Yellow Experience
I feel like an ass for not updating in over half a year. But contrary to my expectations, university has gotten a lot more difficult than before, so there's that. In the Author's Notes in the beginning of last chapter, I mentioned that I treat my fanfics equally when it comes to writing and publishing turns, even if this one is by far my favorite. Good news here is, I completed one, so there's only two remaining including this one. I'm sure this'll speed up updates by quite a lot.
I do not own JoJo's Bizarre Adventure or Assassination Classroom
Chapter 20: The promised talk
The day after the Kunugigaoka athletic festival, it was another day of school. The students were walking up their mountain as usual, nothing strange.
Except that a total of 9 students, 8 girls and one boy, were texting on their mobile phones.
[It's time for that, isn't it? Haha, can't wait!] -Rio
[Yep, that's right] -Haruno
[I've been hearing about your plan, so excited] -Hinata
[Looking forward to it so much!] -Touka
[Everyone, shut up and let him write! Or else we won't be done by the time we're up there] -Kirara
[Right, we can't waste too much time. Haruno-kun, please fill us in] -Yukiko
[Gotcha. Okay, so here's the plan] -Haruno
Ever since the 'Test of Courage' back in Okinawa, Haruno had promised to prank Korosensei as revenge, as well as have a serious talk with him. Both of those events would happen on that very day, though the prank needed preparation in the form of cooperation with all the girls who walked with him that day.
Wanting all of them to be ready and fine with his idea, the delinquent carefully described what he plotted. And everything in silence, so that a certain yellow octopus couldn't overhear.
[That's the plan. You all fine with that?] -Haruno
[Sure!] -Hinano
[Piece of cake, you can count on us] -Yuzuki
[Everything will go as planned, we'll make sure] -Meg
[Got it, thank you all] -Haruno
[No probs, anything for you] -Touka
[Besides, it'll be so damn funny] -Rio
[For sure] -Yuzuki
With that, everyone involved knew what they had to do. Timing and everything else had been made clear.
For now, they all could turn off their phones and walk into their classroom as usual, and greet their teacher like nothing was off.

It had become afternoon. All the lessons had ended, the bell had rung, the pupils were free to go home. Korosensei too was about to leave.
Key word: about. Since this was exactly the moment the plan had to be implemented.
"Korosensei!" Meg called, raising her hand. "Could you wait a bit, please?"
As one of his students just called for him, he couldn't just ignore her and leave. So the yellow man turned around midway on his path towards the door, looking at the brunette. "What is it, Kataoka-san?"
"Because you are so fast, you can go home anytime and have plenty of time to spare, is that correct?"
"Yes, it is." the octopus man replied in a friendly way.
"Good." Meg said, smiling innocently. "Then may we ask you to give us some tutoring, please?"
"'we'?" the teacher repeated, then looking around and understanding. The brunette had been speaking on behalf of the 7 other girls still sitting at their desks.
"Yeah, all of us." Rio took over the speaking part, grinning a little. "You want us to have the best grades, right?"
"Of course I do." Korosensei spoke, nodding.
"Then someone as smart as you, can surely help us a bit with that." As she said that, her grin became wider.
"You want me to tutor all of you, right here and now?" he reiterated, this being mildly inconvenient to him as the yellow man still wanted to do something else after school.
"Yes, please. We'd be delighted." Hinata pleaded, pressing her hands together as she smiled. "Without you, how could we possibly get to the top?"
Seeing all these girls earnestly(?) appealing to him for help, he couldn't just say no. It bothered the octopus man that he had to postpone his later plans for the day, but he had no other choice than to give in to those smiling faces requesting his help.
"Ghhhh… Alright, fine. I'll help you." the teacher spoke, being patient.
Following the announcement, all girls smirked simultaneously, like a unit.
"What subject do you want me to tutor you in?" Korosensei asked, fiddling with his tentacle ends.
"I guess that is different for each of us." Yukiko stated, bearing a neutral expression.
"Well, if you say so." The yellow man shrugged. He might as well do it, since he saw it as a duty to help his pupils.
"Alright, here we go."

Outside the classroom, hiding behind the corner, Haruno had been listening. The girls were now keeping the octopus man busy, enabling the delinquent to enact the next stage of his plan.
For that, he had to go to the faculty room, where the teacher's belongings were.
Opening the door of that room, the blond just casually walked in.
"Hey, don't just come in without knocking." Karasuma chided, drinking his last coffee before going home.
