Chapter 207: Revenge of Oogie Boogie Part 1: Welcome to Halloween Town
A couple of weeks had gone by in Equestria and everyone was getting the entire town ready for Nightmare night, including Spyro as he brought home a huge pumpkin and was carving it up, making it as scary as possible while the Apples were getting everything they needed ready for the holiday, finishing up some of the spooky pastry's they were making, getting the home decorated, and even getting their costumes ready for the holiday. As Spyro was removing the last of the seeds and guts of the pumpkin, he used his tail to carve a face in the pumpkin, wiping the sweat off his brow as the fillies were running around, having some fun as they got the decorations finished up, seeign the pumpkin and stopping.
"Wow, that is one huge pumpkin." Scootaloo said.
"You said it Scootaloo." Apple Bloom said. "Where the heck did ya get it from?"
"Trust me, getting this thing was harder than you think." Spyro said. "I'm just wondering what kind of costumes Applejack has for the two foals."
"How about ya have a look for yerself." Applejack said.
They looked back and saw that Applejack was walking over with Rosy Hearts and Midnight Sky, both fo which were already wearing their costumes, Rosy was wearing a flower costume costume, giggling as Applejack bounced them in her carrier and Midnight was wearing a lion costume, both laughing while Apyro just smiled, walking over and picking them up and held them, smiling as he held them.
"Oh, they're just too cute." Spyro said. "Did you get these from the store?"
"Ah did." Applejack said. "And Ah got some more costumes fer everypony tonight. Unfortunately Fluttershy won't be joinin' us this year. She's still too afraid to celebrate with us."
"That's a shame." Spyro said. "Did you at least deliver the bracelet to her?"
"Ah did." Applejack replied, taking the fillies back and revealing she had a gold bracelet with an apple on it. "What's so special about these things anyway? Ya said they'd help us know if we're needed for a mission, right?"
"Indeed." Spyro replied. "See when either Master Yen Sid or I have a mission that needs to be taken care of, I'll send out an alert through my bracers and they'll alert everyone to come to the garage. But hopefully that won't happen as things have been pretty quiet for the past couple of weeks."
"Isn't that when ya need to be worried?" Applejack asked. "Usually when somethin' is too quiet, that's when it's the most dangerous or somethin' like that?"
"You make an excellent point there." Spyro said. "That's why I contacted Sora and Riku, letting them know to be on the look out for any kind of threat. That now includes Salem and her Grimm."
"Seems we have more enemies than ever." Applejack said. "Ya ask me, maybe it's time we settled down and let yer friends handle everythin'."
"I wish." Spyro said, calling his blade. "But while we have a Keyblade, settling down might not be possible until the darkness is defeated or at least contained." He could see the disappointment in Applejacks eyes, but he just smiled, walking over and hugging Applejack as she hugged him as well. "But that doesn't mean we can't start a life together with the others in the herd. I promise, I'll do everything I can to protect everyone."
Applejack smiled, continuing to hug Spyro, enjoying the moment together before getting back to work for Nightmare Night. Meanwhile in Halloween town, Maleficent and Salem were walking along the streets of the town, approaching the courthouse where some Skeletons were patrolling the streets and one tried to attack Salem, but she just mved her hand and one of her Wolf Grimm smashed it, making sure nothing impeded their walk.
"You sure this Oogie Boogie will help us?" Salem asked, looking around at the town. "You ask me, this trip is a waste of time."
"True, he's a buffoon, but he might be what we need." Maleficent replied. "See, the world the Pince now lives in has a holiday known as Nightmare night, which is a version of Halloween. And Oogie Boogie took over this town after it's leader, Jack Skeleton, left to find a way to make Halloween more exciting. However, Lock, Shock, and Barrel repaired him after Sora defeated him for a second time and because of that, I feel like he'll want some payback. And I believe he'll want to test his new power."
"And how will he test that power?" Salem asked. "If you want to draw the prince here, how will you accomplish this? The prince has more power than you and he combined."
"I know." Maleficent replied. "You see, Oogie Boogie doesn't have much in the form of magic, in fact he doesn't have any at all. But when he came back this time and Jack left, he acquired some kind of magic even I'm not familiar with. Now he controls this world's power and all the inhabitants."
"So this means he'll be a worthy ally in defeating the Prince." Salem said.
"Exactly." Maleficent said. "This is his third and final chance. If he fails this time, then he'll be nothing more than dust in the wind. And he knows this."
"Well then, shall we go and meet our new friend?" Salem asked, smiling as they walked into the courthouse to speak with Oogie Boogie.
Meanwhile in Equestria, the night came and Nightmare night was in full swing, the fillies were out with their parents and/or older sibling, going and getting some treats from the homes of other ponies. As for Spyro, he was looking through his assortment of clothing to find a good costume, finally deciding to go with an old Jedi Temple Guard uniform, which Spyro took to Rarity to have them restored while he fished the mask and got it ready, putting the rbes on and the mask, seeing it was a perfect fit, which he knew it would be thanks to Rarity. He walked out of his garage to see that he was escorting Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle again this year, which Apple Bloom was wearing a werewolf costume, Scootaloo was a giant spider this year, and Sweetie Belle was a fairy princess, eagerly waiting for him as Applejack came out as well, wearing a costume that made her look like a phoenix and with Scorch on her back and the fillies in their carriers, all ready for their first Nightmare night.
"Well, looks like ya'll are ready for tonight." Applejack said.
"Sure am." Spyro said, the mask distorting his voice a bit, but he removed it and smiled. "And you decided to be a phoenix this year?"
"Sure did." Applejack replied. "There wasn't much left in the store, so Ah got what Ah could."
"Hey, it looks great on you." Spyro said, looking to the crusaders. "And so do the rest of you."
"Thanks!" Scootaloo said. "Now come on, let's get going before all the good stuff is gone!"
"Alright, alright already." Spyro said, putting the mask on. "Let's get going then."
They then started to make their to town to start getting some sweets for the Crusaders, but as they were walking, dark mist was going into the pumpkin that Spyro took the time to carve, the eyes glowing as they walked, but Spyro then stopped, the Force telling him that something was wrong, but Applejack stopped, looking to Spyro as she noticed that he was standing there, though the mask was hiding his face, she knew him well enough to know that it was something bad.
"What's wrong hun?" Applejack asked.
"I sense a great disturbance in the Force." Spyro said.
He then heard something erupt from the ground and he leapt to Applejack and jumped up, watching as a green thorny tentacle rose up and tried to hit him, but he activated his purple lightsaber and cut the tentacle, avoiding the hit as he looked to where it came from. Both he and Applejack saw that it was the pumpkin he had carved and saw it was alive, but the fire inside had turned purple and tentacles were going everywhere, roaring out as it's tentacle restored itself.
