Yellow Experience

Right, welcome to the next chapter of Yellow Experience! Last chapter was focused more on one individual, this chapter will have a greater focus on bringing forward the plot in time. Without further ado, let's get into it.

I do not own JoJo's Bizarre Adventure or Assassination Classroom

Chapter 5: Midterm exams

That day was the day of the school-wide assembly taking place once in a month. Haruno and Karma skipped it entirely, unable to give a damn about it. If they had attended, they would've been passively looked down on by both the student and the teacher bodies.

"What did we miss?" the delinquents asked, their classmates and teachers returning from the assembly.

"Nothing, really." Isogai answered, displaying his palms upwards. "Just the usual discrimination from everyone else."

"Thought so." the redhead chuckled, shrugging casually. "Good thing we didn't waste any time then, right Haruno-kun?"

"Yeah, let's just go." the blond said, walking back to class. Inside the assembly hall he would've experienced even harsher ridicule for being a former Class A student. It goes without saying that the Stand user could easily ignore the ridicule, but not having to hear it was even better, that stuff was so~ beneath him.

Later that day, before the school day's end, Nagisa and Haruno encountered Chairman Asano, who visited Korosensei in the old school building on the mountain.

"Hello there Haruno-kun." Asano greeted with a cold fake smile. "How's your new class?"

"Perfectly fine." the blond answered, grinning coolly. "What, did you expect me to become miserable here?"

"Oh no, not that. You see, you're one of the best students I've ever had. I'm worried about your grades and intelligence level plummeting after associating with Class E."

"So you think I can't adapt?"

Like in many past encounters of these domineering and well-spoken males, the dialogue turned into an intense battle of stares, one trying to read the other before vice-versa. Realizing once again that neither would give in, Mr. Asano decided to stop the duel of stares. "Ah, whatever, I'm looking forward to the midterm exams. Do your best."

The chairman turned his view to the other Class E student, putting on an even faker smile. "You too, do your best!"

With that, Asano Gakuhou left the old school building.

This callousness made the bluenette's heart pound and self-esteem drop. He wasn't seen as an assassin, but rather as a student of the E Class. At least his friend used to be an elite student, so the elitist chairman would naturally treat him with a little more respect.

"Don't worry Nagisa, let's show this arrogant prick in the midterm exams that he shouldn't look down on you." the delinquent spoke, hoping to raise his friend's self-esteem again. Guys like the chairman who intentionally wanted to keep others down, he really hated them.

Nagisa wasn't so sure about that. Thanks to Korosensei's help he studied better, but he had yet to see any real results…

One day later, the yellow man cooled his hot face with fresh wind from a fan. He was utterly exhausted from his afterimage technique he used to tutor his students all at the same time. Students aren't the only people who enjoy recess.

"As expected, you really look exhausted."

"Why are you putting in so much effort teaching us anyway?"

"Nurufufufufu!" the octopus man laughed at his students' questions. "This is all in order to raise your test scores. And then…" he trailed off, imagining his students looking at him with reverencek praising him. "…It'll be like that. The danger of being killed would disappear as well. So it would be two birds with one stone."

His students merely looked at each other, not believing in their teacher's vision.

"Nah, we're better off doing that than studying."

"Yeah. If we kill him, there's the reward of 10 Billion, too."

"With that much money, even if our grades are bad, we'd still live rosy lives after this."

"Nuaa!" the teacher loudly gasped, disagreeing with his pupils' attitudes. "S-so that's what you're thinking of doing, isn't it?!"

"We're the E-as-in-end Class, you know."

"We kinda… have a better chance assassinating you than doing well on a test."

Not wanting to listen to their excuses any longer, Korosensei expressed his disapproval with an 'X' on his face. "So that's it. I understand very well…"

"Understand what?"

"As you are now, you are not qualified to be assassins." the yellow man stated, then heading to the door. "All of you, come out to the schoolyard. Please call Karasuma-sensei and Irina-sensei as well."

Their Sensei gone, most of the class sweatdropped. "What's up with Korosensei all of a sudden?"

"Who knows… his mood abruptly shifted for the worse."

Everyone in the schoolyard, the octopus man started speaking up. "Irina-sensei, I have a question for you as a professional assassin."

"What's this all of a sudden?" she questioned.

"Whenever you are on the job… Do you have only 1 plan prepared?" he asked his question, pointing at her.

"No. Just as you'd expect, rather than one preferred plan, it's better to have a few possible routes." Irina professionally explained. "For assassins, it's part of the basics to construct thorough backup plans in advance, in case unforseen circumstances should arise."

"Very well. Now then, next is Karasuma-sensei." Korosensei continued. "When you teach knifework to the students, is the first blow the only crucial one?"

"Of course the first blow is the most crucial, but the movements afterward are just as important." Karasuma answered. "Against a formidable opponent, there is a high probability of your first blow being dodged. The precision of your second and third blow can mean the difference between defeat and victory."

"What are you getting at?" Some students were getting impatient.

"Just as the teachers have said, if your next move is assured, you can become an assassin full of self-confidence. And what about you?" the yellow man told, beginning to spin around.

