stuff was for!" Chris laughed. "Chef, you never cease to amaze me!"
"And you never cease to horrify us…" Charlene gagged.
"Well, as enlightening as this has been, Lila! Will you eat the chum, or drop out of the challenge?"
All eyes were on the shorter redhead as her eyes were locked on the bowl. Her hands were shaking as she took a step back and raised a hand to her mouth, the skin around her face turning pale as her breathing became more frantic.
"Um, Lila, are you feeling alright?"
Lila refused to answer and simply began hyperventilating for a moment before dropping to her knees and clutching her head in panic. Even Brittany and Lucille began growing concerned as they, Tatiana and Lin stepped closer to try and calm the girl down. Lila's anxiety level reached a breaking point as she suddenly moved her hand away from her mouth and emptied the contents of her stomach onto the floor, much to the disgust of those around her as the other four girls quickly looked away as to not lose their own lunches.
"Oh god…" Lucille let out in sympathy as she shut her eyes to not look over at the mess on the floor.
"And that's one down!" Chris announced. "Which is right on time, since now I get to announce my special twist!"
"What now, McLame?" Brittany grumbled. "Can't you see that Lila just got sick?! What kind of sick twist do you have planned now?!"
"I think you're going to like this one, actually! With Lila now eliminated from the challenge, she's also now eliminated from the contest! That's right, this is a sudden death challenge, ladies!"
Lucille's jaw nearly fell to the floor with how fast it flopped open. "Holy. Crap."
"So then…?" Lila chirped as she regained just a bit of her composure.
"Yup! You're out! But, hey, if it makes you feel any better, being a loser in 5th place is just as bad as being a loser in last!" Chris smirked.
"That doesn't help at all…"
Lila, Lin, and Tatiana
"Well that was a disaster." Lin sighed. She and the other girls waited in the women's restroom while Lila cleaned herself up.
"I'll say." Tatiana added. "It's like things just completely fell apart once Tracy and Dante left."
"Just like last season, we're quickly heading to the worst case scenario." The shortest of the three noted.
"You girls can do it though. It's not over yet." Lila chimed in, smiling at the two.
"Maybe, but it's not going to be easy." Tatiana shook her head, giving her friend a sympathetic look. "Sorry you had to go out this way. A sudden rule bomb like that just isn't right."
"It's fine, truly, I think… I think I'm happier going down like this now than stressing out about those two and worrying about what could happen if it was just the three of us if we did beat them."
"You mind telling us what happened back there? You kinda broke down once Chef brought down that gunk and, honestly, I think you've dealt with worse." Lin asked.
"Well, it goes back to when I had first moved to New York. Just like how everyone sees me as this perfect girl, it tends to bring some negative attention, specifically out of jealousy. Some local girls from back then bought a bunch of old fish and ground it all up before dumping it on me and forcing me to eat it. Ever since then I just can't stomach fish at all. I've tried to work past it, but it's still a work in progress. In a way, it's ironic though, even here some of the other contestants thought I was this perfect girl and it's that one imperfection of me hating fish that nobody could have guessed that ended up being the reason I lost."
"So what are you planning on doing now?" Tatiana asked.
"Well, I did lose the game but, in a way, I found that confidence that I was looking for. I'm not worried about fighting back against people that see me as a problem or have an issue with who I am anymore, and I have you two and Brad to thank for that!"
"You're definitely an oddball, Lila." Lin chuckled with a shake of her head.
"Still, I think I should be asking you two the same question. What are you planning on doing now? You two have to go up against Brittany and Lucille and the finale is right around the corner."
"That's going to be tricky." Tatiana sighed. "But we're down, not out. Those two have another thing coming if they think beating us will be easy with you gone."
"You say that, but just know that we're up against Brittany, and nothing is ever easy with her around." Lin grimaced.
Brittany and Lucille
"Damn, Chris is cold-blooded," Brittany growled.
"But…at least another of our enemies are gone…still, it's pretty rough how she was taken out of the game…" Lucille let out quietly.
"Oh yeah…it reminds me of how you got out last season," Brittany let out, as the violinist pouted.
"Yeah…that wasn't fun at all," Lucille sighed.
"But now, you're no-longer bound by the wheelchair, and you're happier," Brittany smiled a little.
"I guess you're right," Lucille smiled back.
"Attention ladies! It's time for Lila to board the Bus of Losers! McLean out!"
"I'm gonna say bye to her," Lucille said.
"Whatever," the mob boss shrugged.
The Bus of Losers pulled up to the front of the hotel, where Lila was already waiting with Lin and Tatiana. Chris stood with the young ladies, sporting his usual smile.
"Well, Lila, anything you want to say before you go?"
"Honestly? No." Lila smiled back at him. "I've told my friends all that I need to say and wished them luck for the next challenge. There's nothing more I need to say."
"Ugh, that's so boring!" Chris groaned. Just as Lila stepped onto the bus, the door to the hotel opened.
"Wait! Lila, I need to say something before you go!" Lucille let out, as she stepped down the stairs. The three girls gave Lucille a skeptical look as Lila stepped off of the bus.
Lucille took a deep breath. "First off…I'm sorry how you're being taken out of the game. It stinks that you're eliminated just because of that. It kind of reminds me of how I was taken out last season. I'm also sorry about holding onto your necklace. Honestly, that night, I was gonna return it to you, but it was really late in the night." Once she said her piece, she glanced over at Lin and Tatiana. "Now, as for the two of you…don't think I'm giving up this easily. I'm gonna make it to the end."
"Well, Lucille, I'm still quite not sure if I should believe you, let alone trust you." Lila began. "But I appreciate the fact that you came out here and decided to be upfront with us before I left. However, I also hope you know that this won't be easy for you, either. I know in my heart of hearts that both Lin and Tatiana will do everything in their power to make sure you and Brittany lose. Will they be able to do that? Who knows. But I want you to go to bed tonight, and go through the rest of the game knowing this; from everything that has happened this season, I know a lot of people are going to be affected by this, for better or worse. Which will it be for you?"
With that said, Lila stepped onto the bus again and allowed it to leave. The three remaining girls stood in silence before Tatiana spoke up, looking right at Lucille with an unreadable expression.
"She's right, you know. Things aren't going to end well for everyone, regardless of what happens and who wins."
"Well, Lila should be glad that I kept her necklace safe for her that night," Lucille said.
"This isn't about her necklace." Lin noted. "Not anymore. She has it back now and that's what matters. But now it's just the three of us and Brittany. Two against two. Teaming with her brought you this far, but is it really going to give you what you want?"
Lucille would bite her lip. "I really do want to prove myself…"
"And what will you be proving, and to whom?" Tatiana pressed, narrowing her eyes.
"To Joseph, to prove to him that I'm worthy enough to be his tribal queen. That is, if he wins that tribal chief competition," Lucille let out, narrowing her own eyes and staring right back at Tatiana. "And to you, that I can beat you!"
"Tough words." The bookworm scoffed. "Let's see if you can live up to them."
The three headed back inside, with Lucille being the last as she watched Lin and Tatiana go, her glare locked onto Tatiana before leaving.
"Ohh, those two girls really hate each other!" Chris said with glee. "But we now have our final four! Can Lucille shock the world and prove that she's tough enough to win it all? Will Brittany continue her dominance and return to the finale? Can Lin head to the finale and do better than she did last season? Or will Tatiana blindside everyone and take down all three veterans?