"What in tarnation is happenin'!?" Applejack asked. "Why did that thing come to life!?"
"I don't know." Spyro replied. "But it's not good." he then looked ot the two foals and saw they were crying, knowing that something was wrong and neeed to keep them safe. "AJ, find cover and keep the Crusaders safe! Leave this thing to me."
He then landed and set Applerjack down, the pregnant mare running to find cover with the crusaders as Spyro ignited the other saber, igniting both sides as he rushed through the vines. They tried to attack and harm him, but he spun his blades around, cutting through the vines and tentacles as they tried to capture him or destroy him, but with each attack, he just cut through and dodged without any problem, which the pumpkin was getting nervous and roared out, releasing a wave of energy as dark flames shot out to do some damage, but Spyro just used the force and created a barrier, blocking the flames as he leapt into the air, spreading his wings as he threw the blades, the gold and purple blades spinning as they sliced through the pumpkin, which it screeched and exploded, chunks of pumpkin flying everywhere, into the trees, on the ground, the buildings, everywhere. He then landed on the ground, some of the chunks getting onto his own robes as he starred at the spot the pumpkin one was.
"Is it gone?" Sweetie Belle asked, everyong coming out from behind the trees and rocks.
"It is." Spyro replied, wiping off some of the pumpkin off of himself. "And it went and ruined my robes. Seriously, Rarity worked so hard on fixing them."
"Why the heck did the pumpkin come to life?" Scootaloo asked. "Was that one of your spells?"
"I wish it was." Spyro replied. "Bringing a Pumpkin to life is one thing, but that gord was brought to life using dark magic. But from where?"
"Spyro!" Rainbow Dash shouted. Everyone looked up and saw that she was flying to them at break neck speed, looking exhausted as she stopped in front of them. "Dude, you're not going t belive this, but the decorations are coming to life!"
"Wait, seriously!?" Spyro asked, removing the mask. "The decorations are coming to life!?"
"Yeah, some of the streamers are turning to snakes, the prizes are attacking everypony, it's complete chaos!" Rainbow Dash replied. "What's going on!?"
"I don't know, but I think I have an idea of what's going on." Spyro replied, looking to his bracers. "Looks like it's time to try out the bracelets."
He then pressed a blue button on his bracer and almost immediately Applejack's bracelet lit up, indicating she was needed at the garage, which in town, Twilight and Octavia were finishing off some of the decorations that came to life as they bracelets lit up, letting them know they needed to get to the garage, the same with Pinkie, Rarity, Yang, Ruby, and the rest of their friends, running to the garage. Meanwhile in Fluttershy's cottage, the shy pony was hiding underneath her bed with some of her animal friends, shaking in fear as she waited for the most terrifying day to end.
"Ok, ok, calm down Fluttershy." Fluttershy said to herself. "It won't last forever. Just a few more hours until midnight and then it will no longer be Nightmare night." A moment later, her bracelet activated, the pink butterfly blinking as it let her know she was needed. "Spyro's calling. There must be a new mission." She then looked to her animal friends before looking outside, still shivering. "B-but it's so scary out there, but Spyro needs me." She then looked to her animal friends again, who were urging her to go, so she took a deep breath and walked to the door. "You're right. He needs me and I can't be afraid."
She then opened the door, taking a deep breath before walking out, but a second later, a decorative skeleton popped up and roared at her, which Fluttershy screamed as she called her Keyblade and struck it, running away while the animals all looked unsure of her being able to do anything, watching her run towards Sweet Apple Acres. At the farm and in the garage, everyone was gathered in the main hangar of the building, everyone gathered in the center of the building as Spyro walked to the terminal.
"Thank you all for coming." Spyro said. "It looks like we're one short though."
"You mean Fluttershy?" Rainbow Dash asked. "She's probably hiding underneath her bed."
"Again?" Applejack asked. "Ah keep tellin' her that she needs to overcome her fear and to give Nightmare Night a chance."
"Regardless, we need to get this briefing done." Spyro said as an image of the pumpkin appeared. "As we know, there is a lot of dark magic going around and bringing all of the Nightmare Night decorations to life. Even the Jack-o-lantern I made came to life and attacked us."
"And some of the streamers that were hung up attacked us as we came out of the library." Twilight said.
"And us at the bakery!" Pinkie said, standing with Jade, Yang, and Ruby. "These things are meanie mean baddie bad, bad guys!"
"Well, thanks to the new Twenty-one Giga Watt Transducers now helping to stabilize the flow of energy in this garage, I managed to track the source of the energy all the way to one world, Halloween Town." The pumpkin disappeared and an image of Halloween Town popped up, everyne looking at the image as the world orbited. "It's also got another name, which I gave it. It's known as 'The World of Holidays.' It basically means it is a way station for seven worlds in one."
"You serious!?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Seven in one?" Twilight asked. "How's that possible?"
"Halloween town is a world where is has seven special doors." Spyro replied. "Each of which represents a different holiday, which include: Independence day, Valentines day, St. Patricks day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and finally Halloween, which in Equestria, it is known as Nightmare Night."
"And Christmas is known as Hearth's Warming here in Equestria." Applejack said. "So what happens if this dark energy get's to these doors?"
"Let's just say it's something we don't want to find out." Spyro replied. "My friend Jack Skellington is on this world, so he might need some help. So i'm taking a small team of four with me. That will include Saife..." The hedgehog looked surprised, looking at Spyro before looking down, trying not to meet his eyes. "Ruby, Mandy, and-"
"WAIT!" Fluttershy shouted, everyone turning as she ran up and ran into Spyro, squeezing him as he heard something crack. "Take me with you on this mission, please!"
"Uh, Fluttershy, I don't think that's a good idea." Spyro said, knowing this might not be the mission for her. "You see, where we're going is-"
"I don't care!" Fluttershy exclaimed. "I told you Nightmare Night is the scariest night of the year and how I hate it! So I'm coming whether you want me to or not! PLEASE!?"
A moment later, the floor opened up as the Dragon's Crest came up, the scared Pegasi running to his ship and up the ramp, everyone looking to Spyro as he sighed, knowing she was going to hate where they were going.
"Well, guess we have our final team member." Spyro said.
"You sure you want to take her with you?" Twilight asked. "I'm more than willing to take her place and-"
"Twilight, we don't have time to drag Fluttershy out of the ship or explain where we're going." Spyro said. "The more time we wait, the more worlds that are currently celebrating Halloween are being affected by this darness. I'll just have to explain on the way there."
"But Ruby doesn't have a weapon." Yang pointed out. "How will she be able to fight?"
