Yellow Experience
Welcome to the newest chapter of this crossover. With Ghiaccio out of the way, other Stand users won't appear for a while. But even without them there's enough content to write with.
Answer to Misstykata: Thank you for the review, it was well articulated and constructive! I do see your opinion on killing Ghiaccio and how Giorno and Nagisa should've reacted. I just thought it'd be okay with Giorno not being shocked about killing Ghiaccio since he felt nothing when (indirectly) killing Luca, and he wasn't a gangster yet. He also killed Polpo literally a few minutes after becoming a gangster and felt nothing. That's why I wrote it this way. Still, thanks a lot for the review.
Answer to The Keeper of Worlds: While I get and like the 'silent' part, I don't get the 'steeples' part. Can you maybe explain what clowns have to do with churches? I'm not religious and barely know anything about religion, so I don't understand any irony about it. But I looked up Silent Steeples anyway. Thank you for the suggestion.

Chapter 8: Dorm visit
Back at the Kyoto hotel Class 3-E was staying at, things had calmed down since the frosty fight. Karma and Sugino didn't tell any other boys about the incident, the girls kept quiet too. Instead of reporting it to everyone and causing uproar, they first had to be sure Haruno and Nagisa returned safe and sound.
When Haruno and Nagisa got back, they first went to see Karma, their one friend they could freely talk about the incident.
"Haruno-kun! Nagisa-kun!" The redhead emraced his friends almost brotherly, at that moment they were alone. "You've made it back!"
"Y-yeah, we did." The blond said, still troubled about what he did to the assassin.
"Nagisa-kun" Karma began, focusing solely on the bluenette. "when Haruno-kun told us to run away, I wondered where you were after I noticed you hadn't come with us. Like, I know you're a Stand user like Haruno-kun, you told me so. But didn't you also tell me you didn't know about your ability?"
"Erm, I actually found out what I can do in the fight." the petite boy informed. He was proud about his ability to use superpowers to protect others. Like Haruno.
"Oh, okay." the redhead spoke. "I was just worried about you since that guy easily froze Korosensei, meaning he's a dangerous real assassin with superhuman powers. Plus, he talked and acted like a psycho. I was worried that a Stand user like you who didn't know his own ability wouldn't fare well against a strong enemy like him."
He, Ghiaccio, was a dangerous real assassin with superhuman powers. While both Shios could freely talk to their friend about Stands and Stand fights, neither felt like talking about what happened to Ghiaccio.
"Well, perhabs you were right to worry. I wouldn't be here without Haruno-kun." Nagisa admitted, understanding his friend's concern. "Sorry for making you worry."
"I wouldn't be here without Nagisa either." Haruno defended. "I don't like it, but Stand users must face danger to grow."
"Haruno-kun's right." the bluenette said, smiling. "Thanks to this fight, I have unlocked my powers. Now I can use them to protect the ones dear to me."
"That's good to hear." Karma gave them a thumbs up before changing the topic. Speaking about that was something he needed to. "This won't change anything about our friendship, right?"
Both his friends didn't understand why he'd ask something like that. "Why should this change anything at all?"
"It's just that…" The redhead needed to pause in order to find the right words "you're different, you're strong. You two and me, we're unlike each other."
"So what?" the blond asked, raising his brow. That answer surprised the redhead.
"Stands are nothing. It's the user who controls them, thus the user matters more. I can't speak for Nagisa, but as a human, who merely has control over a Stand, I prioritize you over the concept of being different."
"Exactly what Haruno-kun said. I feel the same." The petite boy agreed, smiling widely. "We are who we are, friends, and it stays like that."
Karma had some concerns. Concerns about being weak, having to get saved by the two. Having to run away, unable to fight side by side. He honestly disclosed his concerns. While he knew barely anything about the world of Stands, and experienced next to nothing about that world, he knew that his friends were in a different world.
"Karma…" Nagisa couldn't find appropriate words to say. He couldn't deny the redhead's points. Akabane Karma, the feared delinquent used to be strong in his eyes. With being a Stand user, that perception changed. His once powerful friend looked like a normal human in his eyes now. 'Strong' and 'powerful' was more befitting for the supernatural and superhuman.
"I have to admit, this feels philosophic. Philosophic and unequal. Why me and not you, why you and not me." Haruno spoke up, perfectly understanding those concerns. "Karma, thanks for telling us. I can't deny the differences, you're right. But I won't let the years we spent as friends back without this knowledge go to waste. As your friend, I'll try my best."
"…Thanks." The redhead thanked, moved but hiding his emotions. He truly hoped those words were true, it'd break his heart if the Stand issue put and end to their closeness.
XXXXXXXXXX
After the conversation with Karma ended, the bluenette and the blond talked another time in private. They recognized that there were certain issues about Stand users being friends with non-Stand users who knew about this power, especially in an environment where Stand battles were forseeable. The Shios swore each other to NEVER talk about Stands to any future non-Stand user friend again, following the conversation with their, sadly different, friend.
For that reason the delinquent stayed in his dorm, purposely avoiding the girls who'd want to say something to him. The girls came to him anyway.
During sleeping time, Fuwa Yuzuki and Kanzaki Yukiko sneaked inside Haruno's dorm. He was well awake, still thinking.
"What are you doing here?!" the blond whispered, stressing his disapproval of them coming to him without sounding too rude. "We'll get in trouble if the teachers catch us!"
"Be at ease, we made sure not to make a sound." Yuzuki quietly reassured.
"We came here to thank you especially, what you did meant even more to us than the other girls." Yukiko stated.