"Don't worry, I'll be out in a few seconds." Haruno merely responded, largely ignoring Tadaomi.
Upon seeing Korosensei's belongings, the delinquent rummaged through them.
Witnessing this right in front of his eyes, the government agent put down his coffee mug and steeled his voice. "Hey! What are you doing?"
"Looking for Korosensei's wallet." the blond bluntly answered, still ignoring the agent.
Karasuma's eyes twitched, and a tick mark formed. "Boy, you trying to steal? Do you have no dignity?!"
Hearing Tadaomi's angry voice severely telling him off, Haruno thought it'd be smarter to not ignore him and clarify things to avoid a misunderstanding.
"Ah, no. Not a single Yen is going to go into my pockets, it's just a prank."
"A prank?" The government agent wasn't approving, but he wasn't motivated enough to listen to the delinquent's explanations. "You better watch it and not become an actual juvenile delinquent. Shit like this will get you a criminal record."
The government agent's harsh warning made the delinquent hesitate. Thinking about what he was doing more clearly, the blond could perfectly see how this looked from an outside perspective.
"I understand, I won't do it twice."
Apologizing to the agent for having him see this, Haruno respectfully bowed to a degree, then left.
As the delinquent walked away and closed the door behind him, Karasuma still slightly gritted his teeth. 'Punk…'
On the other side of the door, the blond made his way outside the building, taking out his phone. Because once outside, he had to give the girls the signal that their job was done.
Typing a very short message, where it wasn't even the message that was counting but the messenger sound, he put the phone back in his pocket.
Now Haruno could get to the next phase of his plan.
"OOOOI! Korosenseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeei! Come Ooooooooooooooooout!" he suddenly yelled after grinning mischievously. "Come Out if you don't wanna get broke!"
Because this voice was disturbing his tutoring lessons, the yellow man came out in the open. He stopped right in front of the delinquent, who was standing right next to the edge of the cliff.
"Haruno-kun, would you please keep your voice down? I'm in the middle of extra tutoring lessons."
After hearing those words, the blond firmly chuckled. "Those lessons are over."
Not understanding what Haruno meant, the octopus man looked at him with utter confusion. "What are you talking about, Haruno-kun?"
"Those tutoring lessons, I'm saying, were only a distraction to keep you here." the delinquent let him know, using casual body language. "To keep you here until this very moment."
"A distraction?" the teacher repeated, realizing he'd been fooled. "Why'd you do that?"
"Remember my promise to prank you back for the Test of Courage?" the blond decided to give Korosensei's memories a jog, his grin becoming narrower. "I'm about to ruin your day."
The yellow man's wallet he'd hidden behind his back, he then took it out to show it to the owner, before emptying it on the ground.
But he wasn't done yet. Thanks to [Ougon no tomodachi] tampering around with the money, each bill and coin transformed into an animal. And those animals were great in diversity. From big, like boars, to small, like ants. From high, like falcons, to low, like moles. Mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, beetles… Pretty much every class of animals except fish.
"M- My money!" Korosensei panicked, as every single one of these animals suddenly started fleeing from their location of birth.
"Uh-uh!" the delinquent stopped his teacher from leaving, stretching out his right arm and showing him his flat palm. "Before you go retrieving your precious money, we're going to have our talk, just like I promised on the same day."
Fully getting how serious the blond was about his one demand, the yellow man was getting equivalently nervous.
"But… My money! How am I going to-"
"About that, I have given those creatures the order to stay within the city limits." Haruno informed, not budging. "You can pick up your money back later."
"You… didn't have to go that far." the octopus man let out a grumble, though still glad that the delinquent's revenge prank didn't end up worse. His spiking heart rate went back down.
"What a coincidence, that's exactly what I was going to say to you about your perverted games in that cave." the blond countered, crossing his arms. "And I'm not alone in this."
Behind the teacher, the girls cooperating with Haruno's prank all gathered together, forming half a circle. They too demanded a voice in this talk.
Looking at his surroundings, Korosensei grasped the seriousness, and that he couldn't avoid a talk.
"Really fancy of you, these perverted, suggestive games and themes you've picked for us, interfering into our personal relationships." The delinquent emphasized the key word.
"Also picking up and moving us like pawns on a board, just as you please." Hinano said, trying to put on a strict face, though with not so great results.
The two of them had good points, which put the yellow man in a moral pinch. He was already making a comically scared face.
"That did more bad than good, Korosensei." Yukiko voiced her opinion.