"I thought of that." Spyro said, looking to the Crest. "That's who during the past couple of weeks, I took the liberty of making some modifications to the ship. Now it has an armory that allows anyone inside to build whatever they want."
"Wait, really!?" Ruby asked, her eyes sparkling.
"Really." Spyro replied. "I have all the parts you need to make a new weapon. So while we're making our way to Halloween town, you can make yourself a new weapon."
"Oh yeah, I'm all over that!" Ruby exclaimed, running into the ship to get started.
Spyro just smiled, looking to the other two as they looked at him, nodding his head to let them know to get onto the ship so they could leave, looking over to Applejack and the others and smiled.
"Stay safe and make sure none of the decorations attack anypony else." Spyro said. "If this is the work of who I think it is, this won't take long."
"Just be safe hun." Applejack said, hugging him. "And come home soon. Ah'd hate for the fillies to miss their first Nightmare Night with their dad."
"Yes, please be safe darling." Rarity said, walking over and hugging him as well. "I'd hate for something bad to happen to you."
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." Spyro replied, hugging them back. "This errand shouldn't be long."
He then ended the hug and walked into his ship and went towards the cockpit, entering to find that Saife and Mandy were already there, even Fluttershy, but she was hiding underneath a chair, shaking as she hid, but she stopped when Spyro walked in, heading to the pilots seat and taking the wheel. A second later, the ship roared to life as it shot out of the garage and into the night sky, leaving everyone on the ground as they looked to town, knowing it was going to be a very long night. In the ship, Spyro had made the jump to Warp Speed, grateful to actually be able to get there much faster than with his Gozanti, which he didn't mind, but to him, it was much slower than his Dragon's Crest.
"Thanks for letting me come along for this mission." Fluttershy said, sitting back and looking relaxed.
"Yeah, thanks for letting us tag along!" Mandy said. "I was beginning to go crazy with having nothing to fight."
"Believe me, it'll be good for all of you to get out of Equestria." Spyro replied. "It's a peaceful and beautiful place, but I prefer to have some action every now and then. Speaking of action, I better go check on Ruby. We should be reaching Halloween town in about ten minutes or so."
"Wait, Halloween town?" Fluttershy asked, not liking the name. "What's halloween?"
"Uh, it... it's the human version of Nightmare Night." Spyro replied.
"WHAT!?" Fluttershy screamed, making everyone cover their ears as the freaked out pegasi was somehow latched the the ceiling like a frightened cat. "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME WE WERE GOING TO SOME PLACE SCARY!?"
"I tried the tell you." Spyro said. "But you wanted to come along and rushed into the ship before I could tell you no."
"Well take me back then!" Fluttershy exclaimed. "Or at least let me stay on the ship! I don't want to go!"
"Sorry Fluttershy, but we can't go back and now we need you." Spyro said, looking to Mandy and Saife. "Could you two get her down please? I'm going to-"
"What's all the shouting about?" Ruby asked, walking in.
"Fluttershy found out we're heading to Halloween town." Spyro replied. "Anyway, I thought you were busy working on a new scythe for yourself?"
"Oh, I already finished." Ruby replied, pulling it out. It was a brand new scythe, red in color with a shiny blade and what appeared to have sniper rifle parts, folding it up and putting it on her back. "I'm ready for anything."
"The sooner we get this thing done, the better." Saife said.
"I a-agree with Saife." Fluttershy said, coming down. "The sooner the better."
Spyro couldn't help but sense that Saife wasn't as thrilled to be on this mission, wondering what was on her mind when the alert went off, letting them know they were arriving as they came out of Warp Space and was slowly approaching the world, which was a creepy looking town sitting ontop of a pumpkin, everyone looking at the world as they approached.
"Alright everyone, we're approaching Halloween town." Spyro said. "And here, scary is normal. You'll look scary to blend in, but know we're still us. Stay close and keep your eyes open. Any questions?"
"Um, you sure it's too late for me to go back home?" Fluttershy asked.
"Afraid so little butterfly." Spyro said, walking over and kneeling down, putting his hand on her cheek to comfort her. "But if you want, you can stay close to me and I'll keep you safe. Just remember your training and you'll be alright."
Fluttershy looked at him, still not sure if she was able to do this, but she nodded, understanding she needed to do, summing up her courage as Spyro stood up and called his blade, raising it up as they were all enveloped in a sphere of white light, the ship stopping to allow for the orb to shoot out of the cockpit and head straight for Halloween town. Meanwhile in Fountain square, Maleficent and Salem were walking out of the town hall after talking with Oogie Boogie, walking to the gate to leave the town.
"I must say, this Oogie Boogie is an... interesting individual." Salem said. "But his power will be useful for our plans."
"That is if he upholds his end of the bargain." Maleficent said. A moment later, a light shined above them, looking up to see a ball of white light coming towards the square. "The prince. He got here faster than I anticipated."
"Guess we'll see if this Oogie Boogie has what it takes to fight the Prince." Salem said as a dark portal opened up. And if the little power I gave him will give him a boost."
Both of them walked through the portal right as Weiss got to the square, catching sight of Salem as she walked through the portal and knew this wasn't going to end well. However, a moment later, the orb of light Spyro conjured landed in the middle of the square, revealing everyone was completely different, except for Saife as she looked more or less the same, except she seemed to be dressed more like a sorceress. Spyro still had on the temple guard robes, except they looked more tattered and torn up with the mask looking cracked, Ruby looking like a grim reaper in all black with very little red, her skin paler than usual while the whites of her eyes were completely black while her eyes were still silver. Mandy however seemed to be unaltered except for her being only a slime while wearing her clothing, looking at herself and wondering what was going on while Fluttershy was in her Flutterbat form, her eyes were normal though, but she looked completely freaked out.
"Huh, everything appears normal." Spyro said. However, a moment later, he heard something metallic click, looking back as Weiss shlashed the air, sending a wave of fire at him, but he turned into air and dodged the attack, Weiss looking around to try and find him, but a second later, she was caught in a tornado, getting spun around before being flung into the fountain, getting all wet as Spyro rematerialized himself. "Spoke too soon."
"Who do you think you are freak!?" Weiss shouted, getting out of the water and raising her blade. "I have been trapped here for months, having to deal with skeletons, ghosts, and all sorts of creatures! And you won't be any-"
"Weiss?" Ruby asked, walking up and removing her hood to be seen.
"Wait, Ruby?" Weiss asked.
"Friend of yours?" Spyro asked, removing his mask.
"Yeah, this is... wow." Ruby said, seeing Spyro's eyes were now Sith eyes and dark veins were on his neck.
"What?" Spyro asked.
"Uh, your eyes." Ruby said.
"Oh, that." Spyro said, putting the mask back on. "They're called Sith eyes. It's what happens when a Force Sensative like myself uses the Dark Side or get's angry. But back to my question, who is this girl?"