""Thinking we'll be fine since we have the assassination."" the octopus man spun faster and faster. "You've lowered your studying goals. You are only averting your eyes from the cause of your inferiority complex."

He became a whirlwind. "What if I were to flee from this classroom? What if another assassin killed me before you could? Having lost the assassination you think of as a contingency plan, you'd only be left with your sense of inferiority as Class E."

Those students who felt inferior for being in their class, and they were the absolute majority, thought about how much they hated this feeling.

"Here's some advice from Sensei to those of you who are so insecure." The teacher became a full on tornado, visible even from the main school building. "Those who do not possess a second weapon are not qualified to call themselves assassins!"

After finishing his speech, the tornado's intensity lessened again, the wind eventually fading away. "There were many weeds and much uneven ground on the school campus. I have cleaned it up a bit."

With the dust and wind fully fading away, it turned out Korosensei made an even sports track on the mountain. The entire class had been greatly impressed, even Haruno. "Sensei is a super creature capable of erasing the entire earth from existence. Levelling this area is very simple for me."

This was another moment of Korosensei reminding his class how much of a monster he was. The majority of students poured fresh sweat, kept their bodies stiff and eyes attentive.

"Unless you have the confidence in yourselves and can show that you have a secondary weapon, I will consider there to be no assassins in this classroom save Haruno who deserve to be my opponent, and will level all of you along with the school building before leaving." the yellow man lectured.

"A second weapon… How long do we have?" Nagisa asked, unsure.

"That has already been decided. Until tomorrow." the octopus man informed, his face no longer intimidating. "All of you, please score within the Top 50 on tomorrow's midterm test."

All the rather insecure students became shocked and terrified, gawking and bulging out their eyes. For most of them that was a seemingly impossible task.

"I have already cultivated your second weapon. Sensei does not use a slow, dull teaching method inferior to those of the main building's teachers." Korosensei went on, trying to make his students believe that his teachings wouldn't be in vain. "Wield that weapon with confidence. Successfully complete this mission. Smile without embarrassment and hold your heads high."

"As assassins and as members of Class 3-E."

One day later, midterm exams were held. As expected, the majority of Class 3-E failed to get into the Top 50. Chairman Asano intentionally arranged the questions of the exams to be more difficult than usual. He'd stick to his system no matter what.

Thus most were in low spirits, students and especially the teacher himself. "This is my fault… It seems I took this school's system too lightly. I can't bring myself to face all of you…" He literally faced them with the back of his bald round head.

A thrown knife almost struck that back of his head, forcing him to face his class. "Nuaaah!"

"You sure~? If you couldn't face us, then you wouldn't be able to see me coming to kill you." Karma said, walking towards him with a bunch of papers in his hand.

"Karma-kun! Sensei is feeling a bit depressed right now!" Korosensei comically complained, lashing out at the sheets of paper before picking them up and looking at them.

Akabane Karma

Total score: 494 points

Ranked 4th out of 187

"Even if the questions change, it makes no difference to me…" the redhead told "or Haruno either."

Shiobana Haruno had scored even higher.

Shiobana Haruno

Total score: 499 points

Ranked 2nd out of 187

Though the blond boy too was a little depressed because the promise he made with Nagisa about scoring high enough in the midterm exams for Mr. Asano to not look down on Class 3-E was only kept for Karma and himself.

"Woah… that's amazing!" other students remarked in awe.

"Judging by my results, you have taught me more than needed." the delinquent spoke. "But I have no intention of leaving this class. An assassination is much more entertaining than returning to my previous class."

For the other delinquent that too was true, he didn't want to return to Class A. Not that he could anyway, that example of violent conduct that got him demoted was unpardonable.

"So what are you gonna do? Everyone but Haruno and me didn't make it into the Top 50 spots, so are you gonna run away with your tail between your legs like you say you would?" Karma provoked, sticking out his tongue. "When it comes down to it, aren't you just afraid of being killed?"

That movement of the redhead gained traction as many students started to tease the yellow man, encouraged by the delinquent.

"What, so you were scared, Korosensei~?"

"Then you should've been honest and told us that."

"You know, like saying "I want to run away because I'm scared!""

"Nuaaaa!" The provocations worked, the octopus man had a tick mark on his round forehead. "There is no way I will run away! I'll pay you all back double at the end-of-term exams as revenge!"

"Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!" The class broke out in laughter.

"What's so funny?! Aren't you supposed to be frustrated?!" Korosensei comically snapped at his pupils.

They were supposed to be frustrated, they mostly failed reaching their goal. But even so, they were proud to be members of Class 3-E and would hold their heads up high, hoping they'd do better next time. After all, their teacher was amazing and one student in particular put a lot of hope in them.

So there it is, the end of this chapter. It is quite short this time, but it's short for a reason. This is the perfect time in the story to end this chapter, because Jotaro will make his appearance next chapter. And then there's the class trip to Kyoto. Just know that I'll make sure to compensate this short chapter with a longer chapter next time.