"Did it really? It ticked us off enough to decide pulling this prank on him, which worked pretty well." Rio joked, content with the trouble given to the octopus man by their prank.
"I admit, that's a very sound point." Touka swiftly agreed, also smirking in a content way.
"Make that two." Kirara joined in, finding pleasure in the teacher's non-violent suffering.
"So cruel~~" Korosensei complained, though still minding his own position.
"Playing around with personal relationships for your own amusement, isn't that more cruel than having to go collect your money back in Mach 20?" Meg brought up, trying to not so much rub off her own amusement of the prank's result.
"Hnnn…" The yellow man had nothing good to say, lots of sweat building up on his round face.
"You reap what you sow." Yuzuki remarked in a smug manner.
"Did this give you the idea not to do such a thing again?" Hinata then asked, giving the octopus man a rather reserved, but still stern look.
Figuratively and financially taken apart by his own students, the teacher got absolutely humiliated. And in such a way, he couldn't just pettily counter them only because he was a superhuman monster.
"Yes…" Korosensei answered, letting his head hanging. "I won't do it again, I promise…"
Liking how that sounded, the girls smirked all at the same time. But Haruno, he wasn't done yet. The seriousness stayed on his face.
"By the way, Korosensei…"
"…What?"
"From here on, it's actually the real talk I mentioned earlier." the delinquent revealed, greatly shocking the yellow man.
"Excuse me?!"
"That little chat just now, was only to make you think about why we pranked you. It's not the actual talk."
Already humiliated and pressured, the octopus man was afraid of what was coming next. He started emitting more sweat than before, and changed into his 'frightened' color.
"Well then, I'm gonna start." the blond announced, giving his teacher no room.
The girls were all very, very curious about it too, Haruno's talk.
"First of all, isn't it strange how you suddenly come into our lives, get to know us, involve yourself in our personal relationships, but won't tell us about yourself? You know us so well you're pushing certain matters, but we can't do it vice-versa."
"…I see, this is what you want to talk about." Korosensei said, having expected the day where the delinquent would ask him about himself, and address the fact that he avoided talking about himself. But not on this occasion. "But why would you change the topic? Weren't we going to talk about… my transgressions?"
"Yes, the talk we're going to have this instant is different than the talk I spoke of when I first swore to you in the cave that we'd have a serious talk." the blond explained, trying to make himself understandable. "The content has changed quite a bit, with the emphasis shifting from you having no right toying with my friends and their relationship to me, to our knowledge of each other being so one-sided"
Just by the fact that he called them his friends, a certain feeling arose within the girls.
As nervous as the yellow man was, his own curiosity awakened, imploring him to ask about that.
"How did it come to that?"
"Not a few hours after my 'adventure' in that cave, I had an encounter with someone else." Haruno told, not going to name that someone.
Wanting to inquire about that someone, the octopus man engaged with the conversation. He had a reason to, as depending on the person the delinquent was talking about, someone could be in danger.
"Who is the person you just mentioned?"
"That someone is an interesting fellow, with an even more interesting connection and relationship to you and your past." the blond calmly shrugged, refusing to reveal the identity.
"Again, who is that? If it's about me, I have to know, it's important." the teacher questioned again, in a more urgent tone.
"This individual is both natural and fake, both exactly the person you know, and a person you wouldn't expect." Haruno spoke in riddles, not willing to fulfill Korosensei's request in order to show who was leading the discussion.
"…?"
Both the yellow man and his female students listening to the talk were confused, some tilting their heads. The delinquent was really good at talking in riddles.
"Come on, put an end to this already, Haruno-kun." the octopus man decided to finally talk back, his voice becoming more assertive. "If you want me to apologize to you for playing cupid in that cave, I can do it, no problem at all. But this is a really important matter for me, so please speak clearly!"
"What's more, that person has some partially lacking key information about you, which will cause severe misunderstandings if you don't clear this up with the person in question." the blond continued defying his teacher, also sharpening his voice. Especially for the second sentence. "Furthermore, more so than myself, it's the girls here who deserve a sincere apology, Korosensei."
Hearing this, the girls became more empowered to open their mouths and say what was bothering them. Their confidence took a boost from behind.
"…That's right, we won't skip on that apology." Rio let know with a firm voice, steeling her gaze.
"M-hm" her fellow girls followed up, nodding in unison. With such decisiveness, they too became players in this field.
And with this move, Haruno maintained and strengthened his dominant position within the talk.