"Oh, this is Weiss." Ruby replied. "She's a friend of mine. She's apart of Team RWBY and the heiress of the Schnee family. Her family mines the dust we use in our weapons."
"Interesting." Spyro said.
"Ruby, who are they?" Weiss asked.
"Spyro!" Jack shouted.
They all looked ot the entrance and saw Jack Skellington coming to them, which Schnee raised her sword to fight, but Spyro raised his hand to stop her.
"Easy, he's a friend." Spyro said, looking back to Jack. "Hey Jack, how's it going?"
"Oh, I'm alright." Jack replied, looking to the group. "And I see you got some new friends."
"I do." Spyrp replied, turning to them. "The pony is Fluttershy, but she's a little shy, so don't feel offended if she doesn't warm up to you immediately. Over there is Ruby and Weiss, and next to Fluttershy is Mandy and Saife."
"It's a pleasure to meet you all." Jack said. "I'm Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King. I'm the one everyone in this town looks to for guidance and help." A moment later, another skeleton came to them, which Weiss got her sword ready, which Spyro motioned for her to relax as jack looked to it. "Oh, why hello there. I don't believe we've met. I'm Jack." However, a moment later, the skeleton tried to attack him, but he jumped back and Jack swung something green at it, shattering the skeleton as more took it's place. "Something tells me they're not from Halloween town."
"You can say that again." Spyro said, calling his blade. "Weiss, are these the Skeletons you were fighting?"
"Yes they are." Weiss said, raising her blade. "And let me tell you, they're nasty." However, a moment later, several Shadow Heartless and and a few Geist Grimm appeared, surprising her. "Grimm!? But how!?"
"Questions later!" Spyro said, raising his blade. "We got a fight on our hands!"
Jack immediately used the slime thing while Spyro and Fluttershy went towards the Heartless while Mandy and Saife went with Ruby and Weiss to handle the Grimm, though with Spyro and Fluttershy working together, it was a one sided battle as Spyro was slicing through the Shadows as Fluttershy backed him up, cutting through the few that he missed while Jack handled the skeletons, though there were only a few, he was handling them with ease while the Huntress were cutting through the Grimm, though they were many, the two were handling them easily. Mandy used her elastic powers to avoid being harmed while bouncing some of the attacks back, making the Grimm fall down while Saife summoned her own powers, conjuring several daggers made from light before throwing them, striking the Grimm and shredding them instantly. Jack then used his little goo weapon and snagged a single Skeleton, slamming it to the ground while Spyro charged up the energy in his blade and slashed the air, destroying the remaining Heartless and the last Grimm.
"I'm guessing these things weren't with you." Ruby said.
"I wish." Jack replied. "I don't remember these skeletons and those creatures that attacked, i don't recognize them at all."
"They're Grimm." Weiss said. "And let me tell you, they're not exactly friendly."
"Jack, what's with all the hostile skeletons?" Spyro asked. "Why is everything-"
"Hello?" Oogie Boogie said. "Hello? Is this thing on?"
"You have got to be kidding me." Spyro said.
"My dearly Abhorred citizens of Halloween town!" Oogie Boogie said. "This is Oogie Boogie Speaking! Today I bring you a joyous announcement! First of all, in place of Jack Skellington, yours truly is now the new ruler of Halloween town! And secondly, as of today, this very hour, this very moment, I hereby change the name of this town from Halloween town to Oogie town! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Seriously?" Spyro asked, looking annoyed. "Oogie Boogie again? Didn't he learn his lesson the last two times he was beaten? Guy's literally a cockroach. And I mean a cockroach. Dude's a walking talking bag of bugs."
"Wait, bugs?" Fluttershy asked.
"Yeah, that's Oogie Boogie for you." Spyro said. "Dude's a gambler and he tried to get rid of Santa and Sally the first time and the second time he tried to take over Christmas town and tried to make the toy factory into a death machine."
"But why would he do that?" Fluttershy asked.
"Who knows what that infested bag of bugs thinks?" Spyro asked. "All I know is he's taking things too far this time. He nearly harmed my family and he;s going to pay."
"Wait, you have a family now?" Jack asked.
"Now's not the time to talk about what's going on in our lives." Spyro said. "We need to stop Oogie Boogie now."
"He's in the Town hall." A voice said.
They all looked to the direction of town hall and saw a man come out, wearing black and green with a top hat.
"Mr. Hyde." Jack said, everyone walking towards him. "What's going on? How did Oogie Boogie come back?"
"Lock, Shock, and Barrel sewed Oogie Boogie back together again." Mr. Hyde said, his hat coming up to reveal a smaller Hyde.
"Bugs, bags and all." The smaller hyde, only for his hat to pop up and reveal a tiny Hyde.
"Oogie's back!" The tiny Hyde said.
"Yeah, we got that much." Spyro said.
"And there's more." Mr. Hyde said. "Dr. Finkelstein proposed a plan for the next Halloween, saying that Jack wanted a more Dangerous halloween, so we organized one to make Jack happy."
"By making traps and making decorations come to life?" Spyro asked, trying his best not to loose his temper. "This decision has affected many places and nearly got people killed."
"I know." Mr. Hyde said. "But the doctor said if we didn't do it, jack may never come back."
"That doesn't sound like the Dr. Finkelstein I know." Spyro said. "He'd never agree to something like this."
"I agree." Jack said. "He would never agree to a dangerous halloween and would never say i would be ok with this. I love to scare people, but not harm them. We need to find the doctor."
"First, let's deal with Oogie Boogie." Spyro said, looking to the town hall. "He's not going to get away with this."
"Then let's go get this creep." Weiss said. "He's caused me enough grief while I was here."
The group then entered the town hall to go confront Oogie Boogie, seeing that all of the benches were against the walls and on the stage it looked like there were dice stacked on the stage and before they could ask or say anything, the shadows started to move and from the darkness, Oogie Boogie rose up as a shadowy version of himself with green eyes and a glowing green mouth.
"What the...? Spyro asked. "Oogie Boogie?"
"Well well well, Jack, the Pumpkin King!" Oogie Boogie said. "And his little gaggle of firends. Finally made it, huh?" A moment later, the darkness allowed for more Grimm to come out and some ghosts appeared, Oogie Boogie laughing. "Ohhh I've been waiting. So how do like my Oogie town?"
"Honestly, I hate it." Spyro said as music started to play. "Since when did you have magic? You don't know how to use magic."
"I picked up on a few things while you were all away." Oogie Boogie said. "Wanna see? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
He then threw some dice, making everyone dive for cover as they exploded, releasing dark energy and infuriating Spyro as they all started to fight Oogie and his minions.
[Jack Skellington]
It's over. It's over.
This time you've gone too far.
Jack focused on oogie Boogie, using his slime weapon to do some damage as Spyro took on some of the Grimm, cutting through them with ease while Fluttershy had his back, though the ghosts spooked her and made her fall down like a goat, but Aragami appeared and cut through them, dispersing them as everyone else fought what was closest to them.
It's over. I'm serious.