"Well, I guess." the delinquent tried to stall. "Who could've predicted that asshole picking you as a hostage, Fuwa-san."
The brunette still remembered Ghiaccio well, she'd never forget that man. Being close to his Stand, she felt traumatizingly cold. "I'm here to thank you for saving me, but please don't mention him ever again… And also, you can call me just Yuzuki now."
"And you, Kanzaki-san?" Haruno switched his gaze over to the black-haired. "Why, may I ask, do you have a greater need to thank me?"
"Uhm…" she hesitated, looking downwards and feeling guity. "T-the… The reason we were… kidnapped… was because of me… They were after… m-me…"
"Ah, got it." the blond said. "Pricks are gonna be pricks, no matter the city. Don't feel guilty about it."
"About that… I don't feel guilty about the reason they picked on me in the first place, me opening up and you coming to rescue us helped me get over it…" Yukiko told, leaving the stammering behind. "I feel guilty about getting the others involved, they didn't deserve this… and I can't accept that."
"I see." the delinquent gently spoke. "You're a very noble and kind girl. I like that this is what you can't condone."
Despite his compliment being non-romantic in nature, the black-haired blushed. "Appreciate it… Please, call me Yukiko from now on."
"Haruno-kun, this time and setting doesn't allow it, but we can meet again, if you know what I mean." the brunette said, winking. "We came here to thank you and we did. Actually, we can thank you over and over again and it wouldn't be enough."
"Actually, I don't need you to thank me, you're welcome. You're my classmates and good people, I'd help anytime."
"Good night." the girls bade farewell, turning around with a blush.
"Good night."
Right after those two girls quietly exited his room, another two girl quietly entered, Hazama Kirara and Nakamura Rio.
Haruno didn't expect another pair of girls to come in the slightest. "H-hello?"
"Good night Haruno-kun, how are you doing?" Rio politely and quietly greeted, smiling brightly.
"We wanted to see you again." Kirara informed, smiling in a gloomy yet kind manner.
"Oh, are you here to thank me like the others?" the blond asked.
"Thank you again for saving my friends, but that's not why we're here." the blonde revealed.
"You see, we're here to tell you something upfront." the goth girl spoke, smirking widely.
The delinquent scratched his ear, interested in what those two had to say. "Do tell."
"Haruno-kun, you've made a splendid impression on us today. The way you were so brave and strong, so helpful, it was…"
"…romantic." Kirara finished for Rio. "Even moreso than my horror books."
"Wait, those aren't romantic at all!" the blonde disagreed.
"For you." the goth girl defended her taste.
"Anyways Haruno-kun, we like you!" Both confessed, blushing. "Call us by our first names please!"
Shiobana Haruno was far from dense, he was anything but dense. Ever since the first day of entering Class 3-E he knew the girls had a crush on him. He was intelligent, strong, tall and handsome. But the blond wasn't interested in romance, having decided to put his dream ahead of the complicated topic that is romance. Usually, he could always tell girls he wasn't interested. His case was different, though. Exactly because he wasn't dense, the delinquent perfectly knew that Rio, Kirara, and all the girls he rescued inside that warehouse were into him because of his personality, not because of his appearance. Stalling was his only option there, he couldn't just reject them when he knew their love wasn't superficial.
He folded his hands, exhaling and closing his eyes before opening them again. In this time of night, he was almost as serious as when fighting a Stand-using enemy. "That's nice to hear, girls. I'm glad there are people who really like me." Haruno clarified, looking right into their eyes. "However, I feel like it's too early for me to be in a relationship. I'm 14 and you are too, have you thought about that?"
Rio and Kirara continued the eye-contact. They were conflicted. While the blond didn't outright reject them, he obviously stalled. One was better than the other, though neither really made them happy. And while yes, stalling was far easier to live with, it was harder to respond to.
"I… ahh…"
"Wha…"
'Did I mess up?' the delinquent thought, gulping silently. 'I hope not…'
They couldn't find the words to say. This whole discussion was super awkward. There seemed to be no point to go on from.
"Girls, is everything alright?" Haruno inquired, feeling a great deal of awkwardness.
"Maybe… it's not the right time to talk about this…? I mean, it's really late…" the blonde figured, sweatdropping.
"Perhabs not…" the goth girl deadpanned.
"Alright, see you tomorrow Haruno-kun… Good night…"
"Good night…"
Both girls quietly saw themselves out of the boy's dorm.
'Phew, that didn't end badly.' the blond thought, wiping sweat of nervousness off his forehead. Speaking with both pairs of females disrupted his previous thoughts. The delinquent feld tiredness rightfully take its place in his mind, falling asleep like a little baby.
You expected a longer chapter, didn't you? Well I wanted to write a longer chapter too. But oh well, it's easier to end it here and go on with the following story section in the next chapter. Thus, this is more of an inbetween chapter. I both like and hate to write these. While short, they are needed for character development and realistic writing.
Giorno and Nagisa don't hide stuff from Karma. He knows he's different from them and can't fight on par because they're Stand users. They all hope to maintain their friendship, but actions speak louder than words. Nagisa and Giorno have to prove that they won't leave him behind, that is Karma's greatest fear.
Like with the fight last chapter, I bullshitted my way out of Rio's and Kirara's confession. But it works though, stalling is tempting to use. It keeps up hope, is not that difficult to accept, and hard to respond to. I try to hold back with the romance stuff, because I don't want to write OOC Giorno scenes. There's no need to rush anyway, this fanfic is far from over.