"…"
Korosensei, having been given the duty to apologize for his treatment of his female pupils back then, took back a step under the renewed pressure from all sides. He carefully eyed everyone he was owing.
"I… sure will… That's a promise."
He had attempted to turn the tides, though his position ended up worse off than before.
"Furthermore, I'm not sure when the time will come, but it has to be resolved before the end of this school year." the delinquent then decided to tell, but not out of generosity. "At least that's what the one I'm talking about wants."
"…Then what should I ideally do?"
The yellow man lowered his head and voice. He was in dire need of advice, and fast.
As a complex being with a deep personal history, he always knew that the longer he hid his secrets, the harder the forces trying to end him would strike. As a teacher with far more influence on his own students than other teachers, he initially planned to share his secrets eventually. But the octopus man didn't expect the situation to be that intense so early on.
A silent wind blew past, and the atmosphere became colder. Emotionally speaking, that is.
"…"
Just by being there like this, the girls' expressions naturally became more reserved and neutral. They could read the mood, and it wasn't like the mood of a few seconds before.
"Make the first step, Korosensei. It would be better for everyone involved this way." the blond advised, a neutral but deep expression on his face.
"You think this is easy?"
"No, absolutely not. But so is life. We and our actions, have consequences because of their influence on others. We have to be careful about them, or else it may lead to more or less complex problems, disputes and the like." Haruno spoke in a calm and eloquent manner, with his gaze in such a way that he was able to look everyone in the eyes. "Actions, relationships, influences, they're all part of life, and not coincidentally, part of our talk. I told you it'd be a serious talk, didn't I?"
Albeit the mood was cold, and the topic serious, the delinquent's speech was weirdly relaxing. Comforting even, as although parts of what he said were objective facts, they were spiritually relatable.
More or less, the blond had said just about everything he wanted. There wasn't much remaining.
"Korosensei, there are only 3 more things I want to tell you."
Thinking about how he should act, the teacher curiously listened to Haruno's words. With a quick gesture, he signaled the delinquent to let him hear.
"I sympathize with the person I referred to, so make it that I can sympathize with you too." The blond said, the cool wind softly blowing through his hair. "I know you have your reasons, but this ties to the second thing I want to tell you."
"Which is?" Korosensei wanted to know, the talk really making him think about himself.
"You're so close, but also so far away."
"…"
Again, this hit home, real close. Everyone present could relate to this statement. It wasn't even an opinion, it was pretty much a fact.
The yellow man was feeling shy and guilty. Haruno really called him out there, and the yellow man was fully conscious about that.
"I… get that…"
Finally, there was only one more thing left to say.
"And I really hope this talk was useful to you and made you realize things." the delinquent finished in a low undertone, then turning around. "That's all."
Starting to walk away, the blond was the one who ended the talk, just like he had begun the talk. After the talk, reflection had to be done. But that was on Korosensei's part, he had nothing more to do with that.
"…"
All the girls were left speechless. What they witnessed was a… heavy, in a sense, talk. Heavy to digest. That one sentence of Haruno, it'd been deep down in their mind as well, but none of them ever thought of bringing that up and voicing it out. It felt like they listened to a taboo conversation, at least for now. Maybe the teacher would've talked about more detailed parts of himself later on, but only halfway into the school year… it felt weird.
"Does… anyone have something to say?" Hinano asked, carefully touching the topic.
"Not really… Leave it be for now." Yukiko advised to stay clear for a bit.
"Yeah, that'd be better." Touka shyly agreed, wanting to let the situation calm down a little.
"I'll… be going, then." Yuzuki let know, raising her hand up to neck level.
"Me too." Kirara followed, having had enough… drama.
"Wait for me, I'll be leaving as well." Rio joined them, feeling awkward about the entire situation.
Soon enough, the girls scattered, and the yellow man was left alone. The money turned into animals was the last thing on his mind, silently standing on the school hill with his gaze lowered.
"…Damn it, Haruno-kun… Now I've lost sense of what the right time is."
Slowly shaking his head, the octopus man would later proceed to retreat to a secluded place to concentrate and think in silence.
For the course of his plans having undertaken irreversible changes.
This really isn't much, but you'll get more soon. With this chapter I wanted to prepare for future events, and I believed the content of this chapter should stand somewhat alone, so the chapter is a bit shorter.
Anyways, next chapter a new storyline will commence, which I'm sure will surprise and interest you, as it's going to be from a whole other perspective.
Feel free to rate or review if you like to.