Just because you fooled the town,

Spyro took out another Grimm and turned, slicing the air to send a wave of fire at Oogie Boogie as Aragami appeared again, changing the scythe into a rifle and fired multiple shots into the flames, each hitting the shadow, but Oogie Boogie just laughed.

That's what you think. Ha!
But you couldn't be more wrong.
He then released a wave of dark magic, trying to hit Fluttershy, but Spyro appeared in front and surrounded them both in a dome of light, blocking the attack.
And this will be the last time you hear Oogie's song!

He then released several dice, all of which landed on six and the dots started to glow, Spyro's eyes widening when he saw them and scooped up Fluttershy and jumped up, all the dice exploding and throwing everyone away, but Jack was alright, spinning the goo thing around and blocking the attack while Mandy wasn;t affected much as they continued to fight.
"Oogie what have you done to everyone?" Jack asked.
"They're all under my control, that's what!" Oogie boogie replied. "And thanks to Maleficent and my new pal Salem, I'm more powerful than ever!"
A moment later, more Grimm appeared with more Ghosts, Fluttershy getting out of her shock as she got back up and got her blade, cutting through the ghosts as they all continued to fight.
"Spyro, together now!" Jack said, jumping to the stage. "If we combine our powers, we should be able to do enough damage to take him down.
Spyro nodded and leapt up, a white and pruple aura surrounding both jack and Spyro as they starred at the shadowy version of Oogie Boogie as they got ready to deal some serious damage, dancing to the beat as they auras mixed.

[Spyro]
But I can say you'll rule this town
only in your dreams! Ha!
As they danced and sung, skeletal dancers appeared behind them, dancing behind them as they continued.

A moment later, there were four skeletal dancers behind them, the aura's energies mixing together as they became a light violet.

A moment later, the dancers all turned into musical notes and were infused with the energy from the combined aura, flying all the way to Oogie Boogie, exploding on impact and causing the entire room to shake as the shadow howled in pain as the shadow started to return to the ground, smiling as he starred at them.
"Beginners luck if you ask me." Oogie Boogie said. "But don't worry, we'll meet again. And when we do, you'll be sorry you tangoed with me."
The shadow then disappeared, which the Grimm growled and disappeared, leaving the group alone as they all stood in that room.
"Coward." Saife said, dismissing her flaming daggers.
"That's his style." Spyro said. "Oogie Boogie doesn't like direct conflict. He prefers to use cowardly tactics to win. He even rigs his own games to where he wins all the time."
A moment later, white particles of light came from the sky, everyone looking up and a moment later, a small wooden pumpkin face appeared in front of everyone, shocking both Spyro and Jack while the others were confused.
"What is that thing?" Mandy asked.
"It's... a door?" Saife asked.
"Not just any door." Spyro said, removing his mask. "It's the Halloween Holiday Door."
"Now what in the world is this thing doing here?" Jack asked.
"I think Oogie Boogie has something to do with this." Spyro said. "These doors are only found on their holiday trees and if this door is here, Oogie Boogie must have taken the others."
"And what does that mean?" Fluttershy asked.
"It means the other Holidays are in danger." Spyro replied, looking to his friends. "If Oogie Boogie finds a way to either get to the other Holiday towns or finds a way to use the doors power, then all of the worlds are in big trouble."
"Then we need to find the others quick." Ruby said. "Who knows what kind of damage Oogie Boogie could do with those doors."
The group then left the Town Hall after collecting the door, walking out to find that there was some more people out in the square, walking about after the skeletons had been dealt with, but as they walked past, they noticed a short kid with his eyes sewed shut and wearing a stripped shirt and black shorts with pale skin, who seemed very excited to see them.
"Jack, you're back!" The kid said.
"Corpse kid?" Spyro asked, which Fluttershy squeaked a bit and hid behind him. "What are you doing out here? It's dangerous."
"I know, but when the skeletons were beaten, the witches opened their shop." Corpse kid replied. "Guess it means it's safe out here."
"For the moment." Jack replied. "Hey, do you know where Zero is?"
"I don't know." Corpse kid replied. "But I think the witches know. Their shop isn't too far from here. Maybe check it out for anything you might need."
"Alright." Jack said, looking to the others. "We might be able to pick up some useful items to help out. Come on everyone."
Fluttershy wasn;t willing to go, so they had to pick her up to bring her along despite her screams as they followed Jack to where the shop was, though they ran into a few stray skeletons, they were easily dispatched without any effort as they approached a door that had the word witches on it, walking through to find two witches, one small and the other big, both looking happy to see Jack.
"Jack, you're back!" The small witch said. "And you brought your friends as well!"
"I did." Jack replied. "But is the entire town really booby trapped?"
"Afraid so." The big witch said. "It's really embarrassing. We broguht this all on ourselves."
"Don't worry, we'll fix this." Spyro said. "Do you happen to know where Zero is?"
"Sadly no." The small witch replied. "Last we saw, he was with Sally before the skeletons and ghosts came. They were never very aggressive before."
"Well we need to leave town if we're going to confront Oogie Boogie." Jack said. "But as I entered town, the gate closed and locked itself."
"I think Clown has the key." The big witch said, making Spyro's spine crawl. "But I haven't seen him since the skeletons arrived."
"Great, we're getting the run around." Weiss said.
"Relax Weiss." Spyro said. "At least we're getting some help."
"Say, would any of you like to buy anything?" Big Witch asked. "We got some prime heads and torso's for sale, but they'll cost you an arm and a leg."
"Uh, maybe later." Spyro said, lookign to Fluttershy to see she was bear hugging his leg tightly while shivering. "As much as I hate to say it, we gotta find Clown."
"Last i saw him, he was in the Square." The Small witch said. "But other than that, I'm afraid there's not much we know."
"It's alright." Jack said. "Don't worry ladies, we'll find him. Come on everyone."
Everyone then started to leave the shop, though Fluttershy was clinging to Spyro's leg like her life depended on it as they made their way to the Square, looking around to try and find Clown, but Fluttershy kept on holding onto his leg, slowing them down a bit as they looked, but Saife seemed to be livid and turned to talk to them both.
"Ok, I'm sorry to say this, but maybe you should have left Fluttershy on the ship." Saife said. "I know she's your friend and all, but she's slowing us down."
"She's just scared, that's all." Spyro said, kneeling down and petting her head. "She might be a little shy, but I can always depend on her to help."
"Not if she falls down and freezes like a goat." Saife said.
"Don't worry Saife, you can depend on Fluttershy to be there when we need her." Spyro said.
"I hope so." Saife said, turning to walk away.
As she left, Fluttershy got off Spyro's leg, walking forward a bit before stopping.
"She's right." Fluttershy said. "I'm just slowing you guys down. Maybe i should just go back to the ship."
"No way Fluttershy, I meant every word of what I said." Spyro said, the shy pegasi looking at him. "No matter how scary the situation is, you're always there to help your friends. You're braver than you think you are. And I know that when push comes to shove, you'll be there to help."
"But what if I freeze again?" Fluttershy asked. "I mean, this place is super scary. What if-"
"Fluttershy, I know you better than you think you know yourself." Spyro said, putting a hand on her shoulder. "And I do mean what I said, no matter what, I trust that you'll be there when we need you."
Fluttershy looked up at him, touched by his words, but not sure if she was up for the battle ahead as he got up to continue looking for Clown.
"Guys, I found him!" Jack shouted.
They all looked to where Jack was at, which he was climbing out of a sewer and close behind was Clown, though he seemed to phase in as he came out.
"Spyro!" Clown said, making him shiver. "I didn't know you'd be here too! And you brought soem more friends!"
"I did." Spyro replied. "We need to get to Oogie Boogie. Do you have the key?"
"I do!" Clown replied. "I accidently ate it, but I got it back out. I just had to reach down my gullet, that's all! HAHAHAHAHA!"
"Focus." Spyro said.
"Geez, this guy's unhinged, isn't he?" Saife asked. "And I thought Pinkie was random."
"Believe me, Pinkie's just Pinkie." Spyro said. "Clown however, this guy get's a kick out of ripping his own face off."
"Wait, seriously?" Weiss asked.
"Don't worry guys, I'll get the gate open!" Clown said. However, a moment later, several more skeletons appeared, all growling and freaking Clown out. "Ahh, more skeletons!"
"I got them!" Weiss said.
She spun the cylinder on her sword and a moment later, she thrusted her blade int he air as a bolt of lightning hit the sword, swiping it across the Skeletons and destroying them in an instant, surprising everyone as she turned to look at them.
"Weiss, when did you learn to do that?" Ruby asked.
"Seriously Ruby?" Weiss asked. "I may have been here for a while, but I still have more than enough dust to handle these things."
"Wow, that was awesome!" Clown said.
"Clown, the gate." Spyro said.
"Ou yeah, right." Clown said. Clown moved on his unicycle towards the gate and went to the lock, fiddling with it a bit before the gate opened. "There you guys go! Gate's opened!"
"Jack, Jack!" Corpse kid shouted, running to them. "Oogie's baddies got Sally!"
"What!?" Jack asked. "Where did they take her!?"
"To the cemetary!" Corpse kid replied. "The Cemetary is very dangerous now. I hope she's ok."
"That's it!" Jack exclaimed. "No more Mr. Nice Bones! Come on guys!"
Everyone then ran out of the town as the gate closed behind them, all running to the cemetary to try and find Sally, though there were a lot more Skeletons and Ghosts there that attacked them, but they easily handled them before reaching a tree and there was a walking talking tree, who was looking around for something before turning to face them.
"Jack, you're back!" The tree said.
"Hello Hanging Tree." Jack said. "Where are your hanging men?"
"Well, ever since Oogie Boogie came to town with his monsters, my Hanging men have been hiding all around the cemetary." Hanging Tree replied. "They aren't exactly brave."
"Ugh, why are we wasting time with this?" Saife asked. "We should go after Oogie Boogie and end this whole thing. When he's gone, everything will go back to normal."
"But by the time we get to him, who knows what damage will have been done or how many people will be hurt." Spyro said. "No, we need to help our friends. Besides, they made the traps, they might be able to disarm them."
"Exactly." The Hanging tree said.
"But Hanging Tree, have you see Sally?" Jack asked. "She was last seen here in the Cemetary."
"No, I haven't, but maybe my Hanging Men might have seen her." Hanging tree replied. "Hey, maybe Zero might help. I bet he's at his grave."
"Wouldn't hurt to check." Spyro said. "Come on, let's go."
Everyone followed Jack and Saife looked more and more annoyed, walkign after them to get to Zero's grave, but as they were approaching it, they heard some singing, looking to the gate near Zero's grave as Lock, Shock, and Barrel came in, riding their walking tub.

It then stopped right in front of them, laughing as they stopped and took their masks off.
"Lock!" The kid in the devil costume shouted.
"Shock!" The girl in the witch outfit shouted.
"Barrel!" The kid in the skeleton outfit shouted.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't the troublesome trio." Spyro said.
"Welcome home Jack!" Lock said.
"How was your trip Jack?" Shock asked.
"Are you having fun Jack?" Barrel asked.
"You three wouldn't happen to have anything to do with oogie's return, would you?" Jack asked.
"Who?" Lock asked.
"Us?" Shock asked.
"Oh... um... uh..." Barrel said, trying to find something to say only for shock to hit him.
"Look you three, it's not too late." Jack said. "Return this town to order and we'll forget this ever happened."
"Now why would we do that?" Lock asked.
"The fun has just begun!" Shock said.
"And besides, we're on a secret mission to stop you and your friends, so don't tell anyone." Barrel said, laughing before getting his by Lock with a plunger.
A moment later, Lock jumped out as the tub walked away, leaving them alone as the fence rose up, blocking their way as they all got ready for a fight, several skeletons and Grimm popping up to fight.

Seconds later, dizens of Skeletons and Grim popped up, charging at them as Spyro and his friends charged, Spyro remained near Fluttershy to keep her safe while Ruby and Weiss worked together, cutting through the Grimm as mandy worked with Jack, using her own elastic arms combined with Jack's own attacks to go through the Skeletons while Saife, she conjured several fireballs in all directions, exploding and sending all enemies flying everywhere.
[Shock]
First we brought the Master back
To take this town away from Jack!
We knew he'd fight to set things right
So we got bad guys who attack!
Spyro used his Force abilities to send a group of Grimm that got too close back towards Ruby and Weiss, calling a second blade and using both to block an attack meant for Fluttershy, keeping her safe before leaping into a group of Skeletons and Force Slamming into the gound, sending them flying everywhere, but they got back up and attacked again.

Ghosts and skeletons galore!
Brainwashed fighters wanting more!
They're rising up from every tomb,
To torment Jack and seal his doom!
[Lock, Shock, Barrel]

Keep him guessing all the time,

Everyone was doing their best to fight off the skeletons and the Grimm, cutting through each as they fought as hard as they could, Fluttershy freaking out as she suddenly casted Aero to protect herself, but the air ended up blowing many of them away as one hit a Grimm, making it turn around, but Ruby blasted it while it was distracted.
[Barrel]
Then Mister Oogie Boogie man,
[Shock]
Can take the whole town over then!
[Lock]
He'll be so pleased, I do declare!
[Lock, Shock, Barrel]
The whole world should beware!

Jack and Mandy were fighting their hardest, their backs to one another, but Mandy and Jack looked at one another, nodding as Mandy wrapped around jack's other arm, the Pumpkin King spinning around as both slime weapons wrapped around a couple of skeletons and knocked many of them down before launching Mandy at one of the Grimm, wrapping around it and making it hit itself over and over again.

With Mister Oogie as our the king,
We'll get away with everything!
No more scolding for our pranks!
The new King Oogie, let's give thanks!
[Barrel]
A trick a day, oh, why stop there?
We'll do whatever! We won't care!
And everyone will come to know
We run the show! Hey, life's unfair!
Saife was doing well on her own as she summoned a couple of whips made out of fire, striking any and all skeletons that were near her, helping to clear the field, but she then looked to her right and saw that Fluttershy was doing alright, second guessing what she said about the pony, but as she thought it, she saw that a massive Grimm rise up right behind her, so she raised her hand and summoned a massive Fireball, getting ready to throw it, but then froze, seeing that Fluttershy would also get hit as she started to shake, Spyro cutting another Grimm in half and seeing that Saife was scared, looking to see what she was scared of and his eyes widened in fear after seeing that Fluttershy was in danger. Before he could do anything, Saife snapped her fingers and immediately the fireball was destroyed, being turned into a rain of fire, falling on the beast and destroying it, but Spyro looked to Saife, seeing that she was still shaken by something and knew he needed to get to the bottom of it.

Spyro had enough of the continuous attacks and decided to finish things instantly, calling his wings as he flew into the sky and a moment later, the clouds in the sky all come towards him, surrounding him as they changed from Cumulous clouds into Nimbus clouds, releasing hail that then turned itno burning hail and rained down on everything underneath, avoiding his friends as they took out all enemies at once. When it was over, they all cornered Lock, who looked terrified as he dropped his weapon and held his hand up, keeping his other hand behind his back.
"Ok, ok, I promise to behave." Lock said. "I'll be good I promise. Gotta go!"
He then jumped off and started running, though they didn't notice the first time, he had his fingers crossed, meaning his promise was nullified while everyone else walked to the grave stone that Zero was in, Jack smacked his hand to his knee and got Zero's attention, which it was a ghost dog as it popped up from the grave.
"Zero, there you are!" Jack said. The ghost dog barked, flying around them before floating in front of Jack. "Zero, we need your help finding the Hanging Tree's Hanged men."
The ghost dog barked, floating back towards the Hanging Tree as everyone ran behind the dog, but as they reached it, Zero flew in one direction, everyone running that way except for Spyro and Fluttershy, both staying where they were as the others went ahead, but Ruby stopped, noticing that Spyro wasn;t coming and found it unusual.
"Hey, you coming?" Ruby asked.
"You guys go on ahead, we'll catch up." Spyro said. Ruby shrugged her shoulders, running after her friends while Saife moved to walk past him, but Spyro put his hand on her shoulder, stopping her and making her look at him. "Not you Saife. We need to talk."
"About what?" Saife asked, removing her shoulder from his grasp.
"About how you froze." Spyro replied. "You could have easily blown that Grimm away, but didn't. Why?"
"What does it matter to you?" Saife asked. "How I fight is my business."
"Yes, but I must know if I can count on you." Spyro replied. "We're a team, and a team is only as strong as it's weakest link. And right now, that's you."
"Excuse me?" Saife asked, now getting angry. "Listen pal, I can throw my own weight around how I see fit! I'm not some human punk who can;t keep his pants zipped when he sees a girl he likes! So why don't you worry about your girlfriend while I go and finish your mission!"
"Hostility when confronted." Spyro said, which only surprised Saife at how calm he was as he removed his mask to look at her, seeing the stern look he had while starring at her. "Tell me, what was it that made you pause and rethink you're attack? You could have easily destroyed it with that fireball while I could have saved Fluttershy from the blast."
"That's none of your business!" Saife shouted, turning to walk away.
"Oh, but it is my business." Spyro said. He then snapped his fingers and a moment later, a ring of dark purple flames appeared, surrounding all three of them and keeping Saife from leaving, turning to Spyro as he had his blade out. "If you're not willing to tell me in a friendly conversation, then I'll have to find out another way."
He then raised his blade, taking a battle stance while Saife looked furious, two blades made out of white hot flames appered in her hands as she seemed to be growling at him.
"Oh, you want a fight Pencil Dick!?" Saife asked. "Well then, bring it on you hairles ape!"
Saife raised her blades and took a stance, both ready to fight one another and see what each other is capable of. Meanwhile in Equestria, everyone was picking up the pieces of what remained of Nightmare Night, soem of the parents terrified of some of the decorations as they feared they wpuld come back to life while others seemed to have gotten a thrill out of it, thinking it was part of the night's festivities. But with Twilight and her friends, they were with Princess Luna, talking about what was going on and how they could fix this.
"So you're saying Spyro is in another world right now?" Luna asked.
"He is." Twilight replied. "He took a team to Halloween Town, which is the world in which it is the incarnation of Halloween and Nightmare Night. Something on that world is affecting all the worlds who are cirrently celebrating this holiday."
"If that's so, I hope that they succeed in reversing the damage done tonight." Luna said, looking to her citizens. "I have only just gotten used to this bizarre holiday, I'd hate for a night of terror and fun to be ruined."
"Don't worry princess, Spyro will succeed." Twilight said, smiling at her. "He always does."
Meanwhile with the fillies, they were all gathered, comparing the candy they got before they were attacked and some grumbled at how little they got.
"Are you serious!?" Diamond Tiara shouted as she showed she only had a few pieces. "This is all I got!? Ooh, if thos dumb decorations hadn't come to life-"
"No pony could have predicted this would happen." Scootaloo said. "But there is a way we can still enjoy the night."
"And how do you propose that Blank Flank?" Diamond tiara asked.
"Spyro's garage!" Sweetie Belle replied. "He's got a theater room that shows movies and shows that no pony's seen before."
"And he's got a bunch of scary movies!" Apple Bloom said. "Perfect for a night like this. We can put on a few while he's away and eat a bunch of popcorn, drink soda, whatever we want to do!"
"I don't know what a movie is, but it actually sounds like fun." Silver Spoon said.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Blank Flanks might actually have a good idea." Diamond Tiara said. "So, when do we start?"
"Right now!" Apple Bloom replied. "And we already got the first one ready! We'll start off with somethin' not very scary and move our way up from there!"
"Yeah, going scarier and scarier!" Scootaloo said. "Last pony to go home is the bravest pony in all of Ponyville!"
"What are we waiting for!?" One of the fillies asked. "Let's go!"
All of the foals then started running to Spyro's garage to watch some movies, running past the adults while others were telling their parents where they were going as the group ran to Sweet Apple Acres, but in Spyro's garage and in the theater room, the movie care for Coraline was sitting on the counter, a dark aura appearing from it as dark laughter rung out from nowhere, slowly fading as it went on.
